Ray and Betsy's piece of Maui paradise made for a perfect holiday. Clean, quiet, beautifully appointed, and thoughtfully stocked for guests...this property does not disappoint! Loved the vintage aviation/travel artwork, the comfortable beds, and the trade winds and air conditioners that kept the space cool and breezy when our Canadian temperatures started to rise!
The property and grounds are impeccably maintained and manicured by pleasant and present staff--gorgeous manicured lawns and treed areas--even fresh herbs for guests to pick! The pool and hot tub were perfect after mornings spent snorkeling and exploring the amazing beaches Kihei has to offer. The community grills were a big hit with our group and they are cleaned and maintained daily.
Turtles swimming in the beach out front every day and the most amazing sunsets from the lanai or the dunes overlooking the beach.
The property is close to shopping and groceries and fabulous bakeries and shaved ice. What a treat.
Prompt and clear communication with the owners made planning simple and hassle-free.
Our family left a piece of our hearts in Maui and we are already planning our next visit! Thank you Ray and Betsy!

Loved staying at this lovely unit at the Maui Sunset. Both unit and property were very clean and well taken care of. I enjoyed my time at this property. Plenty of parking, clean open space with a large lanai. Walk through the lush park and right to the beach. One thing that I didn't see initially but in a review later on- the A/C can only run for a max of 4 hours at a time ( a requirement from the condo complex). I typically need a constant cold environment to sleep and being a solo traveler, I close off the bedroom door at night for added safety (which restricts the breeze option). No remote so you have to get up to click it back on each time. Had to do a few chores before leaving- take out trash, start the dishwasher and a load of laundry. Convenient location to the highway and food/stores.

Unfortunately, there was only one handicap parking, which was used by a person who was using an expired (2019) disabled placard. We were parked just to unload our luggage (15 min) returned to find a note taped to our window (don't ever park here again!) We get it, parking is assigned, but a loading parking spot would be nice.

This is a great little condo for our stay in Maui, the location can’t be beat, the beach is right there and the grounds of the condo is beautiful. The porch looks out to the pool, the grass and all the way to the sunset and the beach. The pool is really good too, good size and very clean. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone. The only tiny complaint is there were no shampoos nor conditioners in the bathrooms.

My bf and I brought my mom on this trip (she's 84) so having the elevator nearby was perfect. We all loved this place. The view of the pool and ocean and palm trees. BEAUTIFUL! The place was bigger than expected. Clean and all the comforts of home provided. Checking in was easy. Checking out was easy as well since there's a key drop box. We had zero issues during our stay. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!

This condo unit was perfect for me and my stay in Kihei. It is located with easy access to the restaurants and shops of Kihei. More importantly, the unit is very well kept, and extremely clean upon my arrival. It had everything I needed as for amenities, including a very relaxing property and beach front. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

The condo was clean and well appointed. The cleaning crew left non-perishable items in the refrigerator along with spices and other items in the cabinets. This is very appreciated as most condo cleaners clean everything out which requires guests to have go out and purchase them. The bed was very comfortable. The only thing I wished that the condo had was some sort of coffee table in front of the couch. I had a very nice stay.

We had a wonderful stay. Everything was exactly as described in the listing, and I so appreciated Ray and Betsy's great communication. The condo itself is full of updates and makes you feel right at home. And while the property of Maui Sunset doesn't look like much from the street, the lawn and pool area that lead to the beach are absolutely gorgeous. The sunsets you can watch from there are truly breathtaking. We wouldn't hesitate to come back and stay here again.

Catching part of the Maui Sunset on the top Lanai each night is so spectacular and tranquil! The salt water pool is so relaxing and amazing with the beautiful courtyard🌺
Our family enjoyed the beach front property. The walk to the beach and ocean is literally at your back doors! And all the stuff you need for the beach is at your finger tips.

Our family had a great vacation, just came back last night. This is a great unit in a very maintained complex. Everything is close, enjoyed the last snorkel in the morning before we left to the airport :-). Host is great, gave us good advises.
If you are looking to get the best of Maui at a reasonable price this is a great place o stay.

We loved the location right on the beach (no road to cross) and easy access both to other beaches in South Kihei and to Haleakala and the Road to Hana. The grounds were beautiful and the pool was great. Good size kitchen, comfortable beds, great balcony and everything worked well.

This worked well for what we were expecting - a place to sleep and recharge before our next adventure. Even so, it was just adequate, not extravagant. There’s one good bed plus a couple beds that’ll get you by. The linens looked a bit old and dirty, perhaps ought to be replaced soon. The kitchen area worked well for us, although the oven took forever to heat up. The resort itself is nice though. We enjoyed the hot tub at night. Overall, we were certainly satisfied with what this offers, just don’t go in with high expectations that this will be one of the nicer places you’ve stayed or you’ll likely be disappointed.

The condo itself has a beautiful ocean view from the lanai and the unit was just terrific. We had everything we needed. The location was perfect & the cross breeze was refreshing - we rarely used the AC. The hosts were just wonderful as well. We would stay again!

Everything we needed is in the condo. I was able to make my own Hawaiian meals instead of going out every night. Beautiful view of the ocean. Very nice to have 2 bathrooms and washer/dryer in the unit. All shopping and beaches close by.

This hosts were so nice and quick to respond to all my communications. I experienced a rude office worker and the hosts alerted the property immediately.
The condo is in a fantastic location with a great view. I was pleasantly surprised at all the beach gear. 1 shower head is pretty short but luckily there are 2 showers.
I would note that the front office is only open until 5pm so you only have 2 hours to check in with a real person.
We had a great time and are already planning a return trip!

This condo was great, I can't believe I passed over it several times in my search due to the pictures. I'm just glad I eventually read through the description and reviews to realize the gem it is and that it was perfect for our stay.
My partner and I stayed here 4 nights, and 2 of those nights with a friend who lives in O'ahu and came over to visit. The layout of this condo is great for multiple adults or a family with kids. Really appreciated having a full second bathroom so whoever is staying in the living room doesn't have to go through the bedroom to use a bathroom. Beyond that the condo is furnished nicely and stocked with everything you would need for a stay. The building itself is slightly older, but very well maintained, and the owners have done a great job making updates to the condo over the years (granted a few areas are starting to show some age). But really nothing I could ever complain about, and overall the condo itself and the property is a great place to stay.
Regarding the location, it definitely checks a lot of boxes. This was the fourth and last place we stayed during a 2 week visit to Maui, and personally Kihei wasn't my favorite part of the island. But I can certainly see why it would be great for families or people that want to be central to everything. You are surrounded by everything and anything you would need, from stores, to restaurants, activities, etc. Even though this is not necessarily what was important to me, I did enjoy my stay here, especially some of the remarkable beaches in the area (my favorites: Charley Young Beach, Ulua Beach, Makena Beach).
Other bonus for dog lovers, the park/beach right next to and behind the building becomes a giant dog park at sunset. If you like dogs its a great perk while enjoying the sunset.

It's hard to call anything in Hawaii reasonably priced, but Maui Sunset fits that category. Nothing fancy, but simple, clean accommodations. A fine place to sleep. It was extremely windy when we were there in November, going to the beach next to the unit was like being in a sand blaster, but we got out there early in the morning and were able to see many turtles. You really need to drive to do anything, including going to beaches where the wind was not so bad, but nothing was very far. Be aware that the area is not fancy or "resorty" in any way. There are big condo complexes all along the beach, but it is in a blue collar, working neighborhood. That's fine by us, but don't expect fine dining, shopping, and the like nearby.

The property is beautiful and is a steps across the property right to the beach! After walking a short distance up, we were able to see turtles relaxing on the beach and swimming a short distance in front of us. The place is spacious in the living area which was really nice! The location is great to drive to different parts of the island for exploring or enjoying all the beaches Maui has to offer. Sunsets were simply amazing from the beach and lanai and you are a short drive to great restaurants to enjoy after sunset! We had a great stay here and hope to be back!

Wow! What a great location! Beautiful ocean view from the family room and lanai. So many amenities - tennis, shuffle board, putting green, a WARM pool :) and just steps to the beach. Easy access to restaurants, shopping, sites and fun! The condo was stocked with beach towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, snorkels. I loved that we didn’t have to bring anything extra! The kitchen had everything we needed. I was especially happy to see a rice maker! The owners were easy to communicate with which made planning our stay even easier. We can’t wait to return!

The property is located on the beach with a nice large grass area and nice pool. Common area is maintained daily and in good conditions. The unit fits in 5 people with one small bedroom, two bathrooms and a good size living room and kitchen (open space). The two bathrooms are a somewhat dated, but clean. Other than that, all was good and we enjoyed our time there.

My husband and I were so happy during our stay in Ray and Betsy’s condo. The place was clean, well equipped, comfortable, and convenient to get to from OGG even “by bus”. (Covid caused car rentals to be $$$$, so we opted for the very clean Maui bus system.)
The views from the lanei allowed for relaxing beautiful meals. We walked to the nearby markets for everything we needed. We played shuffle board, golf on the putting green, and swam in the pool on the pristine Maui Sunset grounds. We enjoyed long walks on the beach and saw many turtles during our snorkeling adventures.
This was a perfect 4 day 3 night recharge for us.

We loved the spacious balcony and openness of the unit. In-unit W/D and AC was great to have. Wished we could have spent a few more nights there. Suggestion to add an additional fan in the bedroom for folks who sleep hot like us. We didn't want to turn on the A/C in the bedroom since it's a little loud, so having another fan would have been perfect. Check-in was a little spotty. We arrived an hour after check-in time and the cleaning lady was still there frantically trying to finish so we just waited out in the balcony.

We had a great time at this place. It was very clean. Could not believe how well the grounds crew kept it up. The whole experience felt like we were at home. A couple things to think about; during this time of year the lanae got way more sun than we would have liked, maybe add an umbrella on the table. The lanae could also a couple of hooks for towels and bathing suits. Last thing how about adding a couple more large plastic storage containers.
Overall it was a great relaxing trip on Maui.

We had a great time at the Maui Sunset! The unit was very nice! The kitchen, family area is large with beautiful dark floors and a large, new counter with bar stools. We loved the pool view and saw some amazing sunsets from the lawn. Also enjoyed playing tennis and using the nice barbecues. Overall, our two nights were great, and we would come back to this unit.

The condo was great. Although the tv did not work when we arrived. The bed was fixed but the bedding was not changed had to change it to fresh bedding due to the sheets had bad odor. The dryer was still going with wet towels. Was upset that the pool was closed for the last 3 days we were there, I wish we were told about this in advance.

Good location, shopping for basics is down the road. The exterior of the building does not look like much, but the inside of the room was very nice. We only had 3 people so more then enough space, having 2 bathrooms is really nice. The complex has nice courtyard with pool and tennis and BBQ near. The room itself has a good view of the ocean and is not too far from the elevator. Usually I expect to be able to hear neighbors in this kind of place... but never a sound, We had extended family members in other rooms and it was the same.
The Gadbois were very easy to communicate with and I would not hesitate to rent this room again. Hopefully for a real vacation next time and not for personal/family reasons.

This is our first time in Maui and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Maui Sunset A314. It comfortably housed our family of five. They had many useful amenities that made our stay memorable. The community at Maui Sunset was very welcoming as well. We sat at the beach every night to watch the sunset and we enjoyed the pool too.
We appreciated the little Hawaiian touches throughout the suite. The hawaiian coffee mugs and plates and other hawaiian decor that made our first hawaiian experience for the kids so much fun. thank you very much. we will definitely recommend Maui Sunset to our friends and hope to go back one day!
