This condo is in a great location and easy walking to spectacular beaches, great places to shop and awesome places to eat. I have read lots of comments/reviews about the noise in relation to KKN condo's and it's somewhat noisy anywhere you stay in Kihei. As far as this particular condo, the bedroom has an air conditioner unit, and if you turn it on (even just the fan part), it totally drowns out any and all noise in the area. Pull the wooden curtin and it also helps to block the noise and light. The bed was comfortable. The condo was well stocked for the beach ... towels, chairs, toys for kids, umbrellas and even a few coolers. The lanai (balcony) has great seating for meals and other comfy chairs to sit and drink your morning coffee, read or watch the sunset. There is a great view of Kameole' 2 beach and the famous Kam 2 sunset wall. We have stayed in several locations in this area and by far, KKN is one of our favorite places to stay. Would we stay in this particular condo again? ... ABSOLUTELY, it was comfy and close to all of our favorites in Kihei.

Checking in and put was a breeze. The room was cute and well stocked. Only complaints are there wasn’t a lot of storage in the closet and there was some noise from the stores nearby. We loved our stay and are glad we found this vrbo. There are some great food options that you can walk to as well.

Great place to stay for my solo trip to Maui. Located in a town with plenty of beaches and restaurants, and a central location on the island. New AC unit in the bedroom worked great. Everything was clean and as advertised!

A very nice condo and close proximity to the beach. Air conditioning in the bedroom, which was great. It did get quite warm in the main living area as there is no air conditioning there, but we found if we opened all the windows, it helped somewhat.

I'm very familiar with area. We choose the unit due to location. The unit had pretty much everything you needed. Clean and great lanai. We did not get to enjoy the beach due to work but it looked like it had all the beach goodies needed. Only suggestion is to list the bed size on your posting. A full size bed for 2 adults is not feasible. My husband is a big guy we have a king bed at home. This was a problem for us as I had to sleep on sofa bed and it was not too comfy, my back hurt the entire stay. Besides that we had zero issues, would recommend if you don't mind the small bed.

Our place was perfect for two adults and two younger kids. The decor was fun and beachy and the place was FULLY stocked with anything you might need. Communication with the property manager was prompt and friendly. Overall, we would recommend this unit to someone wanting to visit the beautiful island of Maui!

Very affordable place perfectly situated in Kihei. Close to everything right across the street from the beach. The location of this room is great. You don't hear the cars. Great a/c in bedroom. No bugs, no mold. I've stayed in 30+ rentals on Maui and this is a well cared for place. They provide all the badic items for the beachgoing vacationer who wants to make their own meals.

Best part of this rental is how easy it is to lug stuff to the beach and the owner provides everything a family could need to spend all day down there - you can run back up for lunch or dinner and it’s no further than your car would be!
Laundry is $2 wash/1.50 dry and there is a change machine. Upper cupboards are a reach if you are shorter. A mixing bowl addition would be wise.
Lanai is great view (backside of sunset) of a piece of beach and comfortable. We noticed a lot of owners had foldable drying racks and that would be a great idea for this property as well rather than trying to lay stuff out or use hooks.
Bedroom was comfortable and A/C works great. The noise issue is real - the problem, which we thought we’d be able to white noise thru, is that the windows are older louvered slats like an RV. Every conversation in the lot outside (we know how to drive a moped after endless instruction although we never rented one) is clear and late night and early morning runs to Subway (yes, it’s a thing) are loud. Road noise is loud. The Maui roosters are (expectedly) loud. We just never got used to it so just shifted our day. Worth it for the convenience, but between that and the really bright light, this is not a sleeping vacation.
We loved the pool and the property’s location to everything is just beyond any complaint. We had a great two weeks - extra paper supplies (2 rolls of TP won’t work for 2 weeks) for longer visits would be appreciated.
A great stay as long as you like to go and do!

My family of 4, including children 8 and 10, enjoyed our stay at Teri's apartment for 3 nights. Teri was easy to communicate with and very responsive to my questions. Detailed instructions were provided from the airport to the condo, including where to park to bring us closest to the apartment. Unfortunately, I didn't pay attention to that part, but the very nice and helpful security guard led us to where we needed to be. We arrived after 8 pm, so checked-in with the office the next morning to get our parking pass. The lady there was also very nice and helpful. The apartment itself was as described/as shown in photos. The towels and linens were clean, we didn't cook anything while there but the kitchen drawers seemed well stocked, and we took advantage of the beach chairs in the closet. The bed was fine; my husband and I slept comfortably. My children slept on the pull-out couch without any problems. Since it was the end of July, we had the fans on to keep us cool overnight. One kid really liked the blanket from the closet; not too thick, not too thin, and was really soft. The apartment faces the strip mall next door, so the noise level was a little loud at night, but as the stores close by 9 pm (I believe, maybe earlier), it got quiet soon enough.
The condo itself is in a great location on S Kihei Road. Penny's Pizza and Pasta next door was a hit, so we ate there for dinner twice of the 3 nights we were there. The whole road is lined with eateries and gift shops, including an ABC Store that we walked down to the first night to grab a few things. More down the road we found the Lava Rock Cafe because we were actually trying to go to the highly popular cafe in front of it, but the line was too long. We were very happy we found the Lava Rock Cafe! We ate there all 3 mornings. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful, especially recommending places to check out. The condo is also right across the the stretch of beach, so we trekked out there one morning to try fishing, but to no luck. My husband went out the next morning as well, and again had no luck, but at least the beach was in walking distance. We also had fun in the pool after driving around Maui all day. It was big enough for several families.
Overall, our family had nothing but a positive experience with this apartment and condo. We highly recommend anyone considering it! Thank you, Teri!

Everything listed was accurate. The condo community was very friendly and us “pool regulars” enjoyed pool time chats.
Pool was emptied 17May for annual maintenance but back open May 19th. Also pest control sprayed one afternoon so you know they are taking care of the property.
The unit is decorated with cheery bright colors and many local artists paintings. Very comfortable. The bathroom is updated with cool blue theme and great step in shower .
Posted was “ close to shopping and dining”. The condo is at the furthest limit of the complex property backed up to a very busy strip mall! Subway and moped/electric bike rental company are literally right outside the bedroom window!
Delivery trucks start arriving/idling 0445-0645. Loud car noise and booming base 24/7 was very disruptive. There is a very thick folding door to pull across the windows but it cut air circulation.
I didn’t read far enough down reviews to catch this before booking. It was previously noted.
It is convenient and located to beach access but not the ohana I was looking for.
I’ve been to Maui/Kihei area 8 times now and won’t need to rent here again.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was right across from the beach and had a nice view of the ocean. Check in was easy and the owners were easy to communicate with. We loved having all the beach amenities: multiple beach chairs, an umbrella, boogie boards, coolers etc. The condo was well stocked with spices for cooking and anything you might need. The bed was comfortable. My kids said the sleeper sofa wasn’t super comfortable, but what sleeper sofa is. The AC and fans kept the unit comfortable. It was nice to have wifi and cable as well. It was a great price for the location and amenities! I marked it down 1 star on cleanliness because the shower didn’t appear to be clean and had remnants of previous guests. But the remainder of the condo was very clean. Overall great stay and we would enjoy staying here again!

This was a wonderful property. Some reviews mention delivery noise, the chickens will wake you up before that and chickens are everywhere on the island. We were very happy with this place in South Kīhei. It was spacious and cozy. We really enjoyed the Hawaii / beach decor. The kitchen was well stocked. There were extra towels for the beach as well as boogie boards, beach chairs etc. You can see the sea from the balcony. It’s a great location, close to the beach and businesses and stores and restaurants. The only thing is that, because of its location, you also get some of the noise that comes with that, but it did not bother us so much. The fact that you need to check in at the security booth is a bit limitating as it’s open from 9 am to 5pm. We checked in way after 5pm and we’re out exploring before 9am. So we made a point to come back earlier to check in the next day and get that parking sign but there was no one at the booth even though it was short after 4pm. Luckily, our car did not get ticketed or towed. Otherwise, we were really happy with our stay !

This property was close to a beach and convient to everything, clean and fairly well equip. However, The bedroom side of the condo backs up to a strip mall. Besides the noise from people shopping and talking too loud there was the delivery trucks that arrive nearly every day at 4-6 am with air brakes, back up alarms and banging around. And the lights from the mall are on all night. There is a heavy shade that you can pull over the windows but then you have no air circulating. Even with the air conditioner going you have to leave a section uncovered for it to work.
While we were there they put a new sidewalk in with all the banging, back up alarms and cement trucks. Fortunately that only took a week. There is traffic noise including the cars with the loud base speakers that go by periodically all day long. None of this has a solution that I can think of so if you don't mind noisy this is a nice condo. I was surprised that it did not have a washer and dryer in the condo (I'll have to watch that point from now on, it just never occurred to me that it would not have one) There is a laundromat on the premises but We were there a month so it meant we had to pay to wash our sheets and towels. And it needs a full sized ironing board.

Had a great time in this one bedroom condo that was located right across from Kamaole Beach #2. Lots of places to eat and shop within walking distance. Partial ocean view from the patio which was great for relaxing. If you check in after the office closes you have to wait till morning to get your Wi-Fi password and parking pass. Equipped with beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, and body board. No snorkel gear that I saw but rental places are a short walk. Overall it was a great stay in a wonderfully located condo.

We loved our relaxing stay in Maui. The condo was great with everything you need to make meals and blend drinks. There is lots of beach equipment including chairs, an umbrella, boogie boards, coolers as well as some kid's toys and life jackets. The chairs on the lanai were super comfy and I loved drinking my morning coffee with a view of the ocean and beach. We loved the decor and would look forward to coming back to our homey condo. The only con would be the bed wasn't the comfiest for us. First of all, it's a double bed when we are used to a King, so seemed really small, and it was really soft when we like more firm mattresses. (probably just us being picky!). We weren't bothered by the garbage trucks that others have reviewed on, we didn't hear them over the A/C unit as we didn't have any wind and it was hot - so the a/c was great. The roosters however start early in the morning and are all around! But we enjoyed waking up early and making the most of the day!
Overall it was a great visit and a great place to stay and we have already recommended it to family and friends!

We have been to Maui 3 times and have always stayed at this condo complex for a reason ..Great location!!! Easy access to beach it’s literally across the street , restaurants and shopping . This condo was great and would definitely stay here again . Yes it’s on the side of the strip mall so it can be loud in the morning when trash trucks come but we easily ignored that . The roosters are also loud but they don’t know better !

Stayed at Teri’s property for 16 nights and we had the best time! Check in was very easy, loved the beach theme of the condo! My favorite part of the property was the lanai - sipping coffee early in the morning while you watch the waves. They have everything you need for the beach! Loved that there were a lot of hangers available for my dresses and for my husband’s dress shirts and glad that the dresser in the bedroom was very spacey. The bathroom was really nice - looked like it was newly renovated. Lots of kitchen equipments - they have a dishwasher but we chose to hand wash everything we used. Best location - so many shops and really good restaurants around. The pool area was nice and quiet - spent some afternoons here since the trade winds were pretty strong. Would love to go back soon!

It is in a perfect location. Your within walking distance to lots of restaurants and shops. Your also right across the street from a beautiful beach and you can easily walk to other beaches. The condo has everything you would need to bring to the beach from beach chairs to ice chests to a beach umbrella! I didn’t do any cooking but I think that the kitchen had everything I would need if I did. The bathroom looks recently remodeled and it was great and I loved the shower. The only thing that’s a little negative is that I dropped something in the bedroom it went behind the bed and when I retrieved the item it was dirty. When I looked behind the bed there was so much dirt and dust plus a cup. I think that’s something that’s easily missed when routine cleaning and it did not stop me from enjoying my stay at all. Overall I still would give this place 5 stars. Also, when communicating with Teri, she was very nice and patient with me and had great advice. Thank you Teri for sharing your little slice of paradise!

I have stayed at in this condo four times over the past years and return again and again for the following reasons... The location is fantastic, central to all areas of the island and across from the best beaches in Maui. The condo is comfortable, quiet, clean and the lanai has a great view of the ocean. The pool is clean, the grounds are well maintained and you are within walking distance of many restaurants. I would recommend this condo to anyone who wants an affordable, casual, relaxing trip to Maui where you can swim in the ocean upon waking, snorkel from the beach, walk back to the condo for lunch, swim in the pool in the afternoon, take a little shopping trip to the nearby communities, watch the sunset from the beach or lanai and then go out to dinner in any one of the fantastic restaurants. The price makes Maui affordable!

Loved sitting on the lanai any time of day or night. The condo is comfortable, relaxing and well equipped. Everything in this part of Maui is easily accessible, and a good starting point for longer excursions. The little mall next door had just about everything I was looking for. To stock up on meals we went to Safeway, which was only about 5 minutes away. We walked across to the beach for morning walks, midday swim and read, and wonderful sunsets. Early mornings were good for snorkeling. Wish I was there right now!

Thanks Carolyn for the stay In your unit. The location cannot be beat, right across the street from the beach with a great view from the deck and close to all amenities. The unit was very clean and well equipped. The queen bed as well as the sofa bed were very comfortable, the appliances were new and in great condition, there were plenty of towels, kitchen and household supplies. Carolyn was a great host and responded to all questions and inquiries in a very short period of time. I knew there was only broadband Internet in the complex so I brought my own router and had fast wireless access with no problems. The TV's were good with a great selection of channels. All of this along with the reasonable rates makes this unit the top of my list for future trips to Maui.

Sorry this has taken so long to write! We stayed 16 nights last October, our 5th visit to Maui and 4th time staying in this complex. We loved the view from lanai and the location of this condo. Ok, not the most updated of condos but clean and fine and very relaxing. So close to shops, restaurants and beach, we hired car but did not need for many days and next time may just hire for part of time. While we were there there was a tsunami warning, very efficient it was too with all the information given to us.
Slight drag having to go to pool for wireless connection but wired connection fine and has phone which is good if, like us, you do not have USA mobile.
We have stayed in 2 other condos at resort and this was the best location for us.
Would be even more perfect if payment could be made via visa or mastercard. Cheques not possible if no US bank account and money transfers are expensive plus you cannot be sure correct amout arrives due to exchange differences.
All in all, great stay and hope to return.

If you read the owner's write up you think you were going to be stepping into a well kept, recently updated, clean and comfortable condo. I think it's time for VRBO to start making owners DATE their information. This condo has not seen any updated in many years! It has the 1970's cupboards in the kitchen and bathroom that are present in the never-remodeled KKN condos. The carpet in the living area and bedroom is dark green, nasty and ugly. The unprofessionally installed, faux hardwood floors have gaps filled with dirt that can not be removed that was dirty. (Within hours of walking around in clean white socks they were black on the bottoms.) The sofa is very uncomfortable because the cushions don't fit properly so the edge of the sofabed frame digs into your legs. Their are no living room chairs that are comfortable to sit in to watch TV -- only the dining room chairs and two outdoor chairs with misfitting cushions.
When we arrived the tub and tub enclosure were filthy. My wife prefers a bath but would not use that tub with the mold and dirt in it so I went to the store and bought cleaning supplies and spent one morning scrubbing and cleaning the tub, shower doors, area where frame meets the tub, etc. I emailed the owner and offered to send before and after photos assuming she would be surprised at the situation and want to reprimand if not fire her cleaning staff but she responded: "I spent a lot of time cleaning everywhere around the tub and shower doors when I was there in May (look at the date of our stay please) and had it very clean. This goes to show how quickly it grows back. I really do appreciate your efforts. I will try to bring it up to the cleaning lady but she does so many great thing for me, I hate to get too grumpy. Lets keep in touch. Carolyn "
She obviously is happy to have her paying customers do what she is paying her cleaning staff to do because they "do so many great things" for her. (I wonder what?)
Some of the problems with this condo are:
- no DVD player (no way to watch a movie)
- no wireless router ($25 at Walmart)
- sliding door to cover windows in bedroom doesn't work because you can not run air if it's closed and the track doesn't go to the wall
If by "Hawaiian motif" they mean fake woven mats cut to fit poorly over the exhaust fan and cupboard doors, childish fish wallpaper border with the fishes cut out and stuck above the sink and garage sale finds hung on walls then this is it!

KKN was the perfect location for our family gathering on Maui and your condo was the perfect unit for our daughter, her husband and their young son. They enjoyed being so close to the beach and the unit had more than they expected in the way of beach toys, chairs, etc. Saved a lot in not having to buy all those extras. The condo was very comfortable, clean, and well supplied. We will definitely hope to stay in this unit in the future.

We stayed at KKN in 2008, so we knew the location and grounds were very nice. When we found this unit we were concerned noise would be a problem because it is near the main road. With very few exceptions, this unit was actually quite quiet. For sleeping, the bedroom has a sliding solid accordian panel keeping the room quiet, dark and any remaining background noises covered with the steady hum of the airconditioner and ceiling fan. (In these 2 buildings closest to the road, most units at best have only the fan.) The counters aren't granite, the appliances aren't stainless steel and the cabinets a bit old, but it is clean and very nicely provisioned. The ocean/beach view is very nice. There is enough mountain view from the lanai to easily see if the summit is cloud free and even a peek-a-boo view of Molokini! The biggest problem I had was finding an unsecured wireless connection that was strong enough for my WiFi capable-no data plan cellphone to get the online Molokini tour discount! (Starbucks is a short drive away.)
A tip we learned this trip on snorkeling...a drop of dish soap/shampoo and about a table spoon of tap water rubbed around the inside of the glass with a finger, drained and air dried each night will keep your mask clean and fog free...unless you wash it away with too many sea water rinsings.
Now is a great time to visit Maui. With free airmiles from a credit card, round trip Hawaiian Air tickets for the two of us totaled under $400 and a full size rental car with all taxes for 10 days was $171...if you include the $20 bill somebody left us under the front seat (Alamo via carrentalsavers.com)! With gas at $4.85/gal, we did spend another $140 driving to snorkeling spots, around west Maui and to Hana. With take out sushi from Foodmart & beach chairs from the condo, we had several fabulous water front sunset dinners on hidden beaches we had all to ourselves, for about $20 per night! Maui can easily be expensive, but it is certainly not a requirement for a fabulous vacation.
I only hope this unit is available for our next stay on Maui. Add a WiFi router & I give it 6 stars. Thank you Carolyn!
