My family and I, total of 7 people, stayed here and had a fabulous stay. House was very clean, bedrooms were very spacious….everything was so comfortable. Nicely equipped kitchen with plenty of pots/pans and utensils. Outside was very nice….plenty of comfy seats and a beautiful table for outside dining. Views were spectacular and the sunsets were breathtaking! You won’t be disappointed when you book this home.

I wish I could give this house 10 stars! It was immaculately clean when we checked in and ready for our family. The owner has thought of EVERYTHING that you would need to make your stay perfect. The house is in a gated community and the neighborhood is beautiful. This house has the perfect view from the back patio to relax and watch the ocean. But the sunsets! This house has the best views for those Hawaiian sunsets. It is close to town so commuting each day was never a problem. I would 10 times out of 10 stay here again and highly reccomend! The owner Kathleen was also very prompt with her responses and communications and is a top host! We hated to leave, but will be back to stay in this wonderful home!

This house has it all! Infinity pool with ocean views for days (unheated but the sun warms it up); 4 bedrooms with 5 beds available; ample storage (closets with hangers); toiletries (soap, shampoo, conditioner, qtips, basic sunscreen/aloe/bug spray left over from other guests in the half bathroom); plenty of kitchen accessories (air fryer, blender, kuerig and drip coffee); snorkeling gear/beach chairs/beach towels/sun shade.

When we saw the photos online of this house we knew it was going to be pretty but it’s nothing like seeing it in person…it’s just absolutely gorgeous! We spent every morning drinking coffee on the back porch looking out at the ocean and enjoying all the various birds that visited. Everyone loved swimming in the pool and eating our meals on the covered eating area outside. It was a great experience for all of my family!
(One tip - if you’re second guessing getting the AC like I did (in May) just go for it! We added it on after arriving and I’m so glad we had it because some days we really warm outside.)

We rented this property to celebrate a few 40th birthdays. It was perfect! The beds were comfortable, everything we could have wanted or needed in the home was provided including pool toys, beach bags, a pack n play and extra pillows/blankets. The pool was beautiful and the kids loved jumping in to the deep end as well as having a smaller attached shallow section to play in. The neighborhood is quiet and feels very safe. If we find ourselves in Hawaii again, we would definitely stay here again.

Everything about the property was beautiful, well maintained, inviting - just lovely!
While we had activities every day, it was hard to leave the infinity pool. Luckily we got back for a few fabulous sunsets. The house is just beautiful. Also well stocked with soap, shampoo, blow dryers-very nice added touch.

Hale Keani exceeded our expectations from the spectacular views to the spaciousness of the home to the beautiful outdoor area. This was the perfect place for our family of eight to spend time together in between all of our sightseeing and activities and create lasting memories. Stunning home, perfect for a large group or family. The layout is ideal and everything you could need is available to you. Wish we could have stayed longer! Can’t beat the view and the house is very well equipped.
The pool had some issues but the home owner did their best to resolve them. The garbage situation is also a bit to manage as you can only put out a limited amount. With a large family this can present a challenge. But overall these were very minor issues.

Charming property overlooking Pacific Ocean.It is modern with all the facilities.The outdoor pool are and kitchen are excellent for a family get together. The kitchen is modern. The living room is large with large t v and stereo system. Several board games are available for the kids of all ages. There are adequate beach chairs, umbrellas and toys for use.
We were a family of 6 adults and 4 kids ages 7 through 10 and all of us had a time of our life. The hosts are vey helpful and have opened their paradise for us to enjoy.. This was one of the best rentals we ever had.

The house was beautiful and the view from pool and back of house was incredible. The house was well decorated and spacious for our family of 6 adults and 2 children. The landscaping in front and backyard was so very tropical looking. Didn't realize jacuzzi indoors and at pool were not working at time of arrival at house. Children could play in nonfunctioning jacuzzi at pool. We paid extra for air conditioning in the home and it didn't cool bedrooms efficently, upstairs or downstairs. Thermostat programming limited us and temperature setting. It was very warm and humid in kona, and we needed the air conditioning to cool us. But overall it was a beautiful home and we had a wonderful time. Thank You, The Marx Family

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this gorgeous home. Katie was a most gracious host, willing and able to answer all questions before and during our stay. The house was immaculate and came equipped with everything you'll need, including beach chairs, pool noodles, and plenty of pool and beach towels. The best was hanging out by the pool and soaking in the spectacular sunsets and then star gazing later at night.
We paid for the AC, and for us, it was needed. It was a little tricky to work and it seemed the master bedroom and back bedroom did not get as cool as we like it, so we did have to keep the bedroom doors open at night. But, a small blip in what was a great stay that was loved by all!

Our family came to Hawaii to celebrate my mother’s 80th birthday (2 years late, thanks to COVID) There were 4 family units and plenty of room for everyone. The home was perfect for gathering at night after our days of exploring the island. On a couple of days, some of our group chose to just relax by the pool, which is beautiful and in the perfect location to take in the breathtaking Pacific Ocean.
The house had everything we needed, and more. Owner was great with communicating before and during our stay. The neighborhood is good for early morning walks, and quiet at night.

This house was absolutely a dream. From the start, Katie was very quick to respond to any questions before our trip. The house was even more breathtaking in person. This house had everything we needed for the week for going to day trips to the beach - snorkel gear, beach towels, beach chairs, a cooler, etc. The location was very convenient as well. The sunsets were amazing to watch every night from the backyard. This home did not disappoint at all!

Our family had a great time at this location. The house is spacious and beautiful and perfect for our group of 6 but easily accommodates more. The views, especially the sunsets, are amazing. There is plenty of seating indoors and out. The house is close enough to everything yet far enough to be quiet and away from the crowds. We have no complaints with this property and hope to visit again someday.

We'd planned this trip for months, almost a year, and found that everything was actually better than expected. The configuration of rooms, each with their own bathrooms suited our group of several couples. The kitchen was great to cook in, and the outdoor kitchen area was fun too. My favorite part was the outdoor space, the main lanai and pool area, which featured the surreal views you see in the photos. We spent a lot of time in the pool, and for some reason all 8 of us missed the fact that the hot tub that appears pictured in the listing isn't a functional hot tub; apparently the jets were too noisy for the neighbors so they were deactivated and the water isn't heated. I mention it in case it's something you're looking for. There is a lovely jacuzzi tub in one of the bathrooms though. The landscaping couldn't have been more perfect, and the birds and critters we saw were a highlight of our trip. The fragrance of the whole area was something we'd never experienced before, and lent such a dreamy touch to our week there! Katie was very responsive and friendly, and as others have said, there were plenty of beach/pool towels and beach chairs provided for fun in the sun.

We loved staying at this property!! It is a beautifully appointed, luxury home with everything you could possibly want/need and some nice extra luxuries (self-playing baby grand piano, massive TV with theatre like surround sound, outdoor kitchen/grill, etc). The pool is a nice size and we spent most of our time here and reading on the lanai. The views are even better than the pictures and we found this home was a great place to base ourselves and unwind after a busy week of hiking. It is quick to get into Kona with plenty of restaurant options here as well as within 45min (when you want some really upscale choices such as the Beach Tree at the Four Seasons…highly recommended). Easy access from the airport and to supermarkets. The hosts were lovely and extremely communicative; I wouldn’t hesitate to rent again!!

Our family enjoyed a great trip to Kailua for Xmas. The house is great and in a good location-we went to several different beaches within an easy drive of the house. The house is very clean, & well equipped, including those necessities such as beach chairs and boogie boards. Would we go back there? Yes, sure would!

We had a great week in this gorgeous house overlooking the ocean in Kona. It is in a gated community, which was very well located near a shopping center, activities, downtown Kona and points south. The house had everything we needed to make meals in, and great bedrooms (although none with twin beds if you have little kids). The house was equipped with boogie boards, towels, snorkel gear, umbrella, chairs, etc. Every sunset was to be treasured. Highly recommend for those who want easy access to Kona without being right in the middle of the town (which is nothing special). Grill was a little fussy and hot tub portion of pool was under repair. But these are minor issues compared to the overall splendor of the house.

My wife and I, our two kids, brother and sister-in-law, their baby, and our parents all stayed in this BEAUTIFUL home for 7 nights. The pictures couldn’t even do this place justice…..it is immaculate!
From the moment you walk in to the grand entryway, we were mesmerized by the perfection and beauty of this VRBO. Decor was very classy, not overdone. A/C works great. Kitchen has everything you could possibly need. Beds were very comfortable. Having individual bathrooms for every bedroom was excellent.
The back lanai is spectacular. Spent every morning out there with coffee, looking out at the ocean. The infinity pool was perfect as well.
Huge dining room table, large TV with amazing surround sound, laundry room, plenty of space to stretch out…..no complaints. And the gated community is gorgeous.
Shops, grocery, and restaurants are just a mile down the road. Definitely recommend Kenichi Sushi’s happy hour. Best meal on the island during our stay.
HIGHLY recommend this place to any Big Island traveler. 🌴

Words can hardly describe how beautiful this place is. The views, the pool, the open spaces for gathering. It’s PERFECT. We spent a magical week exploring the island of Hawaii. Snorkeling, hiking, off-roading, zipping and at the end of each day came back to this gorgeous sanctuary. We’ve been all over the world and this is the one place we would come back to. This was the most perfect property for our large family of 10. The house and views were beautiful, the house was fully equipped with anything we could have needed, the owner was VERY responsive and accommodating to all of our needs and questions, the location was amazing (about 15 minutes from Kona), the beds were very comfortable and overall the house just felt very clean and inviting. Upscale beautiful house with a nice Hawaiian touch. We especially loved the swimming pool. Sure, there are awesome beaches nearby, but being able to swim and look out over that amazing view felt incredible, and the kids had a ton of fun. The house itself was clean, and up to date. It felt big and open, the back door even opens up the whole back of the house to lovely views. Every bedroom was beautiful with very comfortable beds. The kitchen had plenty of spices and all the little things we needed to cook nice meals. We used the grill several times and ate outside on the patio most of the time. It was relaxing and nice. The neighborhood was great and was in a good location. If you like to try local produce you ought to try to make it to Cook's Bounty Fruit stand nearby! I got to try several varieties of dragon fruit and on top of that I had the best mango of my life! There is a cocoa farm nearby as well.
Working with Katie was wonderful. We loved every minute of our stay. We loved the Kona area!

My girlfriend and I just spent 10 fabulous days at this awesome home called “Hale Keani.” The home was exceptional! Beautifully decorated, exceptionally clean, and extremely comfortable. We slept like babies on those mattresses and enjoyed the cool breezes through the screened windows each night. The view is fantastic! We spent many mornings sitting on the lanai, drinking our coffee, peering through our binoculars at all of the boats, and watching the surf roll in—quietly—below. We parked ourselves at the same spot for the sunsets each night, too. It was truly peaceful.
The home is in a quiet subdivision, which was a plus for us. We drove to beaches both near and far and spent many dinners in downtown Kona, which is less than a ten-minute drive. There were several restaurants and a grocery store and drug store just minutes away. One afternoon, we took the tour up to the observatory at the top of Mauna Kea—truly stupendous views!—and watched the sunset from there. It was an experience I would recommend to any and every body (just bring warm clothes).

We enjoyed a wonderful 40th anniversary vacation at this spectacular home. The view is simply to die for. We loved counting the boats in the ocean each morning and enjoying the spectacular sunsets each evening.
The home is lovely and was spotless when we arrived. The beds were exceptionally comfortable. We enjoyed the house so much we actually spent more time there than we usually do when we vacation. The neighborhood is equally beautiful and very quiet. The location is excellent to see anything on the big island you like. It was a pleasure to return home each evening after touring the area.
One highlight of our trip was a sunset helicopter tour around the island. The whole flight was spectacular but seeing the lava flowing down to the sea was incredible. The later day time made the red lava easier to see. I highly recommend a helicopter tour if you are in the area.
The owners of the house are wonderful. Katie is a joy to work with and really cares about their guests. A stay at their amazing home is a real treat. I highly recommend this property.

We spent a week at this gorgeous home celebrating my 60th birthday with our family. There were 5 adults and 2 small children. It was absolutely perfect! While the house looks pretty amazing in these photos, it is even more spectacular in person! The house was immaculate and the furnishing beautiful! The outside area is great. We ate all of our dinners outside, watching the amazing sunset over the ocean. Plenty of staples were provided which was so appreciated. When I contacted Katie before our trip to see if there was a pack 'n play for our one year old grandson, she said that there was not and then bought one to leave for us to use. The owners are very easy to work with. If you are looking for the perfect Kona home to spend your vacation in, this is it!

Our family visited The Big Island last year and stayed in this wonderful home. We enjoyed it so much, we returned again! Last year we thought Hale Keani was just absolutely the most comfortable home our Family has rented during our trips to Hawaii, but this year it was even better. The owners, who are a delight to work with and are meticulous about all details of how their home is presented to guests, bought some beautiful outdoor furniture for the lanai. What was also added was an outdoor shower garden off the master bedroom. If you have never showered outdoors in Hawaii, trust me, this was special! From the spectacular weather, the sunsets from the lanai every night with a glass of wine in hand (saw my 1st green flash), and spotting humpback whales spouting and breaching almost every day......life is grand. Kudos to the property owners for sharing Hale Keani with our Family again. We will return!

My family and I spent a week in this lovely home. Everything was perfect and the owners were wonderful to work with. The house was fully equipped to "move in", including beach gear and towels, ice chests, boogie boards, umbrellas etc. Although beautiful, the travertine floors and large staircase were challenging with a one-year-old in the house. I highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a wonderful experience on the Big Island.

Really hard to put in words just how outstanding this home is, and how much it contributed to our Big Island experience. It exceeded every expectation we had prior to arriving. The photos on the VRBO website, while impressive, do not compare to actually spending time there. You can sense the owners take pride in the presentation of their home. It is clean, modern, and extremely comfortable. Lounging on the lanai by the pool drinking a cup of coffee at sunrise, or a glass of wine enjoying the spectacular view of a Kona sunset, all I can say is life is good, and the experience sublime. We will return!

We picked this home based on the other reviews and the beautiful pictures, but when we arrived we were still blown away. The layout, décor and location couldn't be more perfect. Very quiet and secluded yet close enough to everything. Even the Costco is only 15 mins away. The kitchen had every appliance, cookware and utensil we needed, and the island was our gathering place for breakfast just as I had envisioned when seeing it on this site. Each of the four bedrooms is very private with its own full bathroom and plenty of towels. Great wifi coverage throughout the home, too! We paid to have the AC and glad we did. While the home has plenty of windows and a nice breeze, it was pretty humid while we were on the island and needed it at night. Oh - and the beach gear (8 chairs, 8 towels, 2 umbrellas, 4 boogie boards, cooler) were great quality! There was snorkel gear, too, but we had rented our own before we knew it was all in the garage. Speaking of snorkeling, when you visit the island check out the manta ray and/or dolphin excursions with Ocean Eco Tours. Our party was ages 10 to 55 and everyone enjoyed those very much. We also visited a local coffee farm, and the volcano and waterfalls on the east side of the island. The cliff jump at the "End of the World" (only our 20/22 yr olds jumped) is literally down the road from the house. We loved our Big Island adventure and this home was a big part of it!
My favorite part was waking up early each morning, brewing a cup of the vanilla mac nut Kona coffee I purchased, and sitting out on the patio listening to and watching the pretty birds that visited. Or maybe my favorite part was watching the gorgeous sunset each night with a glass of wine and geckos. Either way - you will be thoroughly pleased with Katie's hospitality and genuine interest that you enjoy your time at Hale Keani!
