Perfect location and view from the balcony is priceless. We walked to baby beach and watched beautiful sunsets at Lawai beach right outside the property. Cons: contacted property manager and others upon arrival because we couldn’t figure out air conditioning and received no response. Luckily, we figured it out. We learned we couldn’t return after 9 at night and expect a parking spot in the lot. I think people attending celebrations at The Beach House next door were parking in the lot.

We enjoyed our stay at Kohola. What a comfortable home and the view is breathtaking! I didn’t realize until we began watching- turtle activity all day long, surfers to the left side and at times could see bright yellow and other large fish just off a few feet away from the black lava stone/ tidal pool. Snorkeling activity, saw some dolphins. This was a quiet clean property with a very friendly manager! The only noise we heard were the waves crashing to the shore. This was such a peaceful week we spent. The trade winds were fabulous, just needed the a/c at night for sleeping. The kitchen was loaded with pots, pans, dish’s, silverware and you were never far from a perfect view of the ocean. I even watched surfers from the guest bath mirror as I was getting ready. How much fun, close to great shopping, restaurants and gorgeous beauty. We visited the south shore, Waimea, Poipu, Koloa quaint town and food trucks, Malama Huleia Project restoring the fish pond was so interesting to read about and visit! We highly recommend this property for a small group! Thanks to the owners! What a gem you own!

Celebrating our 20th anniversary, we returned to Kauai. In prior visits, we stayed in Lihue, but on our last visit in 2018, we found ourselves driving over to the Poipu area almost on a daily basis. We knew then that when we returned, we wanted to try to stay in Poipu. We were also excited to share the trip experience with our 14-year-old daughter as it would be her first trip to Hawaii. My mom was also joining us for the trip, so it was important for us to find a place that worked for us as a family. This amazing condo at Kuhio Shores was phenomenal. The view is absolutely breathtaking. You're literally on the edge of the ocean and it just doesn't get any better than that. The kitchen had just about everything you could possibly need to enjoy staying in and preparing meals: a spacious refrigerator, dishwasher, sink (with dishwashing soap!), toaster, electric kettle, coffee pot/single serve Keurig, pots and pans of all sizes, nice cooking utensils, cutlery, dishes ... seriously, you name it, it was there! The fact that so much care has gone into this condo to make it feel like a home away from home really made it a wonderful experience. The bedding and furniture were comfortable. If we weren't sleeping, we were either out exploring or sitting on the balcony. The laundry room was easy to access, parking was readily available, elevator or a quick flight of stairs to the 3rd floor was no problem. It was an incredible stay! I hope to rent here again when we're able to return!

Beautiful view of the ocean as advertised - very friendly and calm condo complex. Easy access to both west and east shore activities and sight seeing. More beach towels would be helpful for a family of four. You can’t go wrong with this place as it is very enjoyable and scenic.

To sit on your patio and watch sea turtles and surfers, it was just amazing. The location was great , not just view, but walkable to some great restaurants and shops. Good starting point for the whole island experience. This was truly a once in a lifetime experience and I would love to come back.

One of the most amazing views we’ve ever experienced! Fell asleep to natural white noise of the waves crashing on the rocks every night. Woke every morning to surfing entertainment on our balcony. Walking distance to all different types of amenities and beach access. I will definitely be bringing my little family next time.❤️

What an excellent VRBO! Such a spacious place, very clean and exactly as described in the listing. The deck is amazing, the view spectacular. We watched whales all morning, then the turtles in the evening.

The location of this property was not bad - easy to get to everything. It was not a 'bad' stay but there were some things that would prevent me from renting there again. The view of the ocean is nice but to get the view from the photo you have to stand in the corner of the porch and look to the side. The outdoor seating was just two chairs and a table that were too short to see over the railing - higher chairs would have been nice. The condo unit is kinda 'tucked in' from the building, that is just the design of the building, but unless the breeze is coming directly from the ocean it is tough to feel that, which was a bummer. There are AC units in every room but it's not the same as an awesome ocean breeze. The unit was mostly clean but lots of dust on the lighting fixtures - looked like they've never been touched actually. The room with the king bed really needs a dresser that is not in the closet - it would be more practical, and give you more hanging space in the closet. Also, the right side of the king bed is very, very soft, maybe the mattress is old or broken, but it sagged so badly my back was killing me the first day. I moved to the left side and that was better thankfully. My mom slept fine in the other bed and had no complaints about that one. Overall, I'm sorry to say, it did not feel comfortable to me and I was disappointed. Again, it's not a 'bad' place, just not what I expected.

If you are looking for a true Hawaiian experience, this unit is given an A++. From the first step in the door, the condo was true to its description. You will be amazed with the view of the ocean - doesn’t get any better. We watched whales from the lanai, watched a monk seal swim right in front, experienced a school of spinner dolphins jumping in and out of the water (that was amazing) and then to see the endless amount of sea turtles which we watched daily. If that was not enough, we saw an endless amount of sea life while snorkeling at the beach right next to this condo. It was truly a beautiful vacation. I already miss the sound of the waves. You are so close to the ocean - it is mesmerizing. We would recommend this place to anyone in a heartbeat!

Listing is definitely accurate. The view at this property is amazing. We saw dolphins and turtles along with a daily dose of surfers. Conveniently close to restaurants and beaches. Loved being able to see and hear the ocean from the bedroom.

It doesn't get much better than a week in Kauai - add to that a well-appointed condo about 50 feet from the ocean. This place was very nice - clean, comfortable, nice complex - and from the balcony, we could watch the sea turtles and surfers. This was our 2nd time staying in this complex and we would definitely book again to stay in this unit.

A nice apartment ON ON ON the water. We were on the third floor and could see turtles all day long. They were especially entertaining up close at high tide. It is a hot surfing spot and that was fun too. This was our first time in Poipu. We usually stay in Kekaha. To Poipu location proved very convenient with easy access to the entire south shore from Polihale to Kapa’a. I’d stay there again.

The beds are so comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed. The location to local restaurants and food was awesome. But the best part…the most AMAZING reason to stay at this location is the VEIW.
THE VIEW IS WORTH EVERY CENT YOU PAY.
We spent so much time just sitting on the balcony watching the turtles swim and the surfers surf. This place was awesome.

My friend and I came to take a breather, and this condo allowed us to do that. There is nothing as amazing as having all windows and doors facing the ocean and keeping them open all night for the epic breezes and crashing wave sounds. No white noise or sound machines needed here! The beds are extremely comfy, the whole condo had everything we needed, including all the turtles possible! The waves were amazing, which allowed for perfect surfer/boogie boarder watching.
While other parts of the island were rainy, this little slice of heaven was almost always dry, with the most perfect blue/green water. I didn’t know all of these water colors existed, but the passing clouds just emphasized every color imaginable.
When I come back to Kauai, I WILL come back to this condo.

I would highly recommend this condo for a wonderful vacation in Kauai. First, the views are spectacular. It feels like you are on a cruise ship looking out through the wall of glass, as all you can see is the Pacific Ocean and hear the waves. Second, the condo is beautiful, updated and stocked with many extras; beach chairs, umbrellas, cooler, boogie boards, keurig coffee maker and all necessary kitchen utensils. The complex is quiet and located close to everything on the south side of the island. We couldn’t have had a better stay! Mahalo Tais!

We had a great time! The pictures are accurate. There was nothing obstructing the water view. We saw whales, dolphins and turtles right from the patio balcony.
Compared to other places I’ve stayed, the apparent age of the place and not having the owner on the property seems to be why there is a lack of detail in cleaning and keeping everything fresh. A property manager will never take care of property like an owner. But again, the location overrides the issues I had with the place.

I would highly recommend the place had everything you could possibly need from beach chairs to umbrellas to coolers and the kitchen was fully equipped plus air conditioning in every room the view is spectacular some previous reviews commented about the furnishings being a little dated but in my opinion that is being nit picky the furnishings were fine especially since you are having renters coming and going I loved the place!!
Perfect location on the Island to get to excursions and anything else!!

We spent the week touring up and down the coast but also spent time on the lanai enjoying sunrises and sunsets. We saw whale blow blows, breeches from our lanai. We usually bring binoculars but didn’t this time but we’re still able to see them prett good. We really enjoyed our stay!

Loved unit 311. The view off the balcony was breathtaking. My husband and I actually slept on the balcony a few nights, listening to the waves and looking at the stars. Condo itself was very nice, beautiful countertops and new/high end kitchen gadgets and appliances. The photos exactly matched the condo. We thought it was a great centralized location. Near plenty of restaurants, shops, beaches, etc. bonus fun, each night hundreds of beautiful parakeets would come to nest in palm trees on the property, super fun. We were also blessed with quite the whale jumping show from the comfort of the balcony of our condo. At the beach just steps away we often saw sea turtles hanging about and was a great snorkeling spot. Great place - would love to come back and recommend to our friends and family.

This is our second stay in Poipu in the last 3 years. This location and view is hard to beat. Nice and responsive host.
Pros
1. Great location, on the sunny south side. Walking distance to several nice beaches (check out baby beach 5 min walk)
2. Amazing views of ocean, can see sea turtles bobbing in the ocean and surfers from the lanai
3. Included beach chairs, umbrellas, cooler, and boogie board were great
4. Easy parking - free and plenty of it - lots of parakeets sleep in the palm trees at night, try not to park in spots adjacent to the road or birds will leave a present for you. :)
5. BBQs - great community BBQs at the far end of the parking lot, two new high end Webbers
6. Internet was stable - took some video conferencing calls for work with only minor lag on occasion (not sure if that was internet in the condo or upstream)
Cons
1. AC - needed to be cleaned - had mold - host was responsive, sent a technician out, but they were not able to cleaned the 3 AC units (some sort of miscommunication the technician thought he was there because the AC did not work) so could not use them for most of our 9 day stay. The mold was causing 2 of 4 of us to have allergies that went away when we stopped using the AC. Was a little unfortunate as one of the reasons we specifically booked this place was for the AC.
2. Little TLC needed fixing minor items - towel holder and toilet paper holder falls off wall, light bulbs, broken closet drawers (guest bedroom), slow (standing water) drain master bathroom sink and guest shower (standing water when you shower - probably from guests not getting sand off before taking a shower)

This property is right on the water! The crashing sound of the waves is all you hear and you can watch the turtles play in the waves right from the lanai.
The only things that need improvement is the check-in process (we waited 40min outside the door before we could get in, with frozen food items) and the mattress on the pull-out couch is very bad.

My family (wife & 2 college aged kids) had an amazing stay at Tais gem of a condo. The location and view is spectacular. We had a wave swell in during our time and the size of the waves plus caliber of surfing just off of the lanai was incredible. Not to mention that we had between 6 -12+ sea turtles in the water right under the balcony on most days. Tais was super responsive to any issue or request and my family made great memories.

We stayed here for 8 days while in Kauai. It was great for our family (2 adults & a 7 year old). The views are stunning - beautiful blue water & sunsets are amazing! Loved watching the turtles & the surfers each day. Grocery stores & restaurants are nearby. Plenty of pots & pans for cooking your own meals. Beach accessories such as beach towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, kids toys, & a cooler are all available in the condo. Was extremely helpful not to have to rent those items! Overall, we loved our stay in Kauai! 5 stars!

Nice unit a great ocean view! There were a few little things - very few hangers and we looked everywhere to buy some but no one sells hangers. The master bedroom furniture is a little too tight for the size of the room but the bed was soft and comfy. Only bummer was that you cannot see sunrise or sunset from unit. I know this may be due to the time of year (mid-June) but Hawaiian sunsets are so beautiful it was a shame to miss. Regardless I would definitely stay at the complex and this unit again.

We stayed here for 10 days and it was the perfect location. Loved watching the sea turtles and surfers throughout the day. And the convenience of the beaches was incredible. Loved being able to walk down the street to snorkel.
The condo was very comfortable and was plenty of space for our family of 4. There was beach chairs and beach equipment provided. And the kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans. And we really appreciated the complimentary bottle of wine upon arrival after a long travel day.
We will be staying here again.

This was our first time renting a condo in Hawaii. The owner was extremely helpful and very easy to contact. It was stocked with everything that you could imagine and it was extremely clean. The views were fantastic! I would highly recommend this condo to anyone looking for a place to rent. We definitely will be going back!
