A very nice place to stay, this unit had an outstanding view of (as in >30ft from) the ocean. It is older, so it could use some TLC (e.g. bring your own Roku), but all-in-all it was a pleasant place for a Kauai trip.It is well located for any activities you'll want to undertake!

The property smell bad, furniture are out of date, beds are in very bad condition my mom and sister got a back pain because of those beds, We did not like this property at all. We have been in this Island before and this is the worst property We have ever been to.

This property is so well located. On the water, beautiful views, beach walking in either direction in minutes, local shops, fun restaurants....
It is also fairly quiet, except for the crashing of the surf.
A great place to stay if you want to explore Kauai, after you soak in the morning quiet and ocean view from the lanai.

Hot water heater was broken for 2 full days and needed to be replaced. Smoke alarm was broken and incessantly made sounds for 2 hours. Both issues were fixed but are examples that the condition of the appliances and maintenance of apartment caused our stay to be much less than optimal. View makes up for a lot of negatives but I would expect that paying 5,000$ for our stay everything would have worked and not needed maintenance to come multiple times. Late checkout request was denied, also disheartening as we had a 4pm flight out.

This is an amazing condo with million dollar view and location. Whales and turtles everyday to great us and we would stay again. The only issue was how dirty the place was, including dirty sheets, kitchen and dirty underwear with pad in the main bedroom. We washed the sheets grabbed cleaning supplies at Walmart and took care of iit and it was amazing after that. Management was responsive and offered to refund some but then we never heard back from them and no refund for cleaning. Even after all of that we would not hesitate to stay again and again!! This place is amazing.

Wonderful spot, turtles abound, easy access to all the key beaches and shopping and unit has good airflow. Nice Hawaiian decor but not beautifully furnished compared to many other places we stayed in Poipu. But, the unit needs some upgrades. TV, DVD operation is ridiculous. A simple app speaker like Sonos is needed so you can listen to your online stuff. Doors in/out and on cabinets need help. You have to be careful when using all. Bedrooms are like caves since windows face walkways so blinds stay closed. Not much can be done about that. Need to update glassware.

Our condo was beautifully located on the shores of Poipu. The location was spectacular. Nice quiet neighborhood. Unit was spacious and conveniently located between Poipu and Brennecke’s beach. Loved hearing the crashing waves all night.

The sunsets from this property are just beautiful...every night! This unit could use some maintenance, The slider screen was separated from the frame at the main slider, the bathroom exhaust fan did not work, meaning that room was fiercely hot, the toaster did not work and the slider in the back bedroom (twin beds) did not open. A good once over would be useful. Plus, we were aware that this unit is not air conditioned, however, the ventilation in this unit is dreadful and the unit was far warmer than other units we've rented on this island without A/C. There was probably more ventilation in the units that were above ground level, but not here. Being the bottom unit made the days after 10 am really hot and the late afternoons with prior the sun setting were really difficult to take.

We loved this property. There were turtles swimming right in front everyday. Easy to walk down to the beach. Gorgeous sunsets. Dolphins swam by very close every day. Just a special spot. One thing....the bedding sheets could use an upgrade. More pillows too.

We enjoyed our stay at the condo. The view is absolutely amazing, with marine life just a matter of feet away.
It does get hot during the evenings, and could benefit airflow with the addition of two fans.

The view was fabulous. The ocean sound was soothing. We saw dolphins from our patio. The unit was very clean and we loved staying there. The only negative was the parking. It was difficult to back out of the narrow spaces with cement pillars near the car.

This is an older condo. It sits right on a cliff above the ocean with amazing views. You can walk right out and look down and see turtles swimming! The unit itself could use some updating. Furniture is old and uncomfortable. AC would be helpful although we were ok with the various fans. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well appointed. All in all we enjoyed our stay.

This is a great condo in a great area. The view from the lanai is breathtaking. We spent every morning enjoying our coffee out there, watching the sea turtles and occasional dolphins. Quite with everything we needed for our stay. Walking distance between beaches was perfect.

I loved my stay at this condo. It was exactly as advertised. 10 min. walk to beaches and a couple restaurants, abt 15 min. walk to more restaurants. Saw whales every day. Very quiet, private location. I would definitely stay here again.

The best part of our rental experience was working with Kauai Vacation Rentals staff, especially Lucy! They were instantly responsive to all our requests. We did have several issues with the rentals condition. The very next day everything was repaired as promised!

We loved our stay at Poipu Makai B-1. It was so relaxing to go down the trail and sit on the lava rocks to watch the sea turtles. It’s a short drive to the beach or to get a Puka Dog. The condo had everything we needed for a wonderful time. I loved the view and even the Hawaiian cookbooks were helpful. We would definitely stay again.

Wonderful ocean front setting. Could have used an A/C unit, rather than fans for better sleep. Great coastal walk starting next door to unit. Saw whales, sea turtles, monk seals along the way.

The view from the lanai was everything!!! The location was great, we were within waking distance of two beaches, and a short driving distance to many stores and restaurants. We were quite happy with the condo and how well it was stocked. We did many meals at home, and had everything we needed! You truly can't beat the view. Waking up to the ocean every day, was fantastic. I would definitely recommend this property to others.

The location is wonderful! The condo is nicely furnished. The sunsets are unbeatable!! The property was clean but it’s dated and could use some updating. The locks on the doors did not feel strong and secure. Poipu is a great location on the island!

We spent 6 nights here and enjoyed the beautiful view. The beds were very comfortable & the condo is well equipped with updated appliances. However, it was difficult to find the unit, parking is a challenge due to concrete pillars and poor lighting. The rooms are hot and you will need all the fans available. Be ready to share with the cockroaches (you are in the tropics). Our upstairs neighbors were very loud. Some upkeep is needed, laundry doors off track, no bathroom exhaust fans. It is a short walk to the beach and a short drive to town. All in all, an enjoyable stay but would probably not return.

We loved the location of this property. It was walkable to Brennecke’s beach, Poipu Beach park, and Waiohai beach. For those who like long morning walks or runs you can run to Spouting Horn or Mahalapu. Sitting on the lanai watching the ocean and evening sunsets was great. The home was very well stocked and had many extras including beach chairs, beach umbrella, coolers etc. Check in and out was very easy. I highly recommend this property.

This place is perfect and very cozy. It’s located in between shipwreck beach and poipu beach both are a 10 minute walk in either direction. The condo was super clean and gets a nice breeze when the doors are open. There’s no AC but we didn’t really miss it. The kitchen is clean and the beds very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

Right on ocean amazing location. We totally love Kauai, haven’t stayed in a bad place. This unit on the upper end of the the places we’e stayed. When ever we see a bad review on any place, are thinking your way to picky!
