This Sandpiper studio was totally perfect for my solo four night stay in Princeville. It was exactly as described and you can't beat the price. Easy check-in and out and I had no problem parking in the immediate lot. The basic amenities were all I needed and all in a setting of mountains and ocean with shops nearby. This home base for my North Kauai adventures was comfortable and I was in the hot tub every evening after amazing hikes including the Kalalau (Napali Coast) trail. I would definitely stay here again when I come back to the island - Kawal

Good pricing, nice neighborhood, room was clean. Perhaps i didnt read the devil in the details very well, but was a little disappointed that there were no laundery options either in the room nor in the neighborhood, nearest laundromat was at leat 30 minutes away. The parking is also dubious. You have to park in unmarked guest spots and not the reserved spaces for your room, so sometimes you have to park on the opposite side of the complex (due to spot-availability) which for a lot of luggage isnt great. Overall enjoyable and would ordinarily be an overall 5 star, but these were kinda notable inconveniences.

First, do not make the same mistake I did: don’t assume there’s A/C, there’s none. Only two standing fans which with windows opened at night will provide some ventilation. Upon arrival, floor cleanliness was a problem which the owner addressed promptly.
This rental is a very basic motel type room with microwave, coffee machine (drip), fridge (medium size w/ separate freezer), plates, glasses and a bit of silverware. Only sink available is the bathroom sink to do everything. Large freshly renovated shower and a small but inviting patio are to be noted. Beach chairs provided.
Two simple things to improve: welcome light outside near the door (hard to operate the lockbox in the dark…) and directions to the site trash/recycle containers.

When our adult kids joined us on vacation we didnt have enough comfortable space for them in our primary rental at another nearby resort. This place at Sandpiper Village was a perfect extra bedroom. Only a microwave and small fridge but it was perfect for our needs.

We were disappointed in how small the place was. It’s the size of a roadside motel room. I asked the owners to confirm that it’s 500 sq ft per their listing, and they did, but I would guess it’s closer to 200 square feet. At least that’s how it felt. Even counting the outside patio wouldn’t put it close to 500. It’s a small room with a shower and toilet and sink. The bed is of the kind you find in roadside motels that charge $40 - $50 per night. With the slider open and both fans going, you’ll still wake up from the trapped heat several times a night. This is not even a studio apartment. There’s not even a kitchenette. You’d have to wash your dishes in the bathroom sink. There’s a table, but you’d never want eat there after 7 am. It’s arm’s length from the floppy bed.
Despite all the security “measures” around the pool area and warning signs about constant video surveillance, a couple of creeps were in there partying one night and made us feel so uncomfortable when they slid into the jacuzzi and started taking about inappropriate topics in front of my child that we left and never returned. I reported this to the owners but never heard back other than a promise to share with Sandpiper HOA the two men I described. There’s really no ostensible security around the property.
In short, this is a bare bones room for travelers on the stringiest of budgets to the north shore. I wish we’d just paid more elsewhere or camped.

This property was perfect for our 8 day stay in Kauai. It is a basic room with a microwave, mini fridge, and coffee maker. Yet, it sufficed for all our needs. There are beach chairs, masks/snorkels, boogie boards, and even a cooler to utilize as well. Parking can be difficult at night as you do not have a designated spot. Also, there is no air conditioning so the room does get warm but there is a fan that works and helps during the night. This also means it’s hard to get towels, bathing suits, and other items dry when it humid outside. During our stay it was very humid.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would come back again.

Perfect location for enjoying all the best secluded beaches from kappa to the north. Nice place with everything we needed. We often stay in kappa but this location in Princeville has given us a new appreciation and desire to stay in the Princeville area. We would definitely stay here again.

There is no AC, and the weather was muggy, so sleeping was uncomfortable. Fans helped a little. Portable AC unit would be good. There was a coffee maker, filters, cream and sugar, but no coffee. The owner did not communicate with us at all. Check in instructions were strict. We were ordered to take out the trash and wash our dishes or we would be charged an extra fee. That should be part of the cleaning fee we pay. Parking is not guaranteed. If you don’t find a space close by, you have to park pretty far from the room. Location is quiet.

This unit is just right for a couples getaway. It’s clean, offers some beach supplies and the neighborhood is quiet. The hot plate comes in handy for small kine cooking. The community pool and hot tub were nice.
Vacationers, keep in mind that this unit is on the north shore. It’s a drive to get anywhere so definitely check traffic before heading out.
Suggestions for the owners: get a toaster and provide more bathroom and beach towels. Two of each is not enough.

She fell 2 nights ago on the sidewalk outside this condo. It was slippery and dark. She tore her knee Cap wide open and tore her maniskis badly. Now we cannot travel home as planned tonight. We had to cancel our flight, get another place to stay, extend our rental car and pay for new return tickets. I'm very very disappointed not to mention She cannot walk, use the bathroom, or do anything with much help.

This studio was perfect for our stay. We spent most of our time doing things around the island so it was a nice, quiet place to come back to. Only downside was the limited available parking near the unit but the other parking lot wasn't too far away. Would stay here again!

Not breezy, 1 fan that is dirty. No lock on screen door, and you are on busy road. Very scary.
No directions where the garbage dumpster is. Could use a map of where unit is.
Lights above sink need to be cleaned. No drawers to put your belongings. And tenants in above unit start making very load noise at 5:30 am. Fridge freezes everything.
But good location would do some changes to those things and would be an ok stay, has what you need.

This studio is perfect and ideal if you are traveling alone or with a partner. Finding a parking spot can be difficult at times, especially if you arrive back later in the evening, but it's not really that big of a deal.
The complex does have "quiet time" from 9p to 8a, and your neighbors may be quick to complain, but that was honestly the only downfall.
This area of the island is absolutely beautiful, there's a small shopping area right down the road, and you also have Queen's Bath which is extremely close and absolutely beautiful!
We would definitely stay here again. Communication with the host was phenomenal!

My wife and I stayed here March 8-15. Nice location. Nice and quiet condo complex. The room was clean and comfortable. We appreciated that the owners had beach equipment ( chairs, umbrellas, cooler, etc )for our use. We also made use of the pool , which is very well maintained. Although the large pedestal fan worked very well, an ac unit would be a worthwhile upgrade. I would consider renting this unit again, but not during one of the hotter months. Overall a very nice stay at a very reasonable price .

From inquiring about the property to checkout, no problem. Because of the Princeville Association quiet hours are quiet hours. Not a peep from our neighbors after 9pm. Studio also has a big shower, no squeezing in a tight space. All in all a great place to book.👍🏽

Overall this is an okay rental. However, we were quite upset with the cleanliness and lack of maintenance in the place. They had people come over 3x to fix leaking and broken lightbulbs, which were literally never fixed. We had to use a flashlight in the bathroom since the light was out for 2 weeks. There were lots of cockroaches in the place. The bed was comfortable and it was a large enough space, this could have been a 5 star if it was properly maintained. We'd highly recommend against long stays here.

This property is as described. However, there is a German cockroach infestation. These are not the outside roaches the comments talk about. There were full grown roaches, nymphs, and egg sacs throughout the studio, especially in the bathroom. We found an egg sac in the coffee maker and washed all dishes before and after using due to the visible soiled nature of the drawer they were in. We did as requested and took out trash multiple times daily. Parking is a challenge in the evening, but we were able to find a space before 7 pm each night.

1 week stay beginning of October. The location is not ideal for Kauai, but when you consider the price it is a minor inconvenience that was easy to forgive. It was an excellent home base to start from everyday and return to at night. We used the beach equipment that they provided every day and this is an excellent benefit. All told there really isn't anything negative to say about this rental, but you're kind of forced to think of how you could make a great experience even better.

For the price this accommodation was right. Small and no real kitchen. We stayed 8 nights and 9 days. The property wasn't fully supplied enough for our stay. I had asked for more toilet paper and was told that I had to supply my own after I used the one and a quarter rolls that were left. Bathroom door is not in best shape and drags on floor when trying to shut. Not the most upkept place but if just sleeping there it is enough.

Property is as expected. It’s a place to come and shower off after a long beach day. It is nothing fancy but it works. There are a lot of beach items on the porch. The shower is hot. The owner was easy to communicate with, there is a delay after 8:00p due difference in timezones. We had to leave early due to things outside of the owners control but she was very accommodating.

This place is great! The bed was comfy, the location perfect, and hosts were great too. We were worried about no AC, but it was no problem with windows open and fan running. The cooler provided and outside hose were extremely helpful. The place is more like a hotel room than apartment (meaning no real kitchen- a fridge (no freezer), microwave, and coffee pot.) I would highly recommend this place and hope to stay again!

This is a clean, small condo. For the price, it was a great stay. When in Kauai, we never plan on staying inside for too long! The shower was very nice and outdoor patio was a nice get away. The Sandpiper community is very well kept and quiet. The pool and hot tub area was very nice! If you are looking for luxury, this may not be the right stay. However, it is clean and has a lot of swimming and snorkeling gear, with cooler, and other amenities for a great beach day. Would recommend this stay.

Place is okay really. For the price it is decent.
It wasn’t the most clean but it was clean enough. Didn’t have an AC which was okay if you left windows open all day long. I would have added another fan in there just to keep the airflow going. Maybe a quieter fan than the one that’s available. The internet was easy to set up but it wasn’t the best. The cable is spotty. On our second night it kept going in and out and said it couldn’t find a signal. On our last night it didn’t work at all.
You will definitely need a car because it is really not close to anything except the pool unless you are into walking for miles. Also it says there are beach chairs but one is broken and the other one is halfway there. The neighborhood is nice and very ornate but it just not close to much. And good luck trying to find a place to eat without waiting for hours. We tried B’s kitchen. We waited 1.5
Hours before we were sat and the food wasn’t even good. Just get some protein and grill it on the grill by the pool if you have time. Hanalei is close by so you can try but again you might get stuck in traffic due to construction. There is a nice coffe place there called the Hanalei bread company. Kalypso and Hanalei Gourmet are also good to eat at. We tried the fancier restaurants but you had to make reservations days ahead it seems. I would prefer more communication from owner but c’est la vie. Mahalo for the stay.

We had a great experience... no-frills or luxury, but a comfortable, clean studio and fairly priced apartment in a wonderful and convenient neighborhood. Great place if you just want to rest your head for the night and get up and out early to take in the sights of the amazing island!
Make sure you try the poke at Food Land, and the hike down to Hideaway Beach is well worth the effort!

This was our first trip to Kauai and this condo was perfect for us. We knew we would be out adventuring all day and didn’t want to spend a ton on a place where we would just be sleeping. It was great, the bed was comfortable, and we were glad it had a fridge to store some food for packing a lunch. We loved that we didn’t have to rent an umbrella, chairs or snorkeling gear. The owners were super responsive and we highly recommend this place!

This property is in a really great location in Princeville. Quick in and out access for those who are active travelers just needing a comfortable place to sleep and a hot shower to clean up after a long day of island activities. It had everything we needed and the owners are more than accommodating. Felt very safe and secure. Very clean and lots of convenient items (chairs, cooler, umbrella, etc).

Perfect base camp for venturing to beaches, hiking & walking trails, coastal views and shopping. Super comfy bed (not too firm or soft) and spacious shower. Federico's nearby is a budget-friendly, tasty place to grab a bite on your way to/from another lovely destination.
