My family stayed her for a week in May (this is long overdue!) and had the most incredible time. First off, let me say how responsive, helpful, and welcoming Louis was throughout the whole process. It was our first time traveling to Hawaii with a baby and naturally we had a lot of questions that he so graciously answered. He made sure we arrived safely and even recommended food trucks on the way from the airport - they did NOT disappoint!
The property is well maintained and located right on the beach. The condo photos truly don’t do it justice A is even more beautiful in person. It was cleaned from top to bottom, and well decorated. The views were spectacular with both the ocean and Mountain View. Louis literally thought of EVERYTHING - there was not a single thing we needed that he didn’t have. We used the pack n play for our baby and he even had a high chair seat to attach to the chairs.
The property is in a perfect location to be able to get to Lahaina, Kapalua, and Whalers Village. It was nice to have Dukes for your convenience as well.
We will absolutely stay here again and hopefully can do it again soon. I can’t say enough good things about this place and highly recommend for a couple or family!

I had been wanting to stay at Honua Kai since 2015 but things never lined up correctly. This year we found this listing and were blown away. Louis was an amazing host. He explained the check in process in detail, and made all arrangements with the hotel staff. We pulled up to the valet and were surprised to learn that they were expecting us. They brought up our luggage and groceries. The unit was luxurious, and most importantly clean. We had breakfast on the balcony every morning. The pools were great, my four year old had a blast in the slide. The view from the beach was truly awesome. Lanai to the left and Molokai to the right. Thank you Louis for an unforgettable stay!

We loved the pool and Dukes on the property. The condo provided items for the beach which was fantastic. Loved the chocolates that were left as a welcome treat. The bed was very comfortable. We did feel that the shower could use some deep cleaning. Overall, nice stay!!

We had a great experience at Honua Kai and the kids will remember it forever. First, Louis is a top-notch host. From the outset of the booking to pre-arrival to being onsite, it was like having a concierge the entire way through. That in and of itself was worth a lot. The condo is very nice and has everything that you need and most of what you'd want (beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers...you name it). Location is also outstanding. Excellent experience and would definitely recommend Louis and this property!

What a great unit and so accommodating. Clean and had all the supplies we needed as a family with two younger kids (5 and 7). Louis was so responsive and excellent at letting us know exactly what to do upon arrival. The resort is amazing as always. The pools, water slide and close proximity to everything you'd want. This unit is particularly special because of the view of the ocean and the mountain. Both were truly stunning, I often found myself unsure of which way to face while out on the lanai. Watching the sun rise above the mountains while laying in bed is in incredible perk of this unit.
Honua Kai is a lovely property with dreamy pools and a beautiful beach.

Perfect vacation. The condo was beautiful and thoughtfully stock with everything we needed to enjoy our Maui vacation. The hosts were gracious and checked in to make sure we could access the room and offered tips on Maui. We had a problem with the A/C- user error- and the host graciously walked us through steps to correct the program. This condo was perfect for our family of 4. It is kept very clean and is stocked with almost everything you’ll need. The check-in process was simple and Louis was quick to answer any questions we had via text. Our kids loved the sand toys that were provided in the room, as well as there were pool noodles, body boards, and an ice chest that came in handy; among other things. Honua Kai is a lovely place to stay and we will be back! Thank you!

We stayed in this condo for a week and everything was just as described. We appreciated the well stocked kitchen and all the beach gear (chairs, umbrellas, boogey boards and cooler) that was available. Louis is a super attentive and responsive host, and his condo was perfect for our couples' trip to Maui. Condo is super clean, comfy, well-stocked with supplies, and the water pressure in the shower was extremely appreciated after a long day in the sun. We loved having the in-room washer & dryer because we could allocate more space in our suitcases for souvenirs instead of clothes. Would definitely stay there again! Mahalo!

This condo was perfect for our family of 4, we had plenty of place to spread out. It was very helpful having all the beach gear provided. The bed was really comfortable & the linens were so soft! I'm a picky sleeper so this was very appreciated. We couldn't have been happier! The pools and restaurant on site were great. The beach area was also gorgeous and perfect to walk down and check out the sunset each night. Luis was also very responsive and provided a lot of helpful tips. We'll be back :) Thank you!

Louis's consistent communication and attention to detail was very much appreciated during the whole booking process up until the day we checked in! Even while Louis was out of the country while we were checking in, he was texting with me when I reached out about us arriving earlier than anticipated. Always pleasant and helpful.
The place was as expected and perfect amount of room for myself, husband and two teens who used the pull out couch. Very clean and all amenities worked. Bed was comfy and we would stay there again.
The grounds were beautiful with multiple pools & hot tubs to use, ocean and snorkeling within walking distance, Duke's restaurant on location as well as a spa (services only), a couple small markets, and nice fitness center (according to my son).

My wife and two boys spent 6 night in March at this property. Louis was an absolutely fantastic host with easy check in, great communication and very helpful suggestions for our visit. The condo was beautiful and exactly as described. We found the condo to be well stocked and had everything we needed for our stay. The resort grounds were beautiful with plenty of amenities to enjoy. My wife and I could not have been happier with our stay at Honua Kai with Louis as our host. The unit was exactly as described with many premium touches and fully stocked with everything we needed throughout our stay. The unit is in a building adjacent to the pools and the beach. The in-building parking garage was similarly convenient, and we never had a problem finding a space. Check-in was as simple as showing our IDs to the valet and check-out involved just leaving our keys and parking pass in the unit. Louis was wonderful at communications, telling us everything we needed to know well in advance, connecting with us periodically during our 17-day stay, and giving us lots of helpful tips to make our time in Maui more enjoyable.

We had the most wonderful time in this very comfortable unit. There were many really thoughtful amenities, such as beach chairs, boogie boards, and a cooler for our times out on the beach. Towels were super easy to access through the resort. We loved taking advantage of both the pools/hot tubs and the easy beach access from our unit. Meals at Duke's was both delicious and convenient for both dine-in and take out. We also appreciated the cafe/market downstairs for a quick snack or coffee. Louis was super communicative and sent us lots of great info about Maui. Would highly recommend!

This property is exactly how it’s listed. It was so nice to have all the beach amenities, high chair, pack and play and anything needed for baby! Louis was super easy to communicate with. We couldn’t figure out the A/C, it kept shutting off on his. Within minutes of my text to him, he had called someone to come and fix it.
Our family loved the property - our first time staying here. We visit Maui often, but have never stayed at Honua Kai.
We will be back, for sure!

We had an amazing stay! The resort was beautiful and very quiet! The room was great, and the bed was super comfy.
Because the resort was in a quieter area we had to drive to pretty much everything, but everything was only a 10 minute drive away. We loved the relaxing feel, especially compared to other, busier areas.
The room came with beach chairs, boogie boards, and a cooler which was fantastic! It also had everything else we could need - laundry detergent, dish soap, etc.
The beach was rockier than south of black rock, but it had great snorkeling which was a win for us!
We would absolutely recommend this room and would stay here again!!

Side view of ocean saves money and is quieter! Louis is great at responding to texts and has great tips! Hokulani Tower is closer to the beach, Duke’s (get reservations way before 2 weeks ahead or line up at7:30 for breakfast), and two of the 3 pools.
While the beach is a lot more rocky than on the other side of Black Rock, if you have swim shoes and move south a little, it’s swimmable.
Bellhops carry everything up for you, including groceries if you stopped on the way in. You can park underground in the garage or across the street in guest parking. Everything is convenient.
If we come back to Maui, we will stay in this exact condo!

My daughter and I enjoyed our week at Honua Kai, unit 514. We had a beautiful ocean view and such a relaxing time. Snorkeling right in front of the resort, and Dukes has excellent food, right on the premises. The condo is only a one bedroom, but the den has a sleeper sofa, flat screen TV, and a nice kitchen. Perfect for 2-4 people!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Honua Kai. Perfect location and beach, beautiful resort. The condo was set up with everything we needed, including an aerobed so our older children did not have to both sleep on the pull out. The only disappointment is that the main infinity pool is closed for repairs. The other pools are fun but are fairly small if you just want to swim around. However we would still stay here again. And the owners are awesome. They will answer any questions you have and provide you with lots of info about Maui.

This was our first time at HK. It was a very nice unit stocked with amenities, extras and a great layout. You'd be surprised at the view of the ocean they have! From our first point of contact to throughout our stay, Louis was always very timely and warm in his thoughtful responses, always ensuring he would be there to help. While there is construction going on next door, the noise was not bothersome and our kids could nap daily. We are envious of the Trinh's beautiful second home! HK is also a great place for families as they have nice pools, a fitness center and Duke's onsite. If you like resort style vacations but still have the conveniences of your own place, this is a great choice. You also can't beat being beach front! Mahalo to the Trinhs for opening up their beautiful inviting home!

This is our 2nd visit to the fantastic getaway for our family of 4. Even with two teenagers, this 1 bedroom suite was large enough for everyone to have their own space. The kids played football in the courtyard and loved the pools and hot tubs. The extra amenities provided by the Trinhs: kitchen wares, boogie boards and beach chairs are an added bonus for us. Although there is construction going on next door now, it was not too noisy and we enjoyed sitting on the lanai in the mornings, dinners and evenings relaxing with friends. Louis and their property manager answered all requests and questions quickly and were always happy to help. Thanks, we are looking forward to coming back soon.

This place was the perfect home away from home for our family. This one bedroom condo has beautiful ocean views, a spacious master bedroom, and huge bathroom with a shower and tub. It was very helpful to have a washer/dryer and full kitchen at our disposal. Duke's is on the property and Whalers Village is a short, beautiful walk down the beach from the resort. The kids were happy that the pool had a waterslide and some waterfalls. The adults were happy there was poolside service from Duke's ;) From the outset, communicating with the owners was a breeze. Whenever we had a question, Louis went above and beyond to respond promptly. The day we left, the kids said, "Goodbye Maui house! We'll miss you!"

We had an excellent experience renting from the owner. The unit was very well stocked and he went above and beyond to help, between calling right after we reserved, sending detailed information in the welcome letter and tips, and having guidebooks in the unit for us to read when we got there. The one tip: Be ready to use the BBQs! The building has a nice set of four Viking gas grills you can cook on. Food in Maui is slightly higher than the mainland, but you can make a heck of a meal and save a ton of money over eating at some of the less than excellent restaurants.

We rented this condo for our honeymoon and had an amazing time. Throughout the rental process the owner responded very quickly to emails and provided a ton of information regarding excursions, places to eat, etc. The condo is exactly as pictured and more! It's fully furnished with appliances, PLUS the pantry is stocked with the basics so no need to purchase cooking oil, salt, pepper, etc while picking up items at the grocery store. There are also beach items like boogie boards, chairs, and an umbrella! The owners really made it easy for us to enjoy because everything was already available. We thoroughly enjoyed our honeymoon and plan to rent from the owners again on a future trip to Maui.

This condo is perfectly situated within a beautiful new complex located about two miles north of Whaler's Village. The fifth floor location allows easy access to parking, the pool area (consisting of two large pools), a health room (just next door) and Duke's Restaurant. The compact comfortable condo offers dramatic ocean and mountain views from the lanai and has all the comforts and conveniences of home. Louis was extremely helpful and was always easy to reach whenever we had any questions. There is an expansive beach directly off the pool area that is perfect for any ocean activities. Although the visibility was somewhat restricted during our stay, the snorkeling is excellent along the coral formations just off shore. If you're lucky you may spot some of the giant green sea turtles that make these waters their home. The Black Rock area is within walking distance along the beach walk, if you are up to the 1.5 mile stroll. It is also easily reachable by car with free parking provided for early risers. Duke's restaurant can be habit forming. They offer happy hour from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM every day and every meal we ate there was delicious. Try the fish sandwich or the beef tacos. One day sitting in the bar area at Duke's it began to POUR. The staff simply moved a few stools around so that everyone was reasonably sheltered from the deluge and we all happily went on with our meals. It was our most fun meal and made for some great pictures. Although for a fee there is underground parking available at the condo, we opted for the free parking lot conveniently located in front of the main entrance. We have been visiting Maui almost yearly for the past ten years and I would definitely consider Honua Kai again. Like I said, what's not to like?

This is a beautiful condo with an outstanding owner. He was responsive and helpful all the way through the process. The unit is in a great location and nice and quiet. The photos are very representative of the unit - we had a wonderful week. The location is perfect with easy access to Whalers, Kaanapali, and Lahaina. It was our 5th trip to Maui so we knew where we wanted to go, but Louis would have been very happy to assist with information. Our friends rented the 2BR across the hall which was equally wonderful. I would highly recommend this property. Lots of pool space - we never had a problem with chairs and a great beach.

Our Honua Kai vacation was filled with luxury and unbelievable beauty every second of every day! It started the minute I spoke with Louis! He is so genuine, warm, knowledgeable, attentive and insightful. He provided us with fabulous information and recommendations regarding Honua Kai and all of Maui! His information included wonderful restaurant, snorkeling, places of interest to visit and was a wealth of knowledge. Louis definitely goes above and beyond! He is your friend. The condo is extremely beautiful and so perfect! The kitchen has all state of the art stainless steel appliances and everything you need to prepare all meals. The living area is so relaxing and designed perfectly. The bathroom is gorgeous with dual sinks. It has a huge glass shower which is refreshing after a day in the sun! They have provided amazing towels and soap products to feel pampered. The bedroom is very large and has one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in! The lanai is simply awesome with gorgeous views of the ocean on one side and the amazing mountains on the other side. The best of both worlds! The people at the resort are all so joyful and gracious! Every single one! The delightful women at Aina started our days with their overflowing kindness and smiles and incredible pastries and coffee! We cannot wait to see all them again. Kimmie, of the concierge's office, was incredibly sweet also and managed our Blue Helicopter tour arrangement. Louis recommended Blue Helicopters and I strongly agree! The tour was out of this world and astounding seeing parts of Maui that roads do not take you to! The beach at Honua Kai was our absolute favorite place. The snorkeling is unbelievable! Fish just feet away from the beach. The coral is prime and second to none. You just have to experience it to try put it in words. The guys/gals in the pool/beach kiosk are so personable, kind and have marvelous skin products. Duke's was a true asset for lunch and dinner! All the people there and the food exceeded excellent! All in all, the Honua Kai has it all! Louis is magnificent and answers any questions or concerns in a phone call. The condo, the beach, Duke's, there is no need to leave the resort if you do not want to. Paradise awaits and we cannot wait to return to Louis and Kristine's condo next year! This was our best stay yet in Maui! We stayed next door at the Westin Ocean Villas, but HK was much better. We loved the condo and the owners. We are in the midst of rescheduling for next year. It's seems so much like a home away from home! The views are excellent from the lanai you get the ocean view and the mountain view. Very peaceful early in the morning. I sat there early every morning reading and sipping tea... The owners are excellent and they seems like family now! Thank you!

Our experience at Honau Kai in this spacious condo was very comfortable and a great start to our vacation in West Maui. We are owners at the Westin Villas and extended our stay by one extra week at the Honau Kai. The condo had a wonderful panorama vista and the fabulous lanai was opened by full folding doors which made the outdoors come right into the condo. It was very well equipped, especially with beach gear, (chairs, towels, boogie boards), clean luxury and comfortable.

Can't say enough good things about our recent stay at Honua Kai resort in West Maui. The one bedroom condo we rented from Louis served as a perfect home base for our two week holiday on the island. The accommodation was exactly as advertised -- we lacked for nothing. It was clean, comfortable and beautifully appointed -- a true delight to return to after a day's outing! We enjoyed lots of sunshine on the lanai with beautiful views and plenty of privacy. The resort itself is gorgeous. It never felt too crowded and the staff were pleasant and courteous. The grounds are lush and well maintained and the beach there is superb! We have already recommended Honua Kai to two other couples who are planning holidays in Maui later this year.
The biggest factor contributing to our great vacation was Louis himself. It was a true pleasure dealing with him. From our initial rental inquiry right through to our return home, Louis responded to every e-mail and phone call promptly with good humour and patience. He offered travel tips and endless suggestions on what to do, where to go, and when to reserve. On his recommendation we ate at Duke's Beach House (delicious --try the Hula Pie), attended the Feast at Lele (well worth the money), booked our whale watching trip through Pacific Whale Foundation (awesome) and sampled shaved ice from Ululani's in Lahaina (not to be missed!). Louis made sure we had plenty of information to make the best of our short time in paradise. His love of Maui is obvious and, in turn, we've fallen in love with it too! Thank you so much for sharing your home in Maui with us for our first trip to Hawaii! We expected the scenery to be beautiful and were so pleased that the condo was also just as stunning!
Every detail made our trip such a pleasure; from the well appointed kitchen with the top-end appliances to the extremely comfortable king bed and spacious bath. The view is just breath taking with gorgeous vistas in every direction – the inland mountains, the beach, ocean and Lanai. The amenities at Honua Kai made our memories of this time so special. Details like the garage parking, on-site store and restaurant added to the convenience and accessibility. We even saw spinner dolphins while enjoying our breakfast at Dukes.
Maui was wonderful. We took so many fun day trips based on your recommendations.
Indeed this will be the trip of a lifetime!

This was our first trip to Maui and we wanted everything to be perfect. We decided to stay at Honua Kai for 5 nights and Wailea for 3 nights so we could see different parts of the island. Our first 5 days at Honua Kai were truly amazing. We never had a problem finding chairs at the pool, even during prime hours. The grounds are just gorgeous with beautiful greeneries. We loved having Duke's Restaurant on sight. We found it to be fairly priced and we had some terrific meals there. Try the fruit plate for breakfast. My husband found the snorkeling right in front of the resort to be even better than Black Rock. I could see sea turtles from the beach!
We loved the location and walked to Whaler's Village twice. On the way back we stopped for a little snorkeling at Black Rock.
The condo itself is just lovely and had everything we needed such as beach chairs, coolers, towels, etc.
Louis, the owner, was very helpful with planning our vacation. He sent an email with lots of information and recommendations, and answered any questions that we had promptly. His enthusiasm for Maui was apparent when we spoke on the phone as he shared some stories of his trips and had many helpful suggestions.

My new bride and I spent 6 lovely nights at Honua Kai and it was wonderful. Everything was as represented and more. Honua Kai is something else. Lovely pools and a wonderful beach.
We did the snorkelling trip to Molokini. To be honest the fish on the reef just off the beach in front of Honua Kai were as good, if not better. The drive to Hana is really worthwhile if you go to the 7 Enchanted Pools and swim. It is such a wonderful setting. The views presented on the drive from Kaanapali to Kahului are absolutely spectacular. Road can be narrow with sheer cliff faces though. The Maui Ocean Center is interesting and worth seeing.
Louis, the owner was excellent answering questions and recommending things to do, places to eat and get groceries. Hit Costco for food and beverages.
We used the lanai every morning for breakfast and for drinks after dinner. The onsite grills are pretty convenient.
