Our first time in Maui and came early ahead of a business related trip. Booked this spot for the first four days and loved it. Easy to find, easy drive from the airport. The unit was extremely clean and comfortable with a great view of the ocean. Steps from the pool and the beach too. We had a rental car which made a big difference for shopping and seeing the sites. Host was great and answered the couple questions we had very quickly. We woudl definitely stay here again. You can’t go wrong with this soot.

The condo was exactly like the description and pictures. However, the view was much much better than advertised! Needed help with lock and Lucy was very helpful! Clean, well stocked and furnished. The amenities around the property (pool, chairs, beach and grassy area) were all great! In fact we extended our trip one night and stayed at the Wailea Beach Resort, the entire time we kept saying how much we missed Sugar Beach and it’s quietness. Made friends at Dina’s SandWitch shop on property as well! Great spot! All in all would highly recommend and look forward to rebooking next year! Thanks Doreen and Lucy!!!

First of all, Doreen was wonderful to work with. She was empathetic & flexible in working with us as we did a rebooking due to the Maui fires. While this area was fine, we had uncertainty on whether it was the right thing to still come. She helped us through this change. This bucket trip was in celebration of our 50th anniversary & it was everything we hoped it to be. The condo is perfect! Location, Location, Location. The view & sound of the waves are magnificent. Our recent stay at Sugar Beach Resort was fabulous. The view is spectacular! We had everything we needed on site.
It is a very relaxing and inviting atmosphere.
The only suggestion I have is to consider replacing the mattress. It is very hard and not the most comfortable. Other than that, this property is top notch!!!

This property deserves more than 5 stars. EVERYTHING was top notch. You can hear the waves crashing on shore as soon as you opened the door go into condo. Loved the 3rd floor, direct ocean view.
Did I say million dollar view? OMGoodness. We spent HOURS resting, enjoying 'home cooked' meals, reading on the lanai. I even found mini flashlight in kitchen drawer... used it to read outside at night to symphony of the waves. The lounge chair comfty for a nap!
The location was a quick 10min trip from airport, parking a breeze (free and plenty of spaces) and on same side as condo. Sugar Beach has 2 bldgs.
The beach felt private only few people walking by/swimming in waves at any given time
A quick 1/2mile walk down beach toward town-then cross street to delicious Sugar Beach Bakery and Ululani's Shaved Ice(worth the wait). ABC store close too.
Condo has all pots/pans/dishes/utensils you need. There are reg. Towels, beach towels, 2 beach chairs and small/lg coolers to use for excersions. The pool and hot tub were refreshing... the bbq grills were great!
Location very central to everything -- airport (target/costco/walmart), Lahaina (love the Front Street vibe and Banyan tree!), Kaanapali and even Maalea for snorkle tours... and to downtown Kihei (Pai Fish Market!) To Wailea. We enjoyed it all and then some.
A gracious Mahalo to The Appletons for offering their very special place. We hope to return to Maui sooner than later and will definitely stay at Sugar Beach.

What a wonderful unit! Everything advertised and more. We didn't need half of what we brought. The kitchen was overstocked. We didn't even need a corkscrew! A fantastic view of the ocean and close to every where we wanted to go to. Just bring your bathing suit!

Doreen was extremely pleasant to communicate with and her property was beautiful. The process of checking in is very straight forward and she informs you with all necessary information leading up to your stay. The property is in a convenient location allowing for easy access to all of the island, most importantly quick transportation to and from the airport (15-20min). We were happy to find that the condo was equipped with beach chairs, a cooler and beach towels to use during our stay. This resort felt like home allowing for a very comfortable stay for my partner and I for 10 days. Would highly recommend booking with Doreen for her service and the lanai view alone, everything else is a bonus! Would definitely consider staying again if we ever book a trip to Maui again!

Location, location, location! This condo is in the perfect spot to enjoy all of the beaches on the south coast, as well as the rest of the island. The unit was clean and well appointed. It had everything you need to stay comfortably + more. Having the ocean right outside your door was amazing. We walked the beach each morning and watched the sunsets each night. We were able to see whales daily from the lanai and we even saw a shark looking for breakfast one morning! We were grateful for the beach chairs that came with the unit too! The unit is close to grocery stores, restaurants and anything else you need but the ideal location in the center of the island made it easy to get any where. We would definitely recommend it to others and would rent it again on our next trip to Maui!

It was such a pleasure to wake up every morning to this beach front view! The location was very conveniently, centrally located on Maui. The condo was well equipped with some recent upgrades. In unit washer/dryer a plus. Loved all tile floors and no carpet. Beautiful sandy beach and pool area with hot tub. The owner, Doreen, very responsive to my questions about what was supplied so we would know what to bring. For example, they provide beautiful beach towels. We will be back for sure!

We loved our time in this beautiful condo, with so many extras and all the comforts of home. From the comfortable king size bed to the well equipped kitchen, all the extras like plenty of towels and hangers, and nice comfortable furniture on the lanai, where we spent plenty of time enjoying our meals and the stunning views and sounds of the waves on the beach. We could not be happier with our time here.

Beautiful location right on Sugar Beach. There was always something exceptional to view and enjoy: Sunsets, Outrigger Canoes in the morning, people watching and hearing the sound of the waves breaking. Walks in the sand on Sugar Beach every morning was a plus. The unit was well appointed and very comfortable. I would definitely come back.

We spent an outstanding vacation in this beautiful rental. It was as advertised: well equipped, great central location on the island, nice pool, wonderful views and awesome sounds of ocean waves. We found many wonderful swimming beaches, went snorkling and saw ocean turtles. We hope to return to this wonderful unit. It quickly became one of our all-time favorites. Side note that we never could fiqure out how to get the TV to work but we spent so much time on the lanai that we're actually glad we skipped television for a week.

We loved our stay at Sugar Beach in Kihei! The unit was perfectly located for us to hit all our destinations while also allowing us to relax locally with great beaches. I highly recommend this spot with AC, in unit washer and dryer as well as parking. Wish we had time to use the hot tub but we fully enjoyed meals on the lanai every day. The beach chairs and umbrella could be updated but having those provided was a plus. We were grateful to be able to take them with us to the beach. Thank you Doreen!

We loved everything about this little slice of Heaven. The location is great. Central to everything and yet a quiet escape from the busy areas. The view is stellar and relaxing. Everything about this condo and the complex is wonderful—and just like advertised. The oceanfront location is perfect and we loved sitting out on the comfortable lanai watching the waves. And the beach in front is perfect for a morning walk or ocean dip. We also enjoyed sitting around the pool and enjoying the resort amenities. The central air conditioning was a definite plus, even though it never got too hot when we were there. And the kitchen was well stocked and modern. Finally, the communication with Doreen was first rate. We will be back and stay longer next time!

First time here, already booked two more stays. Perfect for two, magnificent view of the Bay. Clean, very neat, lovely Hawaiian decor, complete kitchen, nice king-size bed. Lanai is perfect for whale watching, star gazing at night. Right on the beach, waves crashing in your ears. This is really a primo property, worth every dollar!

We stayed at this property for a week and it did not disappoint. The views were amazing and the pictures do not do it justice. Our check-in process was super fast and easy and the condo had everything we needed from shampoo to sunscreen even beach chairs. The condo was also fully stocked with a spice drawer blender pots and pans and silverware. Would 100% recommend staying here we will for sure be coming back in the near future!

This is a nice place to stay. Great view from the room, nice room, good walkable beach, functional kitchen, very clean. My only complaint is that the AC was temperamental and randomly worked and randomly didn’t. I complained to the owner that we were having a issue with AC. The room had all doors closed tight and we were sure to adjust the AC to 70 during the day to prevent AC freezing up.

The property is very nice. Being on the third floor with full unobstructed view it was hard to go explore. The condo and facility is well kept and very clean. The pool is area is fairly big and was never crowded. There's a couple miles of open sandy beach to walk and the beach at the complex has good swimming and some mild breakers to play in. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

We had a great time at this property. It is in a wonderful location and the property was exactly as advertised. We landed late at night and did have a little bit of difficulty finding the unit. There are 2 buildings that are part of the property and we were originally looking in the other building for the unit and not the correct one. Other then that, we had an absolutely wonderful stay. There are elevators which helped immensely with bringing things to the unit. The unit was beautiful inside and very well maintained. Everything worked great and you can’t beat the location. We loved all the amenities the property offers as well as being right on the ocean.

This ocean-front unit on the 3rd floor has everything you could need for your vacation in Hawaii! It is close to the airport, and Kihei is a good central location for everything Maui.
The condo was very clean, as were the community pool, hot-tub, grills, and beach area. The beach here is great, with good snorkeling (sea turtles, eels, octupus, coral) all right off the condo! Doreen was easy to work with and my wife and I agree we would stay here again!

I happily concede to the cliche but this unit is Magic on Maui!
Very comfortably appointed. Thoughtfully furnished with traditional touches of "Old Hawaii".... but not THAT old!
Situated on the third floor, you have an unobstructed view of waving palms and beautiful seascape. Truly magical.
Everything you need is supplied should you feel the urge to create homecooked meals and a barbecue is located downstairs near the pool/hot tub/common area.
But Maui presents some fabulous eateries, not always expensive and many offer half price Happy Hour deals. The condo has brochures to peruse and the guest book has recommendations for your guidance.
Easy walking and safe swimming along the curve of Sugar Beach...you won't even realize you have walked so far! Lovely to splash in the sea as you make your way. Again, Magic.
Sugar Beach Resort is ideally situated, close to Kahului Airport and many easy drives to points of interest: Lahaina, with its lovely old buildings and marina. Paia, "Hippie Haven" colorful, cute old buildings....a great spot for gift shopping. I dropped a couple of hundred dollars there very easily!
And of course, the "Road to Hana". Upcountry. Even if you don't make it all the way, there are super photo ops and snack stops.
You will never see it all in one visit, so make sure you "come home again" to this super comfortable unit at Sugar Beach Resort.

The moment you walk into this condo you know you've made the best choice of where to stay in Maui! The view is jaw dropping! The condo is big, well laid out...but the Lanai is where you'll want to be! The chaise lounge on the Lanai was the most perfect spot to watch the sun set!
The entire condo was clean and very well decorated, high lighted by beautiful Historic Hawaiian pictures! The king size bed was extremely comfortable. The kitchen was fantastic, and so well stocked, you'll want for nothing! Your hosts, The Appletons, have thought of everything you may need during your stay
We were with a group of 12 people, who all stayed at various condos, they all agreed, ours was by far the best!
The pool was gorgeous and well maintained. The hot tub was a fun meeting place later in the evening, we met people from all over the world! Plenty of lounge chairs. Excellent BBQ area! We used the Maui travel book that was on the coffee table, to find all sorts of hidden treasures on the island!
There is truly nothing you need to bring, but your bathing suit!

We have been guests in this condominium since the early 2000's and we continue to be impressed with the ongoing improvements. We note, for example, the new front entry locking system which enhances ease of entry and level of security. Also, there is an array of new appliances such as the washer/dryer, dishwasher, TV's and so on since our last visit in 2013. The king size bed is a dramatic improvement, all of which demonstrate that the comfort and security of guests is of paramount importance. Finally, the ocean views are without parallel.
Once again, our return to Maui has been a great experience and we have enjoyed such wonderful guest accommodations. Mahalo!

My wife and I enjoyed this condo very much. The place has everything you could need to have a great time in Maui... from being in an ideal central location on the island, to having the ocean right outside your back door, to having a very well stocked condo with everything we needed during our stay. The kitchen was loaded with "kitchen stuff", which was very nice. There were also plenty of beach towels, snorkels, masks, and beach supplies, including a cooler. The owner, Doreen, is very nice to work with and made sure we had everything we needed for a great stay.
The Sugar Beach Resort is clean, quiet, and has great amenities. We enjoyed the well maintained barbeques, the pool, and of course, the nightly gatherings at the hot tub, where we met some wonderful people.
We will definitely stay here again!!

We recently rented this condo for about a week stay on Maui. The unit is up to date and beautifully decorated with a well provisioned kitchen. It is clean and the view from the balcony exceptional. The location is convenient for reaching any part of Maui by car with ease by car but it also allows for some privacy away from the tourist crowds. The pool, hot tub and BBQ areas are kept clean. You just have to try a pina colada from the little bar located on site but don't drink it too fast or be prepared for the brain freeze.
We highly recommend rental of this unit.

My wife and I had a blast at Sugar Beach Resort. This particular condo is head and shoulders above the other units in the building. The owners have obviously spared no expense in the unit's updates. The unit directly faces the ocean and the A/C blows nice and cold when you've had too much sun. There is a bar near the pool that serves simple sandwiches from lunch onward. The resort is on the far end of Kihei with easy access to the highway. If you plan on staying for a couple of weeks--like we did, you will appreciate not having to drive thru Kihei every time you want to go somewhere. We go to Maui every year and this condo is now part of our vacation routine. The BBQ pit offers a good place to socialize with fellow mainlanders. We use to stay at the hotels but grew tired of the over priced units with dated rooms that would sit empty on the mainland. Do yourself a favour and upgrade to first class.
