Our expectations were met, except a few things that can be improved and some that cannot be:
1. The bedroom is windowless. Perhaps, bright concealed lighting can mitigate this big negative a little bit.
2. The bed was very uncomfortable and shaky - should be fixed.
3. Bathroom does not have a tap - perhaps a handheld shower head may solve this issue. At least, a plastic bucket with a mug should be placed.

Loved being in the Center of Maui. We were literally 30 minutes from all directions to enjoy the entire island. From Luau in Lahaina to driving in our rented BMW convertible The Road to Hana- to our Anniversary dinner at Mamas Fish House- it was a perfect trip! Always coming “Home” to our Sugar Beach condo to watch the sunset! No need to stay anywhere else.

We loved our stay. The view (including whale sightings) was spectacular. We had an especially windy stay which limited beach activity, but the pool/hot tub were clean. The location is excellent with just a short drive to downtown Kihei, the airport or Lahaina.

Updated condo with everything you will need for you stay including a well stocked kitchen (appliances and utensils) as well as everything you would need for a day at the beach( chairs, umbrella, boogie board, small cooler). We loved watching the whales from the balcony. Also great spot to sip your morning coffee in the morning and watch the sunset in the evening. Check in and checkout were a breeze.

My husband and I stayed here 3 nights. The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals and the bed was very comfortable. I think I slept better here than at home! The sound of the ocean waves and the breeze made this a great environment. We even used the snorkeling gear one day. The condo is very quiet, minus the roosters 🐓 . I highly recommend this condo and would come back again.

Location to beach is great as well as the view. Good amenities on site. Unit is quite nice overall, bed comfy. Bathroom could use some work though. Doesn't keep with the other updated areas so that was a let down. Linens could use an upgrade, polyester is a no go for us to sleep on so we bought some cotton ones and that worked better. Nice kitchen and deck area. Would stay there again.

This bnb was easy to locate and park. Very clean and well decorated. Plenty spacious for a couple and had all the amenities you’d need! Gorgeous views from the large lanai, where we spent each morning and evening. My one gripe about this place has nothing to do with the place itself and more about location. Having never been to Hawaii, I wasn’t aware of how lacking in walkability this place was. There’s nothing nearby to walk to in the way of cafes, bars, or restaurants. Luckily we had a car rental and could scoot around. If you’re looking to mostly stay at your bnb and just enjoy the solitude of the ocean, this spot is ideal!!

Vacasa had done such a good job of prepping the place and leaving a welcome note…including the Hawaiian music on TV and the AC On.
Also, the Ocean front view (truly Ocean front) is just breath taking. We had lot of activities planned for the day. However if you wanted, you could just relax by the patio/balcony and look at the Beach and Ocean for hours - it is that good.
Hope to be back at this place again during my next vacation !

Loved the location, it is so easy to get anywhere on the island. Incredible view from Lanai. We enjoyed watching the whales. The unit itself is decorated beautifully. Super comfortable bed. All the amenities. Looking forward to returning.

No “expectations vs reality” issues here! This spot lives up to the photos and more. We were out on the balcony as much as possible, watching whales, watching the sunset, watching the canoes, watching more whales. The kitchen was very well stocked, the counter space is huge, the beach chairs were invaluable, and the location is easy to get to anywhere on the island. Second time staying at Sugar Beach, and this unit is even better than the first one. There was a little book on the coffee table with some nice recommendations from the hosts and past guests. This is a great spot that made our vacation very enjoyable!

The unit was exactly as pictured. The furniture was nice and comfortable. The appliances were top notch, as were the linens and towels. The view was a perfect sunset every night.

As soon as you walk in the door you see the stunning view of Kahoolawe & Molokini through a set of palm trees. One almost doesn’t want to leave the balcony to visit the island.
The condo itself is very well appointed—the kitchen probably has every gadget you could ask for. I think it is an appropriate size for 2 people. Four would be ok, maybe a bit snug.
We would definitely consider staying here again if we wanted to be in North Kihei.
