Maui Kamaole, Unit No. M-110
Our ground floor unit is located in the Melia "M" Cluster, and is among the newest and most private buildings in the Maui Kamaole complex. In 2016 we completed an extensive remodel of our condominium, including - new tile floors throughout; new tiled, walk-in showers; new cabinets/vanities in the kitchen and bathrooms; new stainless steel appliances in the kitchen; new, much quieter split air conditioning systems in the living room and bedroom, upgraded lighting throughout, new kitchen and bathroom plumbing hardware, etc.
Our unit boasts a spacious lanai off the living room, as well as a private courtyard in the rear, off the bedroom. Since this unit was among the last constructed, the architect incorporated many improvements in the design of the "M" cluster. Thus, our condo makes better use of the same amount of space compared to the condos constructed in the earlier years of the development.
Our unit has a beautiful garden view. Unlike some other units in the Maui Kamaole complex overlooking South Kihei Road, we do not have the corresponding traffic noise (e.g., trucks rolling down the road or to the small boat harbor at 6 AM). You are also close to the upper pool area, but not so close as to be burdened with any noise from the pool. Likewise, you do not have to contend with a noisy parking lot, as some units directly overlook the parking lot.
We are just a short five minute walk to Maui Kamaole III Park and Beach. This beach is one of the best kept secrets on the island. The "Locals" love the park and beach. Each evening you will find them there to watch the sunset with their family and friends. When we're on the island, we often go to the park to watch the sunset.
We are also less than a ten minute walk to Keawakapu Beach, one of the nicest beaches on the island. When we are on the island, we visit Keawakapu almost every day.
Our family visits Maui several times each year to check on the unit and to ensure that the unit is well stocked and in top-working order. Since we live on Maui several months per year, we often visit our condominium to ensure that all appliances and gadgets work.
We are aware of many condominiums poorly outfitted - for example, televisions that should have been recycled years ago, one pot for cooking, two coffee cups, five forks, phones that don't work, etc. The list could go on. Some owners never visit their units and are only interested in maximizing revenue with minimal investment in their unit. This is a classic case of buyer beware when selecting a condo to spend your hard earned vacation dollars and vacation time.
We recently installed a state-of-the-art, 55-in HD television, with all the Smart TV features. It is enabled to play Netflix, Hulu, Spotify, Amazon, etc. In 2019 we purchased a 43-in, Smart HDTV for the master bedroom with the same functionality as the living room television.
We have a full lineup of channels, including premium channels, from the local cable provider. Since Hawaii is two or three hours behind the West Coast, many of those live shows will broadcast several hours earlier than normal on the mainland.
In addition to the big screen HD TVs, we provide free, wireless internet access within the condo and free long distance telephone access to the mainland and Canada.
We recently added a new, plush, pillow-top king size bed in the master bedroom. You will enjoy a great night's sleep.
In the very rare event that a guest has an issue, our contact person on the island will handle any problems. Alternatively, you can contact us by phone, text message or email for a prompt response. In 2019 we purchased a new home in Wailea and spend several months per year on the island. We are often just five minutes away should you have any emergency.
This is a non-smoking condominium. Maui Kamaole is a non-smoking complex. If you are a smoker, you are advised to seek accommodations elsewhere.
We comply with the state of Hawaii in collecting and paying taxes. Our GET License and TAT Certificate ID numbers are GE (TA)-214-427-6480-01, respectively. We have posted copies of these documents together with our on-island representative contact information in our condominium and will provide that information to you prior to your arrival. The total of these two taxes is 14.25 percent and is applied to the sum of the cleaning and check-in fees ($205) plus the total cost of the rental. VRBO's software automatically calculates this sum when you book the condo.
