Honua Kai is a beautiful and fun property and this was our second stay for 7 nights. Our family (2 adults, 2 kids) loved the convenience of this unit's ground floor location. It provided easy access to the middle of the pool area and the beach beyond. The bunk beds were perfect for our 2 kids. The unit was spacious and tidy. We used the provided beach chairs, boogie boards, and cooler daily. Dukes was very convenient for drinks around the pool during the day and we had sunset dinners there to start and end our trip. We'll be back!

Very nice unit but needs new couch and new decorating. Needs paint in some areas and a new book on Maui on the coffee table. Otherwise, very nice process on the check in check out and the property management was very responsive.

Property was absolutely gorgeous. I loved that it was ground floor and only had to use the elevator to get to the parking garage. I wish the bunk beds were not so noisy and that every time you moved it didn't shake everything. I wish there had been more pillows, we used the cushions/pillows from the chairs. BUT, these are tiny little items and I would recommend this property 1000 times over to anyone and everyone and if it were just my husband and I we would stay there 1000 times over, but with two adults and two teenagers - sharing one bath was more challenging that I thought - LOL. But, this has nothing to do with the property, this is solely on our family. Anyway, loved, loved, loved the property. Best place in Maui to stay. Price and location and amenities were phenomenal. LOVED EVERY MINUTE!!!

We really enjoyed our time at the property. With 2 kids under 4 we loved the ground floor location to allow them to safely play. The 2nd bedroom doesn’t have windows which actually is a blessing for jet lagged kids. The resort itself is our second time and really like the place. Great location, nice walking path and of course we love duke’s. Some of the best beaches in the world are only 10 minutes away. Dan was extremely responsive with the few questions we had. The checkin process was a bit rocky with not being clear there were 2 different lobby towers, giant lines, uninformed staff directing us in the wrong direction to the unit, and only 1 wrist band for the entire family which made it a bit hard at times but all worked out and had a wonderful week. This is not the fault of Dan but the resort itself. We would return!

We really enjoyed staying at this place and were very appreciative of the hospitality and little things like the beach chairs, cooler, and boogie boards. That was very nice to have! The check in process was very easy and we had nearly everything we
needed for the property. I think the only two things that stood out that we didn’t like were 1) there was no coffee. There was a machine to make it but we were not supplied with any coffee at all and I found that unusual bc even at a hotel, you would get coffee for the machine. So my husband ended up having to buy it himself to make in the coffee maker but then he didn’t have the sugar and such to go into it. So I would say, it would have been nice to have those basics bc they would have been available at a hotel or any condo we’ve stayed at in the past. He debated brining the coffee left over back home but I told him to leave it in the condo bc I’m sure the next families will appreciate having it there. He agreed. 2) the construction and closed pools - I know the owner didn’t have any control over these things at all but I was pretty unhappy to see that they still had construction going on to the degree that we couldn’t even use the sidewalk near us at all and the two of the four pools were closed.
Other than those minor things, we absolutely had a magnificent stay and loved our whole experience in Maui!! Dan is a wonderful host and his on-site manager did check in on us twice during our stay which was also appreciated.

We really enjoyed our stay. On past trips we usually choose a unit with a view, but it was so nice and convenient to be on the ground floor. The kids could just run out to the huge grassy lawn and play catch or with other kids. Also was quick easy access to the pools and beach. The unit was well stocked with kitchen supplies, laundry soap, etc. Comfortable beds. Kids loved the bunk beds. Excellent communication with owner. Thank you! Hope we are back soon.

We LOVED our stay here. We traveled with a few other couples who stayed at other locations and this was by far the best. The condo itself is fantastic and well-stocked (with the only exception of toilet paper that we had to buy and kitchen towels) and the location in the building is amazing. We had a few kids and being on the first floor with the grass play area and ease of getting to the pool and beach was one of the best things about this place. Small thing, but the proximity to the elevator to the underground parking also made it so easy to get in and out.

We loved staying here!! The 1st floor access to everything, especially the coffee shop and beach for sunrise is ideal. The place is stocked with what you need. The beach chairs were so great to take with us and my kids lived the bunk beds. Highly recommend for a great family vacation!

When my family and I arrived we had food left under the coffee table with ants surrounding it. Also large spiderwebs in the corners of the ceiling. I texted the on island property manager and he was quick to respond. They came out the next day and vacuumed and cleaned the obvious spider web but left the remainders. Instead of bothering them again we just swept them out ourselves. We didn't have any dish towels but made due with the dish rags and paper towels provided. The property is beautiful and a lot of fun for families. We would stay here again.

Overall, we had a great stay at the condo. The condo was clean and in the best location with easy access to the pools. It was extra nice to have high-end beach chairs in the condo and coolers. We used both on our adventures! Additionally, the owner’s self made guide to the island was super helpful. We ended up switching our snorkeling tour to the one recommended. I was very glad we did. The beach recommendations were also on point and very appreciated. The owner was very communicative and instructions were well laid out before hand so we could immediately enjoy our vacation when we arrived!
My only minor complaint is that the property manager on site was not very responsive. He said he would bring us additional towels (only had 6 for 7 people) and a working remote for the primary bedroom, but we never received them. Luckily, we had access to the beach towels, so it wasn’t a big deal, but the remote wasn’t for any tvs in the condo. That was odd.
All and all though, my family had excellent trip and I would definitely stay here again! Mahalo!

Overall was a great rental. Very good communication from owner. Had an issue with the A/C and it was fixed promptly without any issues. Very clean. Fantastic location as far as convenience goes on the first floor. Boogie boards and beach chairs supplied which was great. Would rent again in the future!

We loved this spot. The resort is amazing for families, especially ones with younger kids. The pools and set up is perfect. The unit was great, and the location of it was the best in the resort. Easy to get around, no need for elevators, and it was clean and well set up. Monty and Dan were great hosts. Any issues were resolved right away, and they were incredibly professional! We would love to rent this unit again in the near future.

Our trip to Honua Kai was the most wonderful family vacation we could’ve dreamed. Everything about the location was perfect.. it was a short drive or walk from the village, but isolated enough to be able to walk or sit on a quiet beach without feeling overcrowded. The ground level condo was a game changer for our kids.. our oldest would take steps out everyday to throw the football, and our youngest kids had plenty of safe space to run. The condo was immaculate, and the communication from Dan & Monty was excellent. We will definitely be renting this condo for our vacation next year!

My happy place…here at Honua Kai. Comfort, luxury but family friendly. The best of Maui is here at Honua Kai. So thankful I was able to share my childhood memories with my family while staying in comfort here at Honua Kai. Absolutely love this resort. We had the best time celebrating my mom's 60th birthday at Dan's property. The unit was wonderfully located to the pools and a beautiful green belt in a low-traffic area. We could easily walk to Duke's or hop in our car for a short drive to other restaurants. The unit was comfortable and 6 of us (ages 3-60) fit perfectly. The beds were exceptionally comfortable and we all slept wonderfully after long days exploring the beauty of Maui. Dan was so kind and a true pleasure to work with. We will certainly be back! The condo was perfect for our stay and we’ll be coming back in the future. 2 bedrooms made for east nap time. We could sit on the patio and watch our 3yr old run around in the grassy knoll. Kitchen (plus proximity to the grocery store) was great for saving money for the minor meals and drinks. TVs in every room, washer and dryer, and located close to the elevator, trash room, lobby, and pool. Super convenient and really nice. Would fit 2 kids no problem.

The condo was just great, the right size, and clean and beautiful. It’s also conveniently located being on the ground and close to the pools, and there were about 4-5 pools to choose from . The report itself was nice and located next to the Westin villas. And the beachfront has some great snorkeling areas. We hope to use this again in the future.

The pictures and description of the property are very accurate. It is located in a central spot in the resort with easy access to the amenities. There are towel stations around the resort, recommend getting the next day's fresh towels the night before as they tend to run out in the morning. The resort is an easy 5 minute drive to Lahaina. Reservations at restaurants are hard to come by, but all of them do take out. Star Noodle is just as good eaten on the outdoor patio of the unit. I would not hesitate to rent.

Unit is just as advertised, felt very clean. Pictures don’t do it justice. Communication was great and check in was so easy. Being on the ground floor was perfect with a 2 year old as we had easy access to a large quiet grassy area for play and quick walk to the pool. Kitchen was well stocked. We had a very short stay as we had another reservation at a different resort, but wish we were able to book the entire stay here. We hope to come back next year!

We rented this property as part of a larger family group celebrating my parents 50th wedding anniversary. We were basically told to find any place at Honua Kai but choose your own spot.
I can tell you that we were 100% happy with our choice to rent this unit. The 1st level walkout was huge for us and made us feel like we had at least 200 more square feet as compared to the upper level units my siblings chose.
Maui is magical to begin with but this place really felt comfortable and was perfect for our family of 4. Our kids (5 & 10) shared the bunk room and after a day at the beach & pool or out adventuring there was no time to argue and they shared the space perfectly. It gets dark in that room and was really perfect to cure jet lag and reset. We would actually have to wake them up most mornings!
With 2 younger kids we opted to cook meals in the unit for several meals. The kitchen was well stocked and saved us a lot of money that would have otherwise been spent at restaurants.
The only issue we had during our stay was that the dryer door latch was broken and would sometimes stop early. However, the local contact that Brandon provided us was so incredibly responsive that I can say this issue became more of a positive than a negative experience!
You can’t go wrong with this place!

I booked this ground floor unit for our family vacation during Spring Break. The description of the unit and resort does not do it justice. The location of this specific unit is on the quiet side of the building with quick access to all amenities, pools and beach. It was outfitted with so many extras; beach umbrellas, chairs, boogie boards, spices for cooking and barbecuing, extra blankets and pillows etc.
The response time from the property manager is immediate.
The unit is very large, as well as the property. We had an amazing time and will definitely be booking this again.

We had heard from friends that Honua Kai was excellent, but the property and this unit exceeded our expectations. In my opinion, this is the best location on the property. The lanai never gets blasted by the sun, so we could sit out comfortably all day. The bunk bed room was comfortable for my 3 kids, ages 5, 7 and 9. The master bed was huge and very comfortable. We found the unit to have everything we needed and more, with boogie boards, sand toys and snorkel gear. The pools were unbeatable, with night swimming being a particular favorite. The beach isn’t swimmable due to coral but it was an easy walk or drive to several world class beaches. Stayed 9 days and could have added more! Overall thrilled and will be back. Mahalo!

This condo is just perfect! Beautiful furnishings, super clean, very quiet, right next to the central courtyard with easy access to the front lobby (where the best coffee is located!), pool and beach. Couldn't ask for better accommodations. Parking was super easy despite what we read in other reviews in surface lot right across the way. The beach is sandy and perfect for kids right at the resort. The pools and hot tubs were so great as well! We also got the takeout at Dukes several times which was easy and super delicious. We have no complaints and can't wait to return someday!

Absolutely loved our stay here! This is the perfect place for a family of 4 with school-aged kids to stay when on Maui. You have all the amenities of a resort with Duke's restaurant, bar, pool service and pools to keep the kids entertained. And then you also have the convenience of a condo with full kitchen, separate bedroom for the kids, washer dryer, pool toys etc. The best of both worlds! This particular unit is just steps away from the pool and the gorgeous Kaanapali Beach. The ground floor patio looking out of the grass was peaceful and the kids loved finding snails out there in the mornings. Really nice to have secure covered parking, wristband entry everywhere, and the on-site cafe...really you can just show up and relax. It's also located close enough to head down to Whaler's Village and Lahaina for meals. My friend was staying at a different condo & was very impressed with the quality & value we found here. we would definitely stay again!

Honua Kai unit 142 was perfect for our family vacation to Maui! Brandon really has thought of it all and has the unit stocked with pretty much everything that a family would need. We were impressed with Honua Kai from the moment we arrived. It's a beautiful resort and unit 142 met our needs perfectly. Our two teenaged sons were quite comfortable in the bunk beds, and the master bedroom was perfect for us. With high ceilings and plenty of space, the unit was roomy for the four of us. Being on the first floor right near the entrance was another plus. Brandon's detailed information packet gave us everything that we needed to know for our stay, and we utilized the included beach umbrellas, beach chairs, boogie boards, and coolers. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was helpful, too! Brandon and Monty checked in with us multiple times during our stay. With a location right in the thick of Kaanapali, we were close to everything. None of us wanted to leave at the end of our stay! I highly recommend working with Brandon on your next vacation rental, and Honua Kai unit 142 was amazing!
