Resort area is great. Our stay was for a month. Biggest disappointment was the lack of cleanliness , i.e. dirty windows, fans, ledges curtains and no cleaning supplies for the bathroom. Also a number of smaller issues. Broken knobs on closet doors, window screens not fitting properly, was lacking adequate kitchen & bathroom linens, ceiling fan in living room had to be fixed. Main screen door had to be repaired (we were locked in a few times till this was fixed) and doesn't fit the door jam properly. The lamps in the living room need to be replaced or fixed. Vacasa did answer with help quickly -- unfortunately we had to call a number of times for different issues. Also, the advertisement indicated a phone and provided a number in the unit but there wasn't a phone in evidence. The instructions for using the TV's need to be updated. The unit was roomy and the shower in the bathroom was great. Needs some TLC.

The property was exactly as advertised. Very clean overall, except for a few dust fuzzies and popcorn around the couch. Did have many micro bugs/mites running over counters in both kitchen and bathroom. We didn’t like that. Well equipped with kitchen supplies. Lots of towels. Located central to everything. The pool was excellent. We would stay here again without the bugs. Resident gecko was cool. Thanks.

Really wonderful to have the beach chairs, umbrella, and cooler. Those were game changers for us and allowed us to not get sun burned and enjoy our time. We struggled to find the pool door code. Fans in the room were great too. Enjoyed our stay.

The apartment itself is very nice and well furnished, except the dishwasher didn't work and the garbage disposal quit working for no apparent reason on our last day. The biggest issue was the 36 steps it took to get to the third floor unit, advertised as a "corner penthouse". The view in the advertisement is very misleading and there is a comment in the description that the unit is on the first floor, not the third floor.

The Kihei Kai Nani condo is centrally located in South Kihei. It is a short walk to the beach (Kamaole II), and is bright and airy, and well laid out. We found the condo to be very well-equipped and included such items as beach chairs, boogie boards, etc. The bed and pillows were really comfortable and the nighttime breeze through the open windows was wonderful. The complex has a large pool and the water temperature was perfect for afternoon swims after a day of hiking or snorkeling, and late evening dips. We really appreciated Patricia's added touches with flowers in every room and a gift basket upon arrival.

We love this condo and will be back again for the seventh time next year! It may not be fancy but it has everything you will need for your vacation and the location is great for those who want the beach and proximity to shopping and restaurants. We have never used the AC as the trade winds blow nicely through this corner units windows. The lanai has a really good view of Haleakala and a partial view of the ocean which is enough to see if it is a good day to snorkel. We keep the binoculars handy and often see whales from there. Thanks so much Patricia and Jefferson. We look forward to next year!

We stayed 5 nights in the condo, being on the 3rd floor was a bit taxing on my knees hauling up luggage and groceries so be aware of extra effort needed.
Condo itself was very comfortable and roomy with many beach supplies and kitchen fully stocked.
Condo bedroom does not have the AC it is in the living room instead
Bedroom faces the parking lot.
Even with the noise rules it was noisy in the am and pm.
Light blocking curtains would have helped the afternoon naps in the bedroom as light shone right in.
View from the balcony is to another condo and marginal sea view.
AC shut down the power when running the microwave at the same time.
We alerted the owner when we were leaving.
Owner was very nice in extending check out time since we were on a whale watch returning later than the expected checkout time.
Many condo units for rent in this complex.
Overall a very good experience staying here.
Pool across the way and laundry facilities, many restaurants and several snorkeling spots within walking distance.

Thanks to Patricia and Jefferson for a most enjoyable stay. Lots of extras enhanced our stay- from the supplies in the frig and cupboard, the welcome basket, beach chairs and umbrella and boogie board. The bed is very comfortable. Both rooms required a fan on at night but we did not need the air on. The whole complex was surprisingly quiet at night. All facilities were present for cooking and a large frig. Many thanks. Maholo!

Across the street from Kamaole Beach II. Very convenient access to shops and restaurants. My wife and I usually stay at higher end condos but decided to try this unit because of the price and good reviews. We had a great time. It's a single bedroom condo with a pull-out couch. It can handle four people but for comfort (who likes to sleep on a pull-out couch?) two people is best. The kitchen is somewhat dated as are the appliances but they all worked. Wifi was good. We were here for the sun and beach and so long as we could sleep, eat and clean up nothing else was important. Patricia was a super host and responded quickly to any questions or minor problems.

As part of our 7-weeks RTW-trip we chose to stop over on Maui to recover from five big cities in Asia. After three weeks in various hotel rooms having a condo was most welcome - having the 'Little Grass Shack' was a blessing; it has
- lots of space,
- all equipment you need to enjoy the beach across the street,
- parking,
- restaurants / bars within easy walking distance,
- owners who care about offering a well furnished place to stay, and,
It was easy to book!

We had a wonderful time at the 'Little Grass Shack'. The condo has everything you could ask for, including beach amenities and it's very well appointed. It is centrally located to the beach and top quality restaurants. It is on the top floor with a balcony that is quite and relaxing. We stayed at the Little Grass Shack in Sept 2015. This top floor unit is perfect! It’s quiet and so close to the beach . It has everything one would need in a condo for a great vacation. The location is really ideal. Parking was never an issue. Having the beach chairs available was great.

This was our third stay in the "Little Grass Shack" and we can't say enough about how much we love being here! Whenever we come to Maui, this is the only place we'll stay. It's bright, airy living space is very "Aloha", the king size bed is super comfy, and the bathroom has been updated with a lovely walk in shower.
The condo has everything we need, the kitchen is fully stocked, and all the beach goodies such as chairs, umbrella, boogie boards,coolers, even beach towels are here. Being a corner unit on the 3rd (top) floor makes it so quiet and private, a lovely breeze blowing through is wonderful...no air conditioning needed!! The lanai is wonderful any time of the day for relaxing. Our favourite time of day is the early morning, having our coffee, listening to the birds and being able to see the ocean and the mists on Haleakala, and after a day on the beach we can come "home" for happy hour with the trade winds blowing through.
The condo is close to all our favourite things, the best beaches, restaurants, and shopping too! It's a great central location for sightseeing too, whether you take the local bus or have a car. We love the beach, just a 2 minute walk away, its never crowded, beautiful white sand and warm blue waters, and the snorkelling is fantastic, we love to see the sea turtles!!
Patricia and Jefferson are very welcoming, and are really helpful with any information about the area, as they live there. We highly recommend the Luau in Wailea (talk to Patricia) it is a great evening of entertainment! Mahalo to both of you, we can't wait until we return!!

Clean pool , lounge area and excellent laundry facilities.
All you need to bring is your clothes (and groceries if you are eating in). Beach bag/ towels, chairs all there.
From initial email contact, thru booking, unexpected welcome gift basket and the goodbye phone call from owner on day of departure you feel they are your hosts and interested in making your holiday the best.

For our first trip to Maui we decided to book the “little grass shack” as all the reviews seemed to be positive and it completely lived up to our expectations! Patricia was an absolute pleasure to deal with and made the booking process easy and provided us with a lot of great info on the area. The unit was very clean, well maintained and had everything you could possibly need (including wifi that had a great connection!). The beach is right across the street and there are lots of great shops and restaurants within walking distance. We enjoyed having our breakfast out on the lanai every morning listening to the birds and looking out on the ocean. We visited a few beaches on the island during our 1 week stay, but found the beach right across the street was our favorite. We had the most relaxing vacation we have had in a long time, thank you again so much Patricia and Jefferson. We hope to come back one day very soon!

We stayed in the "little grass shack" for the first time 2 years ago, absolutely loved it and have been counting the days until we could return!! We've just spent 2 wonderful weeks there and it was just as perfect as the first time. We love listening to the birds singing every morning, while having our coffee on the lanai, enjoying the views of the ocean and the morning mists on Haleakala.
The condo is clean, comfortable, quiet and private, and stocked with everything you need. We like to eat in for the most part, and the kitchen is well equipped and the barbeque is close by. The pool and laundry facilities are also close and convenient. And best of all it's a 2 min walk to the nicest beaches where you can set up your beach chairs and umbrella, enjoy the sun, sand and sea! and RELAX!! The snorkeling is great, we saw sea turtles almost every day....they're awsome! It's the ultimate way to relax and recharge!!!
It's close to the beach, shopping, restaurants, and an easy walk or drive to many of the most popular tourist activities and destinations.
Patricia is a very welcoming host, making sure you're comfortable and have everything your need and she's a great source of information if you have any questions. We also highly recommend the luau at the Grand Wailea, it's a must see!!
When we return to Maui, the "Little Grass Shack" will definitely be our home away from home!

The location is great for snorkeling and diving. We just had to walk across the street to snorkel, we saw 3 sea turtles feeding almost every day. It was also about 5 minutes to the harbor to catch various dive boats. The hide-a-bed is very comfortable and I love the shower! The owners are close by and made us feel welcome with a welcome basket on the table when we arrived. There were coolers, beach chairs, towels, etc available, everything you need to enjoy the beach. There are good restaurants within walking distance (ones the locals even recommend).This was a very nice condo at a great price and location.

This was my daughters first trip to the islands. We arrived and were so thrilled with the
" little Grass Shack" . It was a perfect size for us, the kitchen was fully equipped, the bed was comfortable, it's was clean and there is a lovely pool for the moments that my girls didn't want to go the beaches that were within walking distance. My wife and I selected this location after reading the great reviews and suffice it to say, no one was being deceitful. The condo is clean, comfortable and ideally located. The pool and laundry facilities are right across the parking lot; the beach and restaurants are right at the entrance of the complex. All-in-all a great location. A few folks may have difficulty with the third floor location, but we managed fine for being in our late fifties. The Stillwells are wonderful landlords, they got us a great discount at a wonderful luau. We weren't disappointed and neither will you. ps, there is wifi in the condo.

This is where you can truly relax and "live Aloha". Waking up to the birds and enjoying coffee on the lanai looking at palm trees, blue sky and the ocean is what keeps bringing us back to the "little grass shack". The location is central in Kihea which works well for people who want to experience the variety of wonderful beaches and snorkelling South Maui has to offer. The condo complex is well managed and safe with security on site and there is a friendly community feel to it. The pool is great for children and adults and nice to visit in the afternoon if the trade winds are too strong at the beach. This unit is very comfortable and has an open feel to it by having a partial ocean view as well as great views of Haleakala. It does not take long to feel relaxed and at home here and that is enhanced by Patricia's hospitality and desire to make sure her guests are comfortable and have what they need to "live Aloha" while visiting Maui. We stayed for 2 weeks and our holiday was even more than we could have imagined! The "Little Grass Shack" is the perfect place and everything that's said in the description is true. We loved it from the moment we arrived. The condo is very private, being on the 3rd floor corner, yet is close to the pool and laundry area and only a 2 minute walk to the most beautiful beach! The grounds are immaculate, with many lush plants, flowers and trees, and the pool area is spotless.
The condo is sparkling clean, stocked with everything you could ever need, has wonderful views of the ocean, and the breezes flowing through the condo were so nice we didn't use the AC at all.
It has a very warm feeling about it, and was definitely our home away from home.
To top it all off, Patricia and Jefferson are wonderful hosts that are friendly, welcoming, and accessable because they live nearby. They were so helpful with any questions we had right from the first e-mail to our arrival and during our time there.
It was very important to us to stay somewhere quiet, and one of our favourite things was waking up to the birds singing, and having our morning coffee on the lanai. The beach is absolutely fantastic for swimming, snorkeling, and body surfing or boogie boarding. We snorkeled in the morning almost every day, and there are beautiful fish and coral, but one of the highlights was seeing and swimming near the big sea turtles...they are awsome!!
We had a car for one week, and there are lots of things to see and do. We had a great time doing a zipline adventure, shopping and sightseeing in Lahaina, and went to a luau in Wailea. What we enjoyed most though, was the beach, the sun and sand, and the laid back, relaxing lifestyle of Kihei. Everything is within walking distance....lots of great places to eat, and little shops to look around in, and the convenience of having everthing right there.
We've never felt so relaxed and happy! There's something really magical about Maui and we are already planning to come back!!!
We've been telling everyone about our fabulous vacation and how perfect the condo was.

Our trip to Maui was everything we hoped it would be and the location of the "little grass shack" had a lot to do with it. It was close to a lovely beach that was perfect for swimming, relaxing and watching the sun set. It was walking distance to restaurants and shops. The condo had everything we needed for a fun day at the beach and the fully stocked kitchen made meal preparation a breeze. The condo complex was well maintained, the staff was friendly, and the pool and laundry facilities were located nearby. After visiting bustling Lahaina and no-parking-Ka'anapali we realized the pace in Kihei was just right. We're looking forward to another trip to Maui and we will definitely be staying at the "little grass shack."

We spent 9 nights in the "Little Grass Shack" and had a wonderful time. We had everything we could need right in the condo. There were also beach chairs, umbrella, coolers/ice packs etc. The most amazing beach is right across the street. We would just walk over and snorkel in the morning and later go over and watch the beautiful sunsets. There were many restaurants and shops within walking distance which was great. the Kihei Kai Nani complex is constantly being cleaned and the landscape taken care of. Patricia and Jefferson were so very helpful and kind, we couldn't have asked for better hosts. Thanks so much for allowing us to stay in your "Shack"!

We stayed here for a week in March. Being in the corner suite was great as we had alot of light as well the breeze coming through all the windows which kept the place comfortable. It was a joy waking up with the birds in the morning and smelling the beautiful flowers that were in the gardens. We had abit of view and could see the ocean as well as being across from the swimming pool. The pool was nice to come back to after a day at the beach and we used it everyday. The beach equipment that was supplied twas great and convenient to take to the beach. The suite had everything we needed and everything was all in great condition. We highly recommend this suite for anyone who is wanting to have a fantastic time in Mauii. We will be back there next year!

We really appreciated the welcome basket along with milk and juice in the fridge as we arrived Christmas Eve. Patricia knew that getting at least these basics would be challenging the next (Christmas) morning. Santa filled our stockings and we ate Christmas dinner on the lanai over-looking the palm trees with the ocean in the background.
We looked at a number of other condos online and when we were there and quickly realized that “The Little Grass Shack” was superior to others in so many ways. The location was high enough for privacy and great views but low enough for easy access. It was right across from the pool but far enough away so as not to hear it; same thing went for its distance from the road access to the beach.
We couldn’t have packed all of the beach things like chairs, noodles, boogie boards and coolers necessary for a great trip but they were in great condition waiting for us in the condo. The fully stocked kitchen made at home meals a snap. For overall convenience, price, cleanliness and location I’d highly recommend The Little Grass Shack to a couple or a young family like ours.
We've long felt that a vacation experience is what you make of it - not where you stay. However, after a long day of adventures having a clean, comfortable anc convenient place to recharge gets you ready for your next adventure. This was definitely the right fit for exactly that!!

My husband and I stayed at "The Little Grass Shack" for 7 days in July, and had the most wonderful vacation there. The condo was extremely clean and comfortable, and had all of the amenities we needed. The welcome basket and phone call from Patricia made us feel at home from the minute we walked in. The condo was stocked with everything.... boogie boards, snorkeling gear, towels, beach chairs, coolers, kitchen supplies, etc. We were able to save alot of money (and inconvenience) by not having to buy all of these things after we got there. The location was perfect-- next to the beach, close to lots of restaurants/shops, and a good central starting point to explore the rest of the island. We would recommend this property for anyone else travelling to Maui. We had such a wonderful experience there and are already planning our trip back!

We spent 2 great weeks in Maui with this condo as our home away from home for our family of 4 which includes 2 young children. Everything was as presented and more. The owners were pleasant, accommodating and responsive. We really appreciated the cleanliness and complete accessories in the condo…from a fully stocked kitchen to lots of beach equipment. The complex was perfectly located, quiet and well run. We felt very comfortable, safe and enjoyed our stay immensely! We would easily recommend this to anyone wishing a relaxed stay in Maui.

My wife and I stayed at "The Little Grass Shack" in Kihei for 9 nights. We are extremely happy with the experience that this condo provided us for our vacation on the island of Maui. This condo had everything that we needed and more. The views from the condo, particularly the lanai, are absolutely spectacular. It is a great place to listen to the birds, drink that early morning coffee, and look out into the ocean. The condo itself had everything that we needed. We made great use of the bodyboards, snorkeling gear, beach chairs, and beach towels. We just left everything in our car and would then walk directly across the street to Kamaole II beach for the day. It is about a 2 minute walk from the steps of the condo to the beach. We made many meals in the condo and there was never a time when we were looking for something. There is also a very nice pool near the condo. The pool was large, always very clean, and never busy. The laundry services available were also close and very accessible. This condo is also in a perfect location as it is located in the great town of Kihei. You are within walking distance to many beaches, shops, and restaurants. The best part of our experience with this condo were the owners. The owners of this condo live nearby and are there to make sure that your stay in Maui is great! I would definitely recommend "The Little Grass Shack" to anyone wanting to visit the island of Maui!

We have stayed at three other condos in Maui and prefer this one at Kihei Kai Nani (KKN)!
This was our third time at this condo at KKN in May and each time we enjoy it more! Everything is up to date and very comfortable. In the morning we sat on the patio and had coffee and listened to the birds and the sound of the waves and looked out at the ocean. There is such a peacefulness about the condo itself. The location allows easy walks to the beach and several very good restaurants. You can drive a short way to Wailea for some fine dining experiences.
No need for the air-conditioner-- We had the windows opened when we were there and we loved when the trade winds came in the late afternoon while we were enjoying a dvd or a good book. In addition to the ALOHA ambience, the condo is equipped with beach chairs, pool accessories, snorkel gear, you name it.
The property is beautiful with the yellow hibiscus, fuschia bougainvillea and plumeria trees- well maintained.They have an organic garden area with several herbs for your use. Barbeque areas , pool area and laundry rooms were also very clean.
The beach across the street has great snorkeling areas.( have to go in the early AM) There are kiosks down the street that offer all different kinds of things to do and you can bargain with them on the price.
We really like Cafe O Lei, Maui Tacos, Maui Thai, Stella Blues,Tommy Bahamas, Cheeseburgers in Paradise, Spago at the 4 Seasons, Antonios, Capische?, Hula Grille
(Kaanapali) Pioneer Inn (La Haina). The magic show in Lahaina (Warren and Annabelle) is a must see. Also the Luau at the Grand Wailea is excellent.
The owners as well as the office personnel at Kihei Kai Nani are so helpful and accommodating. We will be back again and again- the good Lord willing. We have recommended the condo to several friends.
