This rental was beautiful. We did have a rough start, I like other reviewers, was not able to use the access codes to get into the gate as the email had gone to my junk folder and once I found it, had an incorrect gate code. I attempted to contact the owner multiple times, but was not able to get a response until much later in the evening. Luckily, I was able to find an old email that went to my junk folder with a correct code and gain access, otherwise I don't think we would have been able to get into the condo that evening. I was also unaware that we would be responsible for an additional $25.00 charge per day at check in. I did not see this listed anywhere on the listing. I reached out to the owner and received no response. The rental itself is amazing. Beautiful views, everything you could possibly need for your trip, including full shampoo, conditioner and body washes, tons of beach gear, coolers, fully stocked kitchen including zip lock bags, condiments, all the little comforts of home. There are ten foot ceilings throughout and it makes everything feel huge. The beds were the most comfortable of any rental we've been in. Full size washer and dryer. We were in Hawaii for three weeks throughout the islands and this was by far our favorite rental. There is a nice pool as well and you are right by the clubhouse. Outside of difficulty contacting the owner (which could have been a real disaster) and the unannounced additional costs this is an amazing rental.

Hali Kai #12 is located on the signature 6th hole of the Beach course which is a beautiful hole. The sunsets here every night were absolutely breathtaking and you have a panoramic view of them from the lani. The condo itself is exceptionally well equipped and you will lack for nothing. It is very nicely appointed with furniture and anything and everything you could possibly need for your time at the beach. For your time at the beach take a very short drive up the coast to Hapuna Beach, but it is best to get there in the mornings as it often gets crowded by early afternoon. For shopping we liked the Queens Shops best. The restaurant by the pool is very good. Great food and mixed drinks but the drinks cost almost the same as the meals. We will without question be coming back to Hali Kai and this unit. Thanks so much Peggy!

We would highly recommend this property. Awesome location, private community, nice little restaurant, bar and pool area. Views from our 2nd floor deck of the golf course and ocean were outstanding. We will be back!

Our vacation was perfect! Hali’i Kai 12A is a luxury condo with stunning views and top notch amenities. Everything from the quality of the sheets, to the abundantly stocked kitchen to the to overflowing toy closet are beyond expectation. Peggy has thought of everything and has spared no expense to provide her guests with a beautiful vacation experience. She was easy to reach, friendly, and exceptionally helpful in meeting our every need. We are already planning our next visit! Thank you Peggy!!

The property is beautiful. We had everything we needed. My only complaint is the poor communication from the owner. We could not find the beach chairs. I texted the owner and she never responded. I also had this problem before we left. I had a few questions for her and she never emailed me back. Aside from that the condo is absolutely gorgeous and would highly recommend.

This condo is absolutely wonderful. Perfect location close to the pool, lovely lanai with great views, clean, comfortable, and very well stocked. I would give it a 5 star review except the communication with the host was so challenging. She would not communicate via the VRBO messaging (never answered any of my messages) and insisted she emailed me but never did (looked in spam and junk folders - no emails ever received). We got our check-in info AFTER the check-in time with the help of the VRBO helpline. I was panicked that we had been scammed and would not have a place to stay. At the Hali’i Kai community check-in for parking pass and payment of daily resort fee we were told our experience had sadly become common for that unit. So, what I would say is if you don’t need or expect assistance from the host, this is a great place to stay. Personally I will be looking for other options when returning to the Big Island.

Overall, we really enjoyed our family vacation in this condo rental. Here's what we liked about it:
• The condo was exceptionally well furnished. It was probably the best equipped VRBO we have ever rented. Peggy thought about everything that you would need and provided them for you. It felt like a home you would live in. The beds were so comfortable.
• The location was amazing. You are right in the middle of the village with access to shops, restaurants, resort amenities, etc. The pool was fantastic.
• The views from the balcony in the mornings and in the evenings were amazing.
• We really can't complain about anything. All the five star reviews on this condo are well deserved.
The only glitch we had was that we didn't get our passcodes or information to access the unit until an hour before we arrived. We rented a lot of VRBO's and usually this information is sent 24-48 hours ahead of time. I did talk to Peggy and we resolved the issue quickly as I guess there might have been technical issues on her end. Outside of that, it was definitely a family vacation to remember.

We enjoyed the last leg of our Big Island family vacation here. Added plus was access to the nearby pools at the Hilton. Fun for the kids to splash around and go on the waterslide. Condo was clean and well equipped with anything you could need!

Peggy's 12A was a fabulous property with beautiful views. It is very well furnished, and everything you could ever want or need is provided. We loved it so much we booked already for next year. Enjoyed spending Christmas at the condo with my family and adult children. Great location, right next to the Ocean Club, which has a beautiful and quiet pool, bar, restaurant, outdoors workout facilities. Terrific sunsets and ocean views from the balcony. Easy oceanside walk to the main Hilton Waikaloa resort restaurants and pools (pass provided by owners). Highly recommended!

Pro's: Unit was close to the pool/bar/restaurant. Beautiful ocean view. Nice kitchen with everything needed for cooking. Loved having the barbeque. Safe, lovely neighborhood. Good beaches were 15 minutes away. Enjoyed playing tennis. Perfect for golfers.
Con's: Pool is more for socializing than swimming. No beach within walking distance except a lagoon. (clearly we are water people). It would be nice if they could add pickle ball equipment as there was a court set up on the basketball court while we were there.
All in all we had a wonderful time and would stay here again as the Pro's outweighed the Con's by far!

This was our second trip to the Big Island and first time staying at this resort condo property. Let me just say a week was not enough - truly paradise! Peggy’s condo is beautiful and worked well for two couples traveling. The check-in process was smooth and Peggy was also accessible for questions in advance of our trip given the ever changing travel restrictions. It was worth the trip just to have coffee on the amazing lanai every morning. It was handy having an amazing pool and resort bar/restaurant at our fingertips, though the location is also highly accessible to all area attractions. We already can’t wait to go back. Absolutely loved the condo. Location was perfect - a short walk to either the resort pool or to the beach. Convenient to a number of restaurants, grocery stores, and of course, Hawaiian shave ice. The unit was extremely well furnished, with super comfortable beds. As an added plus, it had everything that was needed for a vacation including beach and snorkeling gear, towels, chairs, tennis racquets and more. Peggy was a great host - extremely responsive and made us feel right at home.

This place is a beautiful spacious unit that has all the amenities that one would need for a great vacation. The view is exceptional and we spent almost as much time on the balcony enjoying the view and sunsets as we did inside. The pool is a short walk away and the staff were friendly and very helpful. We would recommend the Island Breeze luau at the Marriot King Kamahama hotel in Kona and the volcano and coffee tour by Hawaiian Outfitters. We had a great family vacation and would stay here again if we are ever back on the Big Island.

This place is fantastic. There are 5 of us and the condo still felt spacious. Gorgeous balcony with sea views and a large BBQ. Within a very short walk to the pool. It is the most well equiped condo we have ever stayed in and the cooking facilities are excellent. We had no problems during our stay. We had a lovely week here and would happily stay here again if we are ever back on the big island.

Very large beautiful accommodation. Overlooking ocean, golf course sunsets. This resort is the very best the big island has to offer for relaxation or busy family time. Tennis, swimming, hiking, or shopping a short walk away. We had a wonderful time exploring the islands beaches, markets and nature trails. Local restaurants and great food close by. Lovely modern furnishings and comfortable beds. Very well organized. Would definitely recommend this resort .... But skip the Luau at the Hilton next door boring

What a great pleasure it was to be able to vacation in Halii Kai 12A. We would agree with the previous review in that this unit rates a “10”! This is truly “the” very best appointed condo we have stayed in during many years of vacationing and we constantly found ourselves saying the Peggy and Doug have thought of everything! We had the experience of being in the condo as hurricane Iselle approached and made landfall on the Big Island (which had absolutely no impact in Waikoloa). However, the pending hurricane afforded us the opportunity to meet Doug and their son, who stopped by the condo in person to offer their assistance in moving patio furniture inside in advance of the storm. I can’t say enough about what nice people they are!
Peggy’s responsiveness is truly amazing. As we were booking the unit, leading up to and throughout our stay, she was constantly available to answer any and all questions. The instructions that Peggy provided in advance of our visit helped make the process of check in very smooth and easy. Halii Kai is a gated community and, after a long series of flights, the last thing that you would want to encounter is a hassle in getting into the community and the unit. Prior to our visit Peggy provided a temporary access code to enter Halii Kai. Then, upon check-in we were provided electronic key cards for access to the community and the clubhouse/pool area throughout our stay. Likewise, in advance of our visit, Peggy provided an access code for the unit (which saved the hassle of carrying around a set of keys). The whole process was smooth and very well explained.
The location is perfect (great views of the ocean and sunsets) and very near the pool. This is a second floor unit and is very quiet (with no unit above). While the minimal number of steps leading up to the condo could be an issue for some, we think that the views from the unit are well worth it. (If a ground floor unit is preferred, we know that Peggy and Doug also offer a ground floor unit at Halii Kai.) There seems to have been no item overlooked in stocking the unit (plenty of coffee, and a very well equipped kitchen with things that other condos don’t include – like condiments, salt, pepper, spices, flour, sugar, etc. and storage containers, saran and foil wrap). We used the cooler and freezer packs in the unit to pack food for trips to the opposite side of the island and up to Mauna Kea.
We will indeed be repeat customers and can't wait to return!

This condo exceeded my expectations in a vacation rental. Everything you could possibly need and more is included. We spend the month of February at this condo and it was very comfortable for an extended stay. The location is great for relaxing at the ocean front pool or as a starting point for sight seeing throuhout the island. The best beaches are just a short drive up the coast. Peggy was great to work with. She is readily available to answer questions both before the trip and after arrival. I will definietely return or rent one of the other condos offered by Peggy.

A very upmarket condo - very stylishly decorated with many thoughtful features including snorkeling gear, beach and picnic gear as well as a totally outfitted kitchen (espresso machine etc). The condo has a lovely pool and exercise room and is close to superb swimming beaches as some really spectacular hiking on the bigisland. The sunset view from the lani is a spectacular. The listing was accurate and the owner was extremely helpful with any questions that we had. We would recommend this property as well as stay again.

We had the good fortune of staying in this condo for a week. It was perfect. The condo was well furnished and stocked with absolutely everything we neeeded (cooking supplies, snorkels, boogie boards, beach chairs, umbrellas, etc.). We couldn't have asked for more. The beach club is a 3 minute walk from the condo and has great swimming -- especially for kids (max depth of 4 feet). The resort area was quiet and well maintained. We'll certainly return. Highly recommended!

This was the most well-equipped, nicest vacation condo we've stayed in. Everything bright, shiny & clean. All the gear we needed - new snorkeling stuff, boogie boards, sand toys for the kids, tennis stuff. Kitchen well equipped with everything we needed to make Thanksgiving dinner even. Comfortable beds, fresh linens. Excellent location near pool, beach, and other activities. We had a blast!

Aloha ~ If you are looking for that perfect getaway in "Paradise" look no further :) Seriously !!!! 30 plus years of Island experience that includes ownership of a resort condo ~ we have found exactly what we were looking for and will be staying in this particular resort forever. Imagine your wish list and having everything on it plus more~ then you will have an idea of the experience that awaits you. The resort & amenities are breathtaking~ the premier location of the condo along with the Ocean/Sunset Views will last a life time ~ not to mention you are steps away from the pool , restaurant & workout facility ; with the stunning back drop of the Ocean ~ The owners have thought of everything including the latest technology to allow you to conduct your business from the comfort of your lanai ~ the owners are just a phone call away in the event you should have any questions concerning their units ~ did I mention that the condo is pristine & furnished worthy of the most elegant hotels; which adds to the overall experience in my opinion. It has taken 30 years to find this jewel but we are" raving fans" for sure ~ We are in the people business having sold real estate for almost 30 years so the attention to detail is everything. Enjoy
