One of the best locations on Kauai- on an amazing and uncrowded beach, close to Kapaa, Wailua, and Lihue, only 1 hr to almost any point on the island. Great property and host!

We enjoyed staying here very much. The grounds were spotless and beautiful, along with the pool. The view from the lanai was nice. Kitchen was well-appointed. I will stay here again.

Loved the location. The condo was perfect. The grounds were impeccable and within walking distance of a park. We did encounter a lot of people camping along the road in the area, but the condo provided a security guard and it was not a problem. The park to the left of the condos was very clean. The one to the right was not. It was a very pleasant stay I would love to stay there again. .

Beautiful ocean view and comfortable lanai to take it all in. Halfway between the sights on the north and south side of Kauai. Delightful swimming beach within a short stroll. Owner thoughtfully provides beach chairs, cooler etc

We had such a great time here (our 2nd time). We loved the location, the beach, the pool with bbq area, the walking path to the park, and the condo. The place was clean, well stocked kitchen, views from the deck were beautiful, and the on'-sight laundry mat were convenient. They also have on-sight security. Definitely a place to stay. We will be back!!

Nice clean condo , a little warm due to lack of air conditioning. But ok with fans and open windows. Close to lyngate Park and golf course. We have stayed in this complex before and enjoy the location.

Enjoyed our stay at Kaha Lani very much. Kate is an excellent host with quick responses to any questions or concerns. She makes the VRBO process completely relaxing and uncomplicated. Condo is in a great location and has coolers, float boards, and comfy chairs for enjoying the beautiful beaches. We hope to stay again on future trips.

It’s a perfect location. In fact we stayed here last year as well. Beautiful view of the ocean. Great to sit out on the lanai watching and listening to the birds. Just a short 5 minute walk down the path to Lyndgate Beach park. Nice sanding beach with a breakwater to keep it calm and great for snorkeling.

Location and view were what made this property. The actual rental was dirty. It was in need of a good scrubbing. It is also dated and could use new furniture, a paint job and updating the decor. Communication with the owner was good - she was quick with her responses and answered all our questions. She also offered us a refund when we complained about the lack of cleanliness, however we didn’t have anywhere else to go. We stayed and made the best of it.

Communication with the host was fantastic. The apartment had everything we needed and some extras. We appreciated all of the beach supplies. The apartment was clean when we arrived with clean sheets and towels ready for us. The apartment did feel a little dated and could use some deep cleaning a little more frequently (edges of floors, under the bed, exhaust fan in bathroom). The location was excellent. A nice quiet area with great access to Lydgate Park and everything it has to offer.

I loved this apartment for its position - right in front of the beach, 5 minutes from the airport and easy access to both north and south beaches - and peace. The apartment has everything you need, including beach gear. The owner was so nice and accomodating with last minute requests as well. Definitly recommended!

Beautifully maintained property with view of the ocean in a great location close to airport and both ends of the island. Communication with the condo owner was excellent.

I find few things more delightful than breakfast on the lanai while watching the first rays of sunlight creep over the ocean and listening to the bird's serenades (punctuated by the cymbal crash of a rooster's crow). We come from Kansas where machines are necessary to toast the air in the winter and wring out the humidity in the summer. It's refreshing to vacation in Kauai where the sunshine and breeze condition the air. The condo complex is nestled within the Lydgate Beach Park, a lovely setting when compared with other Kauai resorts located near busy roadways. We daily used the park's paved walkway, more than a mile long, that follows the shoreline in the park. The condo complex grounds are well maintained. The description matches what we found in the condo. But there were several little things that did not make it in the description: motion-activated porch light that made it easier to open the exterior door when we arrived after dark, grocery shopping bags in the closet (Hawaii has banned single use plastic), ice trays, etc. Those little things add up to a pleasant visit. The unit was clean when we arrived and comfortable during our stay. We easily connected with the wifi and the Internet was reliable. This unit was a good match for our laid-back tastes. Our favorite activities were walking the Ke Ala Hele Makalae Path, driving to the Waimea Canyon State Park, watching the sea turtles come ashore at sunset at Poipu Beach, and making our own chocolate bars at the Build-a-bar Workshop at Wild Kauai Chocolate. Our favorite restaurants were Kenji Burger and Paco's Tacos.

Located in Lihue, this property was centralized, making for easy day trips to South, West and North portions of the island. The condo has a nice view and comfortable furnishings. The kitchen has all the tools you need to make meals at home. Wonderful trip!

Could hear the ocean waves and view sunrise daily. Quiet area with the exception of the roosters and hens. Central Kauai location. I didn't realize there wasn't air conditioning and so we had to leave windows open to get a breeze and, even then, was hot and humid. Condensation was dripping down living room mirrors and kitchen oven fan. Had additional fans which helped. Very little privacy with the curtains open to allow the breeze to come in. Condo units are fairly close to each other and so balcony is not private. Got early wakeup calls from the roosters. Would not stay here again unless air conditioning installed.

The Condo was comfortable and clean. It was right by the ocean, you could hear the waves. The sound of the ocean waves was so relaxing, and put you right to sleep.

Stayed at this property for a week. It was clean, excellent location in the middle of kuaui with good access to anywhere on the island. Loved the local golf course located right next door. Easy to get on for a quick 9 holes or 18 whenever we had time. Highly recommend the property.

My husband and I were on Kauai for just a long weekend for a friend’s gathering, but we enjoyed having all the comforts of home at this condo. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans and almost every utensil you could need. The view from the lanai was beautiful and the complex quiet. The hand painting in each of the rooms, even the bathroom, made me feel like I was staying at a boutique hotel. I really liked that there were beach day boogie boards, an ice chest and mats to use. I am grateful for the sensor lights at the front door because we arrived after dark. In my rush to find someplace to stay for this trip, I overlooked that there is no AC. It wasn’t the end of the world, but in the middle of July it’s a little more humid than winter or spring, naturally. Thank goodness for the ceiling fans and oscillating fan. I would definitely stay here again, but most likely in the winter, spring or late fall.

This was the perfect spot for our vacation. My husband and I loved exploring the island. We snorkeled, kayaked and hiked. This condo is centrally located so that we could go to any part of the island easily. The walking path to lydgate beach was perfect and took us about 5 minutes and it had really good snorkeling. The condo was perfect size for the 2 of us. We stopped at Safeway on the way from the airport and used the kitchen for our meals. It has a beautiful view. Communication was easy and we had no concerns. We would definitely use it again next visit.

My husband and I loved staying here. It was quiet but yet busy and very close to a great golf course. The small plane tour was close by and we could explore most of the island from here. The owner was great and communicated with us via email the day after we arrived to make sure everything was satisfactory! Would stay here again!

The Kahalani Complex sits perfectly in the center of Kauai, in terms of heading north or south and west. Kate was very prompt with her communication and answered my questions promptly, cannot ask for more than that from a property manager. The unit has a very nice view and lanai, was neat and tidy, and everything we needed for some home cooked meals as well. I’d surely come back again! Sam

April 2022
This condo was perfect for our Kauai vacation. It is centrally located for exploring Kauai both North and South. The condo was clean and comfortable in a quiet area...except for the ever present roosters. Though we did not spend much time at the condo, there is a swimming pool, BBQs and a laundry room.

The owners have really stocked this place well. It was very comfortable with a nice big deck with lounge chairs for the morning sun! We love the walking trail and park location. Not the best if you wanted to walk to stores and shops, but perfect for a quiet getaway.

September 2021
Central location to see both the North and South shores. Nice quiet complex off the main road with great view from the unit [inside and out] You can't swim in front of complex but you can walk to Lydgate beach along the bike path. Fans were more than sufficient to cool off unit after being locked up for the day. The kitchen is well stocked - no need to do dishes after every meal because there aren't enough dishes or utensils. Also don't need to throw out leftovers because there are plenty of plastic containers to use. There were towels, chairs and a cooler for the beach. We appreciated the choice of multiple pillow sizes, nightlights in bathroom and LR, and flashlight left by the bed. Parts of the unit seem a little dated but it appears it's slowly getting redone. We would rather get a great deal than complain about no granite countertop. Kate is attentive to the needs of her renters. We would rent this condo again.

This condo is located on the very center section of the Highway around Kaua'i. Very close to the airport in Lihue as well. Great view of the beach from the lanai. The complex is also in the center of Lydgate Park which is one of the easiest places for beginners to snorkel.

Photos for this property accurately show very nice grounds and pool, but the unit we rented did not live up to the pictures we were shown. Built in 1975 (per Redfin) and obviously never renovated, Unit #215 of is very old and tired. The problems we saw include: - light switches masking-taped over so they cannot be used, including the one for the garbage disposal that emitted the smell of rotting food - a very uncomfortable bed - trade winds did not make up for a lack of A/C as claimed in the listing - a board under the couch cushions to keep it from sagging. - no grab bars in the bath - We also had clothing stolen from the laundry room. We should have complained right away, but we thought we could put up with a few failings. Besides, it would be a hassle to move, expensive to rent another place and a refund was unlikely. So, we remained silent. However, we found more problems every day, and by the 7th day, it became unbearable, and we just had to go, despite the inconvenience and cost. The inconsistencies between what we were sold and what we got warrant honest disclosure to warn prospective guests. It does have a great view, but this unit is not what we were led to expect. I would NOT stay at this property again.

Conveniently located to allow for easy access to literally everything the island has to offer. The condo is fully equipped to fulfill every need. A relaxing stay to say the least. And that view!! The owner is incredibly accommodating and made traveling a breeze. Will no doubt return.

As I am preparing for my 2018 visit to Kaha Lani 215, I realized I did not write a review for my last stay in July of 2017. My family and I stayed a month in Kate's condo and enjoyed the beautiful view from the lanai. The unit was nice, and very clean. When we walked through the door we were welcomed by a lovely bouquet of hawaiian flowers. The couple who Kate hires to take care of the condo cut them from their own garden. The condo was almost always filled with a pleasant ocean breeze and the fans helped when the trade winds were stopped. The kitchen filled all of our cooking needs as my husband and I love to experiment with new recipies. The condo was suprisingly spacious for four people. Though it only sleeps two in the king bed, the condo can fit four people, two on a pull out sofa bed in the living room. Kate was very accommodating and responsive throughout our trip. If we were in need of something she would call upon the nice couple who cared for the condo. The location of the condo is absoultely perfect. We took advantage of the paved ocean walkway, rented bikes and safely rode for miles. Thank you Kate for an amazing stay! We are excited to return.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The condo was clean, nicely supplied, everything worked well and the bed was super comfortable. The location offered a quiet environment and it was conveniently located midpoint for exploring the island. It is a 1970's built condo that has been refreshed, not fully remodeled and has a nice ocean view. It was quite comfortable for 2 people and ideal for a long term stay. The location was between two Safeway's, so whichever direction you would travel, a stop for groceries was convenient. It was ideal for taking walks along and on the beach both directions. We would stay there again!

Having stayed at Kaha Lani a number of times, I've always felt like it's been one of those "hidden gems" we found. And that's exactly what the rental car counter clerk called it when I picked up my car this year. Having been coming to the island for some 30 years now, I know the properties and areas pretty well, and I can say that Kaha Lani is my favorite. It's a quiet condo resort with beautiful grounds and understated ambiance. And Kate's unit 215 is perfect, especially for long-term renters like myself. She manages the rentals herself, and is very quick to respond to email. Her long-time on-island caretakers, Richard and Barbara, are lovely, personable people who will help with any issues you may have. Richard even delivers a beautiful flower arrangement from his two-acre garden! Because Kate handles reservations herself, her prices reflect that and she does not charge all those service fees, etc. that so many other units do. The million-dollar view from her oceanview unit is wide and breathtaking. And the rolling surf can be heard night and day. The second story is nice because while it's at the top of its building, it's not too far up while toting your grocery bags. But it gives you an added perspective with the view. Just perfect! It is front and center of the three units in the building and so has the best view. The condo is very homey and welcoming. Personally, I don't need granite counters to enjoy my month in Kauai, so I feel right at home here with the rattan and hawaiian prints. The trade winds keep the condo cool and room fans help when the trades are down. The location is perfect for sightseeing either north to Princeville or south to Poipu. You CAN sleep four in this unit, but it might be better for a family than for two adult couples, as the sofa bed is in the living room; and sofa beds are notoriously uncomfortable. All in all I have thoroughly enjoyed my month here and am already booked for next year. The only downside I believe is it's WAY too close to the golf course!! My husband spent way too much time and money there this year! Mahalo, Kate. See you next year. Kathy

This condo greatly exceeded our expectations and provided the perfect setting for our first trip to Kauai. The condo is spacious with all the amenities you need to feel at home. The breezes through the condo are wonderful and refreshing at all times of the day. We enjoyed breakfast on the lanai every day with a beautiful ocean view and some colorful feathered friends stopping by time to time. We also took advantage of the full kitchen and the gas grill (right across the parking lot from the door) for a few home cooked meals during our stay. The location is ideal to relax by the beach or to venture out and explore the entire island. We enjoyed the convenience of the nearby waterfalls, Wailua River valley, and shops and restaurants in and around Kapaa, but it was just as convenient to head to the north, south or west side of the island for a hike or tour in the morning and be back with plenty of time to get showered and head out to dinner. On days where you don't want to get in the car you can just stroll down the serene walking/biking path along the beach that goes up to Lydgate Park which is great for swimming and snorkeling. I've recommended this condo to all my family members for their visits to Kauai and look forward to our next stay there when we return.

September 2016
My husband and I stayed in this lovely condo the first week of September and had an absolutely amazing time! The location is so wonderful - great walks to Lidgate beach and the Wailua river mouth, easy drive to two waterfalls close by and the beautiful Wailua River Valley. You can't beat the east side for easy access to both the north and south shores - it's really right in between them. We loved the proximity of Kapaa as well - we found it to be the more "real" towns on the island (not a lot of the Disney-esque, resort heavy factor of Poipu or Princeville). If you're looking for a peaceful, quiet getaway in a lovely condo with everything you could need (especially in the kitchen!) look no further! We are already planning a return trip next year!

Do you like to have breakfast with birds watching you, on your private lani. The red -crested cardinal name Hector came every morning. As a birder I thought that was great. Oh yes the condo is better than great. Everything you need is there and nice and clean. There is a walk/bike path right out side of the property goes on for about 3 miles. We walked it each morning. Just a perfect way to start each day with the palm trees and ocean on either side. The location is wonderful for our day trips. One day north side, one day to the south side of the island. Don't miss Po’ipu beach on the south east side of island wonderful. Took a helicopter ride, once in a life time experience well worth the money. Costco is on the island $5 chicken goes a long way for dinners. The prices are the same as home. All the grocery store are much more expensive. Gas at Costco which is close to the airport is 75 cents cheaper.. We went to 3 island this trip and Kauai is our favorite. No huge resorts or high risers, less people and better beaches. I would recommend Kate's condo to all my family and friends. Thanks so much for sharing your place. Sally and Giovanni Clearwater Fl.

This was our second trip to Kauai and hopefully will return again next year! We stayed at this complex both times, different condos. Condo was comfortable/clean and great views and location. Condo small but it was just the 2 of us so it was fine! This location is central to most anything you would want to do on the island. Bed was comfortable and owner was very responsive and helpful! Condo does not have a/c but you do not need it-tradewinds will keep everything very comfortable. Walked every morning also path and was greeted by the cats and roosters. Some may complain about the roosters waking them up,but I LOVED them! They make the island that much more special. Prob the only thing I would suggest for this condo is to have a small cooler for the guests to use when going to beach. Would stay here again!! Great near by beach to snorkel in or just wade in and watch the fish swim around you! LOVE IT LOVE KAUAI

Our stay has been wonderful. Dining on the balcony looking over the Pacific has been a joy. Walking across the lawn to watch the sunrise has also been wonderful. The condo is comfortable and the location is excellent to access the rest of the island. I am pleased to recommend this to anyone.
