On October 15th, guests can avoid the 14 day quarantine by getting an Authorized proof of negative COVID test prior to arrival in the islands. Stately and serene, HULA MOON is one of the most beautiful contemporary oceanfront properties in PUAKO. Each bedroom has a perfect ocean view. Located near the end of the road, you will enjoy year-round sunsets and privacy.
All vacation rentals must have a STVR permit from the County of Hawaii in order to continue as a rental. We were among the first to receive ours, so we are in full compliance. STVR-19-349600, NUC-19-441.
Puako has the best beach weather on the Big Island. Perfect blue skies, clear views of Maui. Lots of room for a large family and friends at this almost 5000/7000 sq. foot home on the beach. We do not have air conditioning, but fans and ocean breezes keep it pleasant.
We do not allow weddings, events, or any type of workshops at our home so please don't ask for an exception to this rule, because we will not host your event.
We also have a less strict cancellation policy than usual. Please see my generic for reference only contract attached under rates for details. You will need to sign a waiver and a specific contract in order to confirm your booking at Hula Moon.
As you enter through the gates, lush tropical plantings enhance the large courtyard swimming pool and generous lanai. The pool is usually between 78 and 88 degrees depending on the season.
Designed so that every room has a magnificent view of the ocean, you will love the open and airy feeling of this large and large contemporary home.
HULA MOON was designed for gracious living in a relaxed atmosphere. Including the covered lanais, you have almost 7000 square feet of indoor/outdoor living space. The two-story Great Room is very inviting with wonderful views of the ocean. The beautiful oceanside lanai has a dining table for 10, plus chairs and a punee for lounging and a built-in wet bar. There is a small sandy beach just to the left of our home, which great for relaxing or playing with the kids. People often snorkel in the tide pools in front of the house at high tide.
Enjoy watching the humpback whales in season, spinner dolphins and green sea turtles from the house. The Puako reef offers some of the best snorkeling and walk-in scuba diving on the Big Island.
We have four large bedrooms located at opposite ends of the home for maximum privacy. The Kona and Kohala suites are on the main floor and both have stunning ocean views and doors that open onto the lanai. Each suite has been beautifully appointed with new King mattresses and linens. Both have large bathrooms with a separate dressing area and a large enclosed open-air shower filled with tropical plants.
The two spacious upstairs bedrooms have expansive ocean views and a private lanai that runs the length of the house. The Aloha suite has a new King bed and a new punee (Hawaiian day bed) for relaxing. The Turtle suite has new Twin beds (that can be made into a KING Bed) and a daybed . The Turtle suite is a great room choice for the kids, or for parents with a young child. Of course, it is also perfect for for friends to share. Both upstairs bedrooms have private bathrooms with large walk-in showers.
Each bedroom has a TV/DVD player, There are 5 televisions with premium cable channels throughout the house. The office TV is only for viewing DVD movies and we have a large selection in the Living room cabinets.
There are ceiling fans, portable fans and louvered windows in every room. No air conditioning but if you leave the louvers open it remains cool and comfortable. Every bed has a blanket plus a quilt or comforter which guests often need at night.
If you have business to attend to, we have good Wi-Fi connection, and several work stations. The upstairs double office has a printer that you are welcome to use. There is paper and spare ink in the drawer. There is also another punee (Hawaiian lounging bed) for relaxing. This can sleep an adult or child if someone needs to sleep separately but let us know well in advance if this is anticipated.
Daily housekeeping, in-home massage, kayak rentals, catering and more can be arranged locally so please ask our concierge. We will do our best to give you some options so that you can make the arrangements for your perfect Puako experience!
