We enjoyed our first stay at HBR in Jeff’s condo (located in Heliconia-15). Jeff is a thoughtful host who has beautifully furnished this condo with comfortable furniture, old-Hawai’i inspired decor, and nice patio sets. The kitchen was well-equipped for cooking our own meals. The king size bed was firm and supportive, and there were lots of pillows and blankets available. The pros of being in Heliconia-15 are: close to parking lot, main building, pools, and grilling station. This unit is also is a top-floor, corner unit with views of the Na Pali mountains. The view of the jungle from the lanais was stunning. Despite all this, the cons of this location would prevent us from staying in Heliconia-15 again. It is immediately behind the main building where a massive HVAC system provides a constant thrumming sound. The flurry of golf carts coming to/from the service area adjacent to the HVAC meant that noise was ongoing and reduced the privacy of this unit. Finally, a single ramp provides level-entry to Heliconia-15 and this unit is the first one, so everyone coming to/from this block walks past this unit. The thumping from foot falls are audible in the bedroom while trying to sleep. We are still giving 5 stars because this is not within Jeff’s control, and every block in HBR has pros and cons - you just have to find what’s right for your family. Jeff is an amazing host and we would gladly stay with him again in another one of his properties. Mahalo!

This condo has it all! It truly felt like paradise and had ALL the comforts of home. The views from the deck are magnificent and mesmerizing with the lush tropical landscape and mountains and even a waterfall! The condo has only the finest quality furniture and decor which was beautiful. We cooked several meals and the kitchen was well equipped. We were able to relax which is a good thing as the bed and furnishings were comfortable and new.
HBR resort itself is very beautiful. It is well located and easy to park close by as I had some mobility issues and felt it was accessible and safe. We would definitely look forward to another stay at this condo if we return to Kauai and give it two thumbs up for anyone wanting a great place to stay! Mahalo Jeff for having a lovely VRBO to share on this beautiful island. We enjoyed our stay very much, can you tell? We only wish we could have stayed longer!

My family of 4 traveled to Kauai this past July. We could not have been more pleased with the property. The pictures do not do it justice. The condo itself was beautiful and had the most majestic view of the mountains and waterfalls. The resort amenities were spectacular. We only wish we would have stayed longer than 2 nights. Can’t recommend enough.

When I reserved this property it looked very nice, but I was still surprised upon arriving at what a spectacular property this is. The lodging was spacious and comfortable. Beautifully furnished. The bathrooms were lavishly supplied. The kitchen was supplied with anything you need to cook there. Nothing was spared. There was a washer/dryer. Two lanais, the one from the bedroom with lounges, the living room with a high top table with four chairs. Each morning we enjoyed coffee and drinks in the evening viewing rain forest, jagged misty mountains and waterfalls with birds singing wildly. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. Everything you need for the beach is provided.The resort was first class with a nice restaurant, spectacular pool and short, though steep, walk to the beach. It is a short drive to Hanalei and cafes and shops.
This place is fabulous and I cannot imagine a better place for a stay in Kauai.

This condo in Princeville was absolutely stunning! It was in the perfect location in the resort area and had an amazing view. We were so happy we chose to stay here. I think this was my favorite VRBO I have ever stayed in so far. We LOVED it!!!!!

This place is so beautiful! The condo has everything you might need for a perfect vacation. The unit is way more spacious than expected; with vaulted ceilings, two great sized bathrooms, and comfortable lanais. Jeff is a great host and always available if we had any questions about our stay or recommendations. The area is spectacular, pool is nearby, parking close by, and one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept on. Jeff has done it all to make this a stay we will never forget.

This is a beautiful, beautiful place to stay. We came to celebrate retirement and every day was wonderful. The condo was lovely, had everything we needed and Jeff is a great host. We spent a fair amount of time on the lanai enjoying the view of the mountain waterfalls, changing clouds and rainbows, etc. in addition to going down to the beach with the beach chairs and lounging. If you are a birdwatcher and can fit in some binoculars, it would be worth it as birds flit around in the tree tops off the lanai. In the bookcase, there is an interesting book on the history of Hanalei in addition to other helpful info about the area. In the evenings we watched the beautiful sunsets from the lawn area with the gas fire pit and also enjoyed a nice dinner and some tasty Lava Flows at the Happy Talk Lounge. Our Hawaii trip also took us to other islands, but this was by far the best and our favorite.

We were celebrating our 20 yrs wedding anniversary so we wanted some place special. This place exceeded all expectations. By far, the nicest place we’ve ever stayed in all our travels. The bed was so comfortable. My husband has a bad back so a comfy bed is top priority. The water pressure was excellent. The condo was super clean; We could walk around barefoot. The view was unreal. We could not believe our eyes. The mountains were spectacular. We could even see a waterfall coming down the mountains. The resort is lovely. The lava rock hot tub was beautiful. The beach was gorgeous and you can snorkel right off the beach. We didn’t travel to any other beach! The lava flows at Happy Talk bar and restaurant were delicious and the pizza at Wiki Pizza was a huge hit with our kids. The condo was perfect for our family of four. Two full bathrooms and a washer and dryer were such a bonus. The condo had such high quality furniture and finishes. The location was perfect, right by the pool and parking. We didn’t have to lug our suitcases up any flights of stairs. It truly was paradise. Less than a 10 min drive from the grocery store in Princeville and 15 min from Hanalei. Be sure to eat at Wake Up Delicious in Hanalei. The Kalua pork burrito and macadamia nut latte were amazing. The pull-out couch had a memory foam mattress! The high ceilings and AC really put this place over the top. It is perfection! This condo was perfect for hiking the Kalalau trail, and kayaking and snorkeling!

Jeff’s condo was comfortable and supremely located. Kids spent a ton of time in the pool which is super close. Short (but steep) walk down to the beautiful beach at the bottom of the hill. We loved having a beach cart and chairs available. Amazing sunsets from the pool!

Location was perfect.! We love Hanalei.!! Jeff the owner is a very nice normal guy that I would absolutely rent from again. He went out of his way to make my family and I feel welcome, he was reachable and just a really nice guy. The unit we stayed in felt like home. My wife had repeatedly said how cozy it felt and that there was everything we needed for a great stay! We had an awesome vacation.! Would go back!

The main restaurant at the resort has been closed for years. The
Pool has no swim up bar. The resort is basically an owner and timeshare location. The Vrbo of the unit is absolutely great. The resort it self needs a lot of upgrades to amenities.

If you can’t get water views the beautiful unobstructed jungle views provided by both balconies, which offer good privacy, of this condo are a stunning alternative. Condo is clean and very well appointed for all your needs. Bed is very comfy and slept well. Jeff is super communicative, helpful, and detail-oriented. The location of the resort offers you a more quiet/less touristy hub, which is great. Things to note about the resort itself : Be aware the building is just in front of the operations building’s so you may hear their ac compressor and staff golf carts coming in and out. Not a huge deal but be aware. But, good more private location if you don’t want to face the pool/tennis courts. Many of the facilities at the resort were closed (the store, the bigger restaurant was shut down and stacked with building materials, none of the bar/concessions were ever opened at the pool and you can’t bring down drinks from the upper bar.) The pool is pretty cold this time of year and so everyone was trying to use the one small hot tub, including lots of kids/teenagers so the pool was pretty much a bust for us. Happy hour time is the best time to get into the small bar restaurant- you may face hour + waiting times for dinner so make reservations. There is a small strip of lovely beach (much of it tree covered) you can access by walking down the hill, BUT there is a unfortunately huge construction project going on there for a neighboring hotel so you’ll be sitting right next to that - And the entire open beach area was full of construction crews and equipment for an entire day for clean up when we were there so that was a loss. But I definitely recommend going down before sunset in the evening (or early for sunrise) as it’s quiet and really lovely with calm waters. There are many other lovely beaches for more spacious daytime hangouts within short drives or bike rides so it’s easy to take advantage of those options. All in all HanaleiBay area is gorgeous and we enjoyed our time here.

The location of HBR is great for all the activities I was looking forward to in Kauai, which were hiking, surfing, and swimming/snorkeling. The Happy Talk Lounge was a great place to eat and get drinks while outdoors overlooking the property and Hanalei Bay. The room itself is in a great location for parking and roaming around the resort to the pool, hot tub, beach, fitness center, front desk, and Happy Talk Lounge. It also has an amazing view of the lush forest with the mountains in the background.

We loved this condo. The resort is lacking some amenities (guessing due to Covid), but was beautiful otherwise. The restaurant is way too small for the number of people on the property, and had about an hour wait each night. Nowhere to get beverages and take them to the pool as the pool bar is closed and the restaurants liquor license doesn’t allow for liquor to leave the restaurant. Also, plastic cups aren’t provided, so water at the pool was our only option. Condo was clean and bed was comfy. Mountain View was extraordinary. We were also very happy with all of the beach accessories/toys that were provided.

What a wonderful stay at this resort. The view from the patio is absolutely breathtaking with the mountains in the background. Very nice beach for laying in sun or anorkeling is just down the hill and you can walk for exercise or ring for a golf cart to take you and your things. Jeff was very responsive to any inquiries before and during stay and provided an abundance of helpful info.

My daughter and I enjoyed a peaceful stay here. It was close to the main buildings but isolated enough to get some peace and quiet. Parking was close if you walked behind the main buildings.
Resort staff was nice and Jeff let us know we could check in early, which was nice. The bed was comfortable and the rooms were big enough for us to spread out in our downtime.

Thankyou for everything Jeff!!! Staying in this condo is an amazing experience waking up to the roosters and mountain views with waterfalls after it rains. This condo is extremely well put together, furnished and stocked! When I return to Kauai - it will be back to this condo on one of the best resorts on this island!!! The property exceeded expectations. It was spacious and very clean with incredible views of the lush forest & mountains from both the bedroom and the main living area - we honestly could not get over the views - Stunning! The unit was fully stocked with everything you need from laundry detergent, beach supplies to cookware etc. The grocery is only a short drive away if you want to stock up on a few things. Located conveniently in the in the Hanalei Bay Resort with access to all of the amenities. Easy walk from the unit to the pool and dining and short drive into Princeville and Hanalei. The secluded & peaceful beach is about a 5 minute walk downhill (you can call for a ride back up the hill and they will come get you in a golf cart). The resort pool area is gorgeous and so relaxing. Communication with Jeff, the owner, was quick and informative. We wish we had stayed longer & will definitely rent this unit again when we return!

Jeff's property at the Hanalei Bay Resort made our Kauai vacation a memorable time; way too short, so we must come back soon. The beautiful beaches on the north shore of Kauai or the incredible balcony views at Jeff's property. I don't think I could pick one over the other. Enjoying the easy drive to Princeville from Lihue, breezing through the easy check in process with the friendly staff and then discovering Jeff's unit, came together and created a wonderful vacation. Our time at Hanalei gets an "A+."

This is my 5th trip to Kauai in the last 10 years and have grown to love spending half my trip in Poipu and half in Princeville/Hanalei. During our last two trips up north, we have stayed at Hanalei Bay Resort and I wouldn't have it any other way. The amenities (beach, pool, Happy Talk Lounge etc.) are situated in the most picturesque setting you will ever find. This condo in particular is private, clean, well equipped, and has an incredible view of the jungle. It's close to the parking lot which makes it super easy to haul luggage, groceries etc. Cannot WAIT to return to Kauai and will check first thing to see if this condo is available!

What a beautiful property, the pictures truly don't do it justice! The view from the balconies is spectacular. We also really appreciated the 2 bathrooms, the beach gear, cooler and bags. We used it all! My only complaint was that we did not stay longer. It is a super easy walk down to the beach. We saw SO many turtles, they were popping out of the water everywhere. Also relly enjoyed the pool. Jeff is hands down the nicest and most helpful owner I have ever rented from! Thank you Jeff for an amazing stay!!

We had an amazing time at 1537/38. This condo was incredibly clean and had everything we needed (kitchen, beach, etc). It was so relaxing spending time on the balconies that overlook the forest. We really enjoyed our time at the resort – awesome pool, beautiful sunset views, walking distance to the beach, Happy Talk Lounge. Jeff was an unbelievable host. Very quick to respond to any questions and incredibly accommodating. We can't wait to come back!

Our stay at the Kondra condo was nothing short of spectacular. Both rooms of the unit were pristine in condition and felt very home like. The kitchen was stocked with any utensil one could need and all of the appliances were in great shape. The views from the lanai are hard to beat, even from marked view points! The two full bathrooms were very nice to have and the showers were very pretty. We made use of the beach chairs and supplies that the Kondras provided and we were very happy to have them. We were in contact with Jeff prior to, during, and even after our trip. Jeff was incredibly kind and helpful during our trip. He offered suggestions for places to visit as well as advice on our plans. Jeff checked in a few times (which was much appreciated) to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. There is not one single improvement that could be made, it was just perfect. This unit is a true gem, and we will definitely be back.

We have stayed in many other units at HBR in the span of 26 years and this our favorite unit. New owners are incredibly conscientious with communication and amenities. They texted to check if anything was needed during our stay. Very accommodating and friendly. Couldn't have asked for a better host and a more gorgeous vacation location!

This property has everything you could need!! Amazing views off the porches, tennis/pools/restaurant/beach access at the resort, and the kitchen in unit was a huge plus for us. Jeff was very open and responsive if questions or issues arose. The AC unit was down in the bedroom during much of our stay and he was immediately on it to get it fixed (but it really wasn’t a big deal as fans and screen doors kept it nice and cool). Overall I wish we could've stayed longer (but it was all booked!!) and would love to stay here again.

The lanai is paradise here. The chairs on the lanai are very comfortable, and the entire atmosphere was beautiful and very relaxing. We loved staying here! The pool is huge and beautifully designed, the beach here is unbelievably beautiful, and the walk to the beach felt magical. I will stay here longer next time. This was the most relaxing place we stayed while in Kauai.

What a beautiful, peaceful, spacious, clean, well stocked, decorated and designed unit! My husband and I could not believe the quality, especially for the price. We had two lanais overlooking the mountains and laid in bed looking at the waterfalls. Every night we simply walked down to Pua Poa beach, which offers one of the best views of the sunset and then soaked in the jacuzzi under under the stars on our walk back up. We definitely felt surrounded and mesmerized by the beauty and romance of Kauai’s north shore!

The room and the views are even better than can be captured in the photos. Jeff is a great host and made sure we checked in okay and if we needed anything. All the furnishings, bathrooms, kitchen, flooring is in great shape and very clean.
Since the unit is within the resort, there were great amenities on the property. Mostly the awesome pool with waterfalls, spa, and swim up bar. They have two nice large outdoor gas grills, about 100 yards away, for cooking your own food if you enjoy grilling. Unfortunately the restaurant and Happy Talk Lounge were still closed. Plenty of places to relax and enjoy the views. The walk to the beach was easy, and the resort has a courtesy cart/shuttle that can pick you up if you don't want to walk back uphill, but it was easy, just pace yourself on the hill section. All the property staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed many meals on the lanai and the beautiful view of the lush forest and mountains. The check in was handled through the resort and although this was a private unit, you get access to the staff for any help.
We had several beach days at different area beaches and the unit had beach chairs, beach umbrella, soft side cooler, picnic cart, and many other swim/beach toys to make it easy to enjoy.
We would definitely stay here again!

We stayed on the North Shore and in this beautiful condo for just two nights, but had a wonderful stay. The condo was perfect for our family and had absolutely everything we could possibly need. Jeff was very accommodating and super helpful. We will definitely stay longer on the north shore on our next trip to Kauai.

We loved every moment of our stay at Jeff & Cheryl’s Hanalei Bay Resort condo! It was absolutely perfect and exceeded all of our expectations! It was impeccably clean, super comfy and included all the right amenities! Our favorite time was spent on the private lanai with a breathtaking Hanalei paradise view. We loved waking up with the birds and roosters at daybreak. From the tree-top view, we watched the Hanalei forest come to life! The resort is beautiful and the private beach is so peaceful and serene—especially at sunset! It was a wonderful blessing and we are looking forward to our future stays at this perfect piece of paradise! 🌴🌺🙌🏻

Our stay couldn’t have been better.
The property was perfect.
The pool area was nice and close, very clean and from our room had very easy access for our stroller.
The walk to the beach was fun. Our daughter loved walking through the jungle area. It was a short walk to a private beautiful beach.
The room was in a great location that did not have a lot of foot traffic. It was very clean and stocked with everything you will need. Beds were very comfortable, sofa beds (x2) were comfortable. All linens were top notch.
The space worked great for our family of 4.
Both outdoor decks faced towards the jungle which was beautiful to look at and it’s felt very private.
The Owner Jeff was very accommodating and made the entire process very easy.
There was even an entire beach set up including a wagon to bring everything down to the beach.
We absolutely loved this location.
We went on walks and runs daily through the foot path outside the resort. If your into exercise it’s a great walk to the princeville center..
Our other favorite town is Hanalei
Which is only about a 7-10min drive.
This will be the place we come to and stay year after year.
