To begin I had sent a message to the owner, asking about previous reviews no response or follow up. We arrived at the place. The door was wide open. As we entered the place AC was off the place was pretty warm. I walked through and turned on both AC units around the floor, full of mold and mildew. AC units are not efficient in that place. In the description said it was renovated new furniture and flooring. That’s it. Walls were scraped up throughout the place, mold and mildew on all baseboards. The only thing going for it is the location. I informed the owner of the problems and heard nothing back. I am somebody that does not give bad reviews at all, but I just couldn’t give anyone the benefit of the doubt with any communication. I recommend to them they need as owners to go in the place and look at it. Beach chairs are severely rotted and one is very broken. Do not use. No instructions inside the home, home is bare minimum with kitchen supplies. If you’re willing to chance it, the microwave is still broke after three bad reviews. Definitely neglect to this place. Simple things could make this place… Fantastic.. But owners need to take more responsibility with this place. We only stayed two nights thank goodness.

We were unable to access the property because we did not receive the access code in a timely manner. The microwave oven did not work. The bathroom linens are in need of replacement. The bed creaked with any movement disturbing sleep. There was an odour emanating from the kitchen sink. The kitchen, living area were OK. Patio was pleasant. Generally the condo needs some attention.

Turtle Bay is a great location to access the beauty and joy of the North shore! I used to live on the North Shore, so I'm familiar with the wear and tear that takes place in a humid/island setting--totally normal. This property had some maintenance issues, the microwave doesn't work at all, the bed creaks every single time you move, and while it's as clean as you can expect on the North Shore, it was disappointing that some of these basic things have not been attended to (in apparently a long time--based on other reviews).

Unsure how this had negative reviews! Such a stunning property and home. Directions made it easy to find. A quick walk to the resort. We absolutely loved our stay. Would come back again. Microwave doesn’t work or really open if that is something you are hoping to use … we didn’t use but that would be the only “negative” .

Do NOT stay here. The unit is dirty and unsafe; musty, moldy and grimy, no amount of cleaning could make this place liveable! There was bugs, grime, mold, broken screens and closers; we slept on the threadbaren towels on top of the bed in our clothes after finding hair, flakes and who knows what else on the bedsheets. No smoke detectorr in the bedroom, there is a hook up but no alarm ( code violation?) and the microwave is flush against the fridge so unable to open and if you can it causes heat and electrical smell as it does not have room to vent (not to code). The host is just out to hustle money and does not have any interest in making the unit habitable or enjoyable for guests; she was patronizing and rude. This place should be condemned and bulldozed! I was unable to find the short term rental license number on the state site and the host did not reply when asked. I am hoping VRBO steps up and supports us to have this listing removed and refunded so no other travels have their vacations interrupted by dealing with this unit and host!
We left after one night, the host offered to meet us in the morning before we left to discuss but did not show up and continues to refuse a refund.. so frustrating this place is listed!!

TAKE MY ADVICE. DO NOT STAY HEREThe place was filthy and dangerousPower kept tripping & turning off lights would also flicker The fridge /freezer was covered in mould (sever health risk)Fridge had left over food from previous renters. No idea how old it was. Rental stated that the accommodation sleeps 4. However the sofa bed tiny and not a “bed” was like a park bench and my two little boys barely fit on there. No way an adult would fit. It was also dirty. bed linen was dirty and smelled. Pillows were stained. The bed had sand and hair in the sheets. Aircon in the bedroom was leaking water all over the power chord. washing machine and dryer did not work. There was mould and dirt all around the washer/dryer. The fire detectors/ smoke alarms had been removed from all rooms. (As far as I’m aware, smoke alarms are required by law)I tried contacted the host initially as we had trouble entering the rental. I also tried to call the host 5 times. Each time went through to voice mail. I finally got a hold of the host via text message, and after I voiced my concerns partially with the mould and power issues she replied with “I should have paid a lot more money” “I expected 5 star on a budget” to my response I just wanted a safe clean place to stay. She then replied with “well you should have done more research” and claims that her past guests loved staying there. Not according to the reviews. We had to leave and are now out of pocket 3000. I have photo proof of all.

Newly remodeled, perfect condition condo with one large bedroom, one large bathroom with bathtub and a living room with a sleeper sofa that looks out to the beautiful, famous Turtle Bay golf course. Also a large, gorgeous kitchen with granite countertops, equip with brand new stainless steel appliances and new hardwood floors as of August of 2017 Our condo is located on the putting green on the Turtle Bay Golf Course...You have the luxury of 24 hour security guards for extra protection of your personal items. This condo is a short 5-10 minute walk to breathtaking beaches where there is surfing and snorkeling...This condo is perfect for a luxury, upscale vacation at an extremely low price!" The unit was filthy, dusty, screens broken & extremely dirty with white flakes on the bedding, hair on the floors, cob webs in the corners & light fixtures and rat feces on the dishes in the cupboards. There wasn't even a tub where the listing said it did. The host was rude, would not listen, saying "I have 6 kids, I don't have time for your complaints!" and that I was "too picky" and that the unit was in fact "clean" and "amazing". She denied my refund even though I told her I could not stay there and left the unit after seeing the rat feces. She relisted the unit the very next morning at a higher price than what I paid. Realistically, great for the price for the location and stay, but washer dryer out of order and not previously communicated. Overall, if it wasn't for a little deception, I would have given a 5. We are realistic about location, price, and cleanliness
when it comes to a Hawai'i stay, because we're local expats.
I can overlook the broken screen, baby gecko's hunting with the spiders, crumbs under the couch, and whatnot. I can sterilize and clean with the community. I do have a problem with the washer and dryer being featured in the listing but not actually being functioning. I am glad we brought and used our own sheets and towels.
For the off peak pricing, and I would say it was still worth it as long as you lower your expectations and standards. It will be a little basic, old, and tacky (literally tacks holding up some stuff), but again, for the price and location, the value exists.
Just think of it as visiting your stoner college buddies house for a weekend.

Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the condo considering how it was described and pictured in the advertisement. The location of the unit was great and we felt safe in the area, however, the condo itself hasn’t been maintained and didn’t meet our expectations. There were multiple coachroaches found dead in the apartment and a roach ran over my feet when washing dishes. The bathroom cupboards were in disarray with only 1 roll of toilet paper left in the cupboard that had clearly been water damaged. Other cupboards had random items in them too. The washing machine smelt mouldy and we were not prepared to use it to wash our clothes. The pillow for the couch had no pillow cases and were flat. The main bed was hard too. When we went to use a towel from the bathroom shelf, plaster dust fell from the towel onto the floor. We were also asked to strip beds and put towels and sheets into the washer before leaving. This wouldn’t have been a problem if it was evident that time had been spent cleaning the apartment prior to our arrival. We were asked to remove shoes before entering the condo which we did but then noticed all the dust in our feet. Internet wasn’t plugged in when we arrived and we had continuous trouble gaining access to live TV. The condo was cheaper than other condos in the area however we would still have expected a little more for what we received.

Owners very friendly, nice condo. Back patio has pleasant view of trees and part of the golf course. I saw some chickens wandering on the golf course, some other pretty birds came by and were feeding in the grass. Very close to the beach, just a few minutes drive.

“Newly remodeled, perfect condition condo” is so laughable! “Deluxe, Spacious, Clean”— Nope! Seriously, DO NOT stay here! The description of this place is not accurate! It was truly the WORST we’ve ever seen and absolutely disgusting. I’m so shocked that the owners would think this place is okay! We’ve stayed at Turtlebay condos many times and have always had such a wonderful experience. Added two nights here to extend our stay. I quickly booked after seeing “8.0 Very Good” and should have read recent reviews, because oh how accurate they were! Filthy. Bugs all over (especially by sink-no garbage disposal), spiders, and ants all over the unit, even crawling on me in bed! Cobwebs, dust and debris everywhere, particularly on and around furniture. Hair and white flakes in sheets. Long black hair in the shower, clump by the toilet and on bathroom walls. No “dresser” but a storage box with bins. AC leaking water with large pool underneath with water damaged baseboards. Spider city around the ac and very loud right by your face at night. Dryer vent blows right into unit and stinks. Flat and clumpy pillows, does not sleep 4 maybe two small kids on a dirty and stained couch. Loud, can hear all the cars. Host was to send cleaners, but they never came. Offered only to refund cleaning fee if I promised to not write a negative review. What a joke. This condo needs an extensive deep clean and major effort to have it be what they list it as! I have pics and videos of proof I sent to VRBO.

There was hair all over the bed sheets and we had to change them. Spare sheets were old and had holes in them. Surfaces in the kitchen were dirty and gross. Standing was was on the bathroom floor. Giant red ants and spiders were all over the place. Walls in bedroom had stains on them. Condo needs to be fumigated and then painted. Felt like the place had never had a deep cleaning and was overall gross.

SCAM ALERT - I never leave reviews but this rental was awful. Where do I even begin.
1. It is FILTHY it needs a deep clean. Nothing looks like it has been touched in ages. There aren’t even real doors on most of the closets just curtains. The bathroom door is completely broken. It’s so DIRTY. I can not stress enough how gross it was.
2. The bugs! There are HUGE ants, spiders, and other bugs I don’t even know the name of. Terrifying. I had to actually buy bug spray because I was getting eaten up by the mosquitos at night in the bedroom. There is spider webs in the shower!!!
3. THE WINDOWS DO NOT CLOSE. AND the back door barely locks. While it’s a nice area it still feels extremely unsafe, because of this you can hear all the traffic on the street all night long and the birds!
4. The AC is a window unit and it makes the house super warm and humid.
5. The location is over half a mile to turtles bay beach. It’s not as close as advertised, takes over a 15 minute walk to the closest beach.
6. The towels smelled like sour mildew like they had not been washed. The washer and dryer smelled terrible. The cabinets are filled with random items just shoved in random places. Like FILLED TO THE BRIM, with misc. junk.
7. Overall this was shocking!!!! DO NOT STAY HERE.

We had a few issues with the parking gate code and electrics but the owner was easily contactable and resolved issue quickly.
Accommodation is ok, facilities are average, the sofa bed has a big dip on one side for example but being near the beach counterbalances these quirks. Overall it's reasonable for the area.

It was difficult to get information about using the property. We finally had to call to make contact.
The property was filthy, moldy, and insect-infested. The "sofa bed," which wasn't really a sofa bed, was stained and wet; the lamps were of poorest quality and broken. The location was NOT ideal, being adjacent to the intersection of Kamehameha hwy and the main entrance to the Turtle Bay Resort: very noisy. The air conditioning units were noisy and inefficient. What a disappointment! We will NEVER stay at this condo again!

Perfect spot on the North shore, I considered not leaving a 5 star review because when I reached out about my travel plans changing the owner stated there is no refund, even though it was more than two months notice, I was upset but made other arrangements to keep the dates, the posting does state there is no refunds so I shouldn’t negatively impact the review just because I didn’t read that part, so as long as you know that is the case this is a great place to rent. It was stocked well with what we needed and it was clean.

I liked being on the grounds of Turtle Bay Resort, that i had a reserved parking spot, condo had washer and dryer, beach chairs provided to use and the safety of the area.
I didn't like that the non-stick pans were old and eggs stuck to them badly, the big centipedes (3) inside the condo and that there was not a screen door and the patio door. Also, i was unable to watch tv, live or on any streaming network. When i tried it said "not connected." It might have been a user error (me) but it would be helpful to have instructions provided.

This condo was dirty and in poor condition. It was not properly equipped for rental. The sheets didn't fit the mattress and should be consigned to the rag bag. We had to request a pot to boil eggs and request light bulbs,
Which the owner wouldn't install). We had to request hand soap as the soap dispensers were filled with dish soap. We requested a bath mat for the slippery tub but the owner refused saying it was not advertised.
It is not on the golf course. The view out the back included the traffic and noise of the main highway. Louver windows were inoperable and the sliding door to the lanai had no screen. Consequently we had to keep the doors closed to keep bugs out. I would not recommend staying in this unit. I have stayed in several units in this complex and this one is by far the worst.

My husband and I finished the last 5 days of our Oahu trip on the north shore at this cool little condo! We loved the easy gated entry pass on my phone, on-site security, and that super close designated parking space. This first floor unit was on the edge of the complex so it was quiet and secluded. Great central location - a few minutes from tons of beaches, grocery stores, food trucks and resort amenities! Turtle bay did not dissapoint - grab snorkle gear because we swam with turtles every day, right in the public swimming area at the resort! Vanessa was so kind and took great care of us. We are already planning our return trip!!!

It was perfect for our little staycation, the condo was fully equipped with kitchen gear, golf set, beach chairs and mat and all the amenities needed for a great adventurous stay.
Location is perfect and we really enjoyed eating dinner at Leileis, the restaurant on the golf course, delicious food, great service and we have young ones, so running around on the putting greens before and after dinner was perfect.
However, we did have a problem with an infestation with ants, they were everywhere.. on the couch, countertops with nothing else on it, if you left some food out, it was covered in a matter of seconds. There were B52s flying cockroaches, luckily the kids didn’t realize how gross they really are- as we turned it into a game of batting with a slipper in mid air and on the wall.

Great size Condo in lovely position close to all aspects of the North Shore. Clean, comfy, great communication with the owner. Lovely walking trails close bye. Walking distance to Turtle Beach Resort Bar.
For us Aussies it just needs a kettle for a cuppa Tea and more wine and champagne glasses.

My husband and I just spent 21 glorious days at this condo! Between the soothing sound of the tropical birds in the morning, the geckos greeting us outside, (they bring us good luck), and the tropical breezes coming through (this is the tropics folks, no need for A/C), we knew we were on vacation! The check-in instructions were easy to figure out. There are large Smart TVs in the bedroom and living room. Vanessa replied quickly with a video on how to work the TV remote, as I am tech-needy:( The kitchen looked clean, new A/C units (didn't use), loved the cleaning supplies like broom and vacuum in the closet and the washer/dryer was a bonus! Loved how we can just walk out the unit onto the golf course walkway! All in all, this is a good unit at a great price. Thank you Vanessa!

If you're looking for a quick and simple getaway, this place does well. It did really well for my wife and I who only stayed two nights. We also only live about 20 minutes away, so we were familiar with the Turtle Bay Resort area.
The place itself was clean (except the microwave - we cleaned it! :)) Other's comments noted how the place was a little worn. We could see that, but it didn't cause any disruption.
I would say, the birds here can be loud and are going off even late at night. If you are a light sleeper, bring some ear plugs and turn on the AC unit to drown it out. The bed was super comfortable and easy to sleep on.
Communication with the host was very smooth. Everything was as she said it would be. She had told us in the instructions to NOT toss the comforter into the wash at the end of our stay. We forgot and ended up washing it. We messaged her about it and she was gracious and let us know it was all right.
All in all, I would highly recommend this place for a simple getaway!

We were so lucky to find this property! Just a story walk to the beach and incredible restaurants. I have been to Oahu a lot and is is my favorite location on the island. It's true country with the resort feel. The condo was very clean and had everything! The parking is right outside the condo which made loading and unloading really easy. The pool was beautiful too! Vanessa was very responsive and quickly all of my questions. Thank you Vanessa! Hope to be back soon!!! 🙏

We enjoyed our stay in this condo. The location was optimal for spending some time on the beach, and yet being able to access the rest of the island for exploration. We spent most of our time out of the condo exploring the island, and thus it served our needs well. The unit would benefit from extensive cleaning and a few updates, but the overall functionality and cleanliness was sufficient. The host was polite and readily available during the check-in process to ensure that we were able to access the unit. The pictures associated with the VRBO listing are somewhat misleading as to the exact location and condition of the unit. However, overall we were satisfied with our experience.

We had a little lack of communication with the owner over check in. We were given the address and a security code for the gate- that went well. After being buzzed in we arrived at the unit to realize we were not given instructions on how to access the unit itself. We attempted to call, text and message the owner with no response.
A security guard allowed us into the their office although stated they have no contact with the owner.
After more than an hour, we made a final attempt to reach the owner and were successful. She realized she had failed to send the remainder of the instructions (which she sent later that night). She gave us verbal instructions to get in and we were off and rolling.
The unit doesn’t appear to have a lot of “regular traffic” as it seemed like it’s been closed off for a while. A little stale smelling although a little bit of time with the door open and that seemed to go away.
The unit itself was just the right size, well taken care of and was in a great location. The shared pool was not very busy and close to the unit
Overall we would definitely rent again.

Such a nightmare. Received confirmation of rental from Verbo but never received check in info from owner. She could not be reached. Her voicemail was full. Took me 90 minutes on phone with 5 transfers before they got a hold of her and I got unit info Drove there and the unit was occupied! Called owner and she could not reach tenants at first. Told me to go eat at hotel bar and have a drink on her. She finally got tenants out and called cleaning for me If they had cleaned that morning for my arrival they would have known it was not vacant. She had no clearing arranged for my arrival and she said Vrbo had failed to inform her it was rented. Went to unit at 8 pm and cleaning women did not leave until 9 pm (midnight my time!) Vanessa only refunded me $50 for my dinner which didn’t even comer the cost. She refused to refund me partial payment for having to check in 5 hours late and spent hours on the phone trying to reach her then dealing with problems. Unit had no bath soap or wash cloths. Towels were badly stained. Stressful stay to say the least. Living room and kitchen are ok but bathroom needs to be redone. Bedroom just ok. Farthest unit from the beach and resort so you have to drive to beach parking lot unless you don’t mind carrying your beach chair on a long walk. No screen door on slider so bugs fly in.

Check in went smoothly, we arrived early due to flight change and Vanessa was very understanding. The condo was clean and she provided the basic necessities for our stay. We loved the location, it was central to all the activities. I would suggest a binder that gives information about the area, restaurants, and beaches. The futon is small and my 6’5 son was not comfortable. I suggest an air mattress. We enjoyed our stay!

Great condo right on the practice green. Easy access in and out. Short walk to the pool, beach and Turtle Bay amenities, minutes from the PCC, BYUH, Shark's Cove, Waimea Bay, fruit stands and food trucks. Clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for a perfect stay!

The location was great, but the property was infested with bugs including a large centipede. we left the property 3 hours after our arrival. No refund was offered.

Had to pay so much money for some place that was not fall on Google maps not everybody in Turtle Bay was helpful.. I was kind of dirty when we got in there...and we had to take care of our Own trash and laundry service!
But that kind of price you would think that they would have their own maid service to do that for us I did not pay that much money to do a service they shouldn't have it at a discount if we had to do that.... I will not Reserve from them again

If you are looking for a great place to stay in Turtle Bay, keep looking. We have never experienced a more filthy VRBO property in our history of renting places. It was absolutely filthy and run down. The way the property is advertised is completely false. It is not remodeled, clean or 3 minutes from the beach. From the mismatched old towels to the pilly sheets, the dirty kitchen and refrigerator full of old food, to the dirty floors and bathroom mats, junk= filled cupboards, and drawers, airconditioners down on the floor, dirty dishes and sour sponges, no soap or additional toilet paper....and more. Plus, the unit is at the intersections of the entry to the resort and the main highway and traffic noise all night long. The view from the condo is partially the golfcourse and the main road. Our recommendation is to stay clear of this place. It ruined our vacation!

I read a lot of negative reviews prior to staying in this unit and that kind of worried me. But once I opened the door, it was better than I expected. The unit was clean, cool and well maintained. The living room and dining room area was very spacious. The kitchen was very clean with a big fridge and lots of storage space. There was a tv in the room and in the living room which was very convenient. I was able to stream movies and shows whenever I wanted. The parking space is super close to the unit making for easy loading and unloading. The pool was very nice and relaxing. The only thing I would change is the mattress in the room (too hard) and the sofa sleeper in the living room. It’s a very comfortable sofa but way too small to sleep two (this unit says it sleeps 4). Besides that, enjoyed me stay for sure.

The property was nice and as pictured. Easy parking. It was so nice to be able to walk right out into the grass by the ocean. We saw some whales swimming by while we were there, which was a highlight. Would stay again.

We have been vacation rental owners for more than 30 years so we found it odd that many of the issues raised in recent and several past years reviews are still problematic. We didn't read all the views prior to booking. The unit does need TLC. Some things may not bother one set of guests but super noticeable to others. We'll mention just a few: you can hear the nearby road noise. Unit is ground floor so you could hear upper unit tenant . The bed/mattress was very firm-hard. A bit older tub/vanity. The two A/C units should have remote controls so you don't have to get on the floor to push buttons and a handyman should seal the openings around the units. Gecko poop is a problem. The Sliding Glass plastic door handle is broken and the door doesn't always lock well. The rental was decorated fairly nice. The parking space was close to the unit and a small pool nearby. We believe it would be great if the owners addressed some of the current and previous guests concerns to improve the property and the overall rental experience. It was self check in and out so we didn't get to meet any owner or manager (just text messages).

I have stayed in quite a few rentals over the years and have never left a less than positive review, but in this case it is warranted. It fulfilled the main requirement of beds to sleep in, but it was not ‘perfect’ ‘luxury’ or ‘upscale’ as stated in the ad. We weren’t looking for anything fancy, but this is false advertising. Note it was remodeled in 2015 which is 7 long years ago in the life of a VRBO.
I’m not a clean freak, but there was dust under the bed, on top of the baseboards and a thick layer behind the curtain in the bedroom on the day we arrived. The walls AND ceiling in the bathroom need to be cleaned. The dryer vents into the closet which makes it hot and steamy in the condo and probably isn’t to code. The front screen door is lightweight and doesn’t lock. there’s no screen door at all on the patio, so air flow isn’t great. We prefer the fresh air and breeze, and did not attempt the AC. A box fan and a couple new screen doors would be a massive improvement.
Like other guests, we also found several cockroaches. I have no doubt they are plentiful in the tropics, but have never encountered them in any other condo. The only living room light didn’t work. The second bed, a futon in the living room, was basically a twin. My 14 year old fit, but two teens or adults would not. Advertising this as sleeping 4 is disingenuous. Invest in a full size pull out to truly sleep 4!
A few cons that were out of the owners control, but also detracted from our experience: the parking lot was closed for repaving 6 of our 10 days and 2 of the 3 small pools were closed intermittently throughout our stay. This unit is right next to the Turtle Bay entry drive so there is some road noise.
There were also some good things. This is a good location to explore the North Shore from. The food cart pod in Kahuku was super convenient and had a good variety, also close to Ted’s and the Sunrise Shack the other direction. Kawela Bay was the best beach we visited on the north shore. The condo complex was safe (we left surfboards on the car most nights) and there were no roosters! The beds are firm but were great for us. And no 30 day minimum.
Our overall impression is that this place is superficially nice but in need of a deep clean, some maintenance and some investment.

We really enjoyed ourselves @ this condo. We had plenty of room and it was nice! It was in a great area for us. The only downside is that the small a/c did not cool the condo down too much and was very old and noisy. Unfortunately, several roaches wanted to join us in the condo which was rather gross! We were also w/o body soap for the first two days until the host left some for us.

Filthy. Two 30 year old AC units which didn't work set into two wall openings that were bigger then the units. No finishing framework to seal off the space between the units and the cutout. Roaches, lizards and rats had uninterrupted access to the space.. some what like living in a barn.
The wine glass had lip stick smudges all around the lip. The door handles to the cupboards were sticky. And the sheets were 100% polyester.
This is a scam. Don't pay to stay here.

After voicing our concerns to the owner, she advised us this is a very laidback stay so this may not be important to anyone other than us- but be aware they will NOT COMPENSATE you for any issues. Our bed broke on the first night, and a pipe burst on the 4th night of our stay, rendering us without restroom/shower/sinks for a night. Additionally, the futon they provide was barely large enough for our 8 and 5 yr old to share, the bedding has holes in it, they provide used condiments from previous guests, the hand soaps and detergent are watered down, and the vents and window screens are filled with bugs. The owners are kind and quick to respond and assist in any way they can but this was not the stay we had hoped for. It’s a great complex as our friends stayed in other condos during the same week but this one was the least expensive so we got what we paid for, I guess.

Turtle bay is an amazing property with a lot of various activities you can add to your vacation. The restaurants are top notch but expect to pay premium prices.the condo was located in a convenient location and very easy to find. We enjoyed watching large toads, lizards, and snails during out morning coffee on the patio.
