This stay was one of the highlights of our vacation. Beautiful views, convenient location, close to everything. Beach is located right behind the resort. You have a sunset view right from your balcony.
The place is well-decorated, well-equipped and had everything we needed. Kitchen is fully stocked. Bed was comfortable. Having washer and dryer was a plus.
Definitely recommend this stay!

This property is in a great location. It's right on the beach north of Kihei, so it's not in a busy part of town. This condo is an end unit closest to the road, so there is some road noise but it wasn't problematic. The views and sounds of the ocean from the lanai are great. The property was comfortable and had lots of beach gear that helped make our stay better. We had some TV problems and the property managers were very responsive and helpful.

We loved our condo at Sugar Beach resort! The room literally had everything we could think of needing, and more! Comfy bed, AC worked great, and the view from the Lanai was amazing! Hot tub and oceanfront hangs were just a short stroll from the room. Would 100% stay here again!

It's a great location for experienced travelers in Maui. Maui is for the early riser. If you want to enjoy all that this island has to offer, you MUST get out of bed early. Plan on sleeping from 10pm - 6am. If you can do that, you will be impressed with this property.

Overall, a great property! Very clean and well-maintained. Property owner was helpful and responsive. Beach sometimes got windy during the afternoons but the central location made it easy to explore other beaches too. Lots of “extras” in the room - beach chairs, umbrella, coolers, etc. Would definitely come back here again!

We had a fantastic 11 day stay at the end of Ocotber! The condo was accurately described and fit our needs perfectly. We loved the views of the courtyard, ocean, West Maui Mountains, and even Mount Haleakala which we could see from our bedroom window. We highly reccomend Sugar Beach Resort and this condo.

We had the best time staying at this property. The unit was well maintained and neat. The view from the balcony is amazing and just walking distance to the beach. The kitchen has everything you need if you plan to cook. Only thing is it gets colder in the nights and if you plan to enjoy some time in the balcony make sure to carry a throw.
Overall highly recommend this place for your Maui Vacation!!!

My wife (then fiancée) and I were planning our honeymoon to Maui, and knew we wanted to stay on a tighter budget for our place to stay, to have more money for all our Maui adventures! We were looking on VRBO and a few other sites for a place to stay in the Kihei area, and stumbled upon this gem. I had stayed at Sugar Beach Resort once before when I came to Maui as a kid, so I already knew the resort was nice and had a great location. This condo had everything we needed as a couple, and made our visit nice and easy. The only issue we had the entire trip was a leaky kitchen sink, but I was able to call the front desk and they had someone from maintenance at our door within 30 minutes! They had the problem fixed within a couple of hours and we didn’t even realize anyone had been there when we got back from the beach. It is a little outdated, but this didn’t bother us much as we pretty much only were there to sleep and eat! It was simple, but had everything we needed! And you can’t beat that Maui beach view! Only complaint is we were closer to the road than the ocean, so when we had the doors to to lanai open, we could hear traffic, but this was only a small thing that didn’t bother us much. We will definitely be back here for future visits, and couldn’t recommend it more!

The property and room were clean. A little dated but perfectly fine. Plenty of fans helped keep airflow moving around. Short drive to restaurants. Being at the top of Kihei makes it a fantastic jump-point to other parts of the island. Also being at the top of Kihei means it's extra windy especially in afternoons. Nothing against the property, but something to be aware of if you want to lounge on the beach (which is very very small, so really it's lounging on the grassy area near the beach). Overall great unit and would stay here again for the location benefit.

Although it is older (and we were well aware of that being my wife stayed here with a friend 35 years or so ago), we felt it was clean, comfortable, and affordable! I was impressed with the quick response by the Vacasa folks when we needed something! If improvements/additions are made at some point pool wise, a larger (or a 2nd one) hot tub would be NICE as it was awfully crowded at times!

Was thrilled to be in Maui and at Sugar Beach for our vacation. The pool and hot tub were very inviting..….and a few more steps to the beach. Pictures were accurate of the condo and it was was comfy. Bring your own washing machine pods as that is one item not available in condo.

We had a wonderful visit at this resort. The Condo was clean and well stocked. They have a new couch from what is shown in the pictures and the hide-abed is new and comfortable. My only suggestions would be to have a blanket available. There were only heavy bedspreads and sometime the mornings were cool and a blanket would have been nice for sitting out on the lanai. There was a meager supply of toilet paper. I would assume that when a rental costs thousands of dollars it should include enough toilet paper for the entire stay.

Sugar Beach Resort provided a great, low key spot for our family of four on Maui. We enjoyed the beach and pool just downstairs from this 4th floor condo. The kitchen was well outfitted making cooking meals in and eating on the balcony easy.

Overall it was perfect for the two of us. The location is central to all we wanted to see. The resort is on a quiet beach that is perfect for walks in the morning and evening. The condo had everything we needed. Bed was comfortable, views from the lanai were amazing. We were able to see whales from the beach and the lanai. Kim was quick to respond which is much appreciated. Only cons is it’s next to a busy street so you’ll definitely hear the traffic and the pillows need replacing. Other than that it was perfect!

I'd never rented from VRBO before and I was leery, but this experience was perfect in every way. Kim is a pleasure to work with, everything about the process is clearly defined and the unit was absolutely perfect for a wonderful vacation in paradise for two. We would sit every day on the lanai and watch the whales playing, the pool and grounds are lovely and there is a year round resident who leads water aerobics every morning. The unit is nicely furnished and everything we needed was right there! Not to mention you're steps from a beautiful sandy beach. I would highly recommend this VRBO offering to anyone, however, I'd like to keep it a secret just for me when I am fortunate enough to get back to Maui. Sugar Beach Perfect indeed!

We LOVE Maui and have definitely found our new favorite place to stay! The condo was the perfect home away from home. Location rocks, resort is perfect, suite had everything we needed. The owner was excellent to work with and even when a small problem occurred, she quickly made it right.

The location is very central for driving, it is also on the bus route if need be.
Always a view of the waterfront beach which is lovely to walk in either direction.
Quiet resort and good for families, maybe not teenagers as it is a bit isolated.
The unit was well supplied and in good condition.Grounds and pool very well maintained.
Front office staff are very helpful with information and any problems etc.
