What Do Guests Think? An Analysis of 554 Guest Reviews

Reviewer Portrait

The following executive summary is based on a comprehensive and impartial AI analysis of guest reviews. Keep in mind that all units are individually owned, and review scores among units can vary considerably.

Guests consistently love the location and views at this high‑rise condo building on the edge of Waikiki/Ala Wai Canal. Most say it’s an easy 10–20 minute walk to beaches, Ala Moana Center, and the main Waikiki strip, with countless dining options nearby—especially the popular food trucks across the street and Maleko’s bakery/coffee in the lobby. Upper floors and penthouses deliver sweeping panoramas of Diamond Head, city lights, and Friday‑night fireworks, which many cite as a highlight. Larger condos (including multi‑bedroom penthouses) are spacious, well equipped, and work well for families and groups; studios are compact but functional for short stays.

Expect an older building with mixed finishes across individually owned units. Many reviews praise clean spaces, comfy beds, beach gear, clear instructions, and responsive hosts (notably Steve, Ash, Tiffany, Eva, Frank). Others note dated decor, occasional housekeeping misses, small or tight bathrooms in some studios, and noisy/older AC; upstairs loft bedrooms can run warm. Recurring building‑wide themes include slow or intermittently out‑of‑service elevators (plan extra time, especially for top floors), occasional maintenance disruptions (periodic water shut‑offs, rare false fire alarms), traffic/siren noise typical of the area, and a pool deck/hot tubs and BBQs that guests enjoy but that aren’t always heated and can close for maintenance. Hotel front desk staff generally can’t assist private rentals, so communication is through the host.

Parking is a frequent complaint: the attached garage is convenient but pricey (often cash only, around $35–$50/day), sometimes with limited clearance and availability; some guests use street or marina lots as cheaper alternatives, or skip a car thanks to the walkable location and rideshares/transit. Overall, this property suits travelers who prioritize value, walkability, and standout skyline/ocean views over brand‑new finishes and hotel‑style services. Families and groups especially like the roomy, view‑forward penthouses with multiple bathrooms; travelers seeking uniformly modern, ultra‑quiet accommodations should set expectations accordingly or consider newer buildings.

Kitchenette is quite small. Although there are appliances to use to cook with, finding a place to plug them in is challenging. The sink is also difficult to use to wash plates & electric skillet.

Our family of 6 enjoyed the amazing views from the balcony and Friday Night Fireworks. The house is well equipped. The upstairs bedroom can get very hot. The building is dated, but the location is great. We loved the food trucks across the street.

Had glass on floor, it was terrible my daughter and i both steped on glass pierced our feet, and found small shards around the room. The floor was so dirty i was sending the owner a pic of my feet, i never noticed at the time but the pic of my foot has a few pieces of glass on it. We packed our stuff and left, The owner came next morning immediately cleaned the floor. Then my daughter when to take a shower after they left. Glass in shower. ( last customer broke the shower door) i called vrbo tried to get a refund to go somewhere eles. Owner said no downplayed how much glass was there and down played how bad an experience this was. He did come immediately again and clean the glass in shower. I was so frustrated, was on the phone times for 2 hours with vrbo, it was a nightmare. Look if stay here you will find some glass still hinding. I will never stay here again.

This condo is perfect for our family - 2 adults and 3 very tall teenagers. Having a condo with 3 bedrooms was needed. We put the girls in the master suite with the king converted to twin beds. We put the boy in the bedroom with the queen bed. We indulged ourselves with the fabulous 2nd floor bedroom. An added bonus is that everyone had their own bathroom with shower as there are 3 full bathrooms.

We didn’t need a car to get to shopping, food or the beach. The apartment has only minimal cooking items but its clean and comfortable. The bathroom is newly remodeled and is very nice.

The unit was great. Communication with the owner was clear and prompt, the apartment was stocked with everything I might need, the location was great, and it had convenient parking available for an extra cost. As an added bonus, Jerry at the front desk was very helpful. The only downside was that the sofa bed wasn't very comfortable for sleeping. I'd definitely stay there again.

So great condo, everything there as listed, with lots of towels. The host responded quickly. Wifi was fast. Close to the convention center, and room was reasonably quiet. The bakery near lobby was so great, and food trucks were across the street. Highly recommended it.

Communication with the owner was always good, friendly and quick. The location was perfect for our vacation; you're right in Waikiki, close to the popular spots. What we liked best was the view. You can see the sun rising early in the morning and have a wonderful panoramic view of Waikiki and Diamond Head.

Hotel position not so bad, no issues in the areaThe issue for us was when arriving, the access to the drop box key did not make sense, but eventually we got in. Can probably blame jet lag for that. The room size is ok, beds/sheets as expected. But the bathroom, it’s 10 years past a refit. The toilet did not flush, the flush handle just flopping around not connected to anything, could not get hold of anyone so had to take the top of the cistern off to access the release chain every time to flush. Looked to have been like that for a while as the cistern chain end had corroded off and can see attempts to temporarily fix. Also the shower/bath did not drain, it filled up to halfway up with shower water then slowly drained out over a few hours, disgusting, also dangerous as hair conditioner accumulated at the bottom of the bath making it slippery. Used the plunger next to the toilet to try and get the bath to better drain, the black muck that came out made me almost sick and did not change anything. We stayed for 8 days like that.Really think what you want from a holiday if you want to spend a bit more for better memories. We did for our last 3 days in Hawaii.

We had an excellent stay at this apartment. This is a no-frills studio but the view and location are great. As others have mentioned there are not a lot of lights in the apartment so if you need to work or read at night you will want to bring an extra light source.

May 2025

Small little unit but good location. Major issue was parking. Asked about it in advance, was told it was available at the parking lot in the building. We parked, checked in, and later security knocked on our door telling us we had to move the car. Texted the host and she wrote “due to short notice our parking spaces are currently occupied, and that parking needed to be paid in advance.” Good information to have had before we arrived! Not helpful. Security told us where to park off-site. Host did step up and talk with security later so eventually moved back to the ramp in the building. Had to move the car 4 times during a 5 night stay. Very stressful since we had activities planned and time commitments to work around.

We wanted to stay for 3 nights in Oahu for the cheapest possible in an 8 plus rated location. This unit fit the bill. This property is small, but has hard floors and is clean. The newly remodeled claim is not really accurate - kitchenette counter and back splash are newer - bathroom and rest of unit is tired. Unit has a closet which doesn't seem to be mentioned. And there is plenty of room for luggage - a few reviews indicated there is not even enough room to store bags - this is not accurate. The host responds promptly. Wifi great. Parking 45 cash per night for 2 nights; 50 cash for 1 night. We would stay here again.

Obviously, the views are amazing! The location is great. They really need to work on the cleanliness of the unit. When we walked in we found a used nasal wash thing on the counter, an open half eaten pack of cookies on the couch. The kitchen had so many ghost ants we couldn't use it or even set anything down on the counter. The main bathroom had a used bar of soap in the shower. The upstairs bathroom shower had what appeared to be blood on the walls. Neither had been cleaned. The parking was a hassle, no discount and they tried to charge for 5 days when I only stayed 4. One other weird thing, every morning there would be water on the floor near the bottom of the stairs. I think we used half the towels wiping it up. I couldn't find anything dripping and I don't think it was coming from the bathroom. Again, the view was amazing, the rooftop does need more than seating for three.

The location sit in the perfect spot off the Waikiki strip. Located near a ton of food options and three convenience store. Scooter and jeep rentals at the building and a short walk to the beach. This room is ideal for a couple or single. Only downfall is the parking is a bit pricey however, there is street parking nearby.

April 2025

The location was very convenient but I wouldn't describe it as "clean and renovated." It is in an older building and the interior of the unit is dated. I did not notice any remodeling. The parking is 50 (listing says 40) for 24 hours. Parking lot is connected to the building which is very convenient. Building security is very reassuring. There are cameras anywhere and staff at the front desk area to assist. The TV did not work. i tried using the remote with no luck. I reached out for assistance and someone was supposed to come by but I wasn't there and it didn't work for the duration of my stay. The Wi-Fi is not good at all. There were two options but only one of them worked. The connection was very unstable and I would get kicked off every few minutes. This was a major problem for me because I needed to work a bit but couldn't. Someone was supposed to come and check it out but not sure if they did and the connection did not get better.Communication with Shujie was excellent. I was also able to check in shortly before check in. I asked for late check out as well and it was granted which I really appreciate.Air conditioning was a lifesaver! Having a closet full of beach equipment and towels was also very helpful and nice to have. The listed has bottled water being included but it wasn't and there were stores close by that we could get it from.We did not use any of the building amenities (ie. pool, jacuzzi, gym, etc.).

My family of four had a wonderful stay. Steve was a fabulous host. This was our first trip to Oahu, and Steve was really great with his communication and sharing information. We loved the location and the view from the penthouse is amazing, as advertised. The PH is close to the beach, restaurants, and shopping. We did not rent a car as you can Uber or Lyft anywhere rather quickly. Waikiki is expensive, we reduced our expenses by preparing some meals in the penthouse and enjoying the million dollar view. You can walk to Walmart and Foodland for groceries and supplies. There is also a great food truck court across the street. My adult kids, who are foodies, loved the food trucks. And, the bakery in the complex, Maleko, is a gem. Save room in your suitcase for pineapple coconut jam and chocolate, coconut, peanut butter which can all be purchased at Maleko. If you want high end food and shopping, the PH is 3 to 4 blocks from glitz and glamour.

Great property and location! Would recommend this. Just crazy you pay all that money and then need to purchase parking on top of it even though the condo has a parking stall. Anything to make money I guess. The property could use the walls and baseboards washed. And there’s nowhere to leave garbage ones the bin in the room is full.

March 2025

We enjoyed the view, the sun, the bed, appliances, pool, and the nearby access to food trucks, restaurants, the beach, and many buses to the Bishop Museum, Waikiki Market, Diamond Head, Pearl Harbor, etc. The air conditioner is noisy as it labors to keep the room cool and seems ready to be replaced. We would certainly stay again.
