This really felt like home, this house has everything a family needs, there is even a closet with snorkeling and beach equipment!! So much thought went into the three patios with chairs to watch the sunrise at the ocean edge. The waterfalls and shopping are near, and the house and neighborhood are beautiful! Ocean waves provide the perfect sound fir sleeping.

Strange story, when we opened the door, there was a noise that I was just not used to hearing. I was wondering what it was. It was the ocean hitting the rocks right below the property. There was a huge smile when it took me 30 seconds to figure out what that noise was.
This place is a fantastic place to stay. When you walk in, you see the ocean. The house has everything you need to stay for our long weekend. It is an inviting home and such a peaceful place to be. We had a plan to go to Volcanoes NP on the day before we leave. But those plans changed the evening before because this place is paradise. We just enjoyed the home, the pool, and the ocean.
Some day, we will be back to Pahoa and my family hopes that this place is available.

We wanted a place right on the water on the east side of the Big Island to use as a base for exploring Volcano National Park, Hilo, waterfalls, etc. This was a great choice! It’s spacious, well equipped, and situated on the most gorgeous piece of coastline. Watching those waves crashing on the lava cliffs was mesmerizing, and falling asleep to the sound was wonderful. It’s in a great neighborhood for walking, and Pahoa has everything you need as far as groceries and restaurants.

The house was perfect for our family! The grandparents had the upstairs and our family had the down. Beautiful, well laid out home, with so much space! The kids were in the pool three times a day! There were beach towels, pool toys and snorkeling equipment for us to use. The kitchen had everything we needed even a small cooler so we could picnic around the island. Well thought out house, beautiful neighborhood away from city noise. We fell asleep on comfortable beds every night to the sound of the waves. Beautiful!

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the Big Island and our stay in this home was a large part of it! It is one of the best VRBOs we have stayed in.
We were greeted by chocolates, macadamia nuts, and cookies on arrival which was a warm and unexpected welcome.
The house is well equipped and maintained. The home was clean and smelled clean when we arrived. It also felt very spacious so we could spread out. There were helpful things like paper towels and Kleenex and extra trash bags. We had bought extra paper towels and toilet paper not knowing what there might be in the home. All the little touches were there.
The views from the lanais are breath taking- like from a magazine. We could see sea turtles swimming from the back yard.
The neighborhood is quiet and feels safe. We went on walks to a park that is just down the street and has more amazing views.
Our family enjoyed time in the pool and the easy access to outdoor shower and downstairs bathroom/ laundry. There were helpful items like a cooler and beach toys, pool noodles, etc..to use outside by the pool.
The kitchen was well stocked for cooking and you couldn’t have better views with meals by the ocean. The sound of the waves crashing against the rocks was fantastic as well. About 10-15 minutes away is a great grocery store, gas, and restaurants. Prices seemed fairly similar to those we saw in Hilo. In Hilo, there was a Target grocery store that had everything we needed to stock up for our trip. Thank you!

The property was clean and beautiful. The view was stunning. The solar heater had enough hot water for our family, the trade winds provided enough of a breeze to keep us cool . The last day we were there a tropical storm came and although it was very rainy and windy, I didn’t feel like we were unsafe in any way. It was difficult to keep things dry because of the humidity but that happens all over. I would highly recommend this place.

The sound of the surf and the views from every room are just incredible. Loved the neighborhood. The host was very helpful. The house was stocked very well. Large master closet and bathroom and great space downstairs for two teens to have their own room, own TV room. etc. while it’s not close to Hilo, the town itself is not far and so pretty it was worth the drive to the zip lines north of Hilo and Volcano National Park to the south. This is our second visit to this house and it won’t be the last. The house is immaculate and the views are outstanding from the beautiful sun rise to the crashing waves. It is everything you could ask for. The house does not have air conditioning but you don’t need it. The ocean breeze cools everything very well. Slept with a light blanket every night.

This was our Christmas gift to ourselves and our children that was a year's worth of planning. Our first time to Hawaii for our family of five and the house was as close to perfect as you could get! We went during spring break March 11th thru the 18th and the weather was magnificent! The house clearly states there is no A/C - if you go during the warmer months the upstairs may get a little too warm for you, but if you are in Hawaii, it's going to be hot and humid. The downstairs stays nice and cool and the pool is perfect to cool off in after a full day of touring and exploring. The house had everything you need and expect to have for a rental house. We had a great time and would highly recommend this space. Jennifer gave us clear instructions for our arrival and sent helpful information regarding the area and things to do. You could try to describe the views from this house but words cannot adequately capture the amazing sunrise views each morning.

Loved staying on this side of the island. Everything was perfect down to the amount of towels left, cooler and ice to use, recycled plastic baggies. The house was very open and the bedrooms large - much different than most cramped rentals. All in all it’s the best place I’ve ever rented. Lovely neighborhood and close to local food/grocery/restaurants - make sure to read the owners helpful tips book! We did a lot of trips around the island but we were just as happy staying at our home away from home! Thank you Jennifer! We hope to return very soon!

Most everything met our expectations at this ocean front rental. The place was clean, the kitchen had most everything my son-in-law chef needed to prepare meals (we were missing a coffee grinder though). We enjoyed listening to the crashing waves all day and night. The kitchen was roomy and the entire house had space for all of us 6 to spread out in. The beds were VERY comfortable and much appreciated. The pool was perfect for when we got home after a day of sightseeing. Such a treat!
There were a few little things that were a bit frustrating. The drive out of and into Pahoa was longer than we anticipated. It took us 50 min. to an hour to drive to Hilo and 50 min to Volcano even though Hilo was only 19 miles away and Volcano only 13 miles. So our driving time was not expected. There is only one road in and out of Pahoa. But I do love the area.
Another little complaint is that part of the cleaning for checkout time. The entire tile floor needed to be swept. We had only one broom to use and only a broom. For the amount of tile floor in that house it would have been helpful if there was an electric sweeper of some sort. My back was not happy after sweeping all that tile. I had to take several rest breaks. Just a suggestion. An electric vacuum/sweeper would have been wonderful.

Our visit started off rough when we could not access the house. We were able to reach Connie, and within 10 minutes we had assistance. There was a miscommunication on our arrival date, so the access code was not working and could not be programmed. The cleaning and maintenance crew had our departure date as our arrival date. Fortunately the house had already been cleaned, but it was sealed up and there was no air circulation, so it took quite a few hours for the house to cool down and air out. We were under the impression there was air conditioning, which there is not. There are ceiling fans, windows and a few floor fans (at least one does not work, and a second is marginal at best).
Visually the house appears as it does in the pictures, very well maintained but somewhat dated cabinets, tile, etc. It is a bit off the beat and path, but it is a very quiet neighborhood other than the amazing sounds of the waves crashing on the rocks. The views and lanais are spectacular and with the sliding doors and windows open (sceeens are there), the house maintained a decent temperature and amazing ambiance with the ocean. We enjoyed nature.
There is only one TV in the upstairs bedroom, and one king bed and a twin bed upstairs, with the additional beds downstairs. The steps are a bit steep so if you have family with mobility challenges, make sure the bed count works.
If you want a peaceful and relaxing environment with amazing ocean views and don’t mind being a bit of a drive from restaurants and activities, it is perfect. It is a very reasonable drive to Volcanos Park, and 25 minutes to Hilo. Reality is that Hilo itself does not offer a lot of high end accommodations or central areas to spend much time in. Lastly, the home has a solar water heater, with an electric backup. We had a very overcast and rainy day and it did not provide adequate solar for water heating for two days. It is noted in the house instructions, but it didn’t register as a significant issue until the water was tempid and then it was too late. Also, there are some contradictions between the house book instructions and the VRBO instructions, such as the Wi-Fi network name and password. It was easily remedied when we called Connie, but updating all of this information would make things easier.

Great house and location. We really enjoyed the lay out of the house, ocean views/crashing waves and the pool. Only two issues we had. Even with windows open, it still gets sticky from the humidity. AC would help. Also if you have a cloudy day, with solar panels for hot water, you will have cool showers in morning. We would like to come back again some day and are letting others know about this house when/if they come to the Big Island.

Jennifer's property was perfect for our family of 4. The kitchen and living room were spacious and modern, the bedrooms were large, and the pool overlooking the ocean was awesome. The cliff-side location was absolutely amazing and we could not be more pleased, the view was absolutely breathtaking. We could see sea turtles from the back yard. The house is conveniently located for groceries and close enough to activities like the beach and Volcano National Park, but far enough away from any noise. It was absolutely tranquil (except for a few loud birds and tree frogs(?)). Not having a/c did take a little getting used to but once the sun went down and the cooler evening breeze started, it was fine. Highly recommended.

This property sits at the edge of the ocean with the most spectacular views! The home is fully equipped with everything you need and the layout of the house is perfect for two families. The main level has the living room, dining and kitchen area along with the master bedroom with full bath, and another twin room and half bath. There is not one, but two lanais overlooking the beautiful crashing waves and sea turtles. The lower level, which opens onto another lanai by the pool, has two bedrooms and and sitting area. The communication with the owner is great. We enjoyed it so much, we have booked it again next April.

We had an issue with the lock on the front door and were able to reach Connie. She was already aware of the problem and took care of it quickly. The location was great for our family because we like a quieter vacation and not so "touristy", but others may want more activities close by so they should consider the Kona side of the island. We did quite a bit of driving, but there wasn't any traffic and it was easy to get around. You will need a rental car on this side of the island. We would definitely stay here again!

Having your own pool while being next to the ocean really made us feel relaxed. More relaxed than we would if we stayed at a busy resort. This is the 1st time we have visited the East Coast of Hawaii, and we fell in love with it! The house is fantastic! This property is absolutely AMAZING!! It is a must rent!! The house is huge, it’s clean and smells wonderful!! Yes, it’s smells wonderful! You have everything you need to have an awesome vacation. The pool was so relaxing and the views of the ocean from every room was peaceful. At night I feel asleep to the sound of the waves. I can’t wait to go back. The area around the property was just as beautiful and it is quiet which is what I was looking for. The property is close to the beaches, Volcano Park and stores. There was also a binder with plenty of information about the area, where to eat, shop, beaches and activities which was extremely helpful. Did I mention how clean and spacious the house is 🤯??? There was everything I needed and then some. The appliances are top of the line stainless steal and modern. I know this review is all over the place but there is so much to say and my body clock is on Hawaii time 🤣🤣🤣. Thank you soooooo much Jen for trusting my family with your house. Our goal was to relax and this was a great place to do it. We caught two beautiful sunsets, enjoyed hearing the roar of the surf in our ears, and went on day trips around Hilo. The king beds have comfortable mattresses and the kitchen worked well for us (use the bamboo sticks in the entryway if you, ahem, set off the smoke alarm cooking, say bacon…and need to reach it 😊). The view on clear days is truly amazing!!

Great house on the water - hearing the crashing of the waves made for great sleeping. Plenty of room, well equipped and clean. Did i mention the views? Well, i should. Amazing. If traveling in the "winter" (relative for Hawaii) do not expect the pool to be hot tub warm, rather chilly. Good location for trips to Volcano National Park (a must, especially if the lava is still flowing - and go at night for a once in a lifetime experience). Close enough to Hilo for short trips, and close to some great farmers markets that have fruit/veggies that this Northerner had never seen or had a clue what they were. Ask, they are glad to explain. Host was very easy to deal with and communicate with as well.

This was our third stay at this beautiful home, and it is still one of the best view locations we have encountered. We communicated with the owner and were able to gain access early as we were traveling from the Kona side of the island with refrigerated food.
The home has everything we needed for a comfortable stay, from the bed to the kitchen and pantry. The property location is good and the area is quiet.
We especially enjoyed the views from the living room and the two lanais go on forever. It didn't take us long to become familiar with the Roku television entertainment system.

The sounds of the ocean here were so beautiful. The waves always looked huge and powerful, and being able to watch them from our own lanai was amazing! The home was clean and comfortable, and the pantry had everything we needed to cook with. Beautiful little beach parks nearby, too, and we had some lovely morning walks. We jumped in the pool once but were too wimpy to stick it out (chilly!)--but it didn't matter, we had the best time anyway. Thank you so much for sharing your home!

Loved everything about this place. Its spaciousness, its location, its location, its location. Loved sitting on the rock wall watching the waves crash on the rocks and the occasional turtle or dolphins swimming by. Easy drive into Hilo. But especially liked exploring the roads to the new black sand beach, the old black sand beach, (Kehana), and the roads the just end because of the new lava. Did I mention that I loved the location?

Booking with VRBO can be tricky sometimes. Even if a place has good reviews, there can be some unexpected letdowns. Lack of privacy, unfavorable mattresses, noise, and misrepresented size of accommodation, are a few examples. This property is an exception to this. It is exactly what is depicted and more. Clean, comfortable, full of amenities, lovely veiws, BIG, and the communications with the owner were prompt and fantastic. If you're still debating whether or not this is the right place for you. Stop. Just book it. You'll enjoy all it has to offer. Have a wonderful trip!

Property was very nice and is right on a lava cliff on the ocean. It was wonderful sitting back and listening to the waves crash against the rocks. Inside and out is well kept. Half an hour to Volcano National park and half hour to Hilo give or take. Nice location to explore those locations, several falls and botanical gardens. Would highly recommended staying here.

The house was perfect. We loved the views and the sounds of the waves crashing on the rocks. Owner was extremely responsive. The house had everything we needed. Will stay again. Perfect way to end our Hawaii vacation.

The two story house had amazing views from both levels of the house. My husband & I and another couple stayed stayed here. Our friends stayed upstairs while my husband & I stayed downstairs. We both feel asleep to the sounds of the ocean every night. Definitely can’t wait to come back and stay here again!

The place was amazing. What a view when you walk through the front door. House was spacious and had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. Sitting out on the Lanais every day was awesome. Just watching and listening to the waves was great. House is close to stores and restaurants so that was convenient. A great base to stay at while enjoying the Big Island. Will definitely be going back!

Private and dynamic property with waves crashing against the lava bank just 50’ from the house. Puna area is fascinating, property is just six miles from the town of Pahoa. Groceries and restaurants are easy to access. Hilo is about 40 minutes away and Volcano is about 50 minutes in the opposite direction. The central location worked well for us.
Amenities well thought out and available for guests. Furnishings comfortable and appropriate for the house. Pool is for adults or competent younger swimmers as there is very little shallow water.

We absolutely loved the experience staying in the beautiful home. Being able to hear and see the ocean and feel the ocean breeze was unparalleled. Standing on the rock wall looking at the waves crash will always be one of my favorite moments. And communication with the host was absolutely amazing.

This is a spacious house, lots of room, and huge master bedroom. There are two patios, one good for morning sunrises, which are just awesome, and the other in the evening because you can see more waves crashing there. Internet was great, key for a family of five at end of the day. A good value for a house on the ocean, and with a nice pool! Highly recommend!

Amazing view and great location for exploring Hilo, Pahoa, and VNP. Property owner and near by caretaker were extremely responsive with any issues we had, which we very much appreciated. We had to go to the store for Kleenex and shower soap as neither were provided. The kitchen was one of the best stocked kitchens we’ve ever seen on a VRBO stay! My family enjoyed the pool, even in the rain!

I can't imagine a more lovely location.
Home is comfy and livable, beds very nice and kitchen stocked well. There is an ocean view from almost every room. Owner very informative, and provided many suggestions for places to go. Thank you for your hospitality.

This property was a great base location for exploring Big Island. There is a Malama Market within 10 minutes of the house, which was great for stocking up for the week. With the windows open, the house is cooled off by ocean breezes and the sound of the waves crashing on the lava cliff 50 feet from the master bedroom porch will lull you to sleep. Sunrises over the ocean and sunsets over the base of Mount Kea are a daily wonder. We were two hours or less from great locations to visit on the island. About an 50 minute drive south of Hilo and 50 minute drive north of Volcano National Park.
The house is well stocked with good cookware and small appliances with a large pantry. Grill area is sheltered from the weather and the pool is a great place to relax after a day exploring the island. This house accommodated our family of 5 very comfortably. We would stay in this house again.

You can not beat the ocean views at this house. As you drive up to the property, you see the ocean at the top of a small hill and the views just get better from there. We loved the home itself with the grilling area and pool to relax by in the afternoons after exploring the island. We can't wait to get back!
