Upon arrival, the unit looked mostly clean other than dust on baseboards/light fixtures but ants were everywhere in the kitchen when i arrived... counters, inside cabinets, floor, stove etc. When staff contacted me to see if everything was clean I noted the ants and they dismissed it as "unavoidable". This is CLEARLY not true because I had spent a week in another condo in the area just before this one and I didn't have this problem. This tells me that there are food particles in places that aren't immediately visible. I rent condos to have a kitchen to save money on food but this stay was extremely unpleasant and expensive since I couldn't use the kitchen without having to watch every little move. Even the dining table had ants.
Also, this unit is right next to a busy street. The bedroom wall is parallel to the street. Had I known this I wouldn't have stayed there. Very loud and not relaxing.

The property location is ideal for restaurants and activities on the island. Everything is very convenient or a reasonable drive. The condo is well supplied with the essentials for a comfortable stay. What lacks in comfort is the furniture, it’s fine if you are out most of the time but uncomfortable to lounge on the sofa for any period of time. There is 1 chaise lounge on the lanai, there needs to be 2 so both people can enjoy being outside. There is a small table and 2 chairs on the lanai, but they are not comfortable for any period of time. The bed is okay for sleeping but could be more comfortable with a better mattress. The sheets, while clean, are a bit rough. A higher quality set of sheets would add greatly to a person’s overall comfort. There is plenty of storage space for your belongings while visiting. Cedar lined closets are a nice touch. Drawer space is sufficient for 2.The elevator in the building is nice to have when you’re tired and don’t want to climb stairs. The building has 2 elevators but the one was always out of service. Light switches take a little effort to get used to for the lights over the table, the desk, and the bedroom. It’s not readily apparent that there are dimmers on some of them that work very differently than others we have seen. The bedroom light switch has 2 main switches. One only controls the light and the other (preferred) switch controls both light and fan. We had a good stay, but the details make a difference between good and great.

You can’t beat the view of the sunrise, listening to the waves crash all day, Sea turtles right outside the balcony, sunsets and surf watching on the grass. Location is great. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. It’s a little stuffy walking in initially - but open those doors and windows and live like a true Hawaiian. Definitely recommend

The unit was beautiful with on the water ocean view seeing turtles feeding upon the rocks. Unit was equiped with everything one would need. Lanai was Nice and breezy to stay cool. enjoyed use of the grassy grounds where you can watch surfers all day long, walk next door to one of Kauai's most sought after restaurants. The unit is a corner unit providing a private entrance area. An easy 2nd floor access to beach or parking. I would want to rent this unit again and again. Super cool location. Clean and great view of the cove outside. Close to the road so did hear the traffic and people walking by but not bothersome. Adequate parking and the BBQs were very useful. The beach chairs and cooler were great to have included too.
For the most part comfortable (the couch cushions were pretty old so the wicker frame pokes through, not really good for lounging for any duration. Plenty of fans to keep you cool. The kitchen had everything we needed except a vegetable peeler and ice trays for ice cubes. There are several local markets nearby for everything we needed.
Not for the condo but in general make your reservations weeks in advance if there's a restaurant you want to go to, don't rely on last minute or thinking you'll just show up and get a table. (many were

Condo was cute, well stocked with all the amenities you’d need. The only downside was that it is an end unit and there is a road just outside where loud cars occasionally pass. We had no trouble sleeping or anything. We just turned on the fans.

We have been to the island now 7 times and have stayed all over. This location was the best. The view was magnificent! Accommodations were great. We had no issues with the room, it was clean and well stocked. As many have stated there is no AC in this unit but fans are provided and there is a nice cross breeze when you open the doors. Suggestion - switch the bathroom light out with some LED bulbs to element the heat coming off the lights.

We enjoyed beautiful sunrises and a short walk to watch the sunsets. Local Beach House restaurant is delicious. Quick walk to go snorkeling on either side of the complex to swim with sea turtles and pretty fish. The unit was clean on arrival with a generous welcome package to greet us.

Well equipped condo right on the water. Direct view of the sunrise every morning. Ocean through the condo all day. Waves lull you to sleep. Perfect location if you plan to try to see the entire island. East drive west to the canyon. Easy drive to Hanalei. Highly recommend.

Corner unit is misleading--the corner is to a busy road with loud and bright traffic through the evening. Unit is very dated, bathroom has no ventilation, but bed is comfy. Bedroom has termites, which leave wood poop piles on the bedside table and underneath bedside table each day. No air conditioning, and very poor ventilation throughout condo considering you have to keep the front door wide open and the bedroom windows open, but then have to deal with the loud traffic. Lanai has only partial ocean view, and partial road view. Unit offers low value considering cost.

We loved every minute! The host does a fabulous job of making her guests feel welcomed and right at home. It was every thing we needed and more than we hoped for. We loved the ocean views from the lanai and watching the sunsets from the grassy knoll. Watching the surfers and the parakeets coming home to roost in the evening was a special treat! It's an easy 5 minute walk to great snorkeling and food, and a quick 5 minute drive to the market for anything you need. The neighborhood is safe and friendly. This really is a gem of a place.

This was a great condo and well appointed. You MUST go to Beach House Restaurant (next to condo) but get reservations early (like before you come). This condo was a great launching pad for a lot of adventures on the island. And the view from the balacony is great.

We loved the beautiful bungalow and our stay there. I practically lived on the lanai when we were in - loved the view and ocean sounds - so relaxing. We appreciated the beach items and the welcome treats. Hope to return to #201 - it was hard to leave!

We loved our stay at Kuhio Shores! The location at Lawai Beach is perfect for snorkeling and sunsets (opposite side by the Beach House restaurant). Amazing views from the lanai, highly recommend booking an in home massage there. 2 big fans are provided which we moved around depending where in the home we were. One little tip, if you need the circuit breaker, it’s behind the palm painting in the hallway.

The condo was exactly as listed - the bedding and linens were very nice. The location was perfect- steps from The Beach House Restaurant. Great views on the ocean and surfers! The owners were very communicative and sweet. I highly recommend this property. It is close to the street so you will hear traffic but the wind and waves drown out most of the noise. This neighborhood is very quiet at night. Just a relaxing and peaceful experience!

We had an incredible stay at Kuhio Shores 201. Our rating is 4.8 because the unit does not have air conditioning and little cross ventilition,so as a result, was very uncomfortable (we knew there was no air conditioning when we booked, but thought with the ceiling fans and stand fans, it was be ok). The unit itself was clean, and otherwise a great place to stay. The Lanai is to die for! We spent a great deal of time there - soaking in all that is Kauai. It is VERY convenient to everything!
The folks as Vacasa were terrific - they maintained contact right up to the moment we were to check in. They were very responsive to us when reported the bedroom TV was not working - we reported it to Nancy via text late the evening we arrived, and before 10:30 the next morning, someone was there and swapped out the TV.
Our thought is that if you are not sensitive to the heat, as one of us was, it's well worth it!

The property itself was very comfortable. I slept so well there and loved hearing the waves.
However, the fact that VRBO gave all my contact information to the property management company (Vacasa), who immediately started spamming me with email solicitations, and the property owner was surprising and frustrating. Vacasa also caused some confusion by sending me a duplicate email invitation with a different property name. The check-out process wasn't exactly clear. Vacasa's app said one thing, but that didn't match the information they texted me on the day we checked out. I will not use Vacasa again. I would also strongly urge VRBO to protect user information and either require all communication to go through the VRBO app or give users the option to have their contact information shared with the property owner/manager.

Great view of the sunrise and sunset plus walking distance from the beach. Clean, comfortable, and close to the promenade with excellent restaurants and convenience stores. Laundry facilities on site were helpful as well. Glad to have found such a great spot to relax.
