Having stayed in this type of unit at the Ilikai before, we knew what to expect. Its spacious and secure.
THE GOOD: The unit overall was clean and exceptionally well- appointed. The location is convenient to heading into Waikiki and heading out to other parts of the island. A MAJOR PLUS IS THE ON-SITE PARKING SPACE IN THE GARAGE, INCLUDED WITH THE STAY! The check-in was seamless, with the manager answering our call and gaining us access right away.
THE BAD: The remodel stopped at the shower door and stall, which had quite a bit of mold and grout damage that could have easily been cleaned, A plumbing issue on the second day could not be repaired until the next day. They offered us a 15% discount for our trouble and we, of course, accepted. Our major dissatisfaction and disappointment is that we still have not received the refund, and multiple polite texts regarding it have been ignored! It appears they do not intend to honor their promise. Please note the condo is on the street side, and there is non-stop traffic day and night. We had to accept this location to get the Ilikai on short notice due to a family emergency. We did not know the noise would make use of the lanai uncomfortable most of the time. I would rate this much higher, with the caveats noted, had they not failed to honor their promised refund or even respond to our questions about it. This spoiled our overall impression of them and the experience.

The check in process was very easy. We called Paul when we landed and he met us upon arrival to the property and directed us to the included parking spot. Paul took us up to our room and showed us around our room and the property so we could see where everything was. The patio had a great view of downtown and the mountains. The street noise was a bit loud but the slider doors did a good job of keeping the noise out of the room. I would recommend more towel hooks to hang beach and bath towels since there is no laundry service and we were there for 8 days. I would recommend something to hold the curtain back that is over the air conditioning unit When the air is running the curtain blows in front of it so we set a bottle there to hold it back and it helped. Overall the property was clean. The floor was a bit dirty and could have been mopped a little better. The vent in the shower was dirty and needs cleaned. The toilet seat wasn’t very comfortable to sit on and it was at a very weird angle. The shower door and floor could be updated, but overall was clean. We were happy with the property and would stay again. The included parking spot was awesome! Parking is hard to find so this was nice to have so we didn’t have to worry about parking!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for the weekend and it was perfect for what we needed. Like prior reviews I do wish that there was a full body mirror. But I did enjoy having no key and just having the code on the door. Paul was very nice to talk to but I did ask about late check out (noted that I did text the day of when asked to notify them the day before) but I did not get a message back, I also called as well. I feel like yes I did call/text later than usual but a reply back would have been nice just to confirm. Overall, It was a great experience and I would recommend.

He even promptly provided us with replacement beach chairs when we discovered that one of ours was broken. Checking in & out were super easy. The one recommendation I do have would be to add a full length mirror into the unit. It would be nice to have, but it does not detract from how great this property is. We also loved having the included parking space and the Wi-Fi, which worked perfectly. I also liked all of the info that was included in the Hospitality App. It was informative and helpful. We highly recommend Cinnamon’s, the restaurant that was in the courtyard of this building! It was excellent! And we really enjoyed Pesca for lunch one day, which was on the 30th floor. Be sure to check out Dave’s Ice Cream as well! Which was also in the courtyard area. The location worked well for all of the different directions we headed when exploring Honolulu and the rest of the island. We would most definitely stay here again! We had such a wonderful time on our anniversary trip, and this rental was a part of the magic that was our first trip to Hawaii! Mahalo!

Great, clean, updated unit close to Ala Moana and not too far from the main drag of Waikiki. Included parking stall was an amazing feature given the price of parking at some places. No ocean view but that is okay considering you are steps away from the ocean. We would certainly stay again.

Free parking is definitely a merit. Communication with the property manager could have been smoother. Very nice on phone calls but can come out unfriendly through texts. The apt was very nicely renovated and clean. Had fully equipped kitchen and was a nice stay. The water pressure in the toilet could be improved. Nonetheless it was a great stay and would recommend to visitors if they are looking for accommodation with kitchen.

Captain Cook Resorts communicated well and clearly with us before and during our stay. They even let us know about the Friday fireworks on Oahu that can be seen from a variety of locations in Waikiki. We were able to arrange a late check out that accommodated our departure time. The amenities included the basic necessities and the space was great for my husband and I to end the last few days of our honeymoon with parking availability for our rental car included with the reservation.

The floor was dirty so I complained and Paul said he had cleaners come in that Tuesday to clean the floors - unfortunately they were still dirty. We take our shoes off when we come in our own home and we did so in the condo. I had to keep a washcloth by the bed to wipe my feet before I got into bed at night. The air conditioner had to be operated manually because batteries in ac we’re dead. Very noisy location when windows were open.

I was finally able to take my 15 day vacation in Waikiki and I’m sure glad I did! This is a gorgeous condo stocked with all the cooking utensils and everything you need for a comfortable stay! I did buy an extra pair of sheets. Although there is washer/dryer just down the hall from the condo. So it was really nice to be able to do my laundry anytime I needed. Checkin was easy. They gave me a code to use to enter the condo. I also had my own parking space and key fob to park my rental car. The location is perfect. It’s a beachfront property right in Waikiki and only a few blocks away from The Ala Moana Shopping Mall. I will stay here again! Captain Cook is a great Property Management Company! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

Great location, lots within walking distance. Every hotel around, you are charged $50+ for nightly parking. This unit includes free parking, great perk. Kitchen in unit was great to have.
Only down side for this property, the bed was very hard and uncomfortable. By day 4 both our backs were sore.
Bathroom appeared to be updated per pics , however the shower floor was absolutely disgusting. Could use a huge scrubbing better yet a whole new shower pan. I wore flip flops for ever shower. Also added a broom would be very useful, especially after a trip to the beach.

Paul was quick to respond and very helpful as our host. The elevators get busy during the day, but the wait time isn't unbearable. As might be expected, there is a good deal of street noise, but when the doors are shut most of it isn't noticeable. We might have preferred an ocean view, but this price is hard to beat.

This vacation rental was absolutely beautiful even with a city view it was amazing. The huge balcony that took up the whole outer wall and had plenty of sitting room made this place seem larger. It was clean, and made my stay away from home feel like I was right at home vs the feeling of being in a hotel. There was no noise heard from neighbors above, below, either side, nor noise from the hallway. I was happy to stay here and would do so again.

Great location, there is a separate laundry room on the floor, one could tell by the elevators, carpeting, lighting, pool, general property amenities that the property had not been updated in at least a decade. The room itself was cozy, bed was comfortable, shower had good pressure. Couch was nice, overall a good place to rest our heads. Balcony to sit out and have morning coffee was nice however it was a little scary looking over to the balcony next to us to see it had been covered in bird poop and clearly had been deserted for a while. Self parking was a bit tough, as someone petite it was difficult to get the car close enough to swipe in and swipe out each time. Also the way the hotel managed pickup/dropoff/valet looked like it was waiting for an accident to happen. Ice cream shop and convenience store downstairs were great. It's a nice enough place but I probably wouldn't stay again.

We really enjoyed this property. The price is great for what you get. You aren’t staying on a beach but honestly we were there in the morning and night. We didn’t want to waste money on a resort since we weren’t going to be there much. The kitchen is nicely updated and the balcony is a nice touch. The bathroom needs to be a little updated, like the shower. But overall was just fine. The parking spot it comes with is FANTASTIC! It’s so expensive otherwise so that was a great bonus to this rental. We would definitely stay here again!

This was a very convenient stay - the free parking and provided beach chairs were a lifesaver! We loved the microwave/air fryer combo - saved us many nights for dinner! Would absolutely stay again

Studio had everything we needed in the kitchen. Beach chairs and towels were a huge bonus. Easy check in. Very walkable location. Would stay again.
