Poipu Beach Park, Kauai

Poipu Beach Park is the south shore's premier beach and one of Kauai's most popular beaches. The beach is split into two sections. One section is protected and ideal for infants and small children and adults new to swimming. The second section is called Waiohai beach and offers good swimming and snorkeling. In the summer when the waves pick up this is a very popular surf location. The surf break is over a reef and not suitable for beginners, but waves do sometimes break in the center area. Neighboring Kiahuna beach is usually where beginner surf lessons are offered. Poipu Kai Resort offers many nice condo options within walking distance to the beach.
