Although the views are amazing, there are many issues with the unit itself. The blinds are broken and stuck open in the bedroom and broken stuck closed in the living/kitchen area, the patio umbrella is broken, there is only one chair at the kitchen table, there were dishes in the dishwasher when we arrived (not sure if they were clean or dirty), the sink in the small bathroom barely drains, we had an issue with the air conditioner where we went to the property manager and they told us we needed to call Vacasa. When we called Vacasa they said there was no a/c in this unit, wouldn’t listen to our concerns or refer us to anyone else and hung up on us. Extremely disappointed in Vacasa customer service. I have never stayed in a property where there is no pride in ownership to keep up the maintenance of the property.

TV not working in bedroom. Fan not working in living room. Air conditioner in bedroom and living room stopped working on Friday. I was told someone would be over to fix it. No one showed up. I called vacasa on Saturday morning, they said no one was available on the weekend,
So all day Friday and Saturday and Sunday morning no air conditioner. Will never book here or with vacasa agin

We loved our stay here! We loved the private deck and the views are amazing! We saw turtles every single day on the deck. Poipu beach is so close and there’s a walking path to get there. Poipu beach is a awesome beach to snorkel at! We saw a couple turtles and 2 seals! Such a fun stay we will definitely be back!

Customer response from VACASA was great! We had a couple glitches and they were handled immediately. The view was gorgeous and the location ere was no privacy screen in the Bedroom. Anyone could see right into the Master Bedroom night and day. Sharing the deck with another condo and having the possibility of others walking by - it was unsettling. The ac units for the home should be updated. They installed a window unit in the bedroom that doesn’t work great rather than repairing the units for the entire home. The host was welcoming and left nIce gifts.

This is the third time since 2004 we have stayed in this unit. We love that it is so close to the ocean. We love that it's a one bedroom with a bath and a half. We love the location in Poipu where the ocean is so close the salt spray coats the windows and front door. We love watching the sea turtles from the semi-private lanai. The King sized bed is comfortable. The furnishings are unique. Parking at Poipu Shores can be a challenge - if your bags will fit a compact car fits the spots better. Three things we'd like to see fixed are: the two missing panes on the windows in the master bedroom - the ocean sounds like it's "right there" even more because you have an opening in the window only covered by a screen; the patio door is very difficult to open and should be replaced; and the window coverings for the master bedroom are not private which is an issue at night since the lanai is not private. Overall we love this unit, but those issues could be easily remedied and we'd never consider staying anywhere else on Kauai.

We have stayed at a Poipu Shores many times. This is our first in B101. It’s a lovely unit. Everything you need and more. Love the semi private deck over the the ocean and sleeping to sounds if the pounding surf. Doesn’t get any better than this!

the location of this condo can't be beat! The deck over the ocean was absolutely fabulous. The condo was the perfect size for 2 people and was more than adequately supplied with toiletries, towels, etc.

Great location! Condo not what we expected from the photos and description. Tho it has some nice features it needs a total update. The windows were dirty. The door is difficult to open. Floor tiles were cracked. The landscaping around the condo was not up to par at all with the rest of the property. Lastly, the deck and railing need immediate attention. On the flip side, from the shared deck you can watch the turtles feeding below, follow the tropic birds sailing in and out of the adjacent rocks, catch a whale sighting, and see some spectacular sunsets over the pool.

Our first time in Kauai and the place is better than even pictures can show. The rental was right on the ocean, we went to sleep to the sounds of waves every night and woke to watch the sunrise and the sea turtles every morning. Just a short walk to the public beach, which we did every morning as well. A great home base to tour the entire island and also nice to stick close to home to swim in the pool, lay in the sun on your private lanai, and watch the whales breach.

If you want an incredible view, hearing the ocean waves smashing onto the rocks below, and you want to enjoy seeing sea turtles frolicking on the waves, then this is a great place to stay.
