This is my second stay and will be booking for next year.
The location is perfect, close to everything Poipu has to offer. Loved seeing the turtles on the beach at sunset. Cocktails at Hyatt's SeaView Terrace always fun. Many hiking options out the condo door. Shopping, restaurants, beaches close by. Condo equipped w beach chairs, etc. Just the best!

We had such a lovely stay here ! Thank you Shari for an amazing backdrop to our Kauai stay for our 23rd anniversary! The condo was perfect for our family! Our mornings consisted of coffee on the upper lanai watching the turtles in the break below and our evenings were spent enjoying dinner on the lanai downstairs discussing our day well spent on the island. The condo is very well equipped with anything you may need, it is truly home. We loved having the beach mats for our beach adventures and the cooler for when our days went long exploring the island. The pool was a perfect place to unwind after a long day or just spend the entire day there splashing and laughing together. Definitely felt at home and our daughters loved having their own space to be in downstairs in the twin room suite. We’re already planning our next trip back!

An older unit but lovely property, with a great ocean view, and a short walking distance to the beach. New patio furniture (delivered during our stay). Ceiling fans and efficient floor fans for each of the 2 bedrooms. The owner was not in town but responsive.
Stop at Walmart on your way over, the owner "stopped doing(supplying ) the small shampoos and washing soaps about a year ago to eliminate waste. Guests usually bring their own toiletries for their stay." The supply of soaps ln the condo is based on the leftovers and good graces of the previous guest(s). This is a minor issue but an unexpected annoyance and expense.

The condo in Poipu Sands is the perfect location in Kauai! We were able to walk to the beach, enjoy the ocean view from several rooms and take on the cool breeze. Perfect places for families!

The condo was the perfect base for our Kauai vacation! Inside, the condo is beautiful and in great condition. It is as described with a lanai off the living room and another off of the upstairs master bedroom. Both have ocean views as shown in the pictures. The kitchen has everything you need and is well appointed for cooking, including actually sharp knives which are often lacking in rental condos. If there were any surprises, it was that the condo was more spacious than we expected. Master bedroom and bath were plenty spacious with a great shower. Downstairs bedroom connected to the second bath, which our teen daughter loved having as her own.
In terms of location, it was an ideal spot for us. Not only is shipswreck beach only a few minute walk from the condo, but there are also wonderful walking path and a great shoreline hiking trail you can walk to right from the door. One thing we had not fully appreciated is that the Grand Hyatt is literally next door to the condo complex. That was perfect for our family who do not like to stay in such big resorts, but like taking advantage of some of the amenities. And we did just that. Massage at the spa was excellent. We ate several meals at the Grand Hyatt restaurants which we enjoyed, and we attended the Luau, which we thought was pretty good (better than Luau we'd been to in the past). For golfers, Poipu Bay Golf course is just on the other side of the Grand Hyatt and a nice course. Poipu beach is also fairly close by, and Old Koloa town as well as other dining and shopping options are only a short drive away.
However, the most important thing for me to point out in this review, beyond the fact that the condo was great, is that Sheri is a fantastic host for the property. It turned out that the condo complex planned work and painting on the outside of the building for the time of our visit. She got in touch with us a week or so ahead of our trip to let us know and asked us what we wanted to do given the potential inconvenience. It was so helpful knowing this was happening ahead of our trip as opposed to being surprised by it. In addition, when things came up during our stay she was very responsive.
All in all, we would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat.

Enjoyed the unit! It’s a great location, great layout and decorated beautifully. Our only problem was it wasn’t ready for 4pm check-in. Sheri answered right away when I called and worked to resolve it. Housekeeping came in and let us in at 4:20pm while they cleaned until after 6pm. They left at around 6:15pm. We already had some groceries so we did not want to leave and come back later.
The next day housekeeping dropped off clean beach towels to the unit.
Once the hiccup with housekeeping was done, the rest of the stay was good.

This was a great place to stay for our trip. It was a great home base for exploring the island. The place was very spacious. The patio was great. Very close to Poipu Beach to watch the turtles come in at night. I would stay here again!

Loved the location of the property. Near great restaurants, view of ocean from multiple rooms, very close to beaches, golf courses and has its on tennis court on the property. Kitchen well stocked with anything you might need. We will definitely return to this unit for years to come!

We enjoyed our stay at this property. You cannot beat the location, close to restaurants, shopping, golf, and the beach. Great having the Hyatt next door too. We had an issue making the tv work, called the owners, and resolved the problem in a few minutes. Have stayed at other Poipu Sands properties, this one is worth a return visit.

Overall we had a great stay at this property. The first night was challenging and I would highly recommend getting in early enough to make sure the property is ready for you. We arrived later in the evening since we were coming from another island and knew we had self check-in, the only way to find the unit number is through the wifi name since it is not listed in any other check-in info. Once in the unit we quickly realized it had not yet been cleaned. Contacted the owner and she quickly made arrangements to have the unit cleaned. Although not awful we did have to find something to do until after 10pm. The location of the unit is really great and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Fabulous location and great condo, however do not expect your deposit back anytime soon it’s now been over ten days since our departure and still no deposit refund. Guess they are trying to earn as much interest as possible on our money.

This property was beautiful. Our friends stayed in the other buildings at poipu sands. We were able to walk everywhere! Breakfast at the grand everyday. Beached it, pooled it. This location is perfect! There’s a trolly from 5-10pm that will bring you anywhere near by. It’s called aloha spirit sunset tour. $70 cab ride from the airport. We did not rent a car and rode with our friends to the mountains to hike. I suggest renting a car if you are traveling alone. There is a curfew at 10pm and at first we were worried about it. We ended up having no problems though and went to bed early everyday! It’s really nice how the whole island quiets down. If you are a rowdy bunch that parties late night, this is not the place for you. We will be coming back here again!!! Mahalo :)

Our stay at the Poipu Sands was the best. The Condo is beautiful, comfy and well stocked. Check in was easy, as was check out. No air condition needed. Sleeping with the windows open, a nice breeze and the sounds of the waves cannot be beat!! A short walk to a beautiful beach to the south, or a rocky cliff line. Just a short drive to Poipu Beach and shops. This condo made it easy to do a lot of activities and still relax.

4 of us stayed here for 8 nights and it was a great location to walk to many places and a comfortable base to explore the rest of the island. We loved the proximity to great walking routes, the sounds of the waves and wildlife (even the roosters!) from the bedroom upstairs. The lanais are a great place to enjoy slower mornings/evenings and do some whale watching. The pool was a pleasant surprise (even nicer than the photos). Our host was very responsive. Thanks for sharing your little slice of Kauai - we’ll be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the property Poipu Sands. The condo was actually larger than it appeared in the pictures. We really liked the location with the walking trails along the ocean. We never missed a sun rise in the 2 1/2 weeks we stayed since they were always spectacular along the ocean. Our friends enjoyed the deck overlooking the ocean with whales passing by. The kitchen was well stocked and the BBQs were always very clean. We hope to be back. Sheri was an excellent host and very accessible via emails .

This was the perfect place for me, my husband and mother in law. The separation of bedrooms gave us enough privacy. The common space was also great with a good sized living room, full kitchen and dining area. We really enjoyed the table and chairs on the lanai with views of the ocean. We also slept upstairs with the screen door open and loved hearing the crashing of waves. The central location and proximity to the beach were very convenient. I hope to be able to stay here again in the future.

The unit was exactly what we needed for our trip to Kauai. My sister and I stayed in the condo and each had our own private space. The condo was clean, updated and well stocked. The unit was supplied with beach chairs but not a beach umbrella. This was not a problem as we rented one for $20 for the week at a nearby business. We enjoyed listening to the waves and wind as we slept. Would definitely recommend!

Condo was perfect for our family of 4. Had everything we needed, was super comfortable & clean. Loved sitting on the lanai every morning with coffee and breakfast and a glass of beer/wine in the late afternoon staring at the ocean. Plus getting to listen to it at night. My husband and son enjoyed body surfing at Shipwrecks multiple times and we loved the Heritage trail which starts at Shipwrecks. Watching the sea turtles straight out from the condo was awesome. Would definitely recommend this place and would come back for sure. Sheri was super responsive and check in/out could not have been easier.

This property met just about all of our expectations. This was our first stay in the Poipu/Koloa area. The apartment is very well maintained and it has a wonderful sea view from both the living room Lanai and the upstairs bedroom lanai. The apartment complex is very well maintained and kept clean all the time. We stayed more than the typical 7 -8 days that most people stay and we would recommend the place to everyone. Working remotely a portion of the time went without any issues, and internet access was ample for work as well as family play. The apartment has a very nice air flow that keeps the place nice and cool and with a small amount of wind coming in to cool the rooms. If you are coming for some piece and quiet as well as silence, this may be a bit tricky. under current Covid situation, There was an unusually high amount of work that had been accumulated due to Covid restrictions. and we did have a few days of loud landscaping work, stair repair. pool maintenance, as well as home renovation and construction outside the properly. If you plan on going to different activities and beaches this place is excellent. If you plan to stick around the area because you have small kids, keep un mind that the closest safe swimming beaches are about half a mile or so away.

The until has a great ocean view and is very close to shipwreck beach. I would definitely stay here again! The owner was very helpful as well.
