My family had a great time staying at Kamaole One! It was the perfect location, very centralized on the island in Kihei. The downstairs bedroom and bathroom were perfect for my teenage daughter and her friend. The bathroom upstairs was a little tight, but my husband and I made due. Also, changing clothes was sometimes a challenge - forgetting to close the top blinds!
I think we only used the beach out front a 2-3 times, but we loved sitting on the lanai drinking our coffee and playing games with the view.
The condo had what we needed for the week, except the snorkel gear probably needs to be replaced. We couldn't find a complete set for an adult. But, renting for about $10/day down the block was not a problem. The only hiccup we had was connecting to the internet, but Sharon was very responsive and got us all set up in no time.
Would consider staying here again when we go back to Maui.

We have stayed multiple places on Maui and in Kihei and this one takes the cake. The first thing we noticed (besides the breathtaking views) is that it was more stocked than any rental we've ever stayed at anywhere in the world. Maybe it was good timing from the previous renters, but there was plenty of sunscreen, condiments, and even some beer. There were so many beach supplies too (chairs, umbrella, snorkels, fins, toys, etc.). The AC worked better than other Hawaii rentals we've stayed at, and the electronic shades gave privacy with still being able to view the ocean. The kitchen is modern with a dishwasher, trash compactor, and a huge fridge. Sharon was communicative, check-in/out was a breeze, parking was easy, and the beach is so close. Highly recommend!

Location is the best on the beach. But rent from a different owner. Sharon has no concern for her guests, only how things affect her. She lied to us about the AC (it is a swamp cooler downstairs) and thought we couldn't read directions when cable & internet were dead on our arrival. Took over 24 hours to hear from her that she's sending the PM, who read the same directions we did and got exactly the same results—nothing. Another 24 hours and WE have to schedule the technician—but forgets to give us her passcode. So it's another round of texting and our first 3 days are sh!t. Both cable box and modem needed to be replaced. No apologies, in fact no communication at all from Sharon. Last thing we got was her passcode. (Happy to share by the way)
Okay, let's try to hit the reset. Time for a good breakfast—oh heck no, frying pan is dirty, full of old scrambled eggs!! Sent Sharon a photo... crickets. Then the construction started next door. I kid you not! Jackhammer tile demo. Sharon's husband Richard is on the board of directors for the condo complex. We find this out from the Property Manager when he came on day 2. If you're on the BOD, you know when someone is getting work done on their condo—especially at a 12 unit complex! Sharon's response? "Oh, she didn't tell anyone, and contractors are so hard to find..."
That was the last we heard from Sharon... hm, I hope she's okay.
Go to Maui, buy local, over-tip!! Just stay with a different owner!!

We had a wonderful trip. We have stayed at Kamaole One in a different unit in the past, and just love it here! This unit was tight for us as 4 adults, but it doesn't matter when you spend the day on the beach which is just out the door! We love the access to great local restaurants (Maui Taco and Coconuts being favorites) - and don't miss out on the Deli in the ABC store too!
We hope to come back again! Thank you!

The location can’t be beat. Beach and sunsets were spectacular. Communication with the property owner was excellent. The unit was clean, tastefully decorated and the kitchen was well stocked with anything you would need. We will definitely recommend this place to anyone we know visiting Maui.

I brought my daughter and 7 year old granddaughter to Maui and searched endlessly for the right property. We forfeited a pool to be able to stay right on the beach and so glad we did!
What a beautiful beach Charley Young beach is - very serene and literally steps away. I had my coffee on the lanai each morning at 5:30 and listened to the waves crashing and all the birds. So tranquil!
I chose this condo also because I didn't want to be in a large property with too many people - this was more intimate and private.
There was every beach toy we could have wanted: boogie boards, snorkels, flippers, umbrellas, towels, beach chairs - so much!
The kitchen was completely equipped with everything we could have needed. As is the case with most vrbo's we left paper towels, laundry soap, condiments, etc, as did others who had rented the space.
It was a challenge to keep the sand out but we sure worked hard at it. It's a beach house so we couldn't completely succeed.
The location was perfect - accessible to groceries, restaurants, other fabulous beaches. We had a car so drove to other areas of the island but really had all we needed on S.Keihi if we needed to stay put.
My only suggestion is perhaps a new coffee pot - I couldn't get a good cup of coffee - even with bottled water.
I never had to contact the owner once we arrived - all went so smoothly - from directions from airport to accessing the key and combo lock.
If I return to Maui, I hope to stay here again. Fabulous!

Been to Maui many times and by far the best location and beach access. Just steps away from one of the best family beaches we have seen. The condo is much better equipped than any place we stayed in the past. BBQ on the lanai and such a view. This is not a new place but has been tastefully updated and was just the getaway we needed! Hope to get back here again soon.

This location is amazing in Kihei. Super close to the beach, all the beach gear you need. Area is nice and quiet at night so we were able to get great sleep and wake up to the sound of the ocean. ABC store is close by and lots of restaurants a short walk/drive away. I would recommend this place to anyone and would come back again!

Great hosts, phenomenal location, wonderful beach, gorgeous view. Although there is no central A/C, the units they had in both bedrooms kept us comfortable. House is stocked well with everything you need to cook and hit the beach. This is the third property we've stayed in at Kamaole One and our tip is don't rent a big car - parking spaces are very tight.

This condo is located on one of the best beaches in Kihei. The kitchen is fabulous and well-stocked. The condo has chairs and boogie boards and snorkeling equipment and a lovely lanai where you can watch the sunset over the ocean every evening. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay again. The beach is lovely and big. The snorkeling was fabulous as well; we saw lots of sea turtles and even a couple of octopus and a few eels. I highly recommend this condo. The owner was very communicative and lovely to work with.

Since our last stay, she's made fantastic upgrades, including remote controlled window coverings - which are fantastic. An amazing stay at Kamaole One - we hope to return. The direct access to the beach and view of the ocean was the best part and the snorkeling with the turtles right out our door was spectacular.
The unit was very clean and comfortable. An elegant high end Kitchen - well stocked with cooking supplies was greatly appreciated. Charlie Young Beach was never crowded over 4th July weekend. Thank you for the opportunity to enjoy such a beautiful part of God’s creation.

This was the perfect location right on the beach with a fantastic view! The condo was very well stocked with literally everything you would need. They even had chip clips, which we are always forgetting and wishing that we had. There are several walkable restaurants and many more just a short drive away. The only thing that we wished we had was a bigger cooler, but other than that, the condo seriously had every other thing that we would have wanted or needed. The view from the loft bedroom was amazing as well. We would love to go back and stay again!

My brother and his fiancé decided to get married in Hawaii so my family loaded up and made our first trip out here. The condo had everything we needed to to make our trip easy and enjoyable. Plenty of beach items (chairs, boogie boards, umbrella, a cooler, snorkel gear, etc.). You literally could not get a better location. It is central to everything on the island and has easy walking access to restaurants, shops, etc. You would be hard pressed to find a better view of the ocean and sunset from balcony out back. Sharon was great to work with and very gracious as the owner through all communication. We would not hesitate to book this location again if we ever return to Maui.

This place is even better in real life than the pictures show. The complex is situated below the main street, nestled between single family homes, beautiful trees, mature landscaping and a private outdoor shower. It was well stocked with everything we needed for cooking and the beach. All the beds were super comfortable. The beach out front was never too crowded and there were even turtles swimming around the rocks! My teenagers and I hope to return to this same location again :)

We had a wonderful stay in this condo! It was the perfect size for our family of four. The kitchen is well stocked with any tool/ appliance you might need. The washer and dryer came in very handy. The beach chairs and umbrella were so handy. We had a great time!

Loved everything about our stay here. The condo has the best views of the beach both from the bed in the loft and the balcony where we spent the evenings. The kitchen had everything we needed including salt and pepper, mixers, nice pots, cleaning products, etc. It was a pleasure to communicate with Sharon. Lovely all around. I hope we can come back.
