We really enjoy our place, the grounds were spotless and the hammocks were nice touch. We did pick this place because it said they have a Bar/Restaurant/Live music on the premises, which were closed. Not a big deal, we had a kitchenette. We would definitely stay there again..

Walter was a great host, getting us in early so we could get on with our day without lugging around all our gear. We were on island to do work in conservation, and having a quiet, comfy, and clean place to return to at the end of the day was wonderful. Stayed at this A frame for 2 nights and it was the most peaceful, cozy, and comfortable stay in a warm climate that we ever had. The place was clean with everything that you might need for a vacation. It was so quiet and peaceful, except for the roosters. This is the place to get away from city life. Everything was very fine except for the loft beds. At our age, the first floor bed was too small and getting to the loft beds was tricky (had to climb a ladder to a low ceiling bedroom. Other than that surprise, all was great.

We had a great relaxing stay. The rental was in a great location. The lanai was a wonderful place to sit, drink coffee, read, and soak in the sounds of the local birds. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen was stocked well. We had plenty of bath and beach towels. Having a cooler and lawn chairs was a huge plus. Visiting molokai was wonderful. We enjoyed the variety the island had to offer from private beaches to the forest with waterfalls. We were able to unplug and slow down! I highly recommend visiting and this VRBO is in a great place!

We had the most relaxing vacation in years staying at the Hotel Molokai. It served our needs perfectly from being able to prepare our own meals to having a wonderful bar and restaurant on property for when we wanted to be more pampered. The pool was wonderful and the nightly entertainment was great. The only reason I submitted a four star overall rating instead of five was because we felt it odd that there was no shampoo provided. We purchased our own at a local market. We don’t travel with our own shampoo because of the airlines restrictions of no liquids over 3.5 ounces. That being said, it certainly didn’t affect our amazing stay and wonderful time on this beautiful island. Mahalo.

Exactly as described, super cute space that had everything we needed . Beach chairs , a cooler and beach towels included . The bed is a double which was tight for us but we made do . There are two other beds upstairs but we didn’t trust ourselves on the ladder in the night ! There is an amazing restaurant on sight as well as a bar and pool . A bonus was the little store onsite that we rented a beach umbrella for the day for 5 dollars . The grounds are gorgeous and well maintained. The info book left by the owner was full of helpful information. We rented a car for the week which allowed us to explore this beautiful island . Wonderful vacation!

I had the most wonderful month-long stay at Martha & Walter's condo. Walter did a great job of communicating what to expect before the trip and provided a lot of useful tips for getting the most out of the it. The condo was beautiful and came with everything needed to make for a comfortable stay, and its location within Hotel Molokai's grounds was a huge bonus. Everyone at the hotel was so welcoming. I was also impressed with both the meals at Hiro's Ohana Grill and the excursions offered by Molokai Outdoors - both located onsite. The condo was very centrally located, so was also a great place from which to independently explore the island. I hope to get back to Molokai soon and would definitely book here again. All in all a perfect stay - mahalo nui!

The property was amazing! The room was just what we needed, and there were plenty of kitchen supplies for everything we needed. Even had a Keurig machine, Keurig pods, and a hot water kettle to get us off on the right foot for the first morning before we did groceries!
Tips for future travelers: make sure that all of the window vents are closed (including the loft) if you’re going to turn on the fans and/or AC. The laundry facilities on the hotel premises are very reasonably priced, but the dryer might take you two runs to dry a full load.

Hotel Molokai was a gorgeous property and the hospitality of the front desk was exceptional too. The only thing to note is that the room's AC took a while to get cool. However, the kindness of Kenani at Hotel Molokai's front desk made up for it. I'd highly recommend a stay here. The property was a good location considering we wanted to go sightseeing. Furthermore - the unit & surroundings were very well kept. We will definitely return & consider our stay in this spot again.

Walter and Martha’s condo is located conveniently close to town where groceries, restaurants, shops and the only 2 gas stations are on island. The kitchen is well equipped with appliances, 2 kinds of coffee makers and dishes, pots and pans, etc. The ocean is not swimmable at the condo, but beautiful sandy beaches are a short drive eastward. Friendly staff and other travelers are at Hotel Molokai.

We loved our stay in Molokai and in this particular unit. Close enough to town to run in for supplies but very quiet. Love listening to the birds from our 2nd floor deck and love the little chicks scuttling around. Be aware that Molokai weather when we visited (May) was quite cloudy and the only huge beach is on the west side that usually has quite high surf. It was difficult to get in a lot of truly “beach days”. But we still had a wonderful time and managed to all get burned! Lol! Check out the abandoned Sheraton - best beach/view combo on the island. Also the lookout. Snorkelling and kayaking is fun. Night bread is very yummy. Go to Kumu farms for fresh produce. Wish there was a place under than a small food stand to get any sort of fresh fish. Paddlers bar and restaurant had great live music. Molokai is a wonderful laid back place to visit. It feels like how Hawaii is meant to be - not a high rise in sight. We really loved it.

The host had been one of the best ones I have encountered on communicating about the island and the unit--which is a plus, as there really are no guides on what there is to do on Molokai. This is a great location for your visit to Molokai. It is conveniently located a couple miles from town, and is in the Hotel Molokai where there is a restaurant, ice maker, pool, and coin operated laundry machines. The hammocks located on the property were a hit with my kids. This unit served us well for our family of 4 with our week long stay. The loft is accessed by a ladder/steep stairs--not an issue for our older children. I especially enjoyed the touches like the Keurig coffee pods in the unit. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves immensely. The accommodation was very comfortable and worked out well for the three of us. We loved the spacious lanai and the kitchen came in very handy. It's location was also convenient for just a brief drive into town. What was great about the property was that we had complete access to all the Hotel Molokai benefits; the pool, bar & restaurant (which happens to the best restaurant on the island), barbecue, laundry facility, etc. The landlord was helpful and flexible. Since they didn't have other guests booked to come in on our departure day, they were kind enough to give us a later check-out time. (Having a flight later in the day, that was a real bonus.) All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed out stay. A fun time was had by all.

I loved staying here! Walter was very welcoming and responsive to every need. The condo was spotless, the furniture nice and comfy, the kitchen has everything you need, and the view from the lanai is wonderful! I have always loved Hotel Molokai, as it has a genuine Polynesian look and feel, a beautiful ocean view, the pool and hammocks, central location, bar and restaurant on site, as well as a lovely gift shop, concierge for booking activities, laundry facilities available, and local craft vendors on Friday night. Yes, there are chickens and roosters, but that's part of Hawaii, and I enjoy watching them and they don't bother me at all--just adds to the charm of the islands. The hotel is very quiet at night. If you stay in this condo you are basically paying half the usual hotel rate, with more amenities, like a full kitchen, and a cooler and chairs for taking to the beach. I would happily stay here again.

This is an ideal location for the first nite or 2 while you get situated to the island.
The resort is small. Has a nice pool along the beach next to the resort restaurant-ohana’s grill. The food there is pricey but good and theres often live music. Note that it is closed on mondays and tuesdays. The waterfront dining is really nice.
There are 1st floor rooms with a second floor unit with lanais and lofts. We stayed in one of the second floor units. It was nice. There is a galley kitchenette and twin beds in the loft with very low ceilings. Everything was somewhat dated and there was way too much furniture in the space but overall it was a good stay. The grounds are impeccable. There are chickens and roosters roaming about, which we liked. But i can see others may not like waking up to loud roosters each morning.
The resort is between the road and the beach so quite a bit of street noise but i think thats the case for all the lodging near town or on the east side of the island.
Nicely situated to explore Halawa park and go snorkeling at murphy beach. Quite a few solid food options in town including the famous bakery, poke at the taste if molokai cart and ice cream at dave’s hawaiian ice cream.

The grounds are immaculate and very charming. I loved the architecture of the individual buildings (very “South Pacific”). The entire process was smooth from beginning to end. Walter and his wife were awesome communicators. Their home made me feel like I was home. They even gave me a things to see and do while on Molokai , which was very handy. I have family on the Island and even they were surprised at the things they listed. The condo was very tidy and clean+++. The fridge was small and there is no oven. I love to make meals throughout the day even if we do stay somewhere just for a few days. There is a toaster oven and an electric stove which I did put to use. The condo was fully furnished with everything I needed, so that was awesome!!! We had supper at Hiros Grill every night, the food was great, the staff were friendly and they had performances (singing and hula) for every evening we were there. The condo also has a nice private lanai which I very much enjoyed. I do attend a University so having coffee and doing my assignments online out on the lanai was the best part of my mornings. I am from Texas so I never did get used to the time change which no matter how hard I tried to sleep in, I just couldn't so my mornings started at 5 am just as the roosters crow.

We had a wonderful week on Moloka’i visiting friends, having island adventures, enjoying music, and staying at Walter and Martha’s cute condo/bungalow. Located at the funky and adorable Hotel Moloka’i, one couldn’t stay at a better place to access the entire island, and the atmosphere reflects the Aloha and sense of Ohana that permeates this island. The laid-back pace and warm culture made for a relaxing, while activity and fun-filled stay. Walter is super responsive and their unit is comfortable, clean and relatively well-appointed. Since there are a limited number of places on Moloka’i to go out and eat, we made great use of the small kitchen….even made Sushi rolls one night to take to a local potluck and sing-along on the beach. That said, the restaurant at the Hotel, Hiro’s Ohana Grill is quite good, is Oceanside, open air, and has a great bar area. The sunsets from the restaurant were spectacular! They’re currently operating limited hours, so plan accordingly, and they have music every night they’re open. We would stay here at this unassuming bungalow and hotel with the feeling of a village again when we go see our friends and new Ohana. Oh, and they have a great pool area; would be really fun for families…one evening we watched a beautiful family playing in the pool while the adults relaxed over tropical cocktails next to the bar and live music. This place was perfect. Close enough to town and away enough for even more quite. The unit was very clean and had everything we needed. It is just steps from the pool and restaurant. Check in was so easy. Below the unit are two comfortable hammocks- I fell asleep on them! Pool very clean and relaxing. Hammocks under the trees there too! The restaurant has very good food, very friendly staff, and a very relaxing atmosphere. Nice to hang out there at night and enjoy the ocean breeze. Walter is a fantastic guy. Very responsive and made sure we knew of places to go. I’m staying here again.

Easy drive to anywhere on the island, since the location is so central. Loved the pool, and the staff was super friendly. Our family of 5 enjoyed our stay in this property and recommend it. It was very clean, it had enough room for 2 tweens, a 7 yo, and 2 adults. The loft area was perfect for 2 tweens who thought it was sooo cool to have their own space! All the little amenities you might need for a stay were available- beach towels, cooler, fully equipped kitchen, oh, and first aid kit for when you scrape your knee onto the rocks! This is key because items are expensive to buy on island! The location is right next to the beach. Although this particular beach is not swimmable, we enjoyed swinging in the hammocks and using the pool. The host, Walter, was so good at communicating with us. They are decent, generous, people- offering us an extra night (because they were'nt booked) when our flight got delayed and missed our connecting flight to Molokai. That in itself would have given them a 5 star rating but the property itself and the town of Molokai earn 5 stars in the their own right! Stay at this property!
