My husband and I stayed at the condo for my birthday weekend and it was by far the best condo and experience we've had with a vacation rental! The room was beautiful, good size, and tastefully decorated. The bed was extremely comfortable, we slept like babies every night. The shower has great water pressure as well which is important for us. You'll want to spend hours outside on the patio soaking in the beautiful views.
We were surprised at how quiet and peaceful it was despite being around multiples condos. It is a peaceful spot for those wanting to retreat. Nothing, and I mean nothing beats the insane ocean views by the pool and hot tub area, we stayed there all day!! The condo is close to restaurants, target, walmart etc...
Communication was great with guest services, they took care of everything that came up and were quick to respond. You will definitely be in good hands. Super happy with our stay, highly recommend!!

This condo unit was excellent in so many ways. The unit was very clean and had everything and more than we expected. The kitchen was supplied with all the kitchen tools and supplies that you could want; the bathroom was perfect; and the unit had a lot of things for the beach such as towels, snorkels (no flippers but we rented), masks, beach umbrella, etc.
The unit itself is in a quiet complex and it has a beautiful partial ocean view. Access to the many BBQ's was very much appreciated and we used them several times.
I have stayed in several condos throughout the Hawaiian islands and this is one of my favorites!

I want to start by saying that Kona Makai Condominiums is fantastic. The grounds are immaculate, the pool and hot tub are incredible, and above all else.. the view of Hawaii’s sunsets is out of this world.
There are MANY rules for the condominium and reading the rules at first was funny but actually turned out to give a quiet, relaxing and visually appealing vacation for us. Not one negative about the grounds. Location is also less 3-5 min drive to everything!
Now suite 5-103 itself.. it had everything we needed for our stay. The bed and pillows were AMAZING! Sooo soft. Kitchen stocked with dishes, utensils, cookware, coffee makers. ACs in bedroom and living room worked great. Shower has good water pressure. Laundry worked well. The washing machine could use a clean as it left many fuzzies all over our clothes which everything came off in dryer so was not an issue for us.
Our only real issue was the property management company itself.. Kona Vacation Rentals. The first day we arrived, the key to the pool broke in the door. The next day I called 5 times to 2 different numbers and left 2-3 voicemails. We never heard back once. On our 3rd day when I still hadn’t heard back, I went and had a key cut at a locksmith from the broken key. Glad that worked and nothing serious went wrong as I never heard back from them in the 12 nights we stayed there.
Otherwise, we had a great stay and would love to go back to Kona Makai. The suite was great and grounds were incredible!

Adorable condo in a perfect location! Amazing views from the common areas, cute secluded, private patios attached to the condo. The condo has everything you need to make you feel right at home, and is so close to great shopping, restaurants, and Magic Sands Beach Park. I did not want to leave!!

I can hear upstairs neighbors every time they flush their toilets. So many rules making this place a destination ideal for older couples, definitely not with kids. The unit my daughter and I stayed is in the bottom level. Not enough ventilation and bathroom smells “mildewy”, so we left the bathroom light on the whole time. My shoulders get tight when I wash dishes because the sink sits too high. Not enough prep space in the kitchen.

A very nicely updated and clean unit. Check-in was a breeze and communications from the management company were great. We enjoyed our evenings on the lanai in this well appointed unit. The gardens are lovely and pool is well situated to on the property. This property is definitely on our short list for when we return to the Big Island!

Liked it so much we booked it again 👍The pool is warm and beautiful the property is beautiful. The king bed was very comfortable.Very nice place, everything we needed in the kitchen and even pool towels and beach chairs , umbrella, cooler, ect.

A very nicely updated and clean unit. Check-in was a breeze and communications from the management company were great. We enjoyed our evenings on the lanai in this well appointed unit. I love Kona makai. I’ve been here several times and plan to return. The unit is lovely and is well stocked. The kitchen is meant for taller people especially the sink which sits up on the countertop. The bed is VERY comfortable. Mahalo

Over all experience was very good, complex was well maintained, unit was in great shape and perfect for us. We had one issues with the lock during our stay but 30 minutes they got us in and fixed the lock as soon as possible. Overall the complex and unit was great, our biggest win was renting from through the property management company. Due To storms and other issues our fights were cancelled they were quick to respond and during a stressful time they were willing to accommodate and make sure we had a place to stay.

This property and condo is great. The pool,BBQ, and the sitting area by the ocean is fantastic. The condo is clean and well taken care of. It's a 20 minute walk to Kona but it's any easy walk.

Beautiful place, very clean and exactly like the description. Only issue was checking in there was no key in the lock box so had to wait an hour outside for the property manager to bring it. Other than that everything was perfect. Would love to stay here again. Easy access to the ocean and great amenities.
