This was a truly special holiday for my wife and I, our 40th anniversary celebration and this apartment was the ideal place to celebrate. John and Maysie provided a perfect holiday and it is difficult to know where to start. Probably with the gift of a beautiful flower bouquet and a rosé.
But also so much more. Tremendous care and attention has gone into this apartment. We have been to other VRBO’s in the same complex, this one is exceptional. The kitchen is well and thoughtfully stocked, the beds are very comfortable, multiple TVs if one had time to look at them, and every little detail, tennis racket, which had new handles applied, and every possible item of beach equipment. Spotless before we got in there. Lots of other consumables eg dishwasher soap, laundry materials, paper towels etc - often lacking on some of our other stays.
Were joined for part of the time by two of our adult children and a partner, and there was no problem with the five of us staying organized and enjoying the time Also, exceptional ongoing attention, we had somehow managed to lock ourselves out of the bedroom, John over directly to fix this. I had to order an urgent pair of prescription glasses, John provided advice & access to the mailbox.
The fans and breeze kept us cool
Overall my wife and I could not have been happier with this experience , would love to have a chance to go back there sometime.
John and Maysie, you will be in our thoughts for a long time!

We had an amazing time here in Maui. We would come back anytime. John was an amazing help and was available to answer any questions we had throughout the week and gave additional nformation that was so helpful. We loved it and would recommend it to anyone with a family of various age groups..

We had 2 adults and 3 kids. Loft bedroom for parents and each kid had a twin bed in the other bedroom. Living room had sleeper sofa too. Well-stocked full kitchen and washer/dryer were clutch! A great location right across the street from a good beach for playing in the sand, tide pooling, watching the sunset and snorkeling. Unit has coolers, beach chairs, boogie boards, sand toys, and balls. Complex has a nice pool and beautiful grounds with BBQ areas. Grocery stores restaurants are a short drive away. Kihei is a fun town. Host was super helpful and had great recommendations.

Great condo. Met our needs perfectly ( family of 5). Condo is very well stocked. Beds are very comfortable. Great boogie boards. John and Maysie were super communicative as well as gave us great suggestions for things to do/see. Also made me a lei with flowers from their own tree for my 30 th wedding anniversary- so sweet. Would recommend their condo to everyone!!

John was the perfect host and helped us every step of the way. We were exactly where we needed to be to lay my Father in-laws ashes. My father-in-law lived right next store for 25years and John and his wife even brought over Lei they had made for the service. Everything was clean and it felt just like the way my father-in-law had his house. My husband had a much easier time being able to stay with what felt like family. Everything was clean and organized and John and his wife even gave us excellent recommendations for food and other rental places. I would 100% come back again and rent with John.

Beds were comfortable, which was needed after playing at the beach all day.
The beach was across the street, but you can see anything through the huge tree next to the lanai, all you can see is the condo lawn below.
All the boogie boards were broken, the ice chests were broken/cracked/lid wont stay, but also only big enough to carry a few cans of soda and a sandwich, we had to go to costco to get a cooler to take on the road to Hana.
No games or even a deck of cards for evening entertainment. Did go to the hottub a few nights, but they were really dirty. (Not the condo owner's fault)
The biggest complaint though other than no "fun" amenities, is that the loft windows are open, and you can't reach them. It's really really loud when you're trying to sleep, and the condo is right next to the road. You hear every vehicle and truck hit every bump out front, and if you're not used to it makes you feel like you're sleeping in the street.
I have rented from other owners in other condo buildings. I think this one is nice, but there are also nicer ones out there, especially for that price range.

We absolutely loved this condo! The location is amazing - right across from the beach and close to amenities. The condo is well equipped with anything you might need. The assigned parking spot right by the elevators is great when carrying everything in. The owners, John and Maysie were so kind and helpful. They responded quickly and provided any information we needed. I would highly recommend this condo to anyone wanting to go to Maui and stay in Kihei. Mahalo!

Wonderful trip for our family, great location! Right by great beach with lifeguard and saw lots of turtles and fish, you could snorkle, buggie board and skim board all right there! Owner provides chairs, boards, sand toys, umbrellas, Ice chest, etc...

This was our first time visiting Maui and we were very pleased with the home. John (host) welcomed us on our first day and gave us tons of suggestions for places to visit/eat. The home was perfectly located across from a beautiful beach and the balcony view was one that we took advantage of each day. Exceeded our expectations!

The Condo
Though we traveled all throughout Maui, it was great to walk across the street and catch the sunset while taking a dip in the pacific or just spend the day swimming or snorkeling in one of the 3 beaches. The nearby pool and hot tub is a decent addition as my kids visited it every night. Theres a BBQ area on the way to the pool with tables and chairs where you can have a decent outing during your stay. Being able to do Laundry in the condo was essential as well.
The Bedrooms
The Loft Bedroom is rather comfortable and spacious with its own private shower. Though I don’t watch much TV, there’s one if you’d like to catch a little of something before completely winding down.
The 1st floor bedroom is a nice size, however, the 3 twin beds do cramp it up a bit not allowing much space to move comfortably. Still, the beds were comfortable and my kids had no complaints. If you have 3 kids, this place is perfect as each child will have their own bed without the expense of a larger rental. This is actually the reason why I chose to stay here. Unfortunately, our plans changed and there was no need for the additional bed.
The Kitchen
I spent every day working the kitchen, even if I was simply making a sandwich. The basic essentials are there for whatever you have in mind. You might need to buy a seasoning or two. The rice cooker came in handy a couple of times and I regret not using the slow cooker. The coffee maker was used every morning.
Though dinner was had in the dining room, breakfast and the occasional lunch was enjoyed on the Lanai. The call of the birds and the breeze on some days along with the views reminded us that we were in paradise after all.
It can get hot and humid in the condo, especially upstairs in the loft area. We took the hosts’s advice and opened the slider to the Lanai as well as the front door keeping the gated door locked to allow a cross breeze to run through the condo. This helped immensely and did a far better job than what the small AC unit would have done while certainly saving on the electrical expense. The fans in the rooms helped as well.
Hosts
John and Tam are wonderful hosts with great communication. Their recommendations of places to visit and restaurants to eat were spot on. It was a pleasure to have met John before I left. I highly recommend staying here, especially if you have a larger family and on a budget. It may not be luxury, but we felt at home.

This property is a great spot for those who want to be close to the beach, shops and amenities. The space is clean, has everything you need and the property owners were the absolute best! We have stayed at Kamaole Sands before and this unit was updated a lot more than most. Great location with a decent ocean view. Our family had a great trip and we would book this unit again 100%. What an incredible experience and place to stay. So very clean and John and Maysie are wonderful kind hosts. With Covid we had difficulty getting there at the airport but once we were all in place at the condo, everything turned magical. All supplies were in the condo. Beds were comfortable. Locality is perfect. We like Kihei because it is laid back and the beach is across the street. Can’t wait for another trip.

This condo worked wonderful for our family. My husband I and took our two16yrs for Christmas this year and the extra room with 3 bed options was nice! The location is great, right across from Kam 3. We spent several days just popping down to that beach instead of driving around. Kihei is a good central area for getting around as well. John and Maysie were great! They answered emails quickly and when I forgot some small items in the condo they were quick to locate them and even took them to my family in one of the condos 2 floors down!!

The owners were truly amazing in response times, advice for area snorkel rentals, and flexibility in checkin/off schedule for my unique needs. I love staying in the kamamole area in Maui...this was a new location in kamamole for me- an ideal unit right across from the beach. Elevator was very helpful for my luggage. Parking spot was right next to Elevator. I did hit the gym as well- not spectacular but had all the essentials I needed for strengthening. The walking and hiking trails on Maui are better options for cardio.

We had a wonderful stay. Traveling with 3 teenagers, we loved having the option of 3 single beds in the bedroom. The location is great, right across from Kamaole 3 Beach. We always enjoy Kihei as a base for exploring the island. The condo was well stocked and we had everything we needed. The cross breezes were nice and we didn't need the AC at all. We would definitely stay here again.

My family really enjoyed our stay in Kihei Maui.
Pros:
- Great Location!!!!
- Kamole Beach Park III directly across the street and is an excellent beach! Easy safe walk (teens were fine on their own, younger kids would need supervision). Grassy and shady areas above the beach, fresh water showers, benches. Good snorkeling in the mornings, boogie boarding in the afternoons, beautiful sunsets everyday. Nice sand and plenty of room to enjoy the beach.
- Close access to town. Walking distance to several great restaurants. Easy drive to everything in Kihei. Kihei is great BTW - laid back, friendly, walkable, casual. Not a resort feel like you have on areas like Kanapali Beach or Wailea. Easy access to the whole island.
- Everything we needed for the beach was available at the condo. Beach chairs, beach umbrellas, boogie boards, skim board, sand toys, beach towels, cozies....
- Kitchen is fully appointed. Everything you need. Plenty of the basics like sugar, salt, pepper. Blender, coffee grinder, pots, pans, cups, glasses, you name it.
- Comfortable furniture. Nice TVs. Cable. Internet. Patio table and chairs on the Lanai.
- Best view in Kamole Sands complex.
- This unit is the closest one to the beach with a stairway literally next door that no one else uses. Quick access up and down.
- Reserved parking right beside the elevator - makes it easy to carry up groceries, chairs, etc.
- Kamole Sands is nice. Grounds are well maintained with beautiful flowers, fountains, grassy areas. Pool, hot tubs, workout rooms, ping pong tables, tennis, gas grills. Some activities, but we didn't do any of that, all our time was spent at the beach or touring Maui.
- 3 twin beds in the 2nd bedroom. Good for the kids.
- AC if needed - we needed it some in the evenings in late July - when the wind stops it can get warm - high 80s.
Neutral:
- beds were fine - nothing special, but I never heard any complaints.
- pool area was nothing special - it's Hawaii - go to the beach!
- Unit is on the 4th (top) floor - makes for a better view, but lots of up and down stairs or elevator.
- Loft is very open to the downstairs.
Cons:
- Loft was hot in the evenings.
- Loft was a bit noisy - there are open windows up high to let heat out, but all the traffic noise (daily 3:30 AM trash trucks) come right up into the room. You also get beautiful bird songs. Take some ear plugs and it's fine.
- We had to buy a roll of toilet paper and some soap when we ran out. We were there 11 days...

Trips with 3 kids often add a little extra challenge finding accommodations with enough beds for everyone without someone on a sofabed, which is rarely the most comfortable option. We so appreciated the 3 twin beds in this vacation rental. Everything was as specified with beach supplies provided (e.g., towels, chairs, pool noodles, coolers). The location was fantastic, and the property had a nice pool and hot tubs and grounds. If you're very sound sensitive at night (we are not), be aware that you are right near a main road. You hear the waves, but also the cars; but if you close all the windows you lose the great breezes, so just something to consider. We enjoyed our time there very much.
