KS is great unit is horrible. No AC, ceiling leaks fixed by someone who has no idea how to fix and paint, unit appears to have never been upgraded, wall paper peeling, drapes in living area will not provide privacy, kitchen faucet leaks, fans in kitchen above sink and in toilet area strange looking, yellow growth. Bottomline don't rent this unit or drop price to rock bottom, friends came over and rented D3D for much less and unit is newly redone and beautiful. Sorry for the comments but we were less than happy with this unit and i would guess never updated. Go look at it and at D3D worlds apart. But thanks for quick response and replacement of dish washer. This unit and property was beautiful and worked perfectly for our family! We loved the private beach access and the beautiful sunsets every night. The full kitchen was great for being able to eat at home or to heat up our leftovers. We also appreciated having laundry in the unit. The unit also had beach chairs, a cooler, some snorkel gear, and kid sand toys! The unit has parking right outside the door, which is a huge plus especially with kids. The unit was clean and very welcoming. The upper and lower lanais added so much light and the ocean views could not be beat! A downside to the unit was the noise. Because of the windows and construction of the building, you can hear everything going on outside and from the neighbors. When loud cars drove by, neighbors closed their doors, people were talking, or even snoring, we heard it all. Just something to keep in mind! Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again if we came back to Maui!

It let our younger kids go down and play and be close to where we could check on them or be with them. We love the kahana sunset and had a blast however this unit is missing a few amenities in the kitchen. I had to buy a spatula and use a makeshift measure cup. The dishwasher smells pretty bad. Maybe this is tmi but there wasn't a plunger in the unit either Iits a great place to stay and amazing location, just needs a few updates.

If you’re looking for a high energy area with lots restaurants & touristy activities in walking distance, this isn’t for you. If you want to spend quality time with your friends or family relaxing on a beach with spectacular views, grilling meals, snorkeling, paddle boarding, swimming… you cannot beat this place. My husband & 3 grown kids had a fantastic time. The only down side was that the kids - not old enough to rent a car - had to rely on us to get around. That’s kind of stifling for young adults in their early 20s. Nevertheless, we all had an exceptional experience, with the many turtles a pleasant surprise! I’d visit again in a heartbeat. Strongly recommend. Thanks so much to the amazing hosts for sharing their hidden gem, along with the many suggestions for making the most of our 1-week stay.

We enjoyed our 12 day stay at Hula Hideaway. As first time visitors to Maui, we deliberated about where to stay - and the Kahana area where this condo is located was amazing. It was right on the water, with a small beach and swimming or snorkeling in a small bay. We watched the sunset every night and where able to see the resident sea turtles almost every day. The condo was just as described - spacious for the three of us, clean and comfortable, and well stocked with supplies. The host was communicative and responsive, addressing a minor issue with amazing speed. The beds were quite comfortable! We would absolutely stay again.

New property manager upon check, had to log into VRBO to see the communication. Did go seamless after that. Garbage disposal was leaking, really couldn't use the sink or dishwasher last 3-4 days. They did have someone come out, a bit to late. Rail going upstairs was into drywall and ripped out the rest of the way. Great location

Our Kahana Sunset Condo stay was truly relaxing and memorable. The two story condo offered plenty of room for us all, and amazing views of the ocean and sunsets. The condo had two balconies that provided plenty of room for all of our party. The 2.5 bathrooms were modern and accommodating. The kitchen and living room area, two bedrooms and sofas provided everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The condo facility offers several natural gas powered BBQs. The pool has warm water and ifsets the use of the private beach. No complaints and we would come back again.

We travel a ton -- I'll give my kids credit for being good travelers at ages 13 & 12. Lots of experience in hotels, etc. However, this place was absolutely the way to go. We had to delay our anniversary trip several years because of Covid, the after effects, and then even the fires. But we always wanted to come back and decided to bring the kiddos along.This place had it all for us. No idea why, but it just wasn't that buy at the resort. I'd estimate 30% full? We are not early risers, and still we were usually the first ones out in the morning (poolside, beach, laying out). Even during the day, it just wasn't that busy which was amazing. We were still relatively active and bounced around the island, but parking is easy. The place is great for R&R to charge up between your day trips. The little Napili market is an EASY walk that we made almost daily. We Turo'd from the airport, grabbed some supplies at the Wal-mart nearby like drinks in bulk. But on the daily, the little market (or even Safeway) were nearby. Probably hit Whaler's Village about 3 times because it's just so convenient. BTW, if you're considering the road to Hana and are hesitant because of this location, don't be. We were first-timers and made the drive easily. In fact, it felt like we were maybe 30 minutes ahead of every tour behind us at our stops. We left around 5:30am and it was a breeze. Long day sure -- but not that hard.Washer/dryer were greatly appreciated and worked perfect for us.

This condo exceeded our expectations on every level. This was our young grandsons first trip to Hawaii and our family was comfortable with plenty of space for everyone. Kahana Sunset has an excellent swimming beach that the kids loved. Bananas, lemons and papayas are growing on the property along with other lush vegetation making our Hawaiian experience one to remember. We will definitely choose Condo B2 for our next visit to Maui.

There were dead bugs upon arrival and they turned off the a/c which made the place smell really stale. Once we aired it out and cleaned, it was a nice place to stay. Perk of having a "private beach." Would probably stay again despite our initial welcome.

We had 11 of us in 3 condos!
Four grandkids under 5 years old.
The grounds were perfect for them, a great pool, small beach, grassy area to run around and a covered patio with tables near awesome grills that we ate at as a family 3/4 of the time.
The view was great, we were able to watch sea turtles feed at the rock right off the patio.
We will definitely be back!

We took our family of 6 and absolutely loved our stay for the week. There was plenty of space for our kids to hang out, great sleep accommodations, and an excellent location. We loved the pool and though the beach was quaint, our kids preferred to play there over hauling out to another beach most days. We even saw a few turtles swimming around near sunset. The condo had everything you needed for food prep though it might be nice to bring some spices and condiment packets for cooking. There’s also a Brita for water and bonus a fresh cold water dispenser for ease of filling up water bottles at the pool. We appreciated all of the baby gear for our 1 year old and tons of games, books and beach essentials. The only con and it’s not really one is that the A/C is on a timer and it clicks in your ear while sleeping but easily remedied with ear plugs just expect you may have to redial if you sleep more than 6 hours. Again we had a wakeful baby so it wasn’t terribly inconvenient. Overall, we’re so happy we stayed here over any resort or other location. It felt more like home. The grounds were beautiful, clean, and the residents seemed friendly. It was a good mix of older couples and young families so we felt cozy. Highly recommend staying at Kahana Sunset!

Our stay was great. the unit is roomy and the beds comfy. I got the best sleep. I had my own lania and could see the ocean. The complex is a few mins to the best best. Restaurant and a small grocery store are close by. the pool is warm and there is a sandy beach just a couple of mins walking. beach chairs are available too. the only thing is there isn't enough outlets to charge devices but i thought there was an ext cord in the kitchen and there isn't a bathroom downstairs so I wouldn't suggest this would work for an elderly person. We didn't end up using the sofabed so I can't give opinion. It was a great stay and like I said, West Maui has excellent beaches , Eat at the Sea House and party at Dollies! Oh the parking is tight but we had a small car. just an FYI.
