We had a really good time everything was great but I think that the condo was dated I think they need to I don't know the condo just seemed to me like it was dull but then again we don't always stay in it we're mostly on the go and yes I'd be back recommended this property again I love staying here I think it's a great location and everybody is very helpful

#223 has an amazing view of the ocean! Leave the sliding doors open to hear the waves crashing all night long with a cool breeze blowing in off the shore. A great experience.

You can't get a better location, that's the up side. We saw sea turtles in tide pools right outside our window every single day, sometimes twice a day! Unfortunately the property isn't maintained well at all. There is black mold in the grout around the bathtub, the couch and sheets were torn and had stains on them, the screen doors didn't open, hot water heater didn't heat enough water for showers, etc. The property manager didn't respond to us when we reached out for help so we were on our own until we tracked down someone else at the management company. It's a pity because this location has so much potential.

Stayed with my boyfriend and teenage children. Great spot close to all the shopping areas! They have chairs and boogie boards and stuff for the beach in the patio storage, plus 4 beach towels . Great to have 2 bathrooms with teenage girls with us! Washer and dryer worked great! Easy parking underneath the condo.

This was our second time to the big island. We had an amazing time at Bali Kai!! The view was absolutely breath taking and the crashing of the ocean waves all day/night never got old 🌊 We had a perfect seat to watch the sunset and turtles feed each evening! The condo is older but was very clean. Towels, handsoap, dishwasher and laundry tabs, paper towels, Kleenex and TP were provided. We found the master bed to be very soft and saggy. Their was an issue with the washer on our 2nd last day and Wayne was very responsive and sent someone over right away! The location is fantastic…it made it easy to commute to our favourite beaches. The condo came equipped with beach chairs, umbrellas, boogies boards and snorkel gear. We would definitely stay here again 🌺

We had a wonderful stay at Wayne's property. The condo was clean, comfortable, and located in a beautiful setting on the Kailua-Kona coastline, looking over tidepools and sunning sea turtles. Wayne was a very responsive host: the washing machine door was broken when we arrived, and he arranged to have it fixed the same day. We can't recommend this property enough! You will have a wonderful stay.

Our condo was on the second floor right above the gently breaking waves. Every morning we watched the surfers at Banyan Beach and the outriggers paddling by. The place is a bit dated but clean, so we were quite happy. The managers were very responsive. I recommend it.

This was the best place for our entire family! I can’t say enough about this condo and give it a high mark. This condo has everything you could possibly need. Washer and dryer, snorkel and boogie board equipment, full kitchen....the list goes on. Wayne is wonderful to deal with and is so accommodating as we were a late check in and gave us all the info we needed- thank you Wayne! Sea turtles were a constant sight adjacent to this suite. The location was really easy to get around by trolley when it was on time, markets nearby as well as some beaches. (Beware of Magic Sands- some websites say kid friendly but we found out the hard way that the surf can be quite dangerous). Great lifeguards! Manta Ray Night Snorkeling was a chance of a lifetime and would recommend this activity to anyone wanting a little adventure. We were privileged to be here for the Mauna Loa eruption.All in all this condo has every amenity imaginable down to the small appliances. Swimming pool is a perfect place to wind down the day. I will definitely come back in the future. A very clean, well maintained condo

Oceanfront is hard to beat. Condo is dated and should be remodeled sooner than later. A lot of things are soon going to be in the non-functional category. (Refrigerator, light switch, toilet handle, bathtub needs a new plug). The garbage disposal was not working when we arrived but the property manager was able to send someone to fix it on day 2.
If you are a person that likes AC and expects remodeled places this might not be your place.
Overall, We love the location and accessibility. We enjoyed Breakfast and happy hours looking at the ocean. We spotted some turtles and had a good time.

This condo is in a great location, is clean, well equipped with accessories. It has a beautiful patio overlooking the ocean; a private pool and a very nicely landscaped property.Unfortunately the second bedroom is in the back. This location is loud at night and there is no air flow from the ocean. Luckily there is a pull out in front of the patio which worked well with the extra fans.

What a nice stay! Loved the view and being right on the ocean. The grounds were beautiful. Sitting on the balcony was like sitting on the beach! The condo was older but had everything we needed and was quite comfortable. Having 2 bathrooms was a nice plus!

This place had an awesome view and the location was great but the condo itself needs updating. It could use a deep cleaning including carpet cleaning. Screwholes in the from towel racks need filled and walls painted. We did appreciate the beach gear and cooler available for guest use. If you are an early riser be extremely quiet or you will disturb your non vacationing neighbors and they will leave you a note letting you know quiet hours are from 9pm to 8am and not to talk, move chairs, or furniture during those hours.

Very outdated. Alot of needed repairs. Owner tried to fix a few things while still in the unit which is inconvenient as you are tiring to be on vacation. Should of not rented it out until complete. Annoyed that TV didn't work, light switches not working, hot water not working, dryer not working. Also not stocked very well. I have stayed numerous times in the same condo complex different units. None of them as poorly as this unit.

Loved the location and the ocean view. However, when the fire alarm went off at 2:30 am in the unit above us nobody was around to help and we had to listen to the alarm for 5 hours. We contacted the property manager several times during the long night and got no response. A neighbor gave my husband the security office and property manager phone numbers and again only voice mail and no response. Called the fire department. They came at 5 am and checked to make sure there was no fire. Nobody reached out to us in the morning and later in the day when we spoke to the property manager he was dismissive which was frustrating since we lost over 5 hours of sleep. And the property manager was dismissive as well.

Tubs in both bathrooms had large, rusted cracks around the cleanout with rust stains trailing down; rugs were more brown than gray from embedded dirt/stains; top of refrigerator was totally red with rust, half the towel racks in both bathrooms were missing but their screw holes and rusty mounting plates were still in the wall. The window frames were scabrous with badly chipped wood, layers of oxidized aluminum and peeling paint. The front door’s wooden frame & trim looked like beavers had been eating them. My wife made a list of 21 problem areas.

Kona Bali Kai offers a lot of charm. It was built a long time ago, and has withstood the test of time. Local surfers enjoy the beach next door which adds to the local lifestyle. Our condo was clean and the kitchen was well appointed. The linen was fresh, and the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed viewing whales from the lanai and local fishermen trying to catch their dinner. The pool is a little on the cool side, and gets about 4 hours of sunshine. Still, that didn't deter us. The staff keep the place looking tidy, and the lawns watered and mowed. The grills are about at the end of their lifecycle, so you should bring a lighter with and lots of patience.The condo manager was very responsive and kind. This is one of our favorite places to stay in Kona.

We enjoyed our stay at Kona Bali Kai. The view is amazing we saw whales, dolphins and turtles right from the Lanai. The unit itself was comfortable, a few things that need to be done: carpets in both bedroom need replacing, fridge needs to be replaced and the sliding screen door needs repair. The front bedroom gets traffic noise as the street is quite busy. Overall we really enjoyed it, being in the oceanfront was amazing.

The reviews on the property are very accurate. It is a great central location close to beaches, restaurants. The condo views are amazing. You face the ocean and sometimes are able to view sea turtles from your balcony. The sounds of waves and the breeze from the ocean keeps the unit cooler. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely visit again.
The condo does need cleaning, and some updating. Also having an aircondition for those hot summer days would help. These are items are clearly mentioned in the listing, so if you are Ok with that it is a great property and would definitely stay here.

The property was beautiful and well kept up. Everything was very handy and the trolley into the downtown was great! I would suggest putting a ceiling fan on the lanai to hep cool during the day but otherwise was amazing!

Being steps from the ocean there is nothing like listening to the waves crash right outside the bedroom door while you drift to sleep. Unbelievable sunset view. Some would say it could use some updating but to me it had a cozy cottage feel and I really appreciated that vibe. Hope to stay here again for a longer period next time.

Love Kona Bali Kai! We've been traveling to the Big Island for years and have stayed in many different units in this same property. What makes it somewhat unique from other properties in the area is that it's (1) oceanfront - like 20 ft from the ocean and (2) both the living room and master bedroom are off the lanai, so if you like living, eating and sleeping to the sounds of the ocean, this is the spot for you! This particular unit is funky, but functional. We had everything we needed, prepared many meals, showered, laundry, etc. It's outdated and could use some TLC, so if you're looking for luxury accommodations, this may not be the unit for you, BUT if you're like me, being oceanfront is luxury enough! And everything else is icing on the cake.

The decor is pretty limited and outdated. The freezer was leaking. The property had no AC so it was hot and humid the entire time even with the sliding doors open. A working washer and dryer was a plus.

You can not beat the proximity to the water-I mean, you would be in the ocean if you got any closer! The sound of the waves at night lulled us to sleep and the sunset view from the lanai was to die for. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

from the moment we walked into the condo we were awestruck. Such a beautiful view, the surf was high and the sunsets every night. The barbeque was great to use and the pool stayed open until 10. It was perfect for end of the day dip and soak in the spa. I definitely would love to stay here again!

Master Bedroom is right next to the patio so you can look out on the ocean when you wake up or if you just wanna stay in bed forever. The view from the deck is absolutely stunning we saw turtles and surfers. The place is right next to the best poke on the island. Absolutely love that there was a washer and dryer and place to park the place felt very safe and it was centrally located.
