The place was great. Location great. We were there the night the fires started. JD and Rumi were amazing. They checked in on us to make sure we were ok and offered to have us stay in the place if we couldn't get off the island. We enjoyed our stay. The property was exactly as pictured. Thoughtful amenities in the kitchen, for the beach and even a small library. Great location for all we did. AC and fans kept us cool. The lanai was a great place where we began and ended many of our days. We would definitely stay again. Thanks for sharing your home.

We stayed at At JD and Rumi’s condo the end of June 2023. The condo was just as pictured. Check in was a breeze, the condo is about 3min walk to Kam III, right across the street. We saw turtles feeding there on several evenings. The activities director at the pool had great tips on places to see while we were there, including a beach on the north end to see very large turtles and surfers. The condo was well stocked with zip lock bags, basic seasoning. There was an ice chest that came in handy plus 5 beach chairs, pool noodle and misc beach equipment, including some very nice towels for the beach. The wash machine and dryer were much appreciated including having soap on hand for laundry. Each bathroom was equipped with shampoo and conditioner. We tried to keep the condo sand free and tidy, I may suggest a small handheld vac for quick clean up. The grounds were very well kept at the complex and the neighbors we met were all very kind. The unit has AC which comes in handy on hot evenings. This was our first visit to Maui and now having traveled the island during our stay, I would have to say the south side of the island is the best. Much more peaceful and less crowded. Hope to come back soon!

The condo was perfect for our visit to Maui. It had everything we needed and the location was close to the beach and many restaurants. JD and Rumi were quick to respond to any questions we had. They were great hosts. We will be back!!

This condo was wonderful. The location was fabulous. Really close to some great beaches and some good snorkeling. The condo itself was very clean and comfortable. It’s beautifully decorated, and the views from the deck were spectacular. It was well stocked with everything you might need. There were plenty of items in the kitchen including some pantry items like salt and pepper. There was plenty of beach equipment like beach chairs, towels, an umbrella and coolers.
The owners were wonderful. You can tell they take pride in their property. I am a little picky about where we stay, and I would highly recommend this place. It helped make our Maui visit even more special!!!

Ocean and Mountain views, very comfortable, clean, easy to get to. Beautiful grounds, lots of places to BBQ, easy beach access, everything you could want was in the condo. If you've thought of it, they had it there. I highly recommend JD and Rumi's place!

My fiancée and I stayed at Kamaole Sands for our second time, this time with my father. We previously stayed in building #9. This 2-bedroom unit was perfectly situated off the elevator, close to pool/ BBQ/ beach and the assigned parking was incredibly close. The ocean view from the lanai was spectacular. Our hosts were good with communication and very accommodating with a late check-out. This unit was fully equipped and the beds comfortable. This unit is worth the stay!

Met beyond our expectations. Fully furnished, equipped, applianced...met all our vacation island needs without having to go out of our way to get stuff. We stayed for a week. We only bought food and drink, and a few spices only to find out they had plenty of spices in the kitchen. Even have beach stuff available for beach days. Only thing difficult is getting the cable TV going. It wasn't as user friendly despite instuctions, but you can use smart apps on their TVs like Netlflix which was much easier. You have a carport but from experience was a tad tight with a car bigger than a sedan. We had a full SUV and it was a bit snug that we unloaded before parking. Neighboring guest or owners were pleasant. Decent amenities like the pool, hot tub and BBQ areas. Owner was easy to communicate with and answered any questions I had. Also loved location...not too busy, with nearby grocery, beach and gift shops. And thankful for fans and AC in the condo. However would have appreiated a fan or AC closer to kitchen and dining area.

This was a very comfortable home with everything we could need during our stay. The (unexpected) beach chairs, towels, cooler, etc. really made our day trips to different beaches more enjoyable. The convenience of having a washer and dryer ended up being extremely important, and something I didn't consider before the trip. After exploring all day, Kamaole Beach III across the street turned out to be the perfect place for the kids to return to each night for body boarding, and to experience the sunset. I hope we have an opportunity to stay here in the future. Thank you!

This unit provides ample kitchen supplies and is comfortably clean. The king bed is awesome, while the other beds need some attention. Great location and the pool is wonderful. This unit is close to the elevator which is convenient but also adds some early morning and night noise. Overall comfortable with great AC.

We (4 adults and 1 child) had a wonderful stay in this apartment.
The location is excellent and it is extraordinarily well equipped with many little extras.
Check-in and communication was easy and flawless.
We would happily stay with JD and Rumi again on our next visit to Maui.

Great location with plenty of space and all the amenities you can imagine. Beautifully furnished and well stocked. Directly off the elevator with parking right below. On the backside of the complex with our own gate for quick access to the beach. Our hosts were easy to communicate with and responded quickly. We hope to stay at this amazing property again soon

This is a super clean, comfortable condo across the street from the beach with views of the ocean. Lots of amenities including beach chairs, cooler, beach towels, umbrella. The air conditioning was a super plus as well as the ceiling fans. There are 3 great TVs but we didn’t use much because there was just too much to do outside. Can’t beat having coffee on the lanai each morning with views of ocean and the mountains. Would definitely rent this condo again and highly recommend to others. Can’t address the pool area as we preferred the ocean.

Great condo, nicely updated and very clean when we got there. Really loved the central A/C which many condos in Kamaole Sands do not have. Easy check-in and check-out. I would definitely stay in this unit again.

We love Kamaole Sands and this will definitely be the property we come back to. It was so clean, comfortable and well equipped. We enjoyed breathtaking sunsets on the lanai and the location cannot be beat, across from the beach and beautiful walks along the shores of Wailea. JD & Rumi were amazing hosts and quick to reply any time we reached out to them. Friendly and accommodating, they made us feel right at home. We had such a wonderful time and cannot wait to be back! Typically when I get home from vacation I’m happy to be in my own space with all of my own stuff, but not this time. This rental was so perfectly situated and accommodated I felt so at home. Born and raised on Maui and now living on the mainland I knew what location I wanted but condos are all different. This condo was a 10/10 with all the extras - games for the kids, chairs, umbrella, sand toys, tour books & even sunscreen! I actually brought a few laundry pods knowing that you swim 3x a day in HI and need to wash even on a short trip but didn’t need that either as the apt was also well stocked in all cleaning supplies needed. The location is very close to the beach (only one building is closer) which makes walking across the street with stuff and kids as simple as possible. We also loved to jump in the pool and hot tub to wash all the sand off before coming home. All facilities are well kept up with friendly staff and again more than you could need with both an adult and family hot tub, tennis court, beach rentals, kids pool and BBQs all on the grounds. This condo is mid Kihei across the street from kam III a very family friendly spot to swim. 2 days in a row we had turtles literally swim in front of us so close we had to move back to keep the required 10ft (please visitors be polite to the wildlife & it’s a law!). We didn’t even bother going to other beaches because we had great weather and enjoyed the convenience of not having to drive. Condo has optional AC and plenty of fans so comfort shouldn’t be an issue. Don’t pack pants even in winter you will not use them but do pack extra hats and swim gear! Last noteworthy item is that the owners also went out of the way to help guide air travel requirements for COVID. Totally not expected but really appreciated. I had the best trip with my family and was so thankful for this beautiful place to stay. Thank you!

We absolutely loved our stay! There are so many things to rave about. Here are just a few. Check-in was sooo easy. Then on to the location of the condo within the complex. It is on the 4th floor, which gives you some great views and a beautifully lofted space, but it is also very close to the elevator, but not too close that it is loud. The parking space is also very close to the elevator, all of which made unloading very easy. You will love the keypad/lock. It is very secure and easy to use. We were in and unpacked in no time (even after unloading a huge haul from Costco!)
This condo was recently updated. The kitchen is wonderful and has everything you need, including a Vitamix, ice maker in fridge, and a very nice, full size dishwasher (washing pods included!) The bathrooms were fantastic. The showers and sinks were new and clean with great water pressure and light. There are 2 bedrooms. The master bed is so comfortable with a big dresser and closet. The ceiling fans in this place are also amazing. Our 3 daughters (12,14 and 15) slept comfortably in the second bedroom and were so happy to have their own bath. The washer and dryer were right out side their bedroom. They were new and worked awesome! We were so thankful that they supplied us with detergent pods too.
The living area was spacious with nice, clean furniture. We had a great time watching the Olympics there, but to be honest we spent a lot of time on the lanai. From here we could see the ocean, and watch the sunrise and sunset. It is pretty much shaded all day and protected from the wind. It has a high top table to sit at which helps you enjoy the view. On the lanai, we also found all the beach chairs, umbrellas, etc.
It's about a 5 minute walk from the condo door to the beach. AMAZING! Kamaole III is a fabulous beach. We snorkeled, boogie boarded, and jumped the waves in the afternoon everyday. There were turtles there everyday too, and often could be viewed in the shallow waters in the morning.
Restaurants and shops are within walking distance.
Pool and Tennis areas were amazing.
Grills were clean
TV's were big and nice and with cable.
Wifi was strong.
Overall, this was probably one of the nicest condos that we have stayed in on our travels. We will definitely recommend it to our friends and family! And hope to stay here again ourselves!

Renting this condo was a wonderful experience. The condo is as pictured with beautiful upgrades, furnishings and art. In all of our travels, JD and Rumi were one of the best hosts we’ve ever dealt with. They responded immediately to any questions or concerns and were very hospitable. Kamaole Sands is a beautiful complex and maintained impeccably. 4 stars on check in process was only due to the slower than usual process at the front office, this had nothing to do with the hosts. We would definitely stay here again without hesitation!

This was our first family vacation to Maui and this property was absolutely perfect! Close to the beach, restaurants, and excellent accommodations made our stay so nice. We loved having our morning coffee and breakfast on the lanai and then walking to the beach in the evening to enjoy the stunning sunset. JD and Rumi were amazing hosts from afar! The condo is gorgeous with extra little things to make it feel like “home away from home.” Our son and daughter loved visiting the pool after we had spent the day exploring or being at the beach. We definitely will visit Maui again and hope we will be able to be blessed with staying here again!!
