Included all the beach toys too big or too heavy to pack - towels, boogey boards, snorkel equipment, etc. We had fun just outside the door - walking around the tide pools, enjoying the sunsets and watching turtles and surfers. The information in the room from the owner took us to some wonderful snorkeling spots! Awesome vacation!

We had a great experience at Bob’s condo. He was very easy to communicate with. We had everything we needed and the view to the beach was stunning! We were visiting for the Ironman WC and the condo is on the run course which, was perfect for my family to cheer and stay comfortable.

Great place for a relaxing oceanfront stay. Very clean, kitchen well-appointed, bed very comfortable, internet very fast. The multiple ceiling fans were fine for all but the most hot/humid summer days and the AC, when needed, was quite welcome. Would definitely stay here again!

We had a wonderful stay at this condo and would definitely stay here again if we return to the island. As others have said, the views from the large lanai are amazing. We barely left the lanai the entire 10 days we were there. The best stocked kitchen we’ve ever had at a rental. I strongly recommend this property if visiting the area. The condo is clean, well supplied, and centrally located to just about everything. We couldn't think of anything more that we needed - and there were several things that were available that we didn't know we needed until we needed them! It would be a great place to stay in any location, but the view from the lanai is beyond anything we could have hoped for. We would happily stay in a tent to have this view! Watching the tide, the waves, and the whales never got old, and it broke our hearts a bit to leave. In the meantime, we'll hold the "aloha" close to our hearts until we can return.

This the best condo I have stayed in Kona Bali Kai! The apartment is beautiful furnished and spotlessly clean. It is filled with everything to make your stay comfortable.
The room is quiet.
The view off the balcony is delightful for seeing surfing, crashing waves, and sunsets.
Bob is a gracious host. He responds quickly to questions.

Location location location! That is what this place is all about. We loved the lanai! The pictures don't even do it justice. It was fun to sit there and watch the surfers, whales and sea turtles. The sunsets every evening were so spectacular that we scrapped our plans to eat out and instead cooked or ordered out while enjoying our own private view of the sunset. In addition, it was close to a number of beaches and other attractions. The property itself is a little dated, but this condo was a great fit for our family of four! We definitely recommend.

Had a blast at Bob's condo. The view was to die for. The property is clean, quiet and within walking distance of a ton of stuff. Communication with Bob was always extremely prompt. Had two very minor issues shortly after arrival (it happens) and Bob sorted them out lightning-fast.
The condo had everything we needed for a great stay. Also, I don't normally sleep well on vacation, but I loved the bed in the master bedroom. I slept better than I do at home! The sound of the crashing waves is an awesome lullaby! If we ever find ourselves in Kona again, we would definitely come back here.

My sisters and I had a marvelous week in Hawaii. We loved staying at this condo. Clean, easy to access and owner easy to work with, It was well supplied with what we needed. We enjoyed watching surfers from our lanai as well as exploring the tide pools outside the condo. A green turtle came up to bask on the rocks one afternoon.

My kids and I had a great time! Condo was clean and has everything you need. Right on the water and can’t get any closer. Spent my mornings with my coffee on the lanai watching the surfers and relaxing as the sun came up. Didn’t even use the A/C at all. Left the back sliding doors and front door open and the ocean breeze kept it cool. Had the sliding door open at night and slept to the sound of the waves and cool breeze.
Just when you think that the sunsets can’t get any better, the next night did get even better!
Condo is close to beaches, shopping, restaurants, and downtown Kona. You can walk around and enjoy. Definitely check out the Hawaiian Ice place downtown too!

All four of members of our family felt this was a great place. The view is tremendous. The area is safe the tide pools are amazing. Owner has toys for beach as well as anything you would need. It was very clean and A/C works like a champ. 100% would stay again!

The condo was updated and clean. The location was perfect, just a few minutes from downtown Kona. We spent every morning and evening on the lanai watching the surfers and the sunsets. We hope to stay here again and would definitely recommend it to others traveling to Kona!

This fourth floor unit has excellent views that just cannot be matched. New sliders from both the living room and master bedroom go out to a large balcony from which you can watch surfers and whales. You simply cannot get closer to the water than from this condo. Most of the buildings along this stretch of the island were built several decades ago--the price you pay for the location and those views. However, kitchen has been nicely updated and is well-appointed with everything you might need. The unit is clean and comfortable and we'd certainly rent from our excellent host again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this condo. The view was beautiful and we looked forward to seeing the surfers out each morning and enjoyed the sunset in the afternoons. There is a small beach next to the building and it was easier than walking or driving somewhere else. The owner was responsive and the listing was accurate. The view is truly magnificent, we couldn't have asked for better sunsets, waves, and marine life viewing! The air conditioning was heavenly, although we were inconvenienced by a repairman coming very early in the morning on the second day when we wanted to be relaxing and recovering from the trip, and no repairs were actually done due to a part that was needed and a long repair process that the owner decided to forgo. The condo was spacious and nicely decorated, however a lot of the fixtures are outdated and covered with rust/dust and corrosion. Many of the lights didn't work. We weren't sure whether it was due to not having bulbs or simply being in need of repair. This caused the condo to be very low lit in the evening, making it a bit gloomy and hard to read or see properly. There was a thick layer of dust on a lot of the furniture when we arrived. We called the owner and the cleaners came back and it was better the next day. In the kitchen, the coffee pot appeared very old and the heating plate was rusted and corroded from burned coffee. The coffee pot itself still had grounds in it from the previous tenants, and the basket had a thick crust of old coffee that had spilled over and was never cleaned. There was no toaster, just a rusted out toaster oven that was coated in some kind of film. The floors left our feet black if we walked around barefoot. We told the owner about these things, and he apologized, yet he seemed to think it wasn't a big deal, and seemed to imply that since we had such a magnificent view, we shouldn't complain about the condo being dirty. The shower head was mounted very low, so my husband and I had to bend over to wash our hair. We are both tall, and the shower spray hit us around the shoulder area. Bathrooms are outdated with old fixtures. Some things in the condo had just reached that stage of being so old that even if they were clean, they still looked dirty just due to age. The neighborhood was little rough for our taste. Overall, just a strange vibe, like everything was a throwback to another time, rather tired and sad. We very much enjoyed the view and the linens were clean and there were even beach towels for us to use, which we appreciated. There were a couple of boogie boards in the closet as well, and some sunscreen and after sun lotion left from previous tenants. If you're into a rustic type of stay in a laid back surfer type community of dirty feet and vintage lodging, this is a great place for you.

I was fortunate to have seen dolphins early morning from my Lani.

If you enjoy beautiful picture taking sunset views on the ocean, consider this rental. Don't let the 4th floor deter you. The complex has an elevator. The kitchen was well equipped and clean. Unfortunately for us, the air conditioner broke down just prior to our arrival and parts and service being what they are in the time of the pandemic, it was unable to be repaired during our stay. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and our first visit to the big island. If visiting the volcanoes in the national park, the drive is long but worth the effort. Along the way, you can visit a black sand beach. If dining in or dining out shopping and restaurants are close to this rental.

We really enjoyed having a full condo rather than a hotel room. We were able to eat in on occasion, do laundry, and best of all, this location is really close to Kona shopping and other activities. We went to two different beaches, both within a 20 minute drive, that had great swimming and snorkeling. Had a great visit to the Big Island.

We enjoyed our week very much, the oceanfront location with the constant sound of the waves can't be beat. The condo was clean, kitchen updated and equipped with everything we needed, and we made good use of the beach towels, mats, etc. With the ocean just steps away, we enjoyed hours on the 4th floor lanai with its great view of the water, surfers, turtles, colorful fish, spinner dolphins, rainbows and spectacular sunsets. Evening dips in the pool added to the relaxing atmosphere. We've stayed in several other units in this building and found this to have been an excellent choice.

This property was clean, well maintained and the owners provided excellent communication from initial booking till check-out. The fresh ocean breezes, sights and sounds of the oceanfront property is extremely rare as it sits right at the waters edge. Sitting on the lanai watching the sunset was an absolute delight!

Host: Bob was awesome. I had a lot of pre-trip communication with him as I added a couple days to our stay. He was very responsive and accommodating. During our stay a fan did not function. I informed him and by the end of the day it had been replaced.
Location: could easily hit the ocean with a ball from the lanai. With that said, the waves may be kinda loud for some. I was initially worried because I am a light sleeper, but by the second night I found the right combo of cracked windows and my brain did its job of acclimating to the sound. We saw sea turtles in the tide pools every morning and once even from the lanai. One day we could see a lot of dolphins out in the water as well as some leaping manta rays. It was short lived but still exciting. It overlooks a popular surf spot so you can watch surfers every day. Short drive (10 minutes) to town and stores/shops/restaurants as well as sand beaches. The sandy area at the complex is not very suitable for swimming as it leads directly in to the tide pools and rocks.
Condo: Updates throughout, the kitchen and bathrooms have updates and a contemporary feel but the condo still retains its island charm. No A/C... if that is important for you this may not be the right place. For us, we were fine with the constant sea breeze that blew through keeping the condo comfortable, and the fans were always available to create more wind. Large bed in the master was comfortable, and our 12 and 15 year old sons were fine using the twin beds in the front room. The complex was quiet and has amenities like pool and BBQs. Grilling next to the waves at sunset in Hawai'i is pretty awesome!
This location was the right choice for us and well worth every nickel.

First, let me say that if you are worried about the Vog or the Laze from the volcano, don't be. This condo is on the coast. We were at the condo from the evening of June 6th to June 14th and didn't have any problems with Vog or Laze. If you love the Big Island of Hawai'i as much as we do, please don't let the media scare you away. We did buy some masks but never used them and we returned them to Amazon when we returned.
The condo is centrally located, so it is easy to get to all points of the island. The grocery store and shops are close. What I liked most about this condo was the waves crashing against the shore and the ability to view surfers, turtles and other activities all from the lanai.
During my stay I had some great interactions with Bob via email, with some suggestions and they were well received. I would definitely put this as an option on my list when I return to the Big Island in the future!

Bob was an excellent host. Since the unit had no guests before our stay, Bob reached out and asked if we wanted an early check-in! Just thought it was very nice to offer that to us. The complex is older, but well maintained. The pool was sparkling and the landscape manicured. The unit is on the forth floor, which gives you a great view from the lanai. The first and second days, we saw whales breaching straight out front! We also saw spinner dolphins and you can see fish swimming around the reef below. If you want something like the Ritz Carlton, this place is not for you. But if you want a clean, comfortable place in a great location to enjoy the Kona Coast from, this could be the place. Enjoy your stay, we did!

We loved watching turtles, surfers, fish and were treated the last day to dolphins!!. Although it was uncharacteristically drizzly and only in the low 70's most of our days, it was still so much nicer than home where there was snow and 20's. Constantly hearing the waves was so relaxing. We left the patio door open all night and heard the constant lull from the master bedroom. Unfortunately the second bedroom is at the front of the condo and our daughters could not hear them but did have other traffic noise. We had a maintenance issue our first full day, Bob responded immediately but could not help until after the Brew fest, which was fine because we were at the Brew fest too!!! The complex is a short drive into Kona. It is on the bus route which comes by about every 1.5 hours. Da Poke Shack is handy and tasty. Everything was clean. Beach towels, sand toys provided. We found everything we needed.

This was a perfect place for a family get away. The condo was clean and well furnished and even had some beach equipment to use as needed. The view from the master bedroom and lanai were spectacular. We saw turtles every day and dolphins several times. The location was perfect! Close enough to Kona to be convenient but just far enough out to be away from the crowd. Lots of parking and everyone in the complex was very nice and friendly. The owner Bob was very informative and available for questions. Mahalo Bob! It was wonderful

Excellent location and very comfortable condo! We loved hearing the ocean all day and night and the condo was plenty roomy for our family of four. Thanks for the book of recommendations also, that was super nice to have and reference. There’s a beach nearby that’s excellent for boogie boarding, and few great snorkel spots within a couple miles as well. We will be back for sure, just loved our vacation here!
