Absolutely Amazing! From the time we walked in, it was perfect. This is a corner room and the views are breathtaking. I’m not a beach person, so the large lanai was ideal. We lived on the south side, Wailea for 14 years, but this unit and location are a cut above! Easily walk to shopping, dining, luaus, beach activities and of course sunset. Very quiet, we never heard anyone else. Going to sleep and waking up to the sound of the waves crashing was spectacular! We will definitely be back! Mahalo!

This was our 2nd stay in this condo during whale watching season. The beachfront location is amazing… we spent several hours each day on the patio whale watching. The pool area is nice, and Kaanapali beach is great for kayaking, snorkeling, sunbathing, etc. Most of our excursions left from the beach, which was so convenient. We love being so close to Whaler’s Village for restaurants/shopping. This condo is a 10+!!

We loved our stay at the Ali'i. The corner views from the apartment and the view from the balcony don't get much better. The apartment was spacious for the 5 of us. One of our adult kids slept on the pullout sofa (but did not find it very comfortable. Probably better for a smaller child as there was not much support. ) Overall the place looks identical to the photos. Family room was very comfortable for our family in the evenings. Good table space inside and outside for meals. The kitchen is small and crowded when everyone is making food at the same time, but an easy fix. And while most of the apartment felt remolded, the master bathroom (specially the tub) felt very old and dated. Even a quick switch of the shower head would be a huge upgrade to match the rest of the place. We had one incident of water entering the bathroom from the apartment above us. We called the property manager and the building maintenance and the response was immediate. They identified the issue, fixed the problem, apologized for the minor inconvenience- we were super impressed at the care that is taken in this building and by the property manager of this apartment. Given the small amount of time anyone spends inside while in Hawaii, having incredible views and great location certainly adds to making a great vacation even better! We would stay here again.

The apartment was great and we had a wonderful time. Views were terrific and, as usual the weather was great. We had a person in a wheelchair and the steps were challenging but we accommodated. We would probably rent a ramp next time and yes there will be a next time. One minor suggestion would be to put a rubber mat in the shower/tub in the master bath as the tub floor was very slippery. inside steps are not well liked; the sofa bed is extremely uncomfortable for adults(needs inflatable mattress), toilets too low without assist bars; shower needs safety grab bars; location and views are fantastic.

We have stayed multiple times at Kaanapali Alli - never disappoints. Great apartments- fabulous views. Great amenities. Walking distance to many shops, bars and restaurants. And the best secret - chef to help bbq in the evening! Had a wonderful week. Always sad to leave.

We had a great time at this place. The location is fantastic: corner condo on the 8th floor with an amazing view of the beach and waters, with a view of Lanai on one side and Molokai on the other. You can see the full length of Kaanapali Beach all the way to Black Rock. The place was clean with all the amenities as advertised. The kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry are fully stocked. There were even beach related items, like beach chairs, a boogie board, and beach toys if you have small children. We were contacted both by Faith, the property owner, and Kaanapali Ali, and were well informed about the check-in process, which was seamless. It really is a fantastic place. We found Faith and her staff quite responsive, usually replying within 24 hours at most. The only thing that makes us give 4 stars instead of 5 are two issues: (1) The guest bathroom door would not close. In fact, it wouldn't move at all. We were told that the door was broken and would need to be replaced entirely, which they understandably couldn't do while we were staying there. However, this forced everyone to use the master bathroom. In addition, the master bathroom door would not lock, which is not ideal either. (2) Many of the windows were very difficult to open and close. The window in the master bedroom would not close at all unless you stuck your finger inside and held down the latch until the window would close, which risks you getting your finger jammed or smashed. And the AC doesn't turn on unless you close the window fully. Now, overall these weren't big deals and didn't detract from an otherwise wonderful stay at a beautiful place. But really they should have been fixed before our stay, and given the amount we had to pay for this place, you expect to get what you pay for. Overall, we would definitely recommend this place but would advise other travelers to verify that management has fixed the issues before making a reservation.

By far the nicest unit we've ever stayed in at the Alii. Knockout views of the water, beautiful decor, lovely welcome package. Easy to see whales from the balcony without ever leaving. And fantastic location in the middle of all that Kaanapali offers. Can't wait to return.

This is our 3rd trip to Maui. We’ve stayed at the Sheraton, Mahana, and now the Kaanapali Alii. All 3 properties were nice, but we prefer the KA. Loved the beach, the location to Whaler’s Village, nice pool, great outside grills, and helpful staff. We spent hours on the patio whale watching. We give this condo a 10+ rating!

This was the most fantastic property--the view was just incredible! We had a problem with the some of the doors, and the issue was mostly resolved, and was satisfactory for us. But the beauty and convenience of the location was worth a small issue with the screens.

Location was great, in proximity to shopping, restaurants, & beach. The unit was perfect for our family of 5. Washer & dryer in the unit was convenient so we didn't have to pack as many clothes. Plenty of pool/beach chairs and toys kept the kids occupied. The only negative was that there was no housekeeping provided for our 8 day stay & the last thing we wanted to be doing on vacation was washing sheets & towels. Overall it was a spectacular stay & highly recommended!

This 2 BR condo on the eighth floor was a perfect accommodation for our family of four. We had everything we needed and we loved the Kaanapali Alii. The location was great and close to most everything. We loved the sidewalk between the resorts and the beach that took you to restaurants and shopping and other parts of the beach, including Black Rock Beach. We loved the snorkeling at Black rock. And of course our boys love jumping off of Black rock into the ocean. There are stores nearby for grocery shopping. The pool area was superb as were the two hot tubs. This was a special place and if we go back we will stay here again. The property management company was very responsive and sent someone to clean out a sink drain and a bathtub drain that were draining poorly. The only thing they were not able to arrange was a mid-stay cleaning but that’s OK.

Five family members arrived to unit 385 and all my kids would say was wow dad did you know how nice this condo is!
Truly great week, the views are without a doubt the best you could ever want, every room has a ocean view!
Already looking at availability to book again!
We have stayed in numerous units at the Alii, this by far tops the list, we most likely would not return unless we could rent this unit!

We loved staying in this condo for a week! The views from inside the condo and from the balcony cannot be beat. We watched the sunset every night from the balcony! The condo was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and we had everything we needed in the kitchen. Our only complaint is that there are no ventilation fans in the bathrooms and so the rooms tend to smell a little musty. However, we discovered that we were able to turn off the AC & open all the windows and doors each morning and enjoy the breeze coming through, which helped a lot with that. We would absolutely stay here again; the condo was beautiful and we loved being able to walk to dining & shopping & to the beach for excursions pickups.

My family and I have ben staying at the Alii for over 15 years. It is our happy place. We had never stayed in Unit 385 and it is easiest the nicest condo we have had the pleasure of vacationing in on Maui. Beautifully decorated, clean as a whistle, and supplied with absolutely everything you may need during your stay. We cannot say enough great things about this rental. Thank you SO much.

Beautiful unit with spectacular oceans views in every room. Beautifully decorated, this condo is spacious and comfy. Wonderful ocean views may tempt you to just sit in the living room or on the lanai and never leave. The beach outside is quite wide compared to some other areas on the island and has pretty good waves. Easy walk to Whaler's Village or the nearby hotels puts some nice restaurants and shopping in easy reach. Short, easy drive to Lahaina. Overall a wonderful condo.
My one caveat would be to anyone with mobility issues. There are two steps down from the entry hall into the living areas (you can see this in a few of the photos). This was not an issue at all for us, but it would definitely have been for my parents and may also be something to consider for very small children.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Alii 385. The pictures are exactly what the condo looks like. It is a beautiful remodel, with modern furnishings and everything you need to be very comfortable throughout your stay. As others have stated the bathroom tubs are original but everything else is brand new. We have stayed at the Alii several times and this is by far the most beautiful condo we have stayed in or seen in this complex.
The resort area of Ka’anapali Beach is crazy crowded. The hotel pools are wall to wall people. However, the Alii is peaceful and calm.
The barbecue area is a gathering place for dinner and sunsets. It is just a great family vacation. We have already inquired about returning to 385 in the future.

Okay remodel, but they cut corners, and it photographs well. The curtain rods are so RUSTED we had a very difficult time opening the curtains, standing on a chair helped. The showers are original, and the mold in the corners of the grout were a nice touch. The drains in the showers have issues, you are basically standing in a few inches of water while showering. The shower heads are so old, maybe 30 years +. No maid service on this unit! TV's don't get local cable, be prepared to Netflix. The kitchen is poorly stocked, the pans are soooo bad, cheap as they get. If you want to cook an egg be prepared to float them in oil or butter because they will stick to the bottom if you don't. We did BBQ one night, we purchased some very nice Filet Mignon, but zero steak knifes, so disappointing. There were several other issues, to many to mention. Detail work is so important. The view is amazing, but not worth the bad service from the "property managers" I don't blame the owners I blame the "property Managers" for the issues. At $10,000.00 a week they need to step up the game. The Alii is one of our favorites for over 10 years, but this is so disappointing. I'm glad we spoke to several owners about this service as VRBO has been reaching out to them. We have had better service using Kaanapali Alii direct.

Pros: Location, short walk to Whalers Village, restaurants and Starbucks. Large unit. Large lanai with beautiful views, saw multiple Whales even though it was late in the season. Place has three excellent individual Air Conditioners. Black out curtains in bedrooms. Very fast elevator. Pool and Beach towel service. Very nice furnishings. Friendly Bellhop to help with luggage. Large beach.
Cons: No curtains in living room to block afternoon sun, hard to watch TV. Master bedroom king size bed has valley in it and needs to be replaced. Doors needed to be oiled, very noisy. Pool chairs with sun covers get taken early. Beach has a lot of wave action may not be suitable for unaccompanied small children.
