Positives:
Good location. Good amenities on site.
Negatives:
Both beds were very uncomfortable. Communication with site managers was corporate and unhelpful. No filtered water available in unit. Extremely high management and cleaning fees accompanied by more resort fees upon arrival.

Great Locale for things to do on west side. Not in the overcrowded and overhyped Kaanapali area, but right on the beach and near lots to do. The grounds were spectacular and meticulously maintained. The sunsets were perfect. There was snorkeling, beach play and fun right at our fingertips. Could walk to food, food trucks and fish market. Napili Bay and other snorkeling and swimming beaches super close. Overall, great spot. Also, coffee maker wasn't working and it was replaced immediately.

The sunsets were perfect. There was snorkeling, beach play and fun right at our fingertips. Could walk to food, food trucks and fish market. Napili Bay and other snorkeling and swimming beaches super close. Overall, great spot. Also, coffee maker wasn't working and it was replaced immediately.

the murphy bed is too close to the air conditioner !!!! this is a pretty easy fix!!!! also ….there is no cable tv !!!!! this is why I think it cannot be 5 stars otherwise great 4/5 😀😀😀

Loved our stay, everything from checkin to checkout was easy, everyone was friendly and the resort was wonderful. All the attention to detail of the bigger, more expensive resorts without the crowds and noise.

Let me start with the good...good location, fit a family of 4 (2 on the bed and 2 on the pullout), Cable, laundry, towels, stocked with what you need for a week, easy parking. The bad...the main room AC was ok but the bedroom was an oven and you only had a fan to blow around hot air, no bars or food service on property, no beach on property, Wi-Fi in the bedroom was unusable, if you run the dryer it vents the hot air into the condo which is already super hot...Circulation needs to be improved it was way to hot with the dryer and lack of AC. Would stay on property again but not at this condo.

Have rented many condos on vrbo and this is the first time I have written a review. Felt compelled to write a review as the property manager was constantly asking if they were going to receive a 5 star review. Also, cannot understand how others could rate this condo so highly.
The condo is in desperate need of a renovation. The shower is old and moldy/rotten as are the tiled kitchen counter tops. The furniture is so uncomfortable. The kitchen has old castaway items from many years ago. The air conditioning is a small window unit in the living room which is very loud inside and out on the lanai. The listing states there is no air conditioning in the bedroom. The bedroom does have windows that open but you have to close the curtains, which limits air flow, because there is a light outside that you can't turn off. The dryer vents into the closest which makes the unit heat up. This may have been a 5 star condo in the 1970's but not in 2023. I would have cancelled my reservation as soon as I walked into the condo if I could have received my money back.

We love this Resort so always return to it. This is a bottom unit that opens onto the grounds which we love because our kids were in another one across the way on the second floor and they could just come over and hang out with us easily.

Great suite, clean, well supplied (though could have used a few more plates). Bed quite comfortable as is the Murphy bed. The Murphy bed is a great alternative to the always uncomfortable sofa bed and leaves lots of usable room in living area when stored. Living room furniture quite dated and uncomfortable, could use an update there.
Woke one morning to no water due to water main issues, and had to fill toilet with pool water. Water was fairly quickly resolved by Papakea, was not a huge problem for us.
Overall we were happy with this suite and would rent this suite again. Ground floor location is handy and parking is very close. The location and resort itself are great, we always stay at Papaya when on Maui.
Did not have to contact the Management Company but they sent several emails and ?or texts to make sure all was OK.

This resort is laid back and beautiful this is our 3rd time staying here. Ocean front with nice amenities and close to restaurants and good beaches. We needed a few things during our stay which we did end up getting after letting Perfect Stay know. We will be back to the Papakia Resoet!

This is our second time at Papakea and the condo was perfect for our needs. The ground floor location is fantastic, especially with children who love to be outside. The kitchen was decently stocked, but it would be nice to have a few extra plates and bowls to not have to run dishwasher/wash dishes as frequently. Both the bed in the bedroom and the murphy bed were comfortable. It was nice to have a murphy bed that we could fold up during the day to have more space, though it did break coming down the last night. It was after hours and not an emergency, so we just reported to the property manager in the morning. Overall, it was a great stay and we have no complaints!

We stayed in this unit for 2 weeks and had a great time. Perfect for young families who don't want to worry about a unit that is too fussy. When issues came up, we called and the property managers took care of them within a day. Some small issues with murphy bed not folding all the way in and some drawers not working well in back room, but location is wonderful and parking is always easy. Would definitely stay again.

My wife's family have been visiting the Papakea for 30+ years, including me for almost the last 20 years. We have always stayed at the Papakea and this was our best visit yet. The unit was clean, well stocked, free of bugs, and the property managers & concierge were very easy to communicate and work with!
We only hesitate to give it a great review because we're afraid it will be sold out when we want to visit it in the future! ;-)
Our kids are younger, and Papakea and this ground floor unit are great. The pools and putting green are well situated for younger families and the small beach works well under supervision. Papakea is great for us because it's far enough away from the bigger resorts that it has minimal foot traffic, but only a short drive to Kaanapali, Lahaina, etc.. We love it and can't wait to return. Thank you!

We love the general area so the location is was perfect for us and the condo fit well. Sometimes it can be a bit noisy if you go to bed early as people are returning home. But that was not problem otherwise.
