If you have young children this condo is located near Kalepolepo Fishpond which is easily the best beach on Maui for toddlers. Plus, you can find sea turtles resting on the rocks there, which is amazing! The master bedroom does get a bit warm, but there are fans to help cool you off. If you leave the windows open at night, you will start to hear traffic around 5 am, so we kept them closed. The pull-out bed is very uncomfortable, but we used several comforters provided to cushion the springs to make it usable. The floors could use a good mop, as our feet were pretty dirty if we walked around barefoot, but overall the condo was nice. The parking spots are insanely small, which caused some anxiety as I'm pretty sure the rental car got a few new door dings, but nothing major. Overall, the positives outweighed any negatives and we would definitely stay here again.

The condo is perfect. Close to many things in Kihei. Drives to other parts of Maui reasonable. The view is wonderful. And it’s right on the beach!
Only 2 (not so big) complaints: the parking spots are small. Large vehicles do not do well here. And the mattresses are very hard. Not great for my back, but we made do.
The stay was completely worth it. We had a wonderful time and loved the condo. Would absolutely recommend and stay again!

There was no AC. You had to have all the windows with no screens open to help cool off the unit. There are ceiling fans and a couple box and tower fans. But it's hot here in June and it would have been nice to have the ac it said it's supposed to have.
It's also super windy in the afternoons.

We had a wonderful time with family while we stayed at the Menehune shores property. We were able to see the beach right from our balcony. Beautiful views every day! The property came with boogie boards which our kids loved! The weather was nice from early morning until about 1pm and then the wind picked up. We only had to drive about 15-30 minutes away to find beaches that weren’t as windy. When it wasn’t windy we found ourselves relaxing on the beach and exploring the reef during the low tide. We really enjoyed exploring around the beaches by our condo. The property was well kept and we had plenty of towels and blankets and pillows. We were provided the basic amenities which helped us to have an easy going trip. Our only complaint is that we felt that the property could use a little updating and could provide a little more up-to-date amenities. The reason being is that our other family stayed at another condo on the property and we were able to make a comparison between our room and their room. We also wish that we could have been allowed an early check in and a late check out without having to pay for extra days like our other family was allowed in their room. Other than that we loved our stay. Thanks for such a wonderful experience!

First time staying in kihea, and happy to discover this property is in the quieter part of town. Still convenient to shops and restaurants, without the crowds and traffic that lie south. The unit has a gorgeous ocean view, easy beach access, and well-maintained grounds including a pool and deluxe rooftop grills. The fish pond is perfect for tots, since it's completely protected from waves. The unit had everything one could need, from awesome beach chairs and coolers to towels and a fully-stocked kitchen. Parking is free, safe and simple. The location is not on the clearest blue beaches, but you can find them 5 minutes to the north. My kiddos were fine, but if you're looking for snorkeling, you'll need a short drive. The location is also very close to OGG.and the town of Paia, making airtravel and the Hana trip much more accessible than other Maui locations. Plus, the town feels super relaxed and welcoming.
There's an on-site Indian restaurant with beautiful views; we've got an aversion to Indian food (that's on us) and were glad the strong smell of the restaurant didn't impact this unit's location.
Could not recommend this more highly for anyone looking to explore Maui from a well-appointed base, or looking for long stretches of deserted Beach.

The unit could benefit from a deep clean. For example, fans in closet covered in layers of dust and the dishes didn't seem clean. The location was decent in that it was convenient to Kihei restaurants, etc. There are much nicer beaches on the island though. We drove down to local beaches versus swimming at the one near the property. The water was brown when we were there, but other areas on the island the water was clear and swimmable. The twin mattresses in the front bedroom desperately need replaced. They are very thin and my son opted to sleep on the couch, he said the couch cushions were thicker than the mattress. This is ok for a quick stay if you plan to spend your time out exploring the island but if you are wanting a place where you can use the beach and pool near your unit, I would keep looking.

The unit was very much as described. We were right on the ocean and able to go to sleep to the sound of the waves. We saw sunrises and sunsets right off our patio. We had six people and our oldest used the pull out couch and then the three girls were in the second bedroom using the blow up air mattress in the unit along with the two twin beds. Everything worked as it should, it was centrally located and we walked on beach every morning. There are also beach towels, cooler, and beach chairs to use. Well worth it for the price.

Great location and clean complex. Unit is dated but it’s understandable as it’s a rental with high traffic usage. Couple of cabinet shelves are missing the pins so they’re unstable and a few dishes came flying off the shelf and broke when something was placed on it. Lol

The amenities were nice and we appreciated the coffee! Our one biggest downside was the street noise - we could hear traffic over the ocean all day. The front door didn't have a lock such as a deadbolt or chain. And a small thing - perhaps the cleaning crew is short, but the tops of all the door frames really needed a dusting. Parking was easy and we didn't find a lot of walkable places, but close drive!

This property is exactly as pictured. Clean beds were comfy. Great with 2 bathrooms, one for us and one for kids. The roof top was great for BBQing and watching sunsets and stars.
The only downfall for us was the road noise. You are 3 units in from an extremely busy road which means from 6am to 10pm you hear all the cars when outside on lanai or if have the windows open. This was disappointing as we love to hear the ocean waves. It was great to hear them in our sleep.
The kitchen was fully equipped including plastic storage containers which was great.
Everything you needed for a day on the beach was there. Note that the brach at condo is not really a swimming beach. Water is very brown/red from soil runoff, can't see past surface. But many nice beaches very close.
Very easy location to get to wherever your plans take you and if you just want to sit on lanai or beach tonwatch the whales- perfect location.

Our visit in Maui was very enjoyable.
Pros: Menehune Shores Condo is in a great location in Kihei and right on the beach. Beautiful long beaches to walk along to both sides of the building. There is a fish pond right behind the condo that is safe and shallow for kids to play in.
The condo unit that we stayed in was very good and met our needs. It was well stocked with kitchen ware for all our cooking needs and beach equipment to enjoy the beach. The unit has a fabulous view of the beach and ocean, it was a very peaceful view to wake up to every morning. There is no air conditioning in the unit, however there were ample fans that kept us cool at this time of the year.
Cons: However the unit could use some renovating. It was very tired looking and out dated. Some brighter and modern furniture would make it more welcoming. The kitchen could use a makeover ie granite counters instead of tile. The stools by the the bar were rusted and should be thrown out. In a previous comment from last year, someone had mentioned that the elements on the stove needed to be fixed or changed…… still not done. Pots and pans did not sit properly on the elements and hence did not heat the food properly.
I hope the above is taken as positive feedback by the owners to make the renters stay that much more enjoyable.
So overall a great vacation, would have been even better if it hadn’t rained on our last 2 days! 😊

This unit is located in a very well maintained condo-complex. The close proximity to the beach and the fish pond make it very attractive to people traveling with kids. However, the stove is awful - one of the burners wouldn't get hot enough to boil water and the other burners are such that you can't get them level. We would highly recommend Menehune Shores but the owner needs to replace this stove!

The view was awesome and great location. The check in and out was so easy. It was nice to have beach chairs and umbrella and cooler to take to the beach with us. The condo was clean, but the stove top was difficult to cook on because the electric burners were uneven. We found the mattresses to be too firm, but we all have memory foam at home so it’s not what we’re used to. The small windows in the master room need screens to keep the bugs out and there are a couple of the handles that need fixed. I was worried they would fall off and I wouldn’t be able to close it. We used the fold out couch and were unable to fold it back in as it was stuck and I did not want to break anything. The women at the front who checked us in was not at all friendly but we only had to talk to her the one time.

This location is incredible as it’s right on the beach and in front of the fish pond which is an area of the ocean blocked off by a lava rock wall. There were at least 18 green turtles who could be seen daily eating and resting along the rock wall during the day & sleeping on the beach at night. Plus the wall affords a safe & calm place to swim. The elevator is convenient. The rooftop is great. There was a cooler, boogie boards, beach chairs and noodles to use! Close to everything and good base to drive/explore the whole island!

We enjoyed our stay. The rental was a bit tired but the beds were comfortable. The view was okay. The beach and the pool were great. Not great for snorkeling but very good for kids.
Windy and a little far from the Kihei scene but also not as busy.
Our room was loud from the traffic and drag racers on the street.
When I asked the manager for a mop they were kind and prompt.
The parking spaces are very tight. Keep that in mind if you have a car.

We really loved the location that we stayed at, the view was beautiful and we really liked the small beach we could go to for our toddler.
The only draw backs were the TV, there setup for cable was really odd, we were unable to use the guide to see the channels. And some of the items in the unit were outdated, otherwise a great experience!

I chose this condo as we wanted a view of the ocean and right on the beach. Had everything we needed. Beautiful view from our patio. Early morning coffee watching the paddle boarders, walkers and runners along the stretch of beach. Wind comes up in the afternoon and we were quite sheltered and able to watch the windsurfers and kite surfers.The beds were comfortable, a little more firm than we like but that is our preference. King and lots of space in main bedroom and two twins in 2 nd bedroom. They were very accommodating and supplied a wonderful Queen double base inflatable mattress for our son to sleep on so we just moved the dining room table a little and had space for it next to the bar counter.The kitchen had all the utensils, dishes, mugs, glasses, pots and pans that we needed. We only did breakfasts and light lunches at the condo and it was well equipped.Not that many rentals come with condiments but would have been nice to have the basics like ketchup, bbq sauce, butter etc They supply a basic starter kit for the bathrooms and kitchen which was great and we only needed to add to the body soap as the little ones don’t last long with 5 adults.They had beach chairs,cooler, boogie boards, umbrellas and beach toys for your use and I found the chairs and the cooler to be very useful.The parking was a bit of a mission but then we did rent a huge vehicle so parking it in the narrow parking spaces was a bit difficult especially if you came back and the parking was quite full but once the restaurant patrons had left it freed up quite a bit.We found this complex to be the best of both worlds as it wasn’t in the middle of all the action like downtown Kihei but quite central to all the areas and convenient to get onto the highways to get around. You could hear the road noise from the patio which didn’t bother us and of course the view made up for it all.We loved our stay in this condo and would definitely

Menehune Shores is located in north Kihei and is a true ocean front property. The location worked very well for us as we visited the National park and the beaches.
This unit is on the fourth floor of the large condo complex and has nice ocean view as the pictures show. From the balcony, one can see the town and the mountain towards left and the ocean towards the right. The unit is towards the end of the building and is a bit far from the elevator. It is not bad at all though compare to some large hotel buildings.
The unit was very clean and well appointed. Essentials were provided and so were beach towels and beach chairs. We didn't really use much of those, but it's nice to know they were there. The unit also has a washer/dryer combo which we took advantage of. The dinning table sits six people comfortablly. There were plenty blankets and towels.
The complex is well maintained and has very nice roof top BBQ and picnic facilities. View is also great at the roof top. The ground is also appealing and has BBQ and a small pool. A small beach is on the side of the building, which is nice if you are not in the mood to drive. A restaurant is on site, but other shopping and dinning probably needs a car (a short drive away).
We didn't have problem checking in, nor during the stay. We didn't need to talk to the management company.
Overall, we had a great stay and were happy with the condition of the unit and the complex as a whole.

This was a great place to stay with the family. 2 baths + in unit laundry made it super convenient. Only downside is not having air conditioning but that was made known in the listing. Kihei location is also great Central access to all of Maui. The monsoon restaurant by the lobby is great right by the beach.

We had a wonderful time at Menehune shores. The condo was a good size for our family of 4 plus grandma. I was worried about not having AC (I don't tolerate heat well), but the cross breeze was perfect to keep the condo cool. The kitchen had everything we needed for breakfast and lunch, including Tupperware to take lunch with us. Looked to be a good supply of spices and cooking stuff, but I didn't use any of it. There were plenty of beach chairs, umbrellas, floaties, and a snorkel at the condo. Even a cooler on wheels!The sandy beach felt safe enough to let my 7 year old swim, there is a rock barrier preventing big waves and rip tides. This was perfect. Another area of the beach was great for whale watching and shell hunting. Plus all the sea turtles! The pool was perfect. Not heated, but still the same temp as the air so we all swam.The roof top had amazing views, I wish I would have watched the sunset from there. It just didn't work out.We didn't visit the restaurant or bar, but the food smelled amazing!The only trouble we had was with parking. The spots are small. We rented a minivan and it was snug to park. I wouldn't want to park anything bigger! We were also never able to get a parking pass. The office hours are very short and inconvenient. It wasn't a problem for us.Only thing I wish is that there was shave ice or ice cream within walking distance. This area is not "walkable" with kids. Everything is about 1.5-2 miles away and no sidewalks.

The kitchen had everything we needed and then some.
The view is beautiful, and there’s plenty of space for a family, also there was a cooler and beach chairs and pool tubes etc on site, which was great.
The pool is small, but perfect for occasional use
Family friendly place, and felt super comfortable and beautiful view. Area isn’t super touristy either which is nice.
Didn’t eat in the restaurant downstairs but it smelled divine!
The rooftop deck with grill was an amazing place to cook dinner and hang out and watch the sunset

No AC and the two fans provided were literally dripping with dirt/dust/rust
Since no one really wants to deep clean fans on vacation-I’d say either get some new fans or an AC unit or two, it would make a huge difference.
In general we were out and about all day and it was generally cool at night when we were there, but if it was a super hot time it would’ve been an issue.
Other than that there were some minor ghost ant issues, but if we were vigilant on cleaning crumbs and keeping all food in the fridge (and I mean all food. Bread went bad in 24 hours) it was totally fine.
We had an awesome time and I would def stay again, the view alone is worth it to wake up to and have coffee, or to go to sleep with the moon on the ocean. Thank you!

The condo is in a great location. My favorite part was enjoying the beach below and just relaxing on the lanai. Also, we saw turtles everyday in the protected fishing cove just outside of the condo. The pool was enjoyable too if you didn’t want to get into the ocean. If you have young kids the protected fishing cove made the water very safe and easy to play in.
The unit has wonderful views and would recommend it. However, a few suggestions for the owners would be a swiffer mop as the floors were very dirty, baking sheet/cookie sheet pan and extra forks. Biggest suggestion: New bed for the master bedroom, it feels like there is no support at the head of the bed so your head is lower than your body. Maybe the bed just needs to be flipped or rotated but it was noticeable. The twin beds we’re pretty comfortable, though squeaky.
Some favorite spots we ate in Kihei were Coconuts (fish tacos) and yes I thought they were better than Paia Fish Market and Tiki Lounge, loved the food there.
Overall, would definitely come back to Menehune Shores!

This was a really great condo with the building right on the ocean. It was perfect for what we needed. I loved eating dinner on the balcony with the view of the ocean in front of us. It was very close to restaurants and the store. Lots of great beaches in Kihei and not to far to Big beach. No A/C but we were comfortable.

rental management was not really onsite or available, no airconditioning at all just ceiling fans and room had a old person musty smell plus a vent was gross.positive was that the location was by the beach. they furnished boogie boards wacky noodles some snorkels ( we were unsure if they were cleaned as they looked used )etc.

The apartment is located in a well maintained and clean old building next to the ocean. There's a beach next to the building property that is really small with a high tide, but very nice and spacious with a low tide. The neighborhood is nice, close to grocery stores, restaurants, pharmacies, etc. The unit is also old but well maintained, well equipped, and clean. I give them five stars.

We all really enjoyed our stay at Menehune Shores! Check in was so easy and we loved that the unit had a code entry so we didn't have to worry about loosing keys. The beach was not too crowded and we were so surprised and excited to see the sea turtles there! Would definitely stay at again if we ever can come back to Maui!

While our stay was lovely and overall wonderful we had a few issues with the condo. Several of the outlets don't work and need updating. Dishwasher smelled terrible upon arrival and the smell wouldn't go away. Washer also smelled terrible but went away after I ran one load. All the sheets had holes in them, which was odd. For the price and the amount of time we were in the room it was overall great! Condo just needs to be updated!

The view was amazing! My family and I stayed at the property for 8 days. The check in process was easy breazy and parking was ample. The property is fully stocked with pots/pans, kitchen utensils, rice cooker, etc. We enjoyed our stay, especially the roof top bbq grill, pool and easy access to the beach.
We saw a few bugs, if you don't want these critters crawling into your luggage I suggest you keep your luggage closed.
FYI, you must register your vehicle upon arrival. Office hours are 9am to 2pm.

The property was in a great central location for all of our activities. It was also stocked with beach chairs, towels and snorkel gear. The beds were a little uncomfortable which would be my only complaint. Great price and location.

The pictures don’t do the property justice. We visited with our three teen children and the five of us were comfortable our whole stay. The condo is well laid out with two decent sized bedrooms and bathrooms, all the towels we needed for the beach, and everything we needed in the kitchen. The only notes I would pass onto management is that it’s probably time for a new bed in the master and new couch.

We really enjoyed our stay at your condo. The view is amazing. The breeze that came through the condo was very nice even on the really hot days. We appreciated the cooler the boogie boards and the chairs. That was super helpful. The sofa bed is not comfortable and is very squeaky. The street noise seemed loud at night, but other than that everything was wonderful. The condo was clean.

May 2019 - We enjoyed out stay in #425. Was clean and tidy. The view was good and hearing the waves as your go to sleep and wake us was so refreshing. It had a mid-sized portable cooler we used several times and the freezer has an ice maker that we kept on and extra bowled filled ready to go each morning. 6 well used beach chairs, well used snorkel equip and boogie boards that we enjoyed. The temp was in the 90's during the day and a condo without a/c was do able for 3 out of 4 of us. We slept with all the windows open. The master bedroom had a ceiling fan and the other room had a box fan. The front door had a lockable screen door with no key. Would have been nice to leave the main door open and lock the screen. No key to be found and was a complaint on another review.
The kitchen had a good variety of item. Toaster, crockpot, wine opener, knives, cookie sheet and 2 travel size coffee mugs that I used for my mama juice. There was plastic containers with lids but only small sizes. There were no large or mid-size bowls that had lids that were cooler friendly. There was glass bowls we used, but usable for the cooler.
Upon arrival you are required to register your car at the condo office. The office has limited hours, closes at 2 and you cannot check into the condo until 3pm. The office hour that are sent via email say they open at 8am, in the condo it says they open at 8:30 and 9am open time was posted on the office door. Defiantly run on island time. The ground crew was nice and kept everything nice. As for the parking lot, it was usually full and most people were like kindergartner and couldn’t keep themselves in the “lines”. Super annoying as several times we had to jump out before we could park and glad I had full coverage on my rental.
The actually rental office for this condo is off site. I had to contact them the 1st night because someone had a “wonderful time” on the queen size bed, busted 3 out of 4 center support legs and attempted to prop them into place. Laying on the bed was not a safe option. Cassandra at the main rental office was so efficient and pleasant. She had maintenance out by 1pm to fix the bed and credited us 1 night because we had to sleep on the mattress on the living room floor. While my husband was cussing, I was laughing because that’s called adventure.
Would defiantly stay here again and aim around The 4th Friday festivities so we could enjoy the street fair again in Kihei.

This is a great property especially for the price. The view was great! Most mornings the ocean was calm and very snorkel friendly. One suggestion I would have (maybe I skipped over reading this) is to make sure people are aware that there are carts available to get luggage and groceries to rooms. This was a life saver on trips to the room as Many rooms and parking places are not near the elevators. The only negative experience was at the pool with “Mr. Crabs”, the grumpy old guy who was definitely over-baked in the sun. In the multiple days there we never saw him in the pool, but he was often there sunbathing and had no problem yelling at other people’s children. An easy remedy would be to ask sunbathers to use the grass area for sunbathing if they are not planning to use the pool. He did stop yelling at children after one of the mothers stood up to the bully and told him to stop and let the parents do the job of parenting. Multiple parents thanked this mother after the conversation was over and voiced previous encounters with Mr Crabs as the children had affectionately taken to calling him.

This condo was a perfect place for us to stay during our first part of our trip to Maui. It was in s great location and had a beautiful view of the ocean. It was clean, had everything we needed, and the bonus was they had beach chairs and towels as well as boogie boards and snorkel gear for us to use! We loved the pool, it was so warm and the beach area there is nice and calm which is perfect for families. Thank you for a fabulous stay!

We really enjoyed our stay in unit 425. We loved the view and the convenience of the unit as well as being close to all the amenities, however upon entering the unit I immediately noticed that the tiled floors were sticky and dirty. I was not able to walk barefoot and kept sandals or shoes on during the entire week. We did not want to be bothered by someone coming to the unit to do the cleaning of the tiles during our short week and therefore did not mention this to the rental agency. We would have thought that with the amount we had to pay for a cleaning fee that this would not happen. The rest of the unit was very clean. All in all we had a great time and hope to come back again.

This property is in a great location. We loved how easy it was to get everywhere from menehune shores. The condo itself was clean and a good size with a great beach to walk down every morning. The sunset from the balcony were great. The beds are of need of replacing. Very uncomfortable king bed that sinks into the middle. And most of the plug ins don’t work in the kitchen and around the condo. Other than that, it was good. Thank you.

This unit was out dated.The kitchen had ants the top of the stove is not clean .The fridge is dirty. The drapes in both bedrooms was so dirty and mold on them.I'm sorry to write this the only thing I enjoyed was the view and the patio. The location was great!

The location, layout & amenities were great & as described. However, much work is needed in the unit. The shower door is falling apart in the main bathroom, the towel bar kept falling off the wall & the kitchen was not clean. The fridge was filthy on the outside & many of the dishes were put away dirty. That could be because the dishwasher was filthy inside as well. First thing I had to do wash wash all the dishes. There were small ants inside the cupboards (maybe because dishes weren't cleaned properly). We just kept all the food in the fridge which was clean inside. The linens are very worn & some of the towels had hole in them. We paid a lot of money for a unit in this shape. The oven was nice & clean & washer/dryer worked fine. They did provide 4 beach chairs in good condition & a small cooler as requested. The unit just needs proper maintenance & it will be fine. No personal contact with owners, just booked online & checkout online. Loved the rooftop view & BBQ's up there. Pool is nice too & very clean. Overall, I would definitely stay in this building again but not in this unit!

I chose this condo based on location and it was perfect! The condo itself was nice but I wish the cleaning crew did a better job. If I and other guests are to pay a cleaning crew, the condo better be clean. It's not hard to clean properly, especially when the space is so small. I could have given the the whole place a deep clean in 1-2 hrs. tops (but I was on vacation & it's not my condo, so NO WAY). I even had to clean out the medicine cabinet before I felt comfortable putting my things inside of it. Despite this I would stay here again without hesitation. I would just maybe contact the owner before hand with my "cleaning concerns" (I bet they wouldn't be too pleased to hear that they are paying someone to do a very subpar job either). In conclusion a great condo in a great location, just needs a better cleaning crew to be hired, but I would absolutely stay here again and again!!!

We met many friendly people and the roof top was awesome! Great pool area and the grounds were beautiful! Beautiful view and beach area! Was okay kitchen very sharp knifes were much appreciated as I love to cook! The beds are very uncomfortable in both bedrooms... living room furniture was also very uncomfortable. I had a water problem in the master bath but I have to say that when I called to report it someone came with minutes to fix it!! Location is great... we felt very safe there and I would love to spend another 5 weeks in Maui but would hope to stay in a much more comfortable condo

Great location. The Koieie Fishpond is only waist deep high making it a great place for kids to swim and beginner snorkel. The pool is chilly but the chairs are nice for sunning. The resident turtles are fun to watch. Beautiful maui sunsets from the lanai. Comfortable beds. Plenty of towels and beach towels. Windows open and ceiling fans in each room along with the maui breeze we didn't miss having AC. Close to Safeway, ABC store, and restaurants. The lanai table set is 4 comfortable chairs and a round glass table

The experience was amazing. Everything was well explain in the instructions we received. We did notbhave anybissurs at all and we enjoyed every minute. Need some maintenance in the washrooms as their getting old. The management company (rentals maui) did a great work and they keep you inform of everything in relation to the unit.
