Great condo in the perfect location, 2 minute walk to the beach. The beach across the stress is one of my favorites in Kihei where turtles swam past us nearly every time we were in the water. Not to mention next to good restaurants and shops.

Condo was great, bed is extra soft and pullout couch is comfortable. Unit doesn’t have AC but it didn’t get too hot with fans or windows open. Well equipped with towels, beach wagon, coffee maker, dishwasher & laundry soap, utensils , bowls, bags etc. Perfect location. The complex maintains the bbq and pool areas very well.
Only negatives which albeit didn’t detract from the trip: frying pans aren’t great and would have been nice to have some seasonings (not a big deal if you’re not planning on cooking), and the neighbour across the lawn in building B is a killjoy especially if you have kids (not this condo owners fault)

This property is as listed. It is right across the road from Kamaole II beach.
Interaction with the owner, cleaner and the office was great.
Two areas that need improvement are:
1) The bed sucks. That is unless you want a really soft bed. This bed has 2 layers of foam on top of the mattress. Some will love it. We want a firm bed, so we didn't like it.
2) The noise. Not the owner's fault. However you hear whatever the neighbors are doing. We are right beside the mail boxes. The mail boxes make quite the noise when opened and closed. The garbage is about 2 suites away. They pick up the garbage between 5:30 and 6:30 a.m. If you are a really sound sleeper you might not hear them.
Overall this is a nice place. We have stayed in a studio suite before. It is really nice to have the bedroom and especially the laundry team in the suite.

My wife and I have been to this exact condo twice before but this time we did a family trip. We stayed here with our 14 and 11 year old. The condo was great for us. Our eldest kids and grandkids stayed in a condo 5 doors down so it was nice to be close to everyone. There was plenty of space for us, Wi-Fi and everything worked great. The condo is a very short walk to the beach and shops as well as a few restaurants. Kathy the owner was great with responding and notifying us of anything we needed to know. We even accidentally locked ourselves out one night. We locked the front screen which we didn’t do again and shut the glass sliding door leading to the lanai. When we were gone the pull down blinds got wedged between the slider and the wall. We couldn’t open it and the office was closed so we resigned that we might have to bunk with our eldest kid in their condo until the front office opened up the next morning but i went around to the bedroom window and open the shutters so wind would flow through stronger in hopes to dislodge the pull down shutter and 20 minutes later it worked. Long story if you stay here don’t lock the front door screen lol. Kathy was so good with us despite the late night texts and calls. Thank you again Kathy for our third stay at your wonderful condo.

Excellent property, photos don’t do it justice. Nice community, not a party spot, great snorkeling within walking distance. From property owner to security at the complex everyone was kind and helpful. Location made a good starting point for driving to all of the different areas of the island.

This condo is located in a great spot. Beach is right across the street and shopping/restaurants are in the vicinity and walkable. There are two pools which is a welcomed addition. Condo itself is a great size for a couple people. Pull out couch for additional guests. Kitchen is well equipped with necessities and basic condiments left by other guests. Quiet through the day and night. Opening both lanai sliding door and front door let’s a great cross breeze enter to cool suite down. Warm at night but an air circulator is available for moving the air around. Comfortable furniture (especially the recliner!). Great view to outdoor area full of beautiful trees and foliage. Office staff are helpful and polite.

Perfect location across from the beach, walking distance to shops and restaurants. Property and gardens well maintained. Condo was well stocked with all beach items, kitchen necessities, plenty of towels and bedding, as well as numerous electrical outlets. The host had excellent communication!
It could use a better fan in the living room and a new mattress. There were two cushy, memory foam toppers on the bed, but the mattress dipped in the middle so that didn’t help much. Overall, a great value and I would stay here again.

Good place to stay, the lack of air conditioning wasn't really an issue for me. The breeze through the patio and front door was sufficient to keep the temperature comfortable. Place is well stocked and in a super convient spot to walk to eat or to the beach. Would stay here again.

Great place to stay in Kihei. Close to fantastic beaches and downtown Kihei. Check in was easy and smooth. The Lani was super nice as it made access easy. Communication with Kathy was great. The condo was outfitteted nicely with a full kitchen including garbage disposal and dishwasher. It was nice to have laundry in the condo. The bed was comfortable with a mattress topper and the sofa sleeper was actually decent. The only complaint would be that there isn’t A/C and it was a little warm in the summer when we were there. It wasn’t by any means unreasonable and it really didn’t bother us. We could also hear people walking/talking outside the windows at night sometimes. Plenty of closet and dresser space to unload the suitcases as well. There were 3 beach towels was nice to have as well as 4 beach chairs although we only used 2 of them. There was also a beach umbrella and a boogie board and a cooler that we used a couple of times as the beach. Overall I would definitely recommend this property.

The condo was very nice! It was clean and had tons of amenities. It was right across from Kamole Beach 2 with a lifeguard! Overall it was great. The only issue was no air conditioning. Even with fans and open windows I was hot/sweating throughout the day and at night.

Literally a 2 minute walk to Kam 2 beach where we watched the sunset most nights, 3-4 minute walk from multiple tasty and relatively inexpensive restaurants. Condo was a little hot at night, but we bought a box fan to help with that and left it at the condo. Owner very accommodating and easy to communicate with.

This was a perfect condo as home base for us throughout all of our Maui adventures over 10 days. We loved that it was ground floor and just a quick walk to the beach. It had everything we needed! The temps were just fine for us to sleep without air conditioning, even in August. Kihei was a great central location for going everywhere else around the island, and believe me we went EVERYWHERE! Kathy was very helpful and responsive to all of my inquiries, and was on top of anything related to being our land lady. We would highly recommend!!

This was our second time staying here. The location is perfect across the street from the beach in Kihei. Shops within walking distance. This condo is on the bottom floor which is awesome because it makes easier to come and go. The owner is fantastic. Had to call her a couple of times when we first got there and she answered right away. She gave me quick answers to my questions. This place is perfect for a couple or a small family. All appliances worked great and there is plenty of beach stuff so no need to rent anything. We would not hesitate to stay here again. Thank you Kathy for being great with communication and a wonderful host.

Kathy's condo was perfect for our family of 4. We basically only spent the nights in the condo, with the majority of our time at the beaches or out exploring the island. Her condo has the essentials for cooking meals and the pull-out couch worked great for our 2 kids to sleep on. Not having an air conditioner was not a problem for us - sleeping at night was comfortable the entire 10 nights we were there. The location was great, as it's in a nice stretch between Kam 1, 2, and 3 beaches in Kihei with shopping and restaurants within easy walking distance. Despite the island of Maui experiencing a large storm system for many days when we were on the island, the weather in Kihei was mostly great (which, as we've learned, is common - Kihei's weather is generally very nice without a lot of rainfall compared to other areas on the island). Kathy was great - very fast to respond to any messages and she was also very helpful & accommodating throughout the reservation process (note: this was during COVID when a 72-hr COVID test was required to travel to the island - Kathy went above and beyond to help us feel comfortable booking with her before we got the results of our test). I would recommend her condo to anyone seeking a 1 bedroom condo on Maui, accommodating up to 4 persons. The only watch-out I'd have is not in regard to Kathy or her condo itself, but rather, Kihei Akahi... If you have kids who like to play in a pool, the pools at Kihei Akahi are tailored more towards the older, long-term residents of the property (which is understandable). No jumping into the pools, splashing, etc. is allowed. It wasn't a big deal for us as we spent most of our time in the warm water of the ocean, but something to be aware of if traveling with kids.

My wife and I stayed here for 15 days during Covid-19 time. We found the condo to be very well located - close to beaches and restaurants. The condo complex is quiet and well run.
The large smart TV and 5G WiFi were a treat to come home to after and a long day of hikes and beach life.
Kathy is great host. We had uncertainty about our trip because of Covid-19 rules and cancellations. Kathy was willing to work with us so we felt comfortable about booking the condo.
Maui is a lovely place to be and we wouldn't hesitate to stay in this condo again.

We were very happy with Kathy's condo at the Kihei Akahi! We've stayed at several condos in Kihei and the Akahi is definitely our favourite now. The pool areas and grounds are really well maintained and the location can't be beat, you can be at the beach in less than 2 minutes and when you are carrying all the beach supplies for 2 young children that is a real bonus! The unit itself was great - we really enjoyed having a main floor unit which allowed the kids (which there were many in the complex) to run around and play in the evening without having to go up and down stairs. It actually showed better in person that in the photos - there's a newer pull-out sofa than pictured and it's brighter than I feel the photos suggest. We appreciated that when we had a small plumbing issue it was remedied very quickly and didn't cause any headache for us. Thanks for letting us stay at your place Kathy, and we look forward to returning.

Had an amazing stay at this property. Better than the pictures. In a great location on the ground floor and 3 minutes to the beach. 2nd time staying here and can't wait to come back again. The hide a bed is great with the topper mattress and the main bed is comfy. The Tommy Bahama chairs are getting a little tired (zippers are broken) but they still work. Thanks for the stay!

We enjoyed the location of the condo, centrally located in Kehei and right across the street from a beautiful beach. It had everything we needed for the beach. However we dreaded coming back each night as there was no air conditioning. Only 2 fans and a ceiling fan in the bedroom which stopped working after night one. We did not sleep well due to the heat. We did not realize the condo had no air conditioning when we booked but later read on the condo description that there was no air conditioner because the owner did not want to contribute to global warming. I would suggest if that was a high concern to not encourage people to fly on planes to travel to your condo in the first place and not to have an unbearable climate at your condo that could be simply fixed.

This was a great location. It was literally a 2 min walk to the beach. It was fairly modern and quiet. Although there is no air conditioning the Dyson fan and ceiling fan in the bedroom kept it cool. When keeping the screen door and front door open there is an really good breeze that is amazing. When we arrive our beach chairs and umbrella were broken. The owner trust our opinion and allowed us to purchase a new set with reimbursement!! I highly recommend staying here!

For the price of the condo and the comparable units on VRBO in this area we definitely suggest this property. The condo is on the first floor of the building, patio opens to nice grassy area, and washer/dryer in the unit. The beach is very close and only a 2 minute walk from the front door. The beach out front is great and perfect for young kids to play as there are no rocks or big surf. The unit itself is clean and nicely furnished. This part of the island is very hot and the only addition I would recommend is AC. However, they do supply a great Dyson fan that was much appreciated. Another great part is how close all restaurants and shopping are. Everything you need is walking distance and you really wouldn't even need a rental car if you are planning on staying in Kihei. Not sure why people complain about the security, they were very nice and no issues. Highly recommend this unit!

The condo was in a good location and had what we needed for the stay. The condo was mostly as expected based on the description and previous reviews. The reason for 4 stars was that there is no air conditioning, which we knew when we booked, however we happened to be there during unusually hot and humid weather with minimal tradewinds, which made for some hot and sticky nights. Also the sleeper sofa is just a basic sleeper sofa and really isn't comfortable for adults for several nights (my husband and I slept on it for 4 nights with our traveling companion in the bedroom). So if you have enough adults to need 2 beds, you may want to look at other options. The beach across the street is a really great beach - only a two minute walk with a shower and a foot wash right there. It was really convenient to run down to the beach to take a quick dip in the ocean after a full day sightseeing.

I stayed at Kathy's condo solo from 6/15~6/18, 2015.
When I arrived at the condo, I couldn't put a lid of the lock box back properly, but office staffs at Kihei Akahi helped me.
This is my first time using VRBO and staying at a condo, so it was kind of difficult for me to understand because I am not a native English speaker. But the owner, Kathy always responded kindly.
Location is great! I don't use a car, so it was good that stores and restaurants are within walking distance. 808 Deli's food is delicious! Kamaole Beach 2 is in front of Kihei Akahi. And I love the condo was located at 1st floor. It is easier to go in and out. I enjoyed the listening to the birds singing and beautiful landscaped gardens in the morning.
The bedroom looks great, but the ceiling fan didn't work for some reason. And the bedroom was beside the hallway and it was a bit loud when people walked there at night. So I couldn't sleep well on my 1st day of the stay at the condo... Kathy suggested using a sofabed in the living room and I used it, but it was a bit soft for me. There is a dyson tower fan in the living room.
I didn't cook, but the kitchen is great. I loved the large marble shower in the bathroom. ( It was totally better than the hotel's shower that I used in Waikiki!)
It was my first time staying in Maui, so I was nervous and busy to take tours and visit other places by Maui Bus myself, so it probably took time to get used to the condo. But overall, I love this condo. I enjoyed taking pictures of sunsets of Kamaole Beach.
I hope I can visit Maui and stay at the Kathy's cond again. I would spend my time for relaxing more and get used to the stay much easier next time :)

We really enjoyed this condo. It was well equipped in the kitchen (we did plenty of cooking, and of course, made a few pina coladas), with lots of fun gear for the beach, too (chairs, noodles, etc.). The condo was spacious with room for up to four people, and comfortably housed the three of us. Directly across from the beach, in walking distance to restaurants, shops and grocery stores, the location couldn't be beat. Such a reasonable price to pay for such a great set up.

My family of four (kids ages 12 and 6) stayed here for a week in November. I am always nervous to go to unfamiliar places and stay in unfamiliar housing. This time, my nervousness dissappeared completely when we checked out the condo and its surroundings. Everything worked for us! Location - Kihei, apparently, is the best for just relaxing and swimming (I heard that most other beaches are more "wavy" and more suitable for surfing), so here we were in Kihei and right across from the beach. I loved to have flexibility for the whole family to enjoy the beach: if my 12 year old wanted to go back to condo, she could! And I could stay by myself, and if family needed me I could immediately go back. That part was a huge positive for me. Condo - had everything we needed! We rarely eat out, so the kitchen was fully equipped with cooking essentials and dishes. I loved having a cooler and an ice pack, so we could take it with us when driving around exploring. There is full size coffee maker, gas range, oven, dish-washer. The little closet in the kitchen had all the cleaning supplies. Washer/dryer was a huge positive as well. As far as AC goes: my husband panicked when he saw no AC, however, it turned out that the climate was so pleasant, that fans were sufficient. There is a smart tv, so we could turn on Iheart radio and listen to pleasant music, if we did not want to watch tv. The owner responded with lightning speed to any communication, so I really appreciated it. When (not if) we go back to Maui, we will definitely try and book this condo again.

I had never been to Maui, so the whole trip was a new experience. The condo was in a great location!! It is right across the street from the beach, and I found a beautiful trail along the beach. It's close to shopping and restaurants. The condo was super clean and nicely decorated. Had all the cooking appliances and toiletries we needed. You look out the sliding glass doors to a beautiful sight. Greenery, flowers, and the chirps of the birds. I didn't realize that there was no A/C. I guess a lot of places have no A/C and you have to open the windows so the fresh night air can come in. I got use to it after a couple days, but they had ceiling fans and stand up fan. Overall experience was great and I would stay here again. Great price for the location and condo!! Owner was excellent to work with and communicated well!!! Thanks again
