I can't find anything negative to say. The refrigerator was quiet, the bed was firm, the kitchen for its size was the most well thought out I have seen, the patio with view was adequate, the small bathroom served all purposes, front desk was helpful and compared to some hotels and condos on Maui this was a bargain. This was our first time in Maui and we could not have picked a better place. The location was awesome. It was close to the airport and the ocean was literally right outside our door. Years ago we stayed at Kihei Sands with our young children and their grandparents. We returned this year after an absence of many years. It was delightful to see how well maintained the property is- the gardens are lovely, our unit A12 was in great shape, well equipped and very clean and the low key, very friendly vibe of the place was just the same as years ago. We weren't looking for a big resort experience for our family reunion and Kihei Sands was just perfect for us.

This small, 30-unit complex is a treasure! We rented units A10 and A12 on the ground floor -- just STEPS from the beach. The units were newly renovated with everything you could possibly need. The property is quiet and beautifully maintained. We had miles of empty, pristine beach to walk each day. Property managers Connie and Patrick were a delight. We've stayed at huge beach resorts before -- but Kihei Sands beats them hands down for beach access, privacy and comfort. We plan to return next year and many years to come. Expectations met and exceeded! (Also a short walk to an amazing bakery, grocer, and shaved ice stand.)

We had a great experience at Kihei Sands. The condo was very clean, well maintained and recently remodeled. Our unit was just steps to the quiet, long white sandy beach. We enjoyed our coffee as we sat on the patio and listened to the ocean waves. The grounds were well maintained and the staff clearly cared about creating a welcoming and clean environment for their guests. Looking forward to our next visit.

We rented 4 units for ourselves, our kids and grandkids. The setup worked very well and allowed us to get together when needed but also some quiet time. We would have communal dinners outside on the bbq patio when the little ones went to bed.

Unit A12 was our home base on Maui from Dec. 2 - 15, 2014. We had a wonderful, relaxing time and were generally very pleased with the complex and the unit, which are well-cared for. The king-size bed was VERY comfortable, and the managers' patiently answered all our Maui questions. We loved walking Sugar Beach, the calm water of this Maalaea Bay location, and exploring the island. Our only suggestion for improvement would some upgrades in the kitchen, which was serviceable but tired.

A-12 is very much in need of an update and absolutely should not be in the premium view category. When sitting outside the view includes the parking lot for the large complex next door and a peek of the Pacific. It feels like you are sitting in the parking lot except for the fence.The bathroom remodel is nice but there is not a place for wet swim suits to hang other than on the showerhead. The pots n pans and the toaster are past worn out. Decor is very "old". We heard the bed is new, but we found it to be very uncomfortable.The location on sugar beach and the patio with bbq's are the best features! Family atmosphere is also much appreciated.There was also construction to remodel an upper unit which at times was noisy. Perhaps construction could be limited to particular weeks during the year and guests forewarned and rental rates discounted during those times? Overall it is a great location. Individual units are privately owned and as such the amenities vary accordingly. We have stayed at the complex many times over the past 20 years and find some of the units are very nice and others leave a bit to be desired.

We very much enjoy the properties beachfront location. The view and the beach are spectacular. We have chosen Kihei Sands for our vacation destination for the past 4 years and have shared the experience with other family members including our Grandchildren. The benefit of a smaller resort complex is that we have had the opportunity to form friendships with some of the condo owners and special guests. We look forward to coming back again next year.

We have stayed in other units in Kihei Sands, and always been happy with the overall condition of the units,however, A12 needs some major improvement that need to be addressed by owner. The only good part was the new mattress. Would not request this unit again.
