We stayed 11/3-11/22. This condo was very clean and perfectly guest ready. Lots of quality supplies provided like soaps, shampoo, lotions, foil, wrap, dish and laundry soaps etc. Quality bedding and linens. Excellent view and location in resort. Loved the decor and vibe of this unit. Lots of families with kids dominating pool and beach area, so if you like an adult atmosphere be advised. We had several days of heavy winds making it hard to use pool and beach. We would definitely stay here again. Mahalo for the early checkin.

In addition to being beautifully decorated and maintained, the unit was well stocked with just about anything you needed for cooking, laundry, showering, and beach amenities (towels, umbrella, and chairs). It just felt like home! Any inquiries we made were answered promptly and to our satisfaction. Sugar Beach resort is located a short drive to local shops and restaurants in Kihei and Waimea. We would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend this unit to others.

Absolutely the best place we have stayed. It was styled so beautifully we fell in love with the condo immediately. The view to the ocean from the minute you open the door is what you dream about. The bed was so comfortable the only reason you would want to get out of it was to keep from missing any moment of Maui! James & Lori thought of every need you can imagine. They supplied soap, shampoo, towels, beach chairs, binoculars, beach towels, washer/dryer & detergent, paper towels, baggies, pen/paper, seasonings, cookware, fans, and even a sound machine that had waves crashing! When we got home we talked about the fact there was nothing that could have been added to our condo to make it any more enjoyable.

We usually visit the island in Feb/Mar. This was my first time during the summer - and first time staying at Sugar Beach Resort. I was on the island to spread mom's ashes in her favorite Maui places. First half was wonderful, everything was as we expected. Then the fires broke out and took away any desire to be out having fun while so many were suffering so much. We helped where we could, which is the best we could do. Every local had multiple horror stories. It was very eerie. The unit was perfect and very well stocked. But more than that, the Warden's went out of their way in being responsive to my three flight changes going home. They didn't have to go above and beyond, but they really stepped up to help. Can't thank them enough for their hospitality. The view from the penthouse is absolutely perfect. No complaints at all - would highly recommend staying there. If I'm ever in need again, this will be my first choice.

This unit had everything we needed and the resort is in a great location - close enough to Kihei for convenience but far enough away to be quiet and relaxing. The downsides were that there was a noise coming from the bathroom that was quite annoying and there was construction in the unit next door that was reallly loud one day when we were in the unit. The shrieking noise in the bathroom was mostl covered by closing both doors between the bathroom and bedroom but still an annoyance regardless as closing the room off also limited air flow. We were only provided one washcloth and no hand towels when we arrived. It took 48 hours to get those delivered, which was frustrating but not a deal breaker since we at least had full size bath towels. We would probably stay at sugar beach again but not sure I would do this unit due to the noise in the bathroom and delayed response of property management.

The condo was beautiful and comfortable, but there was a MASSIVE construction project going on next door. We couldn’t hear each other speak in the condo, all day long, for 4 of our 6 days. The air conditioning unit let out a loud shrieking noise half the night. Property management told us tough luck on the construction and that they knew about the project but they’re not required to let the owners of the rented unit or us know in advance about it. Their advice was to see if the owners would let us cancel and to go try and rebook a different property. Put in a maintenance request for the AC and my cell phone number, property management said they called the house phone in the condo (which we weren’t in because of the unbearable noise) and the AC was never addressed. The unit itself is great but these two items had a big negative impact on our stay.

The unit was clean and as described with views so beautiful we had trouble deciding whether to go out or just sit on the lanai and relax while watching the whales jump. Our departure flight was delayed by almost half a day, and the owners allowed us to stay late so we actually got to use the last day instead of sitting at the airport waiting. This is our fourth time to Maui and our favorite trip so far, would stay here again without question and will direct our friends and family to this unit as well!

Excellent location for whale watching tours, the aquarium and farmers market. Watched whales from our lanai, walked the beach and used the beautiful pool. I would love to come back for an outrigger canoe experience located right next door. Location couldn’t have been more perfect.
The boardwalk in the wildlife refuge was amazing too. Great place for nature lovers 💕

The unit was wonderful. Had daily whale shows from the balcony. Good location away from the bustle of Kihei. Beautiful beach. Turned out though, that the pool was closed for four days vs the two that we were notified of.
Resealing of the deck usually done in September, but instead, January. Had counted on some down time poolside, but we did other things instead.

This was a beautiful condo on a beautiful location of the property. Loved our stay! The AC in the bedroom was not as cool as the living/dining/kitchen area. We used the fan they had & set it up in hall to push air down hall to the bedroom. They have everything you can imagine for your stay!! It was unbelievable. We would definitely stay here again. Property needs to have improvements done, such as replacing the cracked table on the lanai. I contacted the management company but they said there was nothing they could do. The place had random garbage/cleaning items laying around. There are too many decorations as it leaves little space for guests to use.

Sugar Beach Resort looks dated upon arrival. The condo was clean, well equipped and had a spectacular view off the balcony.

We rented this condo for two weeks in Feb. 2022. Dealing with the owners was very easy & efficient but the management company was less professional & more scattered. The condo is beautifully decorated, well cared for & very quiet. The kitchen was supplied with all the utensils we needed to make meals. The linens on the bed were lovely & we appreciated the shampoo, conditioner & toilet paper in the bathroom. We loved the location of the condo on Sugar Beach. We walked the beach, swam in the ocean & watched whales breaching & the infamous Maui sunset from our lanai. There is a lovely bakery & an ABC store within walking distance. The grounds of the resort are immaculate as is the pool & hot tub. We enjoyed our stay so much that we have booked three weeks next Feb.

So my wife and I got married during COVID and we had to reschedule several times due to different restrictions and regulations from the airlines and Hawaii.
What I would like to say is that through this process James and Lori were extremely understanding and very helpful as hosts.
In relation to the property it’s is a nice condo and suited everything my wife and I needed to accomplish on our honeymoon. It is located on a very Long Beach great for morning walks. “One downside is it can get a little windy in the afternoons” but, you’re in Hawaii next to the ocean. It can get windy anywhere on the island.
Location: The good thing of where the condos is located is that it is pretty centralized on the island and allows for relatively short drives to your restaurants or activities. On the flip side to that you have to drive everywhere and there isn’t really anything great in walking distance. But all in all most of our drives were under 30 minutes which went quickly with all the scenic views to look at.
What I would say is that, the condo is nice, clean, and well kept. The pool and hot tub access add a nice touch if you don’t want to get into the ocean or want to go for a night swim. The beach is clean, long, and safe- great for walking. Most importantly James and Lori as host are understanding, friendly, and accommodating.
I’m not sure what else you could ask for in staying somewhere. I would definitely stay here again with James and Lori.

AMAZING condo rental with a nearly perfect experience all around. It was a little stressful on receiving check-in communication from the rental company - a brief delay there but after that, it was golden. The condo is lovely, comfortable and exceptionally clean. The furniture truly is very nice, and the kitchen and bath well stocked and everything is labeled for easy finding. I appreciated the welcome gift as a thoughtful touch and had communication from Maui condo rental (who handled the condo) throughout our stay to ensure all was going well. Beach towels, chairs and boogies boards for use were a nice touch too. We absolutely loved the condo and location was great - Kihei is a fun little area and it’s a great location for easy access either north or south. We will be back!

This condo is 100% PERFECT. Location on Sugar beach, amazing, ocean view, AMAZING, the condo complex, AMAZING. Everything you could want and need in a condo is there. Beach chairs, cooler, umbrella, boogie boards, even flashlight, all there! It was a great condo and so extremely pleased with everything. The property management company was a little cumbersome but hey it is Covid times so things are different.. Just know you will never get early check in.

The condo was beautifully decorated with an absolutely beautiful view. I don’t think I’ve ever stayed someplace as well stocked as this place. They had beach chairs, towels, an umbrella and even a cooler to use. The location was very convenient to go south into Kihei, across the island to Paia to start the Road to Hana and to the north to Lahaina. We definitely maximized our time with staying in the middle. Not a lot of close restaurants to walk to, but everything was within a couple minute drive. We had a wonderful time!

We went to Maui to celebrate our 30th Anniversary. This condo was a 10/10! We loved everything. Sitting on the lounge chairs by the beach and ending the day on the lanai was heaven! been renting vacation properties for over twenty years, and this one is up there with the best. Location is central for easy day trips. The resort property is very well maintained. We used the pool and the grill where we met many friendly owners and renters. There’s even water aerobics in the morning! The condo is exactly as described in words and photos (the view is to die for). Nice quality furnishings, tableware, kitchenware, bedding. We were thrilled to find Netflix so that we could follow our fav. series. The printer was handy for printing out our boarding passes. Shave ice, ABC Store and a bakery are a 10 minute walk down the beach. We had a lovely week.

If your going to Maui, this is the place to stay! Everything that is in the description of the condo is true. The condo has a great view of the ocean from the kitchen all the way to the balcony. The condo is beautifully decorated and very clean. The bed is very comfortable, which was a big deal after the fight there. They have almost everything you will need already at the condo. We walked to the farmers market and bakery every other day. The beach was great to walk on and saw a lot of fish and turtles. Everyone at the complex was nice and easy to get along with. We ended up there during the Hurricane and the owners checked on us daily during the storm. We highly recommend staying here and is where we will stay when we go back.

James & Lori’s condo was everything we could have hoped for and more on our very first family holiday with our just turning 1 year-old son. Upon arrival we were greeted by our light, bright, and thematically decorated home for the next week. It was plush, comfortable, and inviting in a way that none of the other condos in the resort appeared to be. But what made it truly unforgettable was the simply restorative beach and ocean view from the balcony. As soon as we walked out and saw it we knew our weeks of research trying to find the perfect Maui condo had been worthwhile. Getting awoken early each morning by our son while on vacation was also actually made pleasant as we got to watch the sunrise from the balcony before taking a family walk up and down the beach, coffee in hand. Then, every evening we would walk it’s length again as it set, this time with a cold glass of wine/beer in hand. Those mornings and evenings for me were one of the main highlights of the trip. Everyone was happy and relaxed, and we were together.
Leading up to, during, and after the vacation James & Lori had been brilliantly responsive via email whenever I contacted them. We were also amazed at the amount of amenities and appliances that came with the condo. Great internet, TV, every kitchen appliance, pot, and pan you could need alongside basic food items, etc. It is clear that James & Lori take special care in ensuring their guests don’t want for anything and truly feel at home there. We loved the condo so much that we contacted them and stayed an extra night. We’re already planning our return next year!

First time in Maui and wow. We had an amazing time. The view from this condo is breathtaking. The complex is beautiful and RIGHT on the water. Beach walks ending with cocktails and lunch at the resort sandwich shop topped the experience. I really appreciated you calling while I was there to check on us and if we had everything we needed. It was a nice personal touch. We appreciate all the amenities you provided for us to use, (and not have to buy). The beaches are spectacular and we had a good time just re-connecting as a couple. Thanks again for providing a quiet, romantic setting for us married folks.

We stayed at this beautiful condo in Kihei for a week in early May, and loved every minute of it. You seriously can't beat the view from the lanai - it's 180 degrees of gorgeous ocean and swaying palm trees. We loved listening to the waves and palm trees while making coffee in the morning, and waking up to that view was the best! The owners of this unit have gone out of their way to ensure that their guests have everything they need for an awesome and effortless vacation. They've provided beach towels, snorkels, beach chairs, coolers . . . you name it, it's within arms' reach. The condo itself is gorgeous - it's freshly painted, with new furniture and a super comfy bed. I was kind of afraid to mess it up, in fact! :) The location is really convenient, too. Right between Lahaina and Wailea, so it's an easy drive to either side of the island. We really enjoyed our stay, and can't wait to return!! Thank you so much for an awesome vacation

We spent a week in this beautiful condo and cannot explain how great it was in words...because it was all about the view and the atmosphere. When you walk in, all you see is ocean, palm trees and sky!!! You hear the waves, and can hardly believe you are staying so close to this amazing beach!! The owners have gone to great lengths to make their condo beautifully decorated, organized and comfortable. You will feel as though you are staying at a beach house from a magazine! There isn't anything I would change, and it has inspired me to decorate our cottage...on the Atlantic Ocean....with some artwork.
The check-in process was a breeze and we like the App for my iPad that sent great information and then our pass code for the door before we arrived. Without hesitation We can recommend this condo to anyone wanting to stay in Maui. Thanks to the owners who have taken renting out their condo seriously, and made it first class in every way.

The view from the balcony is amazing! This apartment has clean, comfortable, updated furnishings, and came equipped with everything you need to make yourself at home including soap, shampoo and conditioner, laundry detergent, spices for cooking, and beach chairs and towels. We rented a pack n play and a jumper for our 5 month old son. The pack n play fit snugly beside the bed in the bedroom and there was sufficient space for the jumper in the living room. James and Lori also provided us with shopping information and directions from the airport prior to our arrival, which saved me from having to find this information. My husband and I would not hesitate to recommend this unit to a friend.
Sugar Beach Resort is situated on a nice stretch of beach. While there were several people in the pool and BBQ area, it never seemed too crowded or noisy. There is plenty of grassy area or sand to spread out and relaxed. We especially enjoyed long walks on the beach while watching the sunset. In addition to Dina's Sandwich, Sugar Beach Resort is walking distance (walk on the beach, not the road) to an ABC store, shaved ice stand and bakery.
This unit located at Sugar Beach is perfect for a relaxing low key Maui vacation!

So nice to be able to cook meals in and also use the BBQ's at the pool. My husband enjoyed meeting other guy's cooking at the BBQ's. It was quite the social atmosphere. We have been to Maui several times and really liked the location of your condo. So much better than staying in a motel with all the amenities you provided. Thank you so much for the wonderfully decorated tropical atmosphere we had an amazing vacation and will be booking again real soon.
