***During the Covid pandemic we are blocking a full day between guest stays to allow for enhanced cleaning. We've always used a bleach solution to clean and sanitize our unit (explains all the white furnishings!) and non-bleachable fabrics are cleaned in hot water using a color-safe antibacterial sanitizing solution. All dishes are run through the dishwasher between guests. We also have a contact-free check-in/out process. We will email all information for your stay prior to your arrival and set up a unique door code for your access to the unit. We are also offering a flexible cancellation policy until normal travel returns. Stay Well! ***
Aloha and welcome to the Hale Kai Uli!
What exactly is the Hale Kai Uli? In the Hawaiian language hale means house, kai is the ocean and uli means blue. The House of the Deep Blue Sea.
The Hale Kai Uli is adjacent to a quiet stretch of sandy beach in sunny Kihei, Maui… just 500 feet from lanai to toes-in-the-ocean! Our 2 bedroom/1 bath condo can sleep 4 guests and was fully renovated with all new furnishings in October 2016.
Bedroom 1 offers a plush queen-sized gel-infused memory foam mattress and luxuriously soft sheets. Windows facing both east & west provide great cross-ventilation and a large wall-mounted oscillating fan will keep you cool as you sleep. sleepers. There is extra counterspace and a large mirror for dressing with easy-to-access outlets.
Bedroom 2 offers 2 twin-sized memory foam beds, a large dresser and closet space. A 32” SMART TV is set up with a BlueRay DVD player. Cable is not available on this TV but it is connected to the wi-fi so you can use your Netflix or Hulu accounts. Cable is available on the living room TV which is also set up for you to access your streaming accounts.
In the bathroom you’ll find plenty of storage space and hooks for wet towels or toiletry bags. A hotel-style towel rack installed in the shower is the perfect place to drip dry wet swim suits. A hairdryer is provided.
Our kitchen comes fully equipped with stainless appliances and all the cookware, tools and gadgets and serving dishes you would need to make a quick breakfast or a full dinner. You can also take advantage of two gas grills and full outdoor kitchen at the pavilion area near the pool.
You’ll find a dining table inside for those rare rainy nights but Hawaii living is all about being outdoors so we’ve provided a patio set large enough to accommodate 4 adults for a full dinner. A retractable shade will keep the lanai cool in the afternoon. And once the sun fades beyond the horizon, flip on the twinkle lights, pour a glass of wine, sink into the comfortable chairs and relax well into the night.
Tile flooring throughout helps keep the unit cool and the east & west facing windows allow you to take advantage of the breezes when the trade winds are blowing. There are fans in the living room, dining room and both bedrooms but when the humidity requires A/C, our brand new high-powered unit will cool off the condo quickly.
Kihei Garden Estates is a lush property. Enjoy swaying palms, fragrant plumeria and exotic tropical flowers throughout. From your lanai, you can watch geckos and iguanas and listen to the song of the Hawaiian Mynah Birds. A combination of permanent residents and vacation rentals creates a quiet, relaxing atmosphere you won’t find at larger resort complexes. You’ll always find an open chaise at the pool and a spot in the hot tub. There is a shared laundry room for each building ($2.50 to wash/dry) and we have provided a laundry bag for guest use.
We’ve supplied 4 Tommy Bahama “backpack” beach chairs with cooler pouches, a soft-sided Coleman cooler, 1 medium and 1 large boogie board, a small kickboard, 2 pool noodles, a beach ball and an assortment of pails, shovels and molds so your family can build an epic sand castle.
And finally, for all the techies that stay with us…you’ll appreciate our unlimited high-speed wifi and the numerous (8) USB charging ports throughout the condo.
