The unit is just as nice as the pictures show. It is clean and very well prepared for our stay. The kitchen is fully equipped and the bathrooms are clean and we especially appreciate it. The fluffy towels. The beds are comfortable and nicely furnished.The unit’s location is excellent. The pool is nice, not very big, but definitely enjoyable. The outside structure is dated and the elevator area needs cleaning and painting. We recommend this unit as it is a quaint reminder of how a family can afford a beautiful week in Maui without having to pay high resort fees. We would love to return someday.

We have been coming to Maui since our honeymoon 45 years ago. Many times at Haleakela Shores and it never disappoints. A408 is a beautiful unit that we would highly recommend. Few rental units have as nice an ocean view. Nicely and recently updated.
Best parking spot in the development. Very quiet. Well stocked for the beach. Management company very responsive when we had a plumbing issue.

Although the building is a little old, it has everything you need for your stay. (Tableware, beach amenities, etc.) Since the sea is right in front of us, we could go to the sea right away. We also saw many turtles on the beach in front of us. In the morning, we could see whales from a distance. We were able to walk to the shops in Kihei and a short drive to Wailea. The only thing that bothered me was that there were birds chirping on the roof in the evening and it was noisy. It's fine once you get used to it, but it was surprisingly noisy at first. However, I would stay there again. The key was electronic, and check-in and check-out were also mobile, which was very convenient. I'm Japanese, but I used a translator and had no problems. I was able to contact the management company (Rentals Maui) at any time and was able to stay with peace of mind.

Nice amenities. Super clean! This place is really close to the beach! What really made this place great was the small stuff. The attention to detail. Included in the rental was a basket of beach towels, swim fins, a body board, two coolers, sand toys, a wagon, everything you would need for a day excursion to the beach, Haleakalā volcano, or the road to Hana. While those things don’t seem like a big deal, when you don’t have them, and you see the prices in Hawai’i, you’ll be greatful you have them. If I had one complaint it would be that the AC units couldn’t really keep up. But I think if I understood the roof vent fan better, I would have used that instead of the AC. Unit is in the 4th/top floor which means it gets a little warm.

Very nice unit, clean, kitchen was well appointed. Maui rentals was very quick to replace the toaster and very responsive to questions. We have stayed at Haleakala Shores 8 times over the past 12 years. We love the set up of the units, very spacious. Unfortunately the pool area has not been kept up. The lounge chairs are ripped and filthy. The pool area was not maintained, electrical outage so bbq area shut down early and one of the bathrooms was shut down. Rules not followed and there was a lot of running kids and jumping in the pool. Not sure if we will return to these units

Right across the street from the beach and close to restaurants in Kihei.The sliding door to the lanai needs to some attention, it was difficult to slide open and closed.

This unit was a great size for our family of 6. Due to food allergies, we cooked every meal in the unit and the kitchen was updated and well stocked. It was clean and decorated nicely, but did not have extra blankets or linens. We loved the boogie boards, beach chairs and other items available for us to use! The AC in the unit is great for July temperatures. The lanai is tiny and only has a table for 4 with a sliver of an ocean view. As this was the only dining table (there is bar seating inside), we crammed all 6 of us outside for meals. Due to the location of the unit, the lanai didn’t get much of a breeze. The pool area was great, but the rules (no jumping, no toys of any kind, no loud noise) were a little much for kids playing in the middle of the day. The location is very convenient for Kihei shops and restaurants, Kamaole beaches and day trips to the Wailea area. There were a lot of homeless people at the nearest beach and what appeared to be a homeless camp in the parking lot across the street from Haleakala Shores. There was an issue with a closet door and the management company called right at check in to see when we wanted it repaired. The slider door to the lanai was impossible to open, but there were no other issues with damaged items. Finding lodging large enough for 6 with a kitchen is tough, and overall this unit was lovely for our few days in Kihei!

My friends and I were really pleased to check into the accommodation, as we found it was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. We really liked the location, as the beach was just across the road. It was a nice place to stay, as it was pretty quiet, however still close to restaurants and shops. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a low-key and relaxed holiday. Thanks for having us! :)

We had a great experience in the condo at Haleakala Shores. The location was awesome -- right across from a beautiful beach, close to shops and restaurants, and easy access to many tourist destinations. My friends and I enjoyed our stay -- the condo had everything we needed: comfortable beds, hot showers, sunlight, a balcony, laundry, parking, supplies and beach amenities, and more. We loved the open layout, except for the fact that the sliding wall between the living room and second bedroom doesn't go to the ceiling, allowing for light and noise to flow through. We would stay here again in the future, and recommend it to anyone in search of a home away from home in Maui!

Great for families as within walking distance to many restaurants, a Whalers market, great cinnamon roll shop and delicious shaved ice! The beach is a short walk with great coves and swimming. The condo itself was stocked with everything we needed and the beds were the most comfortable we've ever had.
