Our stay at this home felt like a vacation in itself! The open layout was perfect for family gatherings, and the giant open kitchen was so welcoming that we spent most of indoor together time there. The lanai has an amazing view of Hanalei Bay and is cool, breezy, and instantly relaxing. We would have been happy spending a good part of our vacation just sitting on the patio. During the day we had multiple bird visitors, and at night, you can see the stars clearly. We even got several shots of the Milky Way. The house was super well-appointed, with everything we needed: a fully stocked kitchen with everything you might need for meals or snacks, beach towels, and gear, plus shampoos and soaps. The outdoor shower was an added bonus for rinsing off to help keep the house sand-free.The location couldn’t have been better. It’s right across the street from the Queen’s Bath trail, which provided one of the most memorable days of our trip. During low tide, we saw sea turtles in their natural habitat (from afar, of course!).The four bedrooms and three baths gave our family plenty of room to spread out, and while the rooms had A/C for comfortable sleeping, we didn’t need to use them. The ceiling fans and natural breezes kept the house perfectly cool.Lastly, the hosts were fantastic—clear and responsive about check-in, check-out, and any questions we had. This is a new favorite and we plan on coming back!

The view was beautiful but the dishwasher never worked, one bedroom had moisture in ceiling and grew a mushroom from it. It was obvious it was a known issue as there were several pieces of masking tape on the areas.

This property was stunning and the host has really thought of everything. My party of 6 stayed for 6 nights and we were so sad to leave. It had all the amenities that it lists, was clean, easy to access, easy parking and so so beautiful. The extra option to bike around Princeville and hike down to Queen's Bath from the driveway was even more special and unexpected. Highly recommend!!

We had an excellent stay. The views are of course stunning, with mountain, golf course, ocean and garden views. The property is very well equipped with top-of-the-line appliances, furniture, and utensils. The attention to detail was impressive; clearly the owners must have lived there or spend time there themselves to have appointed it so well. We barely had to contact the host/manager for anything. There were detailed instructions or markings for everything.
We saw some beautiful full triple rainbows one morning. The sunsets are beautiful, but since we were out most days during that time, we could enjoy it only one evening. The outdoor upper floor hot tub was indeed one of the highlights. The house was so spacious, we barely used all the areas. In fact we didn’t use the very nice living area in the lower floor at all!
We would love to come back and stay there.

My husband, 3 adult sons, and the beautiful ladies in their lives; enjoyed 10 days at this incredible VRBO. Besides having a million-dollar view (sunsets will never be the same); this home was appointed with everything we needed (and even things we hadn't thought of). The beds were dreamy and oh so comfortable; the linens fresh, new, and clean; the furniture high-end but welcoming and super comfortable; the decor was beyond inviting, elegant, and pleasing; all of the appliances were top of the line and in fantastic conditions; and the kitchen was stocked with every utensil, cookware, dishware, glassware, and small appliances- that we could dream up (even a French Press). The lanai was both breathtaking and functional- There were plenty of spots to carve out a moment alone sipping coffee and pondering the vastness of the ocean; to gather as a group and discuss our adventurous day; and/or to relax and unwind in the hot tub while watching shooting stars overhead. I have NEVER been more pleased and grateful, nor felt more at home, than I did in this VRBO. Last, but definitely not least: Eric (the host) was gracious and helpful- responding at a moment’s notice to any need or question. Thank you does not adequately convey the depth of gratitude I feel. We truly had the perfect host, home, and trip.. <3

We had a very seamless rental experience at the Punahele home. Our group was two families (including two toddlers and an infant), staying here for a week.Overall, this is a well-equipped and very clean house in an incredible location. The kitchen was excellent, and the lanai mind-blowing. If you like cooking with friends and eating outdoors while watching the sun set over the ocean, stay here.Only a few nits keep us from a solid 5 stars. First is lack of climate control. While individual rooms have small AC units, we had problems getting them to function consistently. The house has special windows to let the breeze in, but if you aren't used to heat and humidity -- and/or choose to stay here during the heat of summer (we visited in June) -- you might be uncomfortable.Second, the house does not come with amenities for small children (pack and play/cribs, high chairs, booster seats, etc). We brought our own so this wasn't a big deal, but plan to do the same (or rent) if you are staying with small children.Finally, there appears to be a small electrical issue with the hot tub. Pro tip: check it the day before you intend to use it to make sure it's on and heating the water. We found it off/cold because the fuse had been tripped, and it took a long time to reheat. Not a big deal (we found the box and reset the circuit) but a bit disappointing to not have it functional when you're in your swimsuit holding a cold beer.Overall, a fantastic experience. We would stay here again!

Our family of 4 visited for a week in mid-May. We were thrilled with this property - A/C in each bedroom and the family room in lower level with the Murphy bed was much needed during our stay for night-time comfort - otherwise we got along fine with open windows during day. After checking in and several days on the North side of the island, we decided it was a great choice as less traffic, beautiful beaches and undebatable views of sunset. We never used the hot tub (we have one at home). We sat on the deck daily. Kitchen well-stocked with everything we needed - plenty of kitchenware so you don't have to constantly wash dishes and glasses - though we kept everything clean to avoid any pests and never had an issue. Lots of pots/pans for cooking, store close by and great mgmt company response when the battery in the combo lock for garage needed replacing so we could get in and grab gear. Having the snorkel equip was great too! Walk to Queens Bath (across street) and to Hideaway Beach. We drove to Waimea Canyon, did waterfall hikes, snorkel, scuba and a coastal boat/snorkel tour. Recommend Tunnels Beach to snorkel as 2 reefs to explore. Super clean and comfortable beds. Our whole family was happy - everyone had own beds and the 3 3/4 baths were fabulous for us. Would definitely recommend!

This house has EVERYTHING you want in a vacation home. Great location close to the Princeville shopping center and Hanalei for shopping and restaurants. Close to many beaches to either hike to (Secret Beach, Puu Poa) or drive to Anini with easy access for families.The picture perfect views from the huge lanai are so relaxing and are the place to be for sunset. The kitchen is well stocked with spices and everything needed to cook family meals or pack picnics. The owners have decorated the house with tasteful artistic flair and comfortable furniture. No cheap plastic chairs on the lanai! Games, puzzles and tv’s for evening entertainment. Wireless chargers and a Bluetooth speaker are provided. They thought of everything. Plenty of beach chairs, umbrellas, toys, hiking poles and snorkeling gear. Also two bikes are available. The best rental we have stayed at!

We absolutely loved our stay in this home in Princeville. This home is very spacious and the decor is phenomenal. The view from the patio/ balcony is extraordinary. You can see the ocean the mountains and the golf course all together we are going to miss this view. The home is on the North shore which was perfect as we love the adventures this part of the island has. The house is literally across the street from the queens bath parking . We loved spending time in Hanalei Bay area which was a mile drive from the house. Right near the house is the Princeville center which has a Food lion a post office a few restaurants and shops. It was super convenient to have all of that close by. We appreciated the added touches the management company did like leave us canvas bags for shopping hand sanitizer local coffee and chocolates as well as shampoo conditioner and body soap. At the end of a long day exploring/ hiking/ surfing it was always nice to end our day in the hot tub and watch the sunset and once the sun goes down looking at the amazing night sky filled with stars. I was a little nervous knowing we would not have AC but to my surprise it actually got cold at night in the house and it stayed cool all day with the trade winds. Being from Florida we expected to be hot and sweaty all the time but it ended up being the opposite it's sunny hot beautiful yet cool and breezy all at the same time. We loved it so much we extended our stay and can't wait to come back to Kauai again!

The house was absolutely excellent with an amazingn lanai where we spent mornings and evenings.
The house was beautiful and clean. The only issue was the hot tube did not work for most of the time. However I believe they fixed this the last day of our stay.

This is a beautiful home with an incredible view. Hawaii Life has outfitted it with literally everything you could think of. Like, more than one type of blender, scissors, skewers for grilling, extra propane tanks in the garage, beach chairs and umbrellas, snorkels, extra linens, Saran Wrap, foil, serving platters, salad bowls. It just goes on and on. I have never stayed in a rental that was better stocked. We had a few questions and our contact was available on the phone and text immediately. This is a professional operation, way above your average rental company.

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The views are even better than the pictures do justice. We so enjoyed watching the sunset over Hanalei Bay. The house was spacious with a lovely kitchen. The location was great for getting into Hanalei but also other beaches closer to Kapa'a and there is a grocery store nearby. There were beach chairs, some snorkeling gear and boogie boards, which were all very useful and appreciated. The biggest downside was that the jacuzzi was not working, which our family was excited about using. But overall it was wonderful and we would recommend.

Our family stayed at this great home in Princeville. Gorgeous property in every way. Situated directly across the street from Queens Bath path/parking lot, so very busy street especially in July. But from the inside, you would not notice the constant stream of people at all.
We loved “our” beach by the resort (which is fully under construction). Loved the walk there. Great location for long morning strolls, discovering the nooks and crannies of this little slice of Princeville.
The house was super cozy for the four of us, parents and two teens. Plenty of room for more. The balcony overlooking the golf course and ocean was beautiful for morning coffee and a spectacular spot for gorgeous sunsets. Kitchen is fully stocked for cooking/grilling.
Kauai is chock full of tourists, and lines are long, restaurants packed, not to mention places are short staffed due to Covid. So be patient and have a plan B. Many of the popular hikes require permits too - so search places out before you go. Just be prepared.
I wish the hot tub were working. It wasn’t, and it was one of the things we were looking forward to. But no biggie.

Wow! Wow! Wow! The house is beautifully decorated, perfectly cleaned and the property mgmt. company provided everything needed. The real highlight is the lanai and the view. Waterfalls in the mountains, coastline ocean view and beautiful outdoor landscaping sitting on the side of a hill were magnificent. We spent hours sitting out on the lanai and enjoying the almost daily rainbows, sunsets and even the rain showers. We found we enjoyed eating meals outside on the lanai more than eating at restaurants. We were able to navigate the Hanalei daily road closures without impacting our activities and even though it rained everyday, the rain never affected our activities. You can't get any more convenient a location for Queen's Bath. The Princeville grocery store is convenient but you need a rental car (Uber/Lyft/taxis were in short supply). The downstairs living room worked perfectly as a 4th bedroom for us. The beach towels and other items were also appreciated and used. It did get a little warm in the late afternoon (without A/C) but the ceiling fans, coastal breeze and cool beverages overcame any discomfort. It was never too warm at bedtime. Hawaii Life Vacations really gets the vacation property management business. They provided all the details needed, required little to no follow up questions and provided suggestions and great laminated guidelines that didn't feel like lawyer written liability waivers. Bravo Hawaii Life! I was going to knock one star off this review when we found out that the hot tub was broken, but the house is just too good not to give it 5 stars. Kauai does not disappoint and Princeville is a great master planned upscale neighborhood. Enjoy!

Our stay was in August. We did not sleep that well as we were too hot. With no swimming pool to cool off in, it left us leaving the house when we were over heated. Otherwise, the place is perfect. Although the literature suggests there is no air conditioning, we neglected to look. In our past experience, a rental of this price caliber has always had air conditioning, so we did not think to check it. I would not rent this place again unless they installed an air con system - at a bare minimum in the bedrooms for sleep purposes.

The Hale Bali Hai was a wonderful home from which to base our Kaua'i visit. Close to shopping, dining and the Foodland grocery store in the Princeville Center, Hale Bali Hai is newly remodeled, with all carpets, wood flooring, furniture both indoor and out, and appliances in very good to excellent condition.
The carport was excellent for loading or unloading the vehicle during the occasional but brief rain showers, with entry into the home via a key secured in a lock box after climbing a set of stairs to a lanai, with a bench to remove your slippers after coming back from the beach. Inside the double doors, there is a set of steps that leads one down into the lower level, which contained two bedrooms )one king, one queen, both w/ walk-in closets) to the north, and a full bathroom and the laundry room w/ half bath across the hall. An additional living area was at the end of the hallway, facing east with two doors that opened to an area below the deck, with a hammock and small storage area containing body boards, lawn chairs, flippers, and various children's beach gear. Also, a sliding glass door exited to the south, bringing one out to the the carport area.
The master suite in on the same level as the entryway, and contains a double sink, glass enclosed shower, stool with plenty of lighting to prepare for the day. The king bed was very comfortable, with nightstands and lights on either side. Like all the other bedrooms, the master had it's own television, with cable.
Up one flight of stairs from the entryway is the main living area, with the kitchen, dining area, and outdoor lanai. The lanai is accessed via two sets of large glass sliding doors, creating a very open feel for the home. The doors off the dining area also had a screen, allowing for evening breezes without the bugs. The kitchen was well equipped, with quality appliances and all the necessary pots, pans, dishes, assorted beverage glasses, etc. one needs to create and enjoy a memorable meal.
The outdoor mostly covered lanai is a treasure, with an incredible view of "Bali Hai", lying across the blue waters of Hanalei Bay and the tidy green of the Makai Golf Course. The outdoor furniture was in excellent condition, as was the bar seen in the photos. Every evening was spent watching the sun slowly fade away, with a few candles to light the jacuzzi tub as the night sounds of the waves and wildlife gently sent us into calm relaxation!

We stayed for 9 days — eight of us for the first 4 days, and four for the rest. The house is in Princeville, about 6 minutes drive from Hanalei beach and 10 minutes from Annini Beach. The view, grill and spa are awesome.

We stayed at this property for 2 weeks and it was the best family vacation that we have ever had. This was our first time renting a house through VRBO and the experience was great. The property manager was responsive and helpful with anything we needed before and during our trip. He met us at the house when we arrived and showed us everything we needed. The house itself was beautiful with plenty of room for 6 adults! The location was perfect for all activities on the island of Kauai. The sunsets off the lanai were amazing every night! We enjoyed every minute of our stay. The house was clean and recently renovated with new furniture and carpet. We had dinner prepared by a chef at the house 2 times and those nights were our favorite time there as we could just relax and enjoy our family. We cant say enough good things about this house and its property manager! Both were fantastic and we would highly recommend it for a truly memorable stay on Kauai.
