Our family of five had a great time staying at Makani Sands! We love being right on the water, love the ocean front bbq’s and the rental we had was so comfortable and had everything we needed to enjoy our week’s stay there. Love the location as well, it is within walking distance to shops, coffee and dining and is just a short drive away from Kaanapali!

The common hallways were not vacuumed daily of sand. Otherwise, the property is very well kept. Staff very friendly. Great location. Suites adequate for our needs. Beautiful views of Lanai & Molokai. The best is the view from our lanai of the ocean and turtles. Snorkeling is great for kids and adults alike. I found it very relaxing mesmerizing watch the ocean.

It is nice place to live for family or groups, beach front. Everything is in condo, good for families with small kids. Snorking gear, board games, AC, Beach towels, beach chairs are part of booking.

The condo is cramped for 5 people. The couch is older and not that comfortable. The 2 swivel chairs are in need of replacement. It was difficult for our family of 5 to sit and watch TV together. The picture of the beach was taken at the low tide which lasts for about an hour, otherwise the water is hitting the sea wall and not real safe to get in the water. The master shower is very small and cramped. The kitchen is well stocked and even had a number of spices. The office personnel are very nice but the office is closed on the weekends which is difficult if you need supplies or assistance. The 2nd bedroom has twin beds which are small, my 17 yr old boys were hanging off the edge. The master bedroom could use nightstands. We enjoyed our stay in Maui but we would stay in a different condo next time especially with the cost per night being pretty expensive.

This is a great location for beach goers. We used the beach, plus used the location as a base camp for thebroad to Hana and the national park. The condo was clean amd as advertised. This place has epic sunsets. The beds were comfortable as well as the furniture. I highly recommend this condo.

Everything was amazing. Couldn’t ask for a better location. Close to grocery store and restaurants. There was enough beach to get into the ocean. Eels and turtle sightings daily. The unit was stocked with beach towels flippers and beach items (chair umbrella cooler) the kitchen was also well stocked! There was even a blender. The fridge was empty and clean. I would definitely stay here again. It would also be great for young kids.

Beautiful, cozy two bedroom condo right on the beach. All the comforts of home to enjoy your stay. The property has posted quiet hours which quests observed. Very enjoyable space away from the resort traffic but very close to anything you would want or need while vacationing.

Overall great~ And all of us were happy ~ the only, only reason for less than 5 , is there was still construction going on and one of the days there was the pounding of Jack hammers for a while ~ and the access to the water was blocked off , which may have been a decision breaker had I known, but the condo itself, was great , didn’t need anything more ~ very clean, very accommodating..... I think it was the gardner/maintenance guy, he was the one very helpful on site ~

My wife and I wanted to celebrate our 15 yr anniversary back in Maui, where we originally had our honeymoon. We brought our kids with us and wanted a location where you have clear view of the ocean from your room. We found the Makani Sands and it was great. The room we stayed was clean, full kitchen, easy access to the grill, a quick walk right outside to the ocean. It was perfect. One thing that really sucked was the parking. I guess they were doing some construction and the parking was very limited. As I mentioned, the room we had, ‘RM 110, was the perfect spot. It had everything we needed as well, from kitchen supplies, clean fridge, oven, utensils, literally everything. The walk right outside was a few steps to the edge of the sea. The first two days we were there we got to see a few sea turtles. People were very kind and courteous.The ONLY thing that ruined our stay was that our rental car was keyed from side to side. We had no place to park so we parked in the managers parking , which I notified him, and he replied it was ok, but come to find the next morning our rental car had huge scratches from the drivers side panel, to the back, to the passenger side panel. I don’t know who or why they would do this as we had been friendly with everyone. It really bothered me as I thought we were in a nice safe place, but brought out some uncertainty. I did not let it get to me and we went on about our trip. It’s just sketchy that someone would do that to our car in the parking lot.I also wanted to add that we found a cockroach by the bed on our last day there. Thankfully it was on our last day or none of us would have slept well knowing there are roaches.Otherwise, this place was amazing to stay at!

We had a great stay and recommend this property. Our first impression was the property and condo were dated, we got quickly past this. The condo is in a great area near beaches and restaurants. The back door opens to the ocean and we saw turtles every day. Everything, except for the washer worked. The local staff was very friendly and helpful.

Best spot on the island! Tammy at the front desk is amazing to work with and shares information on best places to go! If you enjoy snorkeling and an prestige view of the ocean this is the place! The land scaping is amazing too! I have been staying here since 2000 and have no desire to stay anywhere else.

We had such a fantastic experience May 17-24 meeting some of the owners and being included in the conch ritual. We felt welcomed immediately. One thought, would you consider having snorkel gear at site? Would be nice not to deal with the hard sell at Boss Frog's.

We stayed in 110 and loved it! It is beautifully remodeled. Perfect for a family of 4. Loved walking out back slider and having beach right there. The maintenance man, Burt, was so friendly and such a hard worker. The grounds are kept up so nicely. Will be going back!

We were thoroughly impressed with our stay at Makani Sands. The unit was great, spacious and had everything we needed. I would defiantly stay back in unit 110, you open the front doors and have immediate access to a little beach front. My children aged, 8, 10 and 12 loved swimming in the water and watching the turtles swim by. The sunsets were amazing and we loved the quiter surroundings. Each morning we walked up to the Farmers Market and bought some delicious breakfast options. The pitaya bowls were to die for and I am going to miss these once I'm back in Australia. We also cooked a few BBQ's for dinner and sat out watching the ocean. Thank you Makani Sands for a wonderful stay. We will be back!!!

Great location, makes for potentially beautiful sunsets (we had clouds most nights). Some stores and restaurants are walkable but it’s good to have a car. The pool was small and on the road side of the building but fine for our needs.

Unit 110 is absolutely perfect. The newly updated space has an exceptionally well equipped kitchen, incredibly comfortable beds and a wonderful view. I think this is the best unit in the entire building! Separately, however, the beach access is a disaster, terribly dangerous and absolutely ill advised. We had to travel elsewhere to access the ocean. The seawall degradation continues to challenge the lovely owners at Makani Sands, and, in addition to the north beach access being condoned off, the two BBQ units closest to us were closed because of undercutting by the sea.

Can't go wrong renting this well stocked condo with beautiful views, easy grill access, and attentive on site staff. The view of Molokai and the sunsets are incredible. If the ocean breeze isn't enough, there are ceiling fans, standing fans, and a/c units to tinker with your comfort level. We saw whales and sea turtles every day from the lanai in Dec/Jan. Only improvement we could think of is updating the king mattress- we were sinking in and could feel the springs as we are bigger people.😉
