We have stayed at the Islander many times. This unit was very clean and welcoming. Great view, too. Comfortable bed, though the pillows were rather large for our tastes. The management was responsive and really liked the towel exchange, as we stayed 3 weeks. Would definitely stay in this unit again.

Clean, gorgeous views and landscaping. Fun bar. Nice sized room & bathroom. AC, no bugs, WIFI. Only minor issues...very small kitchen area & frig. Not enough electrical outlets to plug in electronics. Had to disconnect and reconnect various appliances. Overall...5 star & we would do it again.

We were greeted by a clean room with a lovely view. Every morning we watched the sunrise from the lanai. Conveniently located next to Coconut Marketplace which has shops and restaurants. Note that you have to walk up to the third floor, but that helps work off the Jojo’s Shave Ice that you must try.

Overall this was a great place to stay especially if you are looking for reasonable place because you will be out on the island more than you will be in the condo. It worked perfectly for us. The coconut market is pricey, but you can walk to it within minutes. There is a little stip mall as well with a couple restaurants, coffee shop, tattoo shop and a kayak adventure tour.
There is an italian restaurant there that has the best pasta. I highly recommend. lava lava next door is a cool atmosphere too. The little souvenier shops at coconut marcket are reasonable and the shaved ice is great as well. Because the AC wasn't working properly, we bought a box fan for 30 bucks at Walmart. Once the AC was fixed, the place stayed fairly comfortable. However, when you are getting yourself fixed up in the bathroom it gets hot, so I used the fan in there. I suggested they keep the fan for future guests to use. The beach chairs, umbrella and little cooler worked perfect the days on the beach and were super nice to have. The chairs have a little cooler pouch attached which was also convenient for sunglasses, small purse/wallet and keys. Hanalai beach South side is a perfect sandy, calm beach. Poi pu was a little rough but snorkling was nice, there is a little island you can snorkle to if you get there when the waves are calmer. Keoki Paradise on the North side was pricey but the atmospher was awesome. Pina colada served in a pinapple, yum yum. I also suggest the Kayak wailia tour with Kyle. This tour is through the jungle and over 6 miles total. 4 miles round trip kayaking and 2 miles round trip hiking to the falls. It's a moderate hike, over rocks, through the jungle, mud, river/stream, but super fun. We had such a great time and want to go back and will definitely recommend to family and friends. ALOHA

We loved this location for the beach, and the resort amenities (hot tub, pool, and pool-side bar). It's also walking distance to many great restaurants and shops, as well as fun things to do. We had a wonderful stay at this unit in particular and would definitely come back!

We found this property to be centrally located and convenient. It was great having the marketplace and restaurants within walking distance. We enjoyed the pool and the bar! The accommodations were clean and comfortable and we will stay again if we head back to Kauai!

This property is on the beach (the unit a few minutes to walk to the beach/pool/bar), central to all locations Kauai, close to a wonderful shopping area full of restaurants, gift shops and groceries. The room itself is VERY basic, nothing fancy. The sliding door to the deck is a very hard to slide to open, but that was really the only down side!

Listed as described. Great views from 3rd floor balcony. Pool and pool bar were a nice treat. Room size was adequate as described and pictured. Do not expect a 5 star hotel room, it is an older condo that is well kept and loaded with plenty of beach accessories. The nearby Coconut Marketplace shops, eateries and market next door made this location a huge plus!! Everything you need. Great central place to stay in order to visit Poipu or Princeville. Minutes from the Fern Grotto and Kapaa town shops.

We were excited to stay here, with the location and pictures showing a clean room. Unfortunately there was black mold found and musky smell. Seems like this room needs a deep cleaning. The location of this hotel will bring people in every time but just a little more effort in cleaning is a must!

We really enjoyed staying at this property. The room was just what we wanted with a nice lanai and kitchenette. It was very close to the beach, the pool the Jacuzzi and a bar that had a happy hour. It was also close to many restaurants and bars including some with good happy hours. We did not even need to get in the car to have a drink or eat on many occasions. We were just able to walk there and walk home. It was also close to a nice beach that had good snorkeling. The location was extremely convenient for sightseeing in our car around the island.

Not happy at all about having to spend another $800 for a different hotel in order to get a peaceful night's sleep in a clean room. Put a damper on wife's birthday big time! Zero Stars if we could!

We had a little difficulty at first because of the room's relationship to the larger facility which is managed by Aston. The front desk staff could not give us clear directions to the room which, it turned out, was really close by. Also, the room is disabled accessible but resulted in quite a bit of water running out of the bath into the larger room the first time we used the shower.

It was great! Before we booked this apartment we didn't expect it to be such a cool place. There is a great market and a lot of restaurants nearby. It was the first time we booked anything through Vrbo and we are surprised that everything went smoothly. The apartment was clean and the beds were comfortable. We would definitely come back again. The only thing I would appreciate next time to be able to use the laundry room in the building.

The unit is nice and it's in a convenient area and has a peek-a-boo view of the ocean. The grounds are also beautiful. The only downside was the local management was unresponsive to a request to fix the broken safe and drop toilet paper off. There were only 2 rolls for a 1 week's stay in a unit that accommodates up to 4 people.

The property grounds were beautiful and well-maintained, very close to the beach. We had a nice view from our outside patio. The condo itself was clean, and had all the appliances we needed--fridge, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, and a sink.The only negative comment would be regarding the safety box which was out of order due to lack of batteries. We called the management twice but no one came to fix it.

We have stayed at The Islander on The Beach many times and always love it. The views are wonderful, it is centrally located on Kauai, and you can hear the waves from the lani. Loved the beach equipment provided to enjoy our trips around the island. Kauai is an amazing place to visit and the islander makes it affordable with water views.

You can find nicer resorts on Kauai, but this rental is great `bang for the buck,` especially when exploring the island all day. The property is mid-way between the north and south coasts, making it convenient to all locations. Plenty of restaurants and shops within either walking or short driving distance. A nearby Safeway sells fresh fish which you can cook yourself on one of the resort`s pool-side natural gas grills. Be sure to have a `white-noise` app on your phone to help drown out rooster crowing early each morning. I highly recommend purchasing the Shaka Guide Kaui app ($30 for four distinct island self-guided tours). It`s well worth the cost for great guidance and information around Kauai. The property comes with 2 beach chairs, beach umbrella, cooler, and snorkel equipment so that you can trek to any of the many beaches on the island. Having a lanai with table and chairs along with an ocean view was really nice. The room`s small refrigerator, microwave, and toaster came in handy. All-in-all, it`s a great place at a great price for a Kauai vacation.
