This unit is in a great location making it easy to access all the activities we wanted and close to convenient shopping. The grounds are beautiful, the complex very quiet and the pool quite large.
It was lovely to be able to sit on the lanai and hear the waves so close.
The unit itself was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. We were particularly pleased with the kitchen being so well stocked as we like to cook - and the barbecues by the pool were great as well. There was good bedding, pillows and extra towels.
It is, however, in need of some TLC in a few places (e.g. some peeling paint, curtains that had come off the track/wouldn’t close in the living room, a bathroom sink very slow to drain) and has older bathroom and kitchen fixtures/finishes. This is not uncommon in an older rental condo. It certainly didn’t interfere with our enjoyment of our vacation, but I mention it as these things might bother some.
Note the coin laundry, which is very close by the unit, now has a payment app. Unfortunately it can only be used on a US smart phone - so we had to collect up our quarters instead.

Loved the location of the property. Super close to the beach and restaurants in the area. Very walkable and only a couple minutes drive from other restaurants in the area. The main property has a pool and they look to be building a few outdoor bbqs near the pool so it’s only getting better!

The Kapa’a location was great (about halfway between Waimea and Hanalei). The only problem was the AC wasn’t working in the kid’s room, then it went out in our bedroom after the second night. The on-site property manager wasn’t able to help and so it was never fixed during our stay- thank goodness for ceiling fans. I would get assurances that the AC is in working order before checking in.

The location is perfect, on the east side, halfway between the north shore and the south shore. The unit has great views of the sea. Sunrises are spectacular. The beach right outside the unit is great with a calm area for little kids, and you don't have to drive anywhere. The unit itself is spacious but some of the finishes are off (laminate flooring gaps, door latches that are loose, paint lines are shaky in places). The appliances are older but worked fine. All in all a great place to stay on Kauai. Would definitely stay there again.

Here are the pros and cons of our stay at this condo…..
Pros….GREAT location! Can walk to the Coconut Marketplace and to the Lava Lava Beach Club. Beach is just steps away. Nice heated pool. Grounds of the complex are kept up and are very beautiful. Beautiful ocean view (although palm trees block some of it). Kitchen is stocked with all the essentials to cook. Beach chairs, snorkeling gear, boogie boards, coolers etc. are appreciated.
Cons…condo is a little dated and could some updates. We were a family of 4 and were only given 4 bath towels and 2 washcloths. More towels would be appreciated, or at least let your guests use the washer and dryer in the condo. There is a laundry facility downstairs but we never had enough quarters to use it. Hot water does not last long. After the first shower, the next 3 were with cool water. The air conditioners make a weird loud buzzing sound every couple of minutes. If I had to sleep with them on it would have kept me up. Internet does not work well at all, couldn’t watch anything on the tv that required streaming or use a laptop without losing connection.

Had such a great time at this condo. The location was great, very clean, and loved that it was nice and quiet. AC was a huge plus and I loved being on the top floor. Only negatives (which were minor) is that the palm trees blocked most of the view from the balcony and the master bath shower rarely got above luke warm. But again, this was trivial. We loved our time here and don’t want to go home! Highly recommend.

Upon entry it was obvious that the unit had not been cleaned in months. The kitchen counters were dirty and there were bread crumbs around the toaster.
In the first bedroom there was dust on the floor (not to mention the dust under the bed) and the toilet had not been cleaned in who knows how long.
The wifi was sketchy and worst of all I was looking forward to watching the baseball playoffs and maybe some football. Hah!

The unit was exactly as advertised. We’ve stayed in Lae Nani many times in other units, and this one is great. We’d definitely stay here again - especially in the summer, because the AC in the bedrooms was ideal. Thanks!

It's in a great location and we especially loved that one portion of the beach at this resort is a protected, calm, shallow cove where you can float around in calm water (also great for families with young children as the water in the cove is only a couple of feet deep). The pool is also really nice, the grounds are beautifully landscaped. The condo itself is just like the photos and nicely appointed with everything you could need. Steve, the owner, is friendly and responsive.
There are amazing sunrise views to the left of the resort (if you're facing the beach). I discovered there's a little trail near the protected beach area that can take you to the property next door where the best sunrise views are had. If you get up early, be sure to head over there at sunrise.
This condo complex is in a nice area, conveniently located near lots of restaurants and easy to get everywhere. I'd definitely stay at this condo again. Be sure to eat at Gaylord's. Best meal of our trip. We also loved Sam's Oceanview Cafe.

The location and the view of the ocean were excellent. It was great we had air conditioner, as other units didn’t. The few things did not enjoy was not able to use the washer and dryer within the condo. The condo can also use a few upgrades but overall it was a great experience!!! Thanks!!

Loved the location of this property as we roamed the island. All the supplies we needed for cooking, hanging at the beach and just hanging out in the room were supplied. Would highly recommend!

The property is just beautiful. The condo was well stocked with everything you need and the kitchen is really great. I really appreciated that it is right there on a small beach... I would caution people about swimming there. Rip tides are a thing right there, and the Wailua Bay can get windy and choppy out there. Long story short I had to be rescued by a surfer, it was a very scary experience and he told me that this happens all the time there. People just do not realize that it is not a calm shallow reef right there, and I am a really strong swimmer too. The property photo shows it as a calm perfectly still inlet. But currents and conditions change. So beware and be informed of advisories for the tides and currents. The big turtles play there and are wonderful to view and we were lucky enough to enjoy perfect weather. I loved that the place was quiet and not right above a noisy pool area. The property has thoughtfully placed the gorgeous pool area properly. We met some really nice people there. Lava Lava was great for dinner, just walk over there. Such a cool dinner right on the beach experience with lit tiki torches and live music. Kapaa town has quite a few things to do and good eateries super close by. The property owner provides excellent suggestions for places to try. We went to a Luau on an old sugar cane plantation, went to the Kauai Museum, and took a nice trip to the botanical gardens. I guess the only "negative" thing I would have to say is the 3 flights of stairs are a major consideration if you have any heavy luggage you will have to haul it up the stairs. Pack light, and if you have bad knees or can't handle stairs or had recent joint surgeries this may not be appropriate for you, as going in and out of the place (luggage or not) will require you to go up and down all the flights of stairs every time you go anywhere even taking the garbage out or to the beach, doing things for the day, then back out to dinner at night. You get the picture....... there is no elevator available for use in the building. The view is beautiful from the top floor as described and it is really pretty quiet as well which my sister and I appreciated.

You will not be disappointed if you chose this one!
All the things we loved:
Its right on the beach-you can access 2 beaches-one right in front, which has a small pond like area for little kids and one just down to the left past the pool which is larger and has a restaurant with great food.
The kitchen is fully stocked with appliances, cookware and even spices. Toaster, blender, microwave, drip coffee pot and coffee grinder. There is a dishwasher too.
Parking is easy and included.
He has a great collection of beach stuff you can borrow-chairs, toys, water shoes, beach bags, boogie boards, beach towels, etc.
the location is great-you are walking distance to several restaurants and the Safeway is just a 10 min drive up the road.
Shampoo, soap, etc. is provided as are a lot of towels.
The grounds, including the pool and grill area are very well kept. The laundry room is very close to the condo and you don't need quarters-you can pay via an app on your phone.
We loved this location-it was a great home base for exploring the whole island. The farter north you go on the island, the crazier the roads get, so I felt like if we stayed up there, we would not have done near as much exploring. But keep in mind you can't be in a hurry here :) Speed limits seemed to always be 25 MPH and a 20 mile trip can easily take over an hour.
We loved Kauai and hope to return next year and we would for sure stay here again.
Things that did not bother us, but may be an issue for some:
It's a 3rd floor walk up so if you cannot do stairs, this is not the place for you.
The master bed is very soft-I thought it was great but if you need a hard bed, this is not for you.
The laundry is not in unit. But the laundry room is super close and by using the app, your phone will tell you when the cycle is done, so you don't have to wonder if its time to put it in the dryer yet :) There is a $10 minimum to load money onto the app, so if you just need to do one load, go and get quarters.

Everything about this place was as advertised. The only drawback for us as senior citizens was hauling our luggage up the stairs. We knew there were going to be stairs, but we quickly learned to take everything with us every time we left so we didn’t have to go back up the stairs for it.

Unbelievably wonderful! The only negative was our condo had not been cleaned when we arrived at about 5pm. HOWEVER, the on island rep, Bernadette was quick to respond and had it all done by 7pm while we had dinner at Lava Lava, next door to the condo. We were also granted a later checkout so it really worked in our favor. The condo was clean with all the amenities and then some (boogie board, beach chairs, floaties, masks, snorkels, fins, beach shoes, beach umbrella….we only had to rent one mask/snorkel), the views were spectacular. The property was immaculately maintained, quiet and tropical plants/trees were abundant. Walking distance to multiple restaurants, bike and snorkel rentals, tourist shops, farmers market held twice a week at coconut market place. The fairly flat bike/walk path a short distance away was BEAUTIFUL, all along the coast but no shade so bring water, sunscreen, etc. We rented a car but if u r only staying a short time u really don’t need it. Airport about 15 minutes away. We loved it so much, we already booked a return trip. Don’t stay here if climbing stairs is difficult or if u detest roosters.

A very clean and well-kept property; pride of ownership is seen in the newer rugs, quality towels, and overall comfort. It's only a stroll to the beach or BBQ. An amazing property for families as it has a wide expansive lawn leading up to the sheltered beach. With quiet time after 10 p.m., it's serene in the evening with the sound of the waves. Thank you for a unique and beautiful experience.

We really enjoyed our time at this property. Condo was clean, kitchen well stocked (could use a cast iron skillet, but I’m nitpicking here), views as described, and the property grounds and pool were exceptional. The little boulder enclosed beach is perfect if you have small kids - we met many locals that told us this was the best spot on the island for little ones. Also, Kapaa is centrally located to explore all of Kauai.
I will say if you have small children (under 6) there are no toys or games for that age group in the condo; there are tons of beach toys which are great. Not a big deal as you don’t wanna spend a lot of time there anyways, just worth pointing out.
Overall we had a great stay - already planning to return!

Compliments to the owner on his flexibility during the pandemic! This property is nicer than advertised and the Coconut Coast is fabulous. The beach that borders the property is absolutely beautiful! The proximity of Lae Nani to dining, shopping and attractions is perfect. We rented a vehicle but rarely used it because most things are within walking distance. The owner, Steve, is great to work with. Hope to stay there again.

The Sandy Feet Retreat was perfect for our Kauai vacation. It is in a great location with easy access to beach, pool and town. The condo itself is well appointed, comfortable and super clean. The kitchen is outfitted as if someone lives there fulltime. The owners also provide beachwear such as chairs, coolers, flippers, etc which came in super handy. The view from the living room and deck is beautiful and relaxing.
The owner made the entire process super easy, especially as we booked right before the pandemic began and he was wonderful about keeping in touch until we were actually able to travel there.
The next time I return to Kauai, this would be my first choice to stay.

The unit was clean and had everything we needed. We had planned on renting snorkeling fins, but they even had those. The gardens are lush and beautifully maintained. The beach has a lovely area for little kids to swim safely. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay and for working with us when we had to postpone because of Covid.
