Had a nice time with family. Surf was high so beach wasn’t usable for the young kids but the sandy area above it was lots of fun for them. Walking distance to public park beach when they wanted access to water.

This was a wonderful place to stay with the family. Kids liked: upper floor single beds, pool, property grounds for playing and obviously the ocean views with whales and dolphins in sight.
The condo has good AC when you need it, well stocked kitchen, beds are comfortable, washing machine works great, overall there is everything you need for a fantastic time. There are information packages provided by the host ahead of time which were great and easy to follow.
Location is great, a very short drive to some local restaurants, bakery, park, and easy to access the family friendly beaches within 5-10mins.
Some things to think about when visiting. We went in the ocean from the condo everyday, but depending on the season and how the beach comes in, the water may be right at the steps making it a bit tricky to get into the water with the waves. At night, the main bedroom does get some traffic noise - so you may want earplugs. Also, we found the upstairs cooler at night than downstairs due to the nice airflow from the fans.

We loved it here! We were in Maui for a very specific purpose and brought my mother to join us. We wanted a place where she could fix something to eat or just relax if we went out. This "home" was perfect for that!
What we learned, though, was the entire area is absolutely sweet, from the small businesses to the semi-private beach. Although the beach is small, it was perfect! There is a wonderful Honu (green sea turtle) sanctuary just to the side of Hoyochi Nikko, and it was an irresistible place to sit with our friends and swim in the ocean nearby. We actually got to "swim" with the turtles when they glided through the water. We loved everything about the beach and the area where you can sun yourself on top of the sea wall!
The actual unit was wonderful and very comfortable and felt like a home! The view of the beautiful Pacific Ocean woke us up every morning, and at night, the breeze was so comfortable, we kept the window open and fell asleep to the sound of the ocean and tropical breeze! Nevertheless, when it was hot, we were able to turn on the air conditioner the few times it was needed.
The location is the best and is walking distance to some wonderful local businesses and places like the ABC Store where you can pick up almost anything. Hoyochi Nikko is between Ka'anapali and Napili and Kapalua, so it's conveniently located between two resort areas without being in a commercial area that loses the charm and ambiance of Maui and Hawaii. The unit is clean, comfortable, and stocked with almost anything you could want for laid-back island living. Appreciated and made use of the cooler, beach chairs, communal bodyboards(!), and copious cooking gear. Host Bianca was responsive and helpful.
Condo is a little older, but meticulously maintained. It's quiet and serene. The view from the back will melt your face. Walk down the steps though the seawall into the ocean where a shallow reef extends out about 100 yards. The waves will break here providing for decent surfing and bodyboarding right from the condo!
As of Oct 2023, glad to say the vibe in W. Maui is getting back to normal.

The property is simply stunning. It's everything you think of when you hear the word 'paradise'. Flora, fauna, fantastic! Snorkel right from the steps into the ocean. Turtles travel back and forth from rocks all day!
The neighborhood is quiet, except for the occasional street traffic noise coming in through open bedroom windows.
Easy mile walk to grocery store.
Rental car allowed us to explore the island, but we would've had a lovely time without one - it's that perfect.

My one disappointment was the lack of beach, but the sea turtles made up for it! This was our first time staying here though we have been to maui many times. We loved the location of this unit and the loft came in handy for our family of 4. Mark was a great communicator and checked on us regularly to make sure everything was ok. It’s great that they have a property manager on site if anything needs to be addressed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Upon arrival our family of 4 was welcomed by an amazing ocean view and an immaculately clean condo. We were greeted by double rainbows over the ocean several mornings and the sunsets were gorgeous each night as we relaxed on the spacious lanai. The beds were all comfortable, and the kitchen well stocked with cookware, appliances and basic pantry needs. There were plenty of towels and we used the beach chairs and boogie boards to enjoy the little beach out front. The pool was great for my son who preferred swimming in fresh water. It was fun to swim with sea turtles right out front and to walk down to the food trucks and fish market. We also enjoyed the lending library by the pool and Patricia checked in to make sure everything was going well and she was lovely to chat with. We sincerely hope to return in the near future.

My husband and I had an amazing time at Walt and Kathy’s condo. We loved that it was a small building. It was very convenient and a perfect location. We did a lot of research for the best place to stay in Maui and we were so happy to find this place. Beautiful well kept property in a great location. The condo really has everything you need to hang out on the property or head out for a beach trip. It was clean, comfortable, and cool inside. We were able to enjoy the water out front and snorkeling near the rocks during low tide. We saw more turtles here than on the turtle town excursion. The pictures don't do justice to the amazing view you experience.

Plenty of chairs to sit and take in the views by the pool. The location is perfect as it is quiet but close to stores and food. This unit is wonderful. Super clean and beautifully updated. The lanai only has 2 chairs at the table and could use 1 more. Having air conditioning upstairs and in the downstairs bedroom kept the entire unit cool. A must for us. We will be back.

The condo was exactly as described!!! It was almost as if we could dive into the ocean from the balcony!! The rooms were a good size and everything we needed to cook in was here. My adult girls loved the short walk to get coffee and enjoyed a couple nights out at whalers village and front street which was a short 15 min drive. My favorite part of staying here were the turtles. We saw one basking in the sand and I got to swim with one while snorkeling!!! We will definitely recommend this place to friends amd family!

This little condo was perfect for my girlfriend and I to stay at for a week. Was a little disappointed that that sandy beach had been eroded away and was left with a lot of large rocks. All beaches in Hawaii are public. Only table for eating is on deck with two chairs. But why would you want to be inside? Nice pool and never crowded. We had a great vacation here. One thing - parking space is tight so don’t rent a full size car!

This condo is in a small quiet complex. The location is great and view from the lanai is amazing. The grounds are really well kept and the snorkeling was great most days as was watching whales off in the distance. The condo was well equipped, only wished we had found a beach umbrella. The space is small but perfect for a couple or maybe a couple and a child. My only critique would be that the condo could use some updating and some of the furnishings and rugs should be replaced or professionally cleaned soon, but honestly we weren’t there for the furnishings and nothing was so bad that I wouldn’t go back tomorrow if I could! Communication with the owners was always easy and timely and they were very generous in allowing us to stay a little later than planned. Definitely recommend!!

We had a fabulous time in Maui, and we couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay! The condo was perfect for 2 of us, and we felt quite comfortable and “at home”. The view is incredible - when you open the blinds you are literally right on the ocean with palm trees swaying in the breeze - no better place to watch the sunsets! The pool was larger than expected, the grounds beautiful and well kept, the grills in great working condition, and plenty of lounge chairs. Everyone we met was friendly and shared the same sentiment of the community. Definitely follow the guidelines for a small vehicle - parking was a bit tricky at 1st but we got the hang of it quickly. Kathy was easy to reach and we had no problems. Lucky you going here - we would book here again without looking any place else! And we saw tons of turtles every day!

Maui is our favorite place to vacation and this condo has been our favorite place to stay yet! Gorgeously redone, exquisite detail, so clean and ready, everything you need (no oven but who needs that on vacation in Hawaii?!) best view ever, right on the water, everything was perfect. DEFINITELY need a low profile car - we highly recommend the Mini Cooper convertible we rented! Also, there is not a traditional sandy beach right out front, the water comes right up to the wall but there are stairs going down and you can get in the water (everyone does who is staying there). Plenty of lounge chairs on the grass above for relaxing by the water, you just won't be on a beach per se. My daughter and I were surprised about that as it wasn't what we expected but it turned out to be just fine no problem and such fun. SO many turtles you can even see them from the lanai of the unit the water is so clear! We also saw whales every day! Best vacation spot ever and the hosts are delightful to communicate with and so helpful if you ever have a question! We cannot wait to return.

My family loved the Hoyochi Nikko. Swimming with turtles right out front, and watching whales from the balcony every day was amazing. And the grounds are beautifully maintained. Unit 202 did get a little warm in the afternoon, a mini split would fix that. And the patio furniture could be updated. Overall we loved our stay.

As always, we enjoyed Maui. We were celebrating our 43rd wedding anniversary. Our condo was perfect, the whales, snorkeling and turtles didn't disappoint either.
I highly recommend this condo at Hoyochi Nikko. Very well furnished and has A/C! The views are incredible right from the lanai. Look forward to my stay in October!

This condo was absolutely perfect for our time in Maui. The kitchen had everything we needed, and more. Everything was so clean, and the few questions I had were responded to right away. I loved being right by the ocean and able to watch the whales and turtles right from the patio. We will definitely stay here again.

Overall the condo was very comfortable and the views were amazing. My only slight complaints about the condo are that the parking garage is very tight with 5’7” ceiling so no big cars, the loft was very hot but they provided lots of fans, and there were a lot of the little fruit flies in the unit. Other than that we were very comfortable and spent most of our time outdoors. I loved the pool and lounge area behind the condo and the small beach with great snorkeling just offshore. Would definitely stay again.

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The highlight was the ocean view getting to see lots of whales right from the lanai, gorgeous sunsets as well as the turtles just off the shore. The condo was incredibly clean with a well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, and supplies for the beach (umbrella, chairs, boogie boards and cooler). All communication with the host was quick and seamless.
We hope we can go back one day in the future.

Hoyoichi Nikko is an ideally situated small complex with a great setting, beach/swimming access and well kept grounds.
The unit itself is somewhat dated and could use a facelift. Having said that, everything worked and we had a terrific stay. The weather was unseasonably cool so Lack of AC was not an issue.
Be mindful when renting a vehicle as the ceiling height for the units parking stall can only accommodate regular sedan type vehicles.
