Well equipped condo. Across the street from the beach. Would stay there again.

This property was just a described on the listing. Excellent location with a beautiful ocean view. The property was very clean and cozy. They thought of everything from all kitchen utensils to boogie boards for playing in the ocean. Every morning my husband and I walked a few short steps across the street to enjoy our coffee on the beach. Best way to start each day. The only few things that would have made the stay a little better was if they had air conditioning in the unit. We would open the doors and the ocean’s breeze and the fans would help cool things down a bit but could get a little stuffy at times. Also some of the evenings could get a bit noisy from the locals hanging out across the street. I would say overall we had a great vacation and our stay at this property was fantastic.

location is excellent, condo was very nice, larger than other ones we have stayed at in same place. King size bed is a plus. more positive than negatives, negatives are just nit picks. would definitely stay again.

Wife said give it 5 stars so I did. That said, personally I found problems with the property. Minor but at the price they charge the place should be 100 percent working order. 1. Front door lock is loose. If you don't aggressively pull the door shut it does not lock. Twice my wife pulled the door shut and thought it was locked, it wasn't. 2. Screen door falls off rails. Was reported in October 2022 and is still unworkable. 3. Door to veranda has problems. It is very difficult to lock. Other than that it was a great stay.

We stayed here for four nights in mid January, 2024. Overall, the studio was as presented in the pictures and write up. It was clean and the kitchen was adequately stocked with dishes, pots/pans, etc. The other units are very quiet people.. I wish we had known the following before we booked or arrived so I am sharing four things about the property. First: The property is on Ali'i Drive right across from Magic Sands Beach. This is a busy place and there are cars stacked up there from early in the morning until late in the evening and some play loud boom boxes. Second: The property has no air conditioning. So you have to have the lanai doors and the front door and/or window open so that the fans and the cross breezes will cool things off. Loud noises/open doors/not as restful as one could desire. Third: The kitchen has VERY LITTLE to support food prep. Olive oil, soy sauce, salt and pepper were in the cupboard. No coffee or tea or other spices. So bring your own or plan to buy a lot at the grocery store. The bathroom had a tiny bar of hotel soap. No shampoo or body wash. The garden out front is okay and would be a nice place to sit but there is nothing comfortable to sit ON. A few comfortable chairs is typical on an lanai but not found on this one. I hope this does not sound too picky. We stay in a lot of rentals and then one seemed less equipped than what we usually see.

The location is great. The condo has major issues. It appears there has been a leak from the upper unit by the front door causing the popcorn ceiling to bubble in multiple places. The leak continues into the bathroom where the drywall is cracked and looks to be painted over. I reported this to the management. Only one side of the screen door functions properly. One burner on the stove doesn't work. And be aware, the dishes in the cabinets were left dirty for us. Whoever used them last does not know how to do dishes and nobody double checks for cleanliness. Also, only 2 rolls of toilet paper provided for 9 nights of renting. I was told to go buy our own, but upon asking again, they did bring 2 more rolls after a second request the next day. The shower drained extremely slowly so you are standing in water. And cobwebs on the ceiling. I would not recommend this unit.

I literally can’t say enough good things about this place. Your back patio faces the water, where you can enjoy the sounds of the ocean at any and all times. You do hear the lifeguard during life guarding hours, but we thought they were very fun to listen to! There is a communal grilling spot if you would like to grill, which is by the parking spaces. The spots are a little tight but doable. They have a washer and dryer! It is $2 per load. We loved having access to that. The kitchen and bathroom are absolutely massive. So comfortable for being able to spread out and feel at home. There are very clear instructions everywhere including a book of details and also local recommendations. I’m so happy we picked this condo to stay in, and I would 100% recommend you do too!

The location In regard’s to the beach and restaurants was great. My only criticism is that you don’t make it clear that there is no air Conditioning and the condo gets really warm. You did have five fans for us to use but you should be more clearl on that. Also for the price may I suggest you upgrade the toilet paper and paper Towels along with the dish soap

We enjoyed our stay at this condo. The location was great, you can hear the ocean as you sleep. There is a farm next door and you hear the goats throughout the day, which we thought was hilarious. It was cleaner than I expected, I usually have to wipe things down when I stay places, but this space was cleaned really well. Only complaint, the door sticks and you have to kick it to get in, and slam it to close the door.

The listing needs to be updated to remove the dishwasher since there isn't one. If you're planning to do a lot of cooking find another place as the heat from the oven/stove top vents into the room, which makes this place with no A/C even hotter. We kept the fans going the whole time which was noisy. Manager was responsive in replacing missing slats on the window louvre but the repairman didn't have time to snake the slow shower drain which was filling up. Best part is the location right across the street from a great beach.

My stay here was great. Easy access to downtown Kona. Right across from the most beautiful sunset. Would stay here again.

The pictures make this rental seem much nicer than it is. It’s all in the camera angles. There is no AC, and the afternoon sun is unavoidable. The ‘curtains’ don’t have all the slats, so they don’t fully cover the window. It is on a very busy street, Ali’i drive. By noon it is so hot, but there is no AC, SO you have to leave all the windows open and have all the fans turned on, and then it is so loud from all the traffic. People park their vehicles across the street and stay there for several days surfing. The beach itself disappears in the winter time, and is really only good for surfing. Not Good for swimming, especially not good for children. The shower drain does not drain completely and backs up while you are taking even a short shower. I was very disappointed in the price I paid to stay at this place. I would give it a two star, but it was clean. Washer dryer on site, but you have to download an app in order to operate them and pay with the app.

I want to say thank you to the property manager who helped me one night when I got confused about the number of my condo. The furniture is very nice. The TV set is on a swivel on the wall and can be seen from everywhere in the condo I would definitely stay here again. There is street noise from the cars during the day, but you can still hear the ocean waves. I love listening to the ocean all night long! The kitchen is very well stocked.

We've been to the big island numerous times, but spent more time in the water this time because if the location. The condo is small and stuffy and could really use AC but other than that, we loved it!

Everything was simple and as stated on the web site.

March 2022
The location was right across the street from a beautiful beach which was perfect. The description saying the unit was newly updated is a stretch. The unit was dated and needs a facelift. We were also put off by the property managements check out instructions stating to wash beach towels and any bath towels used over one for each person. The cleaning fee normally covers this. I did not appreciate having to spend my time while on vacation washing towels. Also there was no AC and with the unit being on the bottom floor we were not comfortable leaving the sliding glass door open at night as someone could easily get in while we were sleeping. It was hot and the fans provided did not help…and there was someone camping on the property behind the building, which was also contributed to our concern about keeping the door open at night.

It’s a converted motel. Painted cinder block walls, about 3 miles south of Kona. Positives: No bugs, cooler provided, basic kitchen utensils provided, free parking, king-sized bed, across street from beach park. Negatives: check-in not smooth, wall cracks above toilet and shower tile, took two days to fix clogged shower drain, loud music from beach park some nights, busy street in front of property, view to ocean blocked by vegetation, vertical blinds missing slats, kitchen faucet locked in place, lighting and decor a bit dated, fans dusty, and doesn’t feel private. Overall felt like it was not a good value for us. Would not return.

This property was in a perfect location for going to the beach, or taking a walk, close to places to eat. Perfect spot! The unit was clean and had all the items we needed.

The unit couldn’t be better located! Across the street from white sands and a few minutes from town and other great locations. A couple of things need replacement. The big table on the lanai is rusted and old, the trash can in the kitchen doesn’t stay closed, the latch is broken. But overall it’s a very nice unit and comfortable. Good kitchen and comfy king size bed.

Very nice studio. Comfortable bed, well-equipped kitchen, efficient bathroom, nice furniture in the living room. We had a relaxing time, listening to the waves at night, getting up and walking across the street to our favorite beach. Allii Drive is busy during the day, and music can get a bit loud after dark. However, you can ignore this, or close the doors for a bit. These issues are far outweighed by the location. Close parking right behind the back door, sliding glass doors out the front toward the ocean. It was a bit above our budget, but provided a super relaxing, enjoyable stay. We will consider it one our top choices next time we travel to the Big Island.

We stayed for 2 weeks at Magic Sands, and a few things would have been helpful... A sharp knife! I'm convinced that one does not exist in Hawaii! Steaknives! More than 1 wash cloth Fans that work! The property itself worked well for us, but thought the back grounds could use some attention to make it as attractive as the front. When we did call the property manager they responded in a very timely fashion, and was very courteous.

We stayed at this property for almost 2 weeks while in Hawaii for a family wedding. It was well located. It was within walking distance of restaurants, beaches, and it even has a bike share right next to it. Parking is not an issue. The place is clean, located on the lower level next to washer and dryer and walk out to the beach by just crossing one road. The owner leaves lots of fans to keep the place cool. Full kitchen with lots of cooking utilities. We definitely plan to stay here again on our next visit.
