Charming Ma’alaea Banyans 202 is a fully equipped condominium located in a serene resort with 180-degree ocean views. The bedroom boasts a queen-sized bed while the living room has a sofa sleeper, making it an ideal accommodation for up to four guests. Whether you are in the mood to whip up a quick snack or a full-course meal, the full kitchen has everything you need to bring out your culinary skills. The lanai offers sweeping views of the ocean and is the perfect spot to enjoy your meals. Cleanliness is paramount, and the in-unit washer and dryer ensure that you are always fresh and ready to go.

Cooling off from the tropical heat is a breeze with the ceiling fans and air conditioning in the living room, and guests can stay entertained with the flat-screen TV, complimentary cable, high-speed internet, and free Wi-Fi. The resort is a tempting option, with its tropical grounds, pool, spa, and BBQ/picnic area offering plenty of opportunities for relaxation. Take in the mesmerizing views of the sunrise, sunset, and moonlight over the bay, the neighboring islands, the Kihei coastline, or Mount Haleakala. During the winter months (November-April), watch as the majestic humpback whales return to these protected waters to birth their calves.

Exploring on foot is an excellent option for those who plan to spend a day, or more, at the resort. Ma’alaea Harbor, just a short walk away, has a bustling harbor offering exciting excursions, whale-watching tours, snorkeling trips, and sunset sails. The harbor is also home to various shops, restaurants, the Maui Aquarium, and a family-fun center with mini-golf and more. To the east lies Sugar Beach, a couple of miles of sandy serenity leading to North Kihei, where you can find some delicious eats and treats. Ma’alaea is located at the base of the isthmus that divides east and west Maui, providing easy access to various Maui attractions with low commute times (15 to 40 minutes) to Kihei, Wailea, Makena, Lahaina, Kaanapali, Kahului, Paia, and Makawao. Haleakala Summit and Hana are further, but well worth the drive. Whether you choose to stay local or venture forth, it's a win-win situation! With free parking, one vehicle per unit, parking is also not a problem.

This condo is right along the ocean, so the view is wonderful. There is a small lanai with a table we sat at and had breakfast and at night I would leave the window open to listen to the waves. It is an easy 15 minute drive to Kihei. the carpets could use a cleaning, but everything else was clean and also a safe area with pleasant people to say hello to. We would stay here again.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were 4 adults, looking forward to enjoy the room and the island, we arrived with our groceries ready to get some food but found the table only has 3 chairs. We also realized afterwards, the kitchen bar counter but has no chairs to eat at either, plus was extremely high. We had issues with the TV which was resolved but was a bit disappointing due to bad weather news we needed to know about, since there was flooding occurring and road closures. The furniture was well worn and really should be replaced. The worst was shower did not drip, but actually ran. It felt like water torture while trying to sleep at night, even with the door closed to the bathroom. The manager, did note the issue but due to the building plumbing, the entire place had to have water turned off to fix the problem. With the drought issues in Maui, I had thought that fixing the running water would have been a priority. We ended up leaving a day early since the room was so depressing. But the view was one of the best from the lanai, that is the only saving grace of this place. The manager, Rosemary did respond quickly to our issues so that helped somewhat.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo was in good shape and had a wonderful view. It was centrally located on Maui, so everything was fairly close. It was also away from the crowds, so you had plenty of privacy. The sea turtles would come ashore daily just outside the condo. There was also a nice beach with a short 5-minute walk. It was a very pleasant experience.

We love Maalaea, and this was a clean & functional condo for our family's stay (especially at the reasonable price point). Loved the view and access to pool+beach!

I have stayed at so many vrobs and this by far is one of the best. Thank you so much for letting us to your home to enjoy this spectacular view ❤️ Everything we needed was here including the much used beach chairs . It was so cool to see the turtles on the little beach out front as well .

We have stayed at Maalaea Banyans since 1990 in many of the condos. The views are outstanding, we love the location and walking on sugar beach. Unit 202 could use some updating, even just comfortable furniture would be great. The floors need a good scrubbing but over all the unit worked for our basic needs.

We have stayed at this condo complex over 20 times, location is the best. No better view than at the banyans. Price was reasonable for the location.

The place was in a nice location with a nice view. However the amenities were severely lacking. I didn't expect there to be much, but I was surprised that there wasn't really anything at all. For example, there is a coffee maker but no coffee grounds?? They leave little single use shampoo and conditioner and 1 small box of single use detergent. And by the way, they ask you to run the washing machine with all the towels before you leave, so that's where that box of detergent is going towards. There were like 4 random spices and seasoning that seemed like they were left behind by other guests, but there basics were not there. Would have been super happy with just salt pepper and oil! It seemed like they went out of their way to be cheap, and this really inconvenienced the stay. Who likes to wake up and find out there is no coffee? Honestly, how much does it cost to properly add this stuff. Maybe get a fixed shampoo dispenser and just refill it, or just leave a jar of cheap coffee grounds! Also they charged cleaning fees for each day. I don't get why they make us take out all the trash, and start washing towels for them! Maybe just buy a spare set of towels to swap out so you don't have to inconvenience your guests. Also the bed does not seem like it is being washed properly. It smelled of sweat. Perhaps they are only washing the sheets and not changing out the blankets?? Overall, it's a nice decently nice place in a nice location, but management just seems cheap and lazy. Could have easily been 5/5 if managed right, but I will have to rate 3/5.

Very disappointed. Everything smelled really bad from sheets to towels. My first stop on my vacation was to Walmart to buy laundry detergent and wash everything. The kids couldn’t use the couch bed for sleeping because there was just springs.

Management provisions and accommodations so that all guests’s needs are provided for fall short. While every place may get incredibly great reviews and some not so great. What’s more important is to see if management actually listens and makes progressive changes to improve and better the establishment. My concerns has also been expressed by other clients. And while management acknowledged a response to those guests’s reviews. The changes were never made thus is poor mark that they don’t care. I’ll explain the shortfall once I can express why I’m frustrated. While many people may visit Maui yearly. Others make take a lifetime (30 years) to get to Maui. Note that thousands of dollars are spent by people to fly to Hawaii (estimate in plane tickets for two ($2000-$2500 with seating upgrades and luggages). Plus $ for rental car. Then the cost staying at this establishment for a week $$$. There’s 80 rooms and while there’s perhaps some people living here. $$$ x 4 weeks x 80 rooms = a lot of money monthly. Think about us being on the plane for hours coming from across the world. And then to finally get to our room. And we find out like the other prior clients’s review of the place that we still have go out and buy: bathroom bathing soap!, hand soup!, tooth paste!, dish washing soap!, laundry detergent, salt and pepper for Christ sake!! Cooking oil!!! You were well informed that there would be two guest for a whole week and yet you leave only two rolls of toilet paper!! Do you honestly think that would have been suffice? I read the note that management left on the refrigerator. It read in brief, “…we know there will be food left over. Please feel free to leave it for the staff.” I understand it now. Management is hoping every guest buys the need bathroom toilet paper and leave the unused rolls for the next set of paying guest. Well, they’re right. I left a whole new set of four rolls. So no money out of their pockets. And left olive cooking oil. And left salt and pepper. And cases of clean water bottles. It’s not the dollar that I’m disappointed about. It’s the point of “you’re in the service business”. Imagine you going to a fancy steak house and then be serve your $500 steak meal only to be told you had to bring your own fork and steak knife!!! Little things such as this in regards to the lack of consideration of guest needs is the very reason I will NOT return to this place. No one on site

The condominium we stayed in was not stocked AT ALL. There was nothing in the kitchen as far as the basics except salt, pepper and oil. The beach items were slim. We had to go buy beach towels because there were none. There were not enough hangers to hang our clothes. We have rented several different units on Maui, and none were this poorly stocked.

This property is right on the edge of the ocean. The views of the sunrise were breathtaking. It’s very centrally located to everything on the island. The apartment was clean and comfortable. The company was lovely to deal with. They went out of their way to make sure I was content. My brother and his wife were staying in the building next door and often had someone parked in their assign spot so the people I rented from let me park the rental in their lot instead.

When we arrived the key was in the door not the lock box, they charge YOU if the key is lost. The A/c is only in the living room area, doesn’t cool down the bedroom in the back of the unit. The mattress is a rather thin and firm. With a little TLC this could be a great spot, it’s a great location with a wonderful view. The grounds are clean and lovely.

We (family of 4, w/ high teens) stayed there for 10 days mid September 2021. Pros: -Great ocean front view AND mountain view: Nice sound of waves, Sunrise time is awesome. You also see twinkling lights of Kihei at night. The deck is spacious. -Great location: Quick from/to OGG, and beyond. Located in the middle of both Honolua Bay and Ahihi-Kinau, the 2 best snorkeling spots far north and far south. -The room is clean, water drains well, air-conditioning works well, the epoch-making air-vent-adjusters are awesome. Beds are both large enough for all 4 of us (smaller Asians) -Free safer parking. Cons: Check-ins took half-hour. The provided key-code was wrong. The main contact closes at 4pm, though your check-in time starts at 4pm. So she is gone when you need her. Fortunately, the alternative contact was available, but expect a non-smooth check-in. Never hold your rest-room-needs before check-in. -The power breaker trips if you run the washer and dryer concurrently: You have to run either one at a time, which took us so long, and did not finish before the "quiet hours", which was a pain. -Poor starter supplies: Other condominiums we stayed before in Maui all had plenty left-overs for cooking oils, salt/peppers, paper towels, soy source, shampoos, etc, but this place had none, except soaps and TPs. I left them for the next guests, so I hope cleaning team won't take them. Same for beach-related items. Other places had many items, but they have none here. I bought and left boogie-board, beach mat, floating mat, etc, for the next guests, so I hope they stay there. It is pain to drive to Walmart only for that. -Extra sheets in the shelves smelled and unusable: Linens outside the drawers are OK, but the ones inside them do terribly. We could not use them. Other tips, just so you know: -Water filter might be handy to bring: Water in this area all tastes terrible: We had to buy gallons of water everyday for cooking, drinking, coffee, tea, making ice, etc. -The bedroom bed is hard, but the management can get you the extra sponge mat. The couch-bed, on the other hand, is too soft and bouncy, so you might want to ask them for something to make it firmer if staying longer with 4 ppl. -No stores nearby. You have to drive to Kihei for grocery and sometimes near the airport for beach related items. Over all, we enjoyed this place, I hope you do too.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our trip. The location was perfect- not too crowded but centrally located to many points of interested. We loved coming back to the unit to relax on the balcony to the beautiful views. I highly suggest walking to the beach at sunset, as we caught a glimpse of at least one turtle every night. We would love to come back again in the future.

First the bad. Unit was a bit dated although it had minimal upgrades. Was clean, so not bad. Air conditioning couldn’t reach bedroom. Fans were ineffective. If not for the ceiling fan, this would have been a major deal. Deck was OK, but not usable after about 730-8 in the morning due to direct sun and no circulation. Afternoon ok. Be prepared to buy your own shampoo, laundry soap, and TP. The rental agent only provides a starter pack. Never had to buy TP before. Jeesh!! The kitchen? No salt, pepper, coffee filters. Just pots, pans and dishes, silverware. Other unit my sister stayed in (310) was fully stocked with leftovers. Much better unit. Sharpest knife was like a butter knife. Forget slicing tomatoes, onion, or any vegetable. The neighborhood was quiet. Which means there is nothing there. A couple of block walk to a few places, but not a quaint village like Napilli or Khana. Very isolated, but not in a forest or in nature. Backs up to an abandoned farm. The good. Unit is reasonably priced. Right on the beach. Just as good as the $xxxx high prices locations. Grounds are well maintained. Daily work by crews. No bugs. Unit was very clean when we arrived. Good parking access. Right at the unit. The small business community has Beach Bums restaurant which is a nice place for a meal. $3 bloody marys in the morning! Small grocery store at beginning of road with a few essentials. Woman who runs store is extremely friendly. Maalaea is centrally located. 30 minutes to Wailea, Kahului, or Lahaina. Very nice! Recommendation? Good value (except buying your own TP) but not awesome.

My wife and I were looking for something ON the water with a great view, completely furnished, in a relatively quiet area -- and Ma'alaea Banyons fit the bill to a T! As soon as I walked in I was delighted the view matched the photos exactly. Parking is easy, the neighborhood is mellow, and the view of Haleakala across Ma'alaea Bay is spectacular. We encountered a minor snafu upon check-in (probably my fault) but the property manager got us squared away in no time at all. Another small problem with the TV... same result -- a very quick solution. Everything about our stay was fantastic. It's the first place we'll ask for when we return to Maui. Thank you!
