The apartment was extremely spacious and well equipped. The apartment was well situated on the property with quick and easy access to the cliffs and to the pool.
We really enjoyed attending the "owners" Mai Tai reception on Monday afternoon. Most of the apartments appeared to be time shares, so if you are looking this is the place to be.
The views on the photo are a tad deceptive, we are about 800 yards (700 metres) from the cliffs, yet the views from one of the 2 lanais are amazing.
I worked most mornings (4 AM to noon) to be on East coast time and the Internet speeds were better than what I have at home.
This will be on our list of properties to consider for our next trip to the garden spot of Hawaii.

Our stay at the Cliffs was wonderful. The condo was exactly as described. We really enjoyed the views and convenience to beaches, grocery shopping, outdoor activities and more. The resort itself also has a great pool, exercise room, books and board games, rental bikes, etc. This location was a perfect homebase for exploring Kauai.

The property management was awesome, location is phenomenal, morning views from the cliff were beautiful. The kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked. Honestly our ONLY complaint was the lack of air conditioning. To be fair the listing does not mention air conditioning but the unit is on the third floor and it was consistently in the high 70s with all the windows open and fans going. We didn’t come to the islands to hang inside but the temp made it challenging to even get ready for dinners without sweating 😅 I’m all about sharing info that I would have wanted to know before booking and that was it for us. It does seem to cool down in the evenings (after 10ish). We would absolutely come back and suggest this to others if there was an AC option (or maybe before June when it gets so hot). All in all we had a great time here 🙂

We loved this place! The condo had everything we needed! The beds, the furniture and the lani were comfy and cozy. I can't say anything about the TVs as we never used them. The location of the condo gave us multiple options of adventures to take. The pool and the condo grounds are wonderful. The view from the cliff, with the birds, the boats, and the vegetation was always entertaining. Rong, the owner, is a breeze to work with. Come stay here!

We stayed at Rong’s place at the Cliffs for five nights and we couldn’t be happier with our choice. The condo has the most beautiful ocean view from the front lanai and another beautiful mountain view at the back lanai off the master bedroom. The Cliffs has excellent amenities and it was much more relaxed than a resort as the pool was never overly crowded or busy. The condo is beautifully decorated and has so many windows that open, allowing the whole place to be filled with those amazing ocean breezes. The master bed is very comfortable and we were a five minute drive from the Princeville Foodland, that covered all our grocery needs. We were 10 minutes from Hanalei, which was our favourite town on Kauai from our whole trip.
If you stay here, my only warning is that the condo is a third floor walk up, so if stairs are an issue this may not be the place for you.

Out stay was great. The place was clean, easy to get to and from, Lots of amenities and close to shopping and groceries. Unit was equipped with snorkel and beach gear which is great for travelers. The many windows offered lots of light and breezes, however better curtains for privacy are needed.

The condo exceeded my expectations in size. The loft and master bedroom were very large. The loft beds were perfect. Pleasant surprise that our family staying in the master bedroom could not hear our TV in the loft.The kitchen was well stocked with the necessary cookware.The Cliff's amenities were very nice. The lanais were also quite large and we enjoyed having our meals out there with a beautiful ocean view. The only thing that I would have wished for would have been a beach that I could walk to.

We loved The Cliffs property. The view was amazing and it had lots of amenities. Good location for exploring the North side of the island.
I loved the vaulted ceilings, it made the condo feel so large and open.
My only feedback would be that the condo needs a deep clean and new bedding. The king bed that we slept on had stains on the bedding.
Other than that, we had a wonderful time and it was nice that a blow dryer and curling irons were also provided!

Great stay, highly communicative host. Lots of amenities (e.g., deck chairs, snorkels, etc.). Highlight was the balcony with loungers and a dining table and ocean views.
Something to keep in mind - it's a long long drive (2+ hours) to the Waimea Canyon even though it's close by as the crow flies. (It's still a must-see), ditto the Na Pali coast (unless you do a very very long hike).

This condo is very nice, I could imagine staying here with my kids and feeling very comfortable. The location is great as far as proximity to the best of Kauai. But if you are looking for a romantic stay for two, I would recommend elsewhere, only because of the business of the complex.
We were unaware of the population of roosters on Kauai, so had an unpleasant first night/morning with the chorus of roosters crowing before dawn and throughout the morning. But we solved that problem by using several of the multiple fans available in the condo to drown out the noise and create a cooling breeze at the same time to battle the lack of air conditioning.
Only one real complaint that caused us some amount of difficulty was the consistent trouble we had with the entry lock. Our first night we had to call up the maintenance help to assist us, and even he struggled to get the lock open. Not fun when you arrive late and are exhausted from travel. Nor when returning from a hot afternoon of activities, tired and hungry and cant get the door open!
Rong, please consider replacing the entire door latch and lock system. Take a look at what the unit below yours has...that would be great!
The condo is well stocked with all the essentials which we very much appreciated!

Great condo. Just as advertised. Neighborhood was quiet, smaller, and the pools were great. Good location and views from the condo were nice. Host was responsive and helpful.
We stayed in late July 2022 on our babymoon while I was 7 months pregnant. I was a little nervous about the no AC situation. It does get warmer in the unit between 4-7ish but with the windows open, cross breeze, and all the fans they offer it wasn’t an issue. We also used this time to hit the pool. The beach and snorkel gear they provided was also clutch. We liked the location of the condo and accessed a lot of beaches and stuff to do. Nothing walkable you’d 100% need to rent a car.
We had a lovely time and would 100% stay here again.

This place is beautiful, with an amazing view and scenery. It was very clean and updated, and the kitchen was fully stocked with lots of great appliances. The staff weren’t super friendly or helpful (at one point, we tried to exchange 5 used towels for clean towels, and the staff person wanted to give us only 1 clean one, and grumbled about giving us 1 per guest), but we only had to deal with them a couple of times, so it was fine. There is a beautiful pool and ocean view, along with amazing toiletries and in-unit laundry, which was really convenient, though I wish they had larger bottles instead of individual size so there would be less waste.
The downsides were: 1) the beds are very firm, which was not comfortable for us; 2) there are roosters on the property that crow all night long, so it was difficult to sleep, though, to be fair, I think this is an issue all over the island; 3) the unit is very hot when we were there and had no A/C, while this is great for the environment and there were lots of fans, it made it difficult to sleep; and 4) while close to some things, like Hanelei and Queen’s Bath, the property is pretty far from a lot of things on the island.
Overall. I would definitely recommend this place, keeping in mind some of the downsides.

Overall the condo was great and had plenty of cooking supplies. The master bed felt a little old/slightly uncomfortable. The views were great and we loved the layout of the condo. Unfortunately, the door was extremely hard to open with a copied key- so much so that maintenance had a difficult time helping us get into the apartment. We notified the owner, and it was never fixed during our stay. We are unaware if anyone came back to look at it. We noticed most other doors had scan cards to open their condos. This would be a great improvement! Other than that , it was a nice stay.

The unit is on the cliff of Kauai's Northshore Princeville village. You see the ocean from the rooms and go to sleep in the gentle Tradewinds. The unit is well equipped with kitchen ware and beach things. The spice cabinet is even fully stocked. The owner is great in communication and accommodated our chabge request. You will have a wonderful time here, walk to see sunrise and sunset on the ocean each day.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. The condo is clean and has a great amount of space. The kids enjoyed having their own space in the loft area. The two lanai are very beautiful, each with a different view, one of the mountains and one of the ocean. The resort has a nice pool, workout facility, food trucks and a great hike where we saw 6 green sea turtles. The condo is close to the Princeville shopping center and the cute town of Hanalei with shopping and restaurants.

We had lots of fun on our stay. We appreciated the sand toys, boogie boards, kids life jacket, and lots of fans that came with the rental. The loft was hot during the day but the fans and windows helped it to cool down by night. Kitchen was well-stocked and the amenities of the resort were great. We loved the pool, basketball and pickle ball. Lots of geckos in the house but they didn’t bother anyone.

The Cliffs at Princeville was truly wonderful! The place was beautiful and quiet, centrally located to a lot of great places and things to do, and the view was great from both patios. We saw whales on multiple occasions from our balcony. This place was perfect for a three year old too with excellent pools and a playground. Our daughter had a blast! Highly recommend this rental!

We loved the location of this property, and the size, as we spent a month here. It has a large lanai with a dining table and chairs and 2 loungers with a great view of the ocean. Even the kitchen has an ocean view with full glass on one side. Kitchen was well-stocked and had everything we needed. Foodland is only a 2 mile walk or car-ride away to buy groceries. The condo also has beach chairs and an umbrella which we used frequently, along with some snorkel gear and kids fins and toys. Washer and dryer are small, but handled our needs well.
The location is great as Princeville feels like a tropical paradise. No busy highways, just plush, beautiful island greenery. The beautiful, little beach town of Hanalei is just down the road and has a great beach and wonderful food at Kalypso and Bar Acuda. Lots of little shops and other restaurants as well.
The only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is that it could use a few updates. First and most important - the beds are older and were not very comfortable for us. The living room furniture is also showing wear. The master shower had no shelves or ledges for soap or shampoo, so we just used the other bathroom for bathing.
We would definitely stay here again, but some updates would be nice.

This property is beautifully upgraded and maintained and has a spacious open feeling. Natural ventilation is fabulous -- and hard to come by. The Cliffs is our favourite resort on the North Shore of Kauai and the perfect place to experience the phenomenal beauty of the island. We enjoyed the location and third floor view of the ocean!! We were located next to the pools and hot tub which was great for quick access! We were not fond of the rain and heavy winds shuttering the front door sign that’s on all the front doors fans can’t be removed…). There was also an odd smell of the condo but overall we loved the location and they had some snorkeling basics to use!

A fantastic place to stay. The check in was so easy, the location is perfect. The views are great. The staff at the front office are very helpful and nice. The owner goes out of his way to help you, answers questions right away, offers suggestions for activities and places to visit. This was such a great experience. We all loved staying here. One of our favorite parts was sitting out on the lawn, near the cliffs, watching the sunset. Thanks for making the two birthdays we were celebrating even better. This property was exactly what we needed. It was clean and spacious. A beautiful view of the ocean and quiet enough to hear it if you listen closely. Host provided detailed directions to get there and helpful hint and ideas for ways to explore the island. Would 100% stay there again. Helpful hint: grab groceries on your way as the Foodland in Princeville is one of the most expensive on the island.

Close to Hanalei shops and also the Foodland store was a great spot for groceries, lunches, etc. Anini Beach and also Hideaways Beach are both within 5 minutes. We loved staying here and will def come back. Also Rong was incredibly easy to work with and had great tips as well.

We loved staying at this condo! I used the gym every morning right next to the pool. The master bedroom’s balcony overlooked the mountains while the balcony in the living room faced the ocean. Truly amazing experience!

This was our first trip to Kauai and we stayed a week at this Princeville condo. It was a super location for a stay in the North Shore. Compared to other complexes I think the Cliffs was a great choice. The owners were super to deal with and were very attentive. The condo itself has quite a bit of room for improvement, as I feel the shine has faded on this condo when comparing the staged pictures to real life. Overall I would rate it a 3.5 out of 5.
We have rented numerous VRBO properties throughout USA and Canada over the years. I have listed my findings below:
Pros:
- Great location within complex - close to pool and amenities. The Cliffs is a really great complex. It was in a nice location, very quiet, great amenities and lovely front desk staff. The tennis courts and pool are fabulous.
- Nice daylight throughout the condo and great cross breeze
- Beautiful deck with partial ocean view. Great for morning coffee and evening dinners
- Beds were very comfortable in the upstairs loft, as was the living room furniture
- Washer/Dryer was great - Loved the boogie boards to use.
- Beautiful clean Webber BBQ's to use throughout the complex
Cons:
- The condo was not as clean as pictures indicate. It has great potential, but requires a very thorough cleaning (drapes, doors, walls, counters, ensuite shower, rusty curtain rods).
- Desperately needs a blind on the window bedside the front door. The outside security light shines in all night long and reflects off the mirrored doors into bedroom. Blind is also needed for privacy.
- The ice machine in the freezer is broken. We had to purchase ICE at Foodland.
- Would have been nice to have a radio in the condo for local news, weather and music. Says there is one, but not that we could find.
- The two closets in the main bedroom were so full of beach equipment (a lot of it broken) that there was nowhere to hang our clothes.
- Master bed was not overly comfortable (quite hard)
- Big issue is the one (and only) key for the front door. The door automatically locks behind you every time you go out, so if you don't have the key you are out of luck! I thankfully had the foresight to test this theory as we arrived very late at night and were unloading our luggage. HIGHLY recommend the owners install a number key pad lock. It was a constant stress to remind our teen and ourselves to ALWAYS have the key with us when coming and going.

I have stayed at a few VRBO places and some are not quite what the pictures show. They show only the most flattering view and leave out something. Not this property. Everything was 100 % as the pictures show.
We had an issue with the ceiling fan and the internet. Both were taken care of by maintenance very quickly. Rong, checked in to make sure everything was going well. I cannot say how great they are to work with. They sent us a great packet of information about the area, and answered any questions we could have. Great people!!!!
Great views from the room and the overall property. 5 minute drive to Anini Beach. Great shade trees and lots of sunny beach. Also is great for snorkeling. We had marginal weather but still took the beach chairs and umbrella down to the beach. We were able to set up the wonderful beach umbrella under some trees and even had a great time in the rain.
The opposite direction it was a 10 minute drive to the beaches of Hanalei Bay. We had a great time just discovering beach accesses and watching surfing there. If you like hiking the end of that road has tons of hikes. Great shops in Hanalei.
This property is a 1.5 hour drive to the southern activities but well worth staying here. We had time to kill before flying out and checked the Lihue beaches by a property we almost chose. It was nice, but nothing nearly as luxurious as where this property is.
Rong, I wish I could give you 10 stars.

Family tradition is to celebrate Thanksgiving on the North Shore (we live on the Westside of Kauai) and this year we found Rong's condo - so happy we did! Rong was a pleasure to work with, very attentive and responsive. We felt at home in Rong's condo, it has everything you need (I made an entire Thanksgiving meal), its nicely decorated, clean and the views are beautiful. We enjoyed the pool, my daughter (age 5) loved the on-site playground and we enjoyed the views. We usually stay at HBR around the corner and we're happy we found Rong and the Cliff's for 2017! We hope to book this unit again next year. Mahalo Rong for letting the Finnila family enjoy your beautiful condo!
