The home, view, and location were perfect. The en-suite bedrooms made everything very comfortable for separate couples. Played golf during the mornings and lounged around the pool in the afternoons. Best equipped house we have rented. Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed the house.

Beautiful house in an amazing location. We stayed for a week and could have easily not left the whole time. Well appointed, private & secure. The infinity edge pool with hot tub overlooking the golf course was a real treat. Ken was very patient in meeting us and going over the home. The owners were a pleasure to deal with as well. We highly suggest you open up the beautiful sliding doors each morning and enjoy the birds and weather that Hawaii is known for.

We were celebrating my husband's retirement and invited close friends to join us. What a beautiful home with a lovely owners and responsive Caretaker, Kenny. I enjoy when others post the pro's and con's on VRBO.
Pro: Everything thing you could need is there, from kitchen items to boogie boards, sand chairs, books, games etc. The view is gorgeous, from living area, master, pool and hot tub. Just wow. The guys loved the Theatre Room for football and having several TV's inside and out was fun. Watching the golfers play by on 16 from the pool and also playing the course at Mana Lani spectacular! The set up of the home for 4 couples was perfect everyone had their own bed/bath. Feeding the Koi fish daily was also a blast! Excellent amount of refrigeration and ice maker, wine cooler.

We have been to Mauna Lani a few times and this is as good as it gets. Easy communication with both manager and owner. Book and relax you made a great choice!

Our family of 7 including 2 kids stayed here for about a week and a half and had a wonderful time. The house is even better in real life than the description. It was impressively clean and had pretty much everything you might expect in a rental. In particular the kitchen was very nicely stocked. There was a very nice fruit and local snacks spread when we arrived, along with some bottled water, lots of K-cup pods, spices, oils, kitchen tools, etc. The non-stick pans were even in great shape and there were some knives that were reasonably sharp (a first for us in vacation rentals). All of the appliances worked properly, including the BBQ grill.
The pool and spa are probably the star of this show, and they did not disappoint. The crisp clear water of the pool made a great place to teach the kids how to snorkel and to observe the many different bird species that stop by to take a sip of water from the edge of the infinity pool. This is a great photography spot for birders. You also get a nice view of the golfers (and wild goats) that roam the golf course below.
The house comes with access to the Mauna Lani beach club which is less than a mile away. We never had a problem finding a parking space and the beach was a good place for the kids and also had pretty good snorkeling close to shore. There are also several fishponds near the beach that let you see many different fish species without even getting wet. We also saw sea turtles resting on the rock wall a bit further North along the shoreline. The utility closet at the house had plenty of beach toys (umbrellas, boogie boards, chairs, a cooler, etc.) so we didn't need to worry about renting any beach equipment except snorkeling gear.
The owner and property manager were very responsive to our questions and provided plenty of information ahead of time so we could be prepared ahead of time.
The air conditioning units in the property can't go below 74 degrees F. If you want to stay in an icebox this might not be the place for you, but the ceiling fans in every room made it perfectly comfortable for us.
Also, the house doesn't have a lot of inside lighting so some of the rooms are kind of dim at night. There might have been additional lamps we didn't find, but if you need a well lit space for crafting, work, etc. you might check with the owner first.
Overall we had a great time here and hope to visit again.

I’ve been coming to the island of Hawaii for 25 years. Without question, this home was THE most amazing place I’ve stayed. That sentiment was echoed by the friends and family members who visited or stayed there with me. We were there for three weeks and enjoyed the pool, the BBQ area, the spa and the expansive grounds and floor plan. Lots of privacy for everyone. The owner is lovely. Rent this home - I guarantee you’ll be delighted!

Just as the website described. Delightful koi pond and great vista of mountains and golf course. Dispersed sleeping areas allowed privacy and diverse agendas in the group. Kitchen could use more prep space, but very nice equipment. Fit our group needs very well, and Kim the owner a true gem.

A perfect home for a family vacation. We celebrated our 50th wedding Anniversary with our children and grandchildren. It felt like our own private resort. No one wanted to leave.
The pool was the highlight and the center of activity.

This was a well planned out trip for our family of 13. We rarely get everyone together because of locations and schedules. This was so awesome! And a lot of that is because of this property.
The outside was beautiful. And we could see it from almost everywhere in the living room and kitchen. The full length windows opened up all the way so we could always enjoy the view of the huge infinity pool and hot tub and golf course beyond. We had so much privacy in our rooms, which is also very important. We did do some activities and went to a few beaches, but we were always so happy to come home to this beautiful place!

The property is even better in person than in the pictures. The perfect property for four couples with complete privacy for each couple. The common areas are unbelievably beautiful. The owner and on site manager were very helpful and informative. We will stay again.

We have had the pleasure of staying at Kim and Steve’s beautiful estate in Champion Ridge for 2 family vacations now. Most recently we were there with our growing family including a 2 year old and 6 month old. The large pool and spa were perfect for everyone from the 6 month old to our 80 year old grandmother. The sliding glass doors allowed us the perfect amount of indoor/outdoor enjoyment and provided a safety barrier for our curious 2 year old. The house is very well stocked with anything you could need to dine and play at the house all day, every day, plus plenty of beach gear and access to the private beach club at Mauna Lani. Above all, we love how easy and stress-free our vacation was from planning through our stay thanks to Kim and her property managers, Judy and Ken. Wonderful people! We have stayed in several estates, condos, and hotels from Kona to Puako and Kim’s home is far away our favorite.

We have been visiting Mauna Lani as a family for 25 years, always staying at the hotel. This year we had our two adult children each bring a few friends and decided to rent this property, and it was absolutely the right decision. The owner Kim made everything easy for us, and the on-site managers Judy and Ken made sure that you had everything that you needed. Let me stress that I mean everything - beach towels, sunscreen, bicycles, all household necessities - the only things you had to provide were food and beverage. Add in state-of-the-art television with a seemingly endless library of movies and there is something for everyone to do, even when the sun doesn't shine.
But then, the sun is always out and the pool and golf course/mountain views are spectacular. As a quick heads-up, we chose to stock the house with food and snacks from Costco near the airport, but quickly found that the food and beverage prices at the Foodland at the Mauna Lani were very competitive which makes things even easier.

There’s not enough that can be said about the wonderful home Kim and Steve allowed us to use for our family vacation. What a beautiful place … the house, the grounds, the pool, the view, the amenities… just incredible. In particular, the ability to open the one dozen or so sliding glass panels provided an incredibly airy feeling to an already exquisitely appointed, roomy living room and kitchen area. We cooked on the outdoor grill frequently. All bedrooms are large, airy and very comfortable. The master suite, overlooking the infinity pool and expanse of the horizon was, uh, masterful.
Kim is an amazing hostess. Her communications and offering of suggestions and services involving our stay were very helpful. Kim has a great team helping her in Hawaii. Judy and Ken are very nice people and were very attentive to our needs and the property.

The owners and property managers of this home are outstanding. I rented this home 3 years ago and then again this year. It's in as good or better condition now than it was then so it is well maintained. It's 5 star for sure and they care about everything being perfect for your stay. It's an amazing home for groups with four full suites and lots of amenities including pool and other common areas. We spent more time just enjoying the home this time than last time because it was as if we had our own private resort. The kitchen and other rooms of the home are well appointed with anything you could need for just staying there and enjoying it. We were there 10 days and were sad to leave. A few things are within walking distance if you don't mind a short walk, but generally speaking you'll need a car. It's an extremely good value and way better than any hotel stay unless you need daily maid service and someone to prepare your food. I plan on coming back again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property.

Our family of eight, including two young children, had a wonderful Thanksgiving week at this lovely home. It is spacious, with plenty of room for together time, as well as private areas, where some of our group worked remotely.
The children had a lot of fun feeding the fish daily. They were so happy playing in the beautiful pool and hot tub that they did not want to leave the house.
Mauna Lani has lots of shops and restaurants, as well as a gourmet small grocery store.
I had planned lots of sightseeing excursions, but everyone was so happy to relax in the house most of the time.
Kim was a delight to work with.
I recommend this home.

We had the pleasure of staying in your beautiful home for 7 days in March and cannot begin to thank you enough. The house is perfectly set up to accommodate a larger group. There were 8 adult in our group and each couple felt as though they had their own private space, not to mention spectacular common space. The gourmet kitchen, pool and outdoor bar area were perfect for gathering together and socializing. The house is equipped with everything you need to enjoy your vacation from beach towels and chairs to boogie boards and bikes. The house was immaculate when we arrived, the pictures cannot capture the beautiful views from this house, it is breathtaking. Communication with the owner was a breeze. I hope that we can gather the same group and book your beautiful house for next year. Thank you again it was a trip we are soon not to forget! Mahalo!

We have been fortunate to vacation in Hawaii for the past three summers - Maui, Kauai, Oahu - and this was our first trip to the Big Island. I researched areas and landed on Kohala, and Mauna Lani in particular. Kim was terrific to deal with, answering all my questions ahead of booking, providing great information, and being flexible with dates as we confirmed our flights. Closer to our arrival date, we asked Kim to help us get a few groceries since we would be arriving quite late in the evening after a 10+ hr flight. We arrived when it was already dark, but knew the minute we walked in that the home was very special. Like others have said, the pictures don't do it justice. With a 6hr time difference from our home, we woke at the crack of dawn to watch the sun come up over the mountain as we sat on the expansive pool deck. We were just amazed by the home, the setting and the views. The indoor/outdoor living was paradise. The pool, hot tub and outdoor kitchen were incredible! The home is just lovely, with so many wonderful touches - including a very well stocked kitchen, which I appreciate greatly. I've often had to go and buy basic necessities at vacation rentals just to make a simple meal. Judy and Robyn were a delight and available if needed. Everyone in our family felt like they had their own private getaway in their rooms given the unique layout with the bedrooms in bungalows, and yet we all enjoyed our time together in the main house, making meals in the chef's kitchen and listening to music, and watching movies in the theatre room. The instructions and binder in the house made operating everything from tv's, to the projection unit, to the ipod docks a breeze! We did a ton of driving around the island over two weeks, but always loved coming back to the home to relax. We played golf several times on both the North and South courses at Mauna Lani and enjoyed it immensely. It felt like we had the course to ourselves, we hardly saw any other golfers when we played! We went to the beach club often, went snorkelling and explored the Resort area. Our family agreed that this was the most wonderful house we have stayed in for a vacation and we are already planning our return. Thank you Kim and Steve for allowing us to enjoy your wonderful home. It was a magical two weeks and we can't wait to come back.

A stunning vacation home. We have four couples who vacation together annually and this was by far our best find. We each had our own king bedroom and private bath, each being equally comfortable, allwowing us privacy, yet the main home with it's openness offered us a great common sharing area. The barbeque area was a gigantic plus where each night the men would hang out and talk about their day. Waking up early and watching the sunrise across the infinity pool and lush golf course fairway and over the Mauna Kea and Kahala mountains can only be described as a spiritual experience. The home itself was abound with amenities, everything you would find in your own home. It was also a very pleasant experience working with the owners, Kim and Steve, as well as with house managers, Judy and Ken, who were at our every beck-and-call. Can't wait to return.
